~ Twenty-Ninth Love ~

Everything was perfect they believed. Everything was safe they thought. No more troubles, no more worries, they'd be home soon enough but were in no rush because they were surrounded by such good friends. Everything can't go smoothly in the world though, life never goes as planned. It's the truth for every living being.
Natsu was planning on traveling the world, but stopped at a small town and ended up meeting the love of his life.
Lucy was planning on spending the rest of her life with the man she truly loved, but ended up getting engaged to someone else.
Even Dan, as hateful as we are to the man, had a plan he believed in. He believed he was going to marry the girl of his dreams... but one day... she vanished. Without a trance she was gone from his life and Dan just couldn't let that go. Even with all his power, all his money and resources... nothing could bring her back.
Dan planned on spending the rest of his life with the woman he truly loved, but she ended up running away before he could tell her.
Dan found someone else though, a woman with such resemblance it was uncanny. So Dan led himself into believing that it was her, tried to make it her... life didn't work out that way though. No matter what, Lucy Heartfilia couldn't be the girl Dan fell in love with at first sight when he was younger. Deep down he knew this and maybe that was why every time things were rough in his life or whenever he would return from a trip, he would visit the one town where they first met... and fell in love in.
His ship had left without him on it, he knew it had. It kept him up all night, to return home or go on another business trip. In the end Dan decided to just stay where he was, in Hargeon Town. The town where he first met... her.
She was the reason he believed. It was all her fault. She was the reason why his marriage was a wreck, she was the reason why he was even married in the first place, she was the reason why his life was such a mess! Dan blamed everything on her, because of her.
"Sir, would you like another cup?"
Dan looked up from his thoughts and nodded, holding up his cup so the waitress could pour him another cup of coffee. She left as quickly as she came leaving Dan back to his thoughts. There was only one thought on his mind now though, his wife. He should probably divorce her. That would be the most logically explanation, especially after their last fight. People didn't just get divorced though in their town, it would ruin both their family names if that happened... unless one of them committed adultery. Dan couldn't imagine Lucy cheating on him though and the only woman Dan would want to cheat with is... gone.
He always wondered though, that if he stayed in this town long enough... would he be able to catch a glimpse of her? Its been years since he's been coming back here and not once had he gotten lucky. Not once. If he was lucky this time or not, only Dan would be able to decide when he saw something. His hand froze, his cup hanging in the air as he saw her.
It was her, was it? Brown hair, brown eyes, the smile was different but... Dan's eyes scrunched together as he tried to get a better look. Wait a second, what was he doing? Dan dug into his pants and threw some money on the table before getting up and running off after her. He gulped as he got closer and closer to her, reaching out he was close enough to grabbed her shoulder.
She turned around and instantly paled, her eyes widening as her heart suck to the lowest part of her stomach.
"Dan?"
It wasn't her voice, now that he was this close to her there were some things that were different. But the person he was holding onto wasn't a complete stranger, it was his wife.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
Lucy gulped, not believing what was happening right now! Not believing! What the hell?! How could this be happening to her right now! It's been months, months! She thought it was all over now! She thought everything was behind her in the past! Why though?! WHY CAN'T SHE GET AWAY FROM THIS MAN?!
... She could now, and rather die trying. Lucy shook his hand off and started running for her dear life. Dan didn't follow after her, he stood there frozen for a second. It was a quick second before he started running after her. It wasn't a contest. Just like the last time she wasn't able to out run him, he was always going to catch her. When he did though, Lucy screamed. Heads turned and Dan quickly covered her mouth with his hand.
"Shut up and follow me." He said pulling her along.
Lucy continued struggling though, licking the palm of his hand so she could scream out again.
"You know me, I will resort to violence. Stop struggling and I'll let you go."
Lucy's eyes shined with panic, her heart racing more than average. Everything in her being was telling her to runaway from this man, everything was screaming to run. Dan stopped pulling her and made them stand still, waiting for her reply. This is what Lucy needed to take a deep breath and calm down. Dan was here, that was obvious. He was here meaning that he knew she was here. Even if Lucy was able to run away, Dan knew where she was now. He could come looking for her, and chances are, he would catch her.
Slowly, Lucy nodded her head once and Dan let go of her.
"I've been... thinking. We need to talk, I would like to talk." He told her.
"And if I refuse and run away now?" Lucy asked.
"I'll find you. You're not supposed to be here, I don't even know why you are here though I assume because your in disguise that you ran away from home."
"So you're here to take me back?"
"Yes, no, I don't know. I'll find out after our talk though."
"I want an open space, filled with people." Lucy said.
"Fine, I know just the place."
