Just noticed earlier that it likes to bunch up paragraphs, and I'm sorry for not catching it earlier. I'll keep an eye out for it! Thanks for the feedback! Enjoy!

By the way, some of the quotes aren't from the show. Some are from other shows and from me.

"Fight"

"Not even your mother knows this story."

Kaju Borson had always been the rebellious son of King Bor, and the most shamed child. His younger brother – "the Chosen One" – always got the recognition – even after the wars Kaju had fought, planets he'd conquered, preventing further war to Asgard. Odin had always been their father's most valuable asset, inheriting their father's abilities and counting all variables before making moves.

However, Kaju was almost completely opposite. Bred to be a soldier from the moment he could comprehend commands and all languages, he was taught to believe his title was justifiable – bring upon a war and eliminate the weaker opponents. The belief in never mixing races had sunk in sometime during his life.

I was the one thing he despised worse than his father's approval. He can accept raising a being from another planet. That was different, but when you mixed two similar races – it was looked down upon.

And he couldn't understand why his father approved of mixing races, why his father accepted the fact that one day Odin would fall in love with a mortal and have a child. Bor knew even before Odin had met her that it would happen.

And Kaju had inherited the clairvoyance trait from Bor – one of the best things his father had given to him and benefitted his battles. Unfortunately, just like he took advantage of his insatiable need for eliminating any weak races, he also took advantage of the clairvoyance ability. He'd used it to attempt to eliminate an allied planet and began to murder some of its occupants.

Odin had banished him to Earth, believing he would not cause harm to a living soul if he were bound to a certain area where occupation was low. However, his hope was wrong once Kaju learned to break the chain and started using both his title and clairvoyance trait to find the child he knew his father had predicted. Angry for the banishment, he figured he would kill two birds with one stone – begin quenching his insatiable need for eliminating this weak planet. Then begin taking over the throne and turn every Asgardian warrior into mirroring insatiable murderers.

His plan had started off well once he located the innocent child that its mother had protected. He had no plans for this abomination to continue living. Needed to destroy it as soon as possible. Then, having built an army to follow him, he released them to complete his wrath.

Enjoying the screams and merciless murdering of innocent beings, he had stood back on an overseeing mountain edge, laughing his head off until he'd found the mother and child. Jumping off the edge, he landed with a harsh jolt that shook the area. Half-smiling and feeling accomplished, he zeroed in to the small family. Lifting the young woman up by her throat, he stared at the frightened woman, not understanding the attraction.

He could still remember the conversation he'd had with her.

"Do you regret having a relationship with a king now, Midgardian?" He'd questioned her.

Staring down at him with angry eyes, she lost her frightened exterior. "No. Odin had warned me that you would find us. You won't be able to hurt her. You can murder us all, but you will never be able to hurt her physically." She warned. "She is half-god."

He turned his head slightly to the right to see the innocent infant along with another small child who'd taken it upon itself to stand in front of the infant. Turning back to glare at the woman, he began speaking again. "You are mistaken, Midgardian. She is just as weak as you. She will come to the same fate as you and this other child."

She had glanced to the small boy. "Run, Pi! Take Cong somewhere safe!" She yelled at the child, who'd immediately picked up the bundled up child and turned on his heels to escape.

Turning his head once again, he saw the child run in a general direction with the sleeping infant. Whipping his head back to the woman, his anger was getting to him. "You have made a grave mistake, Midgardian."

Staring down at the god, she only said one thing in an unsettling voice. "One day, you will be defeated and meet your ending. I hope whoever manages to get you on your knees will show you no mercy."

Her words should have frightened him, but he was too caught up in the chaos to worry about that. "So be it. I will show little mercy, Midgardian."

"I'm expecting you to kill my brother and myself. So do it." She sounded defeated but in fact recognized her fate.

Kaju nodded. "Then I bid you farewell." He snapped her neck, dropping her and headed in the direction of the little boy and infant.

He could not find her. As the last resident dropped to the ground lifelessly, he searched for her, listening for her cry. There was none. At that discovery, he had forsaken the massacred village.

"I'm responsible for the well-being of my team."

In his bathroom, Coulson adjusted the black tactical outfit to feel more comfortable and slung the sheathed weapon on his back. His gun was in its holster belt and a knife was sheathed in one of the million pockets. He could never understand how Ward could tolerate all of these pockets.

They were on their way to a ruined Hunan village where Skye had been born with no back up.

"Sir?" Ward called, standing just outside of the bathroom, arms crossed as usual.

"I'm coming, Ward." Coulson said as he came out of the bathroom, still adjusting the damn outfit. "I will never understand how you can be comfortable in this crap."

Ward took a look at his boss and chuckled. "Here." He adjusted the straps and repositioned Coulson's mortal weapons. Coulson adjusted the sheathed weapon. Taking a step back, Ward scanned Coulson's appearance. Satisfied, he said. "I believe you're ready for battle."

Coulson wasn't so sure. Although they all had Asgardian training, he was still worried that one of them would be killed. The guy was a full-blooded Asgardian who no doubt had lived quite a bit longer than any of them and surely had control of his powers. Coulson just now started controlling his whacked out powers - not to mention the Asgardian weapon's powers.

Ward left him. Coulson didn't mind, though. Reaching behind to pull out his weapon, he inspected the glowing symbols. "Just work with me. Hell if I know what I'm doing, but just pick up the slack or wrong moves. We need to see Skye, to be with her." He whispered to the weapon like it was a being. If any one of his team came up there, they'd declared him mentally ill. "This is for us, Skye."

Taking a deep breath, he reached behind and put it back. Then, he headed downstairs.

"What are they doing?"

Coulson opened the cockpit door, stepped in, and quietly closed it – all without turning back. He took the few steps to lean on the second pilot's chair. "How far are we, Melinda?"

May didn't looked back at him. She was afraid to see the anxiousness, the nervousness of her longtime friend and boss. "About an hour. Back up is thirty minutes behind us."

"Back up?" Coulson sounded alarmed, looking completely surprised. "Why are we getting back up? I'm really the only who's supposed to battle Kaju. Technically, you guys aren't supposed to even be here."

May set the plane on autopilot and turned in her seat to glare at Coulson. "We take care of our own. You taught them that. Something this big…we need more manpower than just us or even you. Kaju's the God of Death and War. We don't even know if he just touches a person and can easily kill them. We are a lot weaker than him. Yes, you are stronger, but still you are human, easily capable of dying." May huffed out deep, frustrated breath. "You don't have permission to die, not when our pregnant half-Asgardian family member is waiting on you. I'll be damn if I lose another person that is important to me; I'm not just talking about her but you as well."

Bahrain. He remembered. "You won't lose us, Melinda." He tried to assure.

Apparently, it was the wrong thing to say because she bolted out of her seat and rounded on him, looking ten times more intimidating than he was used to. He actually took a step back in fright. Pointing at him, May spoke in an even tone. "You can't promise that, Phillip. Don't even try to."

He breathed heavily and quickly, not in a pissed off mode but fearful. They had a stare down before he averted his eyes. "I have the proper training. C'mon, let's have a meeting in the Conference Room."

She passed him and left the cockpit, making their way to the room. Their family was standing around the holographic glass table.

"Alright guys, we knew Kaju has isolated himself to this area yet he'll have his army surrounding his location. He will be thirsty for a war, which is what I'm hoping S.H.I.E.L.D. and us can take care of eliminating the Clairvoyant. I've already informed them about Kaju's background and who the Clairvoyant really is. May just informed me that we have back up."

The rest of the team looked surprised. Ward spoke up. "Why do we have back up? We are Coulson's back up."

May stepped closer to the table. "Thor informed Fury about the situation and he felt the need to send back up. Fury really intends to take out this threat on Earth. Regardless of what or who he is, Kaju is a threat to Earth, and it is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s job to eliminate threats to the public."

The four other members were nodding along while they listened to the pilot.

"Ultimately, I hope S. .L.D. understands that Coulson's the one who's has been determined as the person to fight one-on-one with Kaju." Ward made it sound like a question.

May nodded. Upon seeing the four members' nervous expressions, she took it upon herself to be the 'Mom' of the group. "Buckle up, cowboys!" She pushed herself off the table and walked around to Coulson's side. Looking at Simmons, she corrected herself. "And cowgirl." Simmons smiled in response. Turning back to the boys, they had smiles on their faces. "We're ending not only Kaju's reign but also the Clairvoyant's."

All five had half-smug smirks on their faces.

"Just remember: we're doing this for Skye and the babies." Coulson tried to sound peppy, but the underlining worry that he'd fail couldn't be ignored.

Having gotten in his battle-ready attitude, Fitz piped up with a serious expression. "And you, sir."

Coulson looked flattered, staring straight at the engineer. "Not only me, Fitz." He surveyed the team. "For our family."

"Then, let's go kick some ass." Simmons spoke up, somewhat excitedly. That very sentence sounded foreign coming out of her mouth. Usually, that was a Skye, Ward or May thing.

It made all members chuckle.

"Well then," Coulson spoke up, "let's kick some ass."

"Phil's one of our finest."

Ward jumped up and slammed into an opposing soldier as he came back down, effecting making the Chinese soldier land painfully onto the soft ground. Incapacitating the soldier, Ward landed on one knee and his other foot with his fist creating a caved in hole while looking down and resting his opposite arm on the leg propped up, looking up to scan for another soldier. Once finding one, he bolted up and took off to fight that one.

May was battling two different soldiers at the same time. Using the same moves S.H.I.E.L.D. had taught her, she easily put those soldiers down before moving on. FitzSimmons was left on the Bus, safe in their laboratory, using their special skills to aid in the fight.

Standing on a cliff overlooking the fight below, Coulson balled his hands, surveying the scene, looking for some sort of sign of Kaju. A booming evil laugh echoed within the area. Snapping his head to the opposite side of him, Kaju stood observing the small war below. He was enjoying himself.

Just enjoy for now. Soon, you'll be begging for mercy. You're mine. Coulson thought as he took off toward the other side, a fixed angry expression on his face.

He was only a yard away from where he started when he noticed Kaju wasn't where he spotted him. Coming to a slow stop, he was confused, reaching up to wipe sweat off his forehead. "Where the hell…?" He questioned, breathing heavily.

Then, the hairs on the back of his neck rose. Coulson stiffened before slowly turning his head as far around as it would go.

"It's nice to see you again." Kaju stated in a knowingly and off-handed manner.

Coulson breathed deeply, debating how to respond. He didn't have a chance.

"I assumed Loki would tell you. Let me give you a little background before I reveal your purpose. See, I know everything in this world." He spoke smugly, twirling a sharp stainless steel pen in his hands as he walked closer to the senior agent. "I see into every government, every agency, even what the presidents dream about." Kaju stated information Coulson already knew. The Asgardian warrior now stood directly in front of him. "My only problem – in regards to knowing and seeing everything – is you."

Coulson wanted to show his surprise, but he had to keep a blank glare. Well, that's new. "What about your niece?"

Kaju used the pen to clean under his nails, looking at what he was doing. Glancing up, he regarded Coulson. "Oh, she's definitely another problem, one that I'll take care of as soon as you are disposed of." He pulled back the pen, blowing the dirt from his nails.

I don't think Thor or his father expected this. Coulson thought. "What's so special about me?"

"I cannot read Asgardian minds." Kaju glared at Coulson. "Just like I cannot read yours or Skye's."

Coulson now showed his surprise. "Wh-what? How?" He shook his head, confused. "How is that possible?"

"I do not know." Kaju said before suddenly getting in Coulson's face. "Can you tell me?"

Coulson took a step back, caught completely off guard. This was not how he envisioned the battle to go. He shook his head again, stepping closer to the edge of the flat surface as Kaju advanced on him.

"He can never know."

"You do not even know what they have done to you?" Kaju smirked, latching onto the fact that he knew one part of something Coulson didn't know. "They used Asgardian blood to help bring you back before a healer took over."

"But I didn't see…" Coulson started.

"They buried that deep in your subconscious." Kaju thought he had him right where he wanted him.

"You didn't know."

"Start the blood transfusion." A healer ordered a nurse, who scurried off to get the requested items. A bag of dark red liquid was hooked onto an IV pole and a needle was stuck in the top of his hand. "Make a note to block this from his memory. It has been requested by the S.H.I.E.L.D. Midgardian that he never know that he will have the natural right to live and become a suitor on Asgard, should he choose." "Yes, Healer." The nurse wrote on a clipboard. The healer looked at him. "I hope one day you'll come home, Son of Coul." This healer didn't like hiding secrets and felt everyone deserves to know what happened to them.

"It's time you knew the truth."

Coulson panted, sucking in deep breaths to calm his racing heart. He bent over, resting his palms on the space just before his knees. Looking at the hard, dirty surface, he willed his mind and body not to dwell on that revelation. He needed to kill this evil jackass.

"And I guess that little piece of the puzzle just clicked, am I right?" Kaju taunted, bending down to watch Coulson calculatedly. "It is amazing how much you Midgardians keep from one another." Kaju slowly clicked the pen, causing it to fan out and become a small dagger. Smiling evilly, he was just about to strike when Coulson snapped up and grabbed his weapon.

Taking a step to his right and out of the way to the edge of the cliff, Coulson circled the Asgardian. "Does this mean you're going to have a harder time to kill me?" He asked, looking down at his weapon.

Kaju paled at the sight of the glowing hieroglyphics. "This is Lady Sif's weapon." He sounded surprised. "How did you acquire it?"

Coulson's right eyebrow rose in interest. "Don't you know that when the weapon glows, it means its found its owner?" He shook his head in disbelief. "You've spent way too much time on Earth."

Kaju glared. "That is not my fault!" He yelled, stomping his foot. "My brother banished me."

The senior agent rolled his eyes. "Really? I thought I came here to battle a god...not a petulant two-year-old." Coulson set the weapon on the ground in front of him. Staring up at the psychotic god whose mouth was agape, Coulson slowly raised his hands in defeat. "But I won't throw the first punch, Kaju." He assured him as he took a step back. "Now that I've finally met the Clairvoyant, I can see he's someone with so much power that he doesn't know how to control it or what to do with it, even after all of these years."

"What was I supposed to do? I was born to be a soldier, to eliminate threats. It wasn't my fault that I inherited that trait." Kaju flung the dagger around carelessly, too focused on getting his point across than realizing what Coulson's intentions were. "And you," the god pointed the dagger at him, "everything that has happened in your life has led directly to this moment." Kaju pointed the dagger down, circling the senior agent like he was prey. "I could see it before you were born. I could see everything in your life, except for the moment you died," he raised the dagger and pointed it once again at Coulson, who was looking every bit surprised by Kaju's revelation. "And the moment you were brought back from the dead."

For once, Coulson was glad to have any connection with Asgard. This could be useful in his battle. Kaju wouldn't know what to expect. "Have you ever been able to see your niece's thoughts?"

Kaju shook his head. "Any trace of Asgardian DNA in someone prevents me from reading their mind." He smiled, chuckling. "Makes it kinda hard to anticipate their moves, right?"

Sure thing. Coulson thought, itching to grab his weapon and do the inevitable. If only, he could hide his actions from the god. The senior agent called the weapon to him. He stared at Kaju.

"You lied to me." The god stated, crouching down in a fight stance, dagger at his side and ready for instructions. "You said you were not going to throw the first punch."

Coulson half-smirked. "You're right. I did say that." He pressed the button, releasing the blades. "I never said it would be my fists, though. Have you not learned that saying in all the years you've lived here?"

Kaju clenched his jaw before advancing on Coulson, yelling as he ran into him faster than Coulson could manage to sidestep him. Landing on his back, Coulson groaned, having had the wind knocked out of him. His hand opened and the twin-bladed weapon rolled off the cliff. Coulson's heart fell as the weapon left his sight, but he knew it'd come back to him whenever he needed it. No one had mentioned how fast and strong any god was. The god stared down at Coulson. "Midgardian training isn't like Asgardian training, Son of Coul."

Coulson glowered up at the man, coughing. "I've been informed." He was about to get up, but Kaju bent down, wrapped a hand around his throat and effortlessly raised him up, letting the senior agent's legs dangle in the air.

In reaction, Coulson choked and wrapped both hands around the god's forearm, trying to hold on. One snap and you'd be dead before he dropped you to the floor. Her words came back to him as he racked his brain to figure out what to do.

Kaju raised the dagger up to Coulson's face, scraping it lightly against his left cheek, shaving the five o'clock shadow. "Now," he pulled it back, poking the weapon lightly at his chin. "You seriously do not think you will win here, right? No Midgardian has ever won against a god. They are not meant to." He said sadistically, smirking at Coulson like he'd already won the battle. "You can feel yourself growing weaker as your breathing continues to tighten. How does it feel now, Son of Coul? Your soldiers below us are failing in their mission. They are meant to kill my army, right?" Kaju stressed, angry gray blue eyes tightened their lock on the baby blues staring panicky back at him.

Coulson tried to speak, but Kaju's grip on his throat prevented the words from making sense. Kaju walked over to the edge, reaching out to dangle Coulson over the side. All Kaju would have to do is release his hold on Coulson and the man would fall to his death. Skye was right. God, please don't let me die.

Kaju suddenly jerked him toward him, coming face-to-face with Coulson. "I have two more secrets to tell you. They are good ones. Want to hear them?" He didn't give him a chance to respond. The god moved his head to the right so he could whisper into the agent's ear. "I created Hydra to build my army. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s always been my army's number 1 enemy. A plan was written out for a crossbreed that would be born to take control over Hydra and merge the organizations. It was only fitting that my second successor would get a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent pregnant, setting that plan in motion. Just didn't expect you to be raised away from Hydra. The idiot human didn't even believe me when I told him what he created. It's why I had your biological father killed. His stupidity was his demise." He pulled back, staring at the shock expression on Coulson's face. "I also ordered Loki to kill you, so you would come back and lead me right to my niece." He smirked. "Her curiosity of my Centipede soldiers made her land directly in your lap. It was only a matter of time and planning to get her right where I wanted her."

Coulson's eyes widened. His heart pounded and guilt set in. His entire world altered, shifting in a million rotations. It made him dizzy. His eyes fluttered shut and his body went limp, having finally succumbed to the lack of oxygen.

"You have to do something!"

Drifting. He's drifting.

Coulson popped his crazed baby blue eyes open, looking around his surroundings. He realized he was on his stomach in the dirty ground. Breathing heavily as he lifted his head, he watched Kaju's retreating form. A pissed off expression etched into his face as he slowly got himself on his feet, still feeling dizzy from the lack of oxygen. Stumbling, he took a few steps forward only to stop to bend over and catch his breath. Watching the god retreat, he straightened, held out his hand behind him and called the weapon to him. It flew into his hand, the handle smacking against his hand.

"Argggg!" He yelled as he rushed after the god, who turned just as he got to him. Kaju gripped his bulletproof vest and slung him against the wall. Coulson smacked into the dirt-covered wall hard, falling to the ground. He groaned before getting back up.

Kaju glared at him. "You do not give up."

"Apparently, I was too stubborn to stay dead." He shrugged. "It seemed fitting." He said awkwardly with a half-smile.

Kaju bolted toward him, slamming into him, making him fall again and lose his weapon once again. "You want a fight, boy." He bowed his head. "Then, a fight you will receive." He growled, throwing a punch at him again. Coulson threw up his hands and create his force field just in time. Kaju didn't seem surprised.

They battled – each throwing a punch, Coulson using his weapon and Kaju blocking his moves. Finally, Coulson was able to call his weapon and didn't hesitate, piercing the god's heart.

Rising up on his feet, he didn't remove the weapon. Instead, he maneuvered it to where his hands kept it in place. Kaju actually looked afraid. Coulson pulled him close. "This…" he shoved it in harder, "is for hurting my family. And this…" He twisted the blade, causing the god to produce more tears, "is for all the pain you caused my fiancée. Despite how I came to be, I have to thank you; I don't give a damn that you orchestrated my death." He sighed, pulling back to watch the god's eyes turn to panic and pain. "Because it did lead me to her, but I do give a damn about the way you view my people. You're wrong; they can be as strong as a god. We just don't like displaying it like certain gods do. That is the difference between man and god."

Then, he dropped him to the ground, removing the weapon to behead the god. Blood sprayed across his face and body. He felt relieved as he dropped to his knees and the weapon fell to his side. Looking up to the sky, he actually smiled as his heart lifted. She'd be able to return home. They could be together.

Finally, he stood up, grabbing his weapon and closing it before sticking it back in its carrier.

"Boo-Yah!"

It didn't take long to break apart Kaju's army. With no leader, they were forced to surrender. Many of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents escorted those who weren't dead to airplanes that would take them to the Fridge.

Coulson wiped some of the blood off his face, only to smear it. Sitting on the back of a S.H.I.E.L.D. issued medical vehicle, he smiled as his team approached him. May and Ward were banged up but held no severe injuries.

"Sir, you okay?" Ward asked as soon as they were right next to him.

"I'm not as banged up as you two, if that's what you mean." He joked, sucking down water from a water bottle. He patted the seat next to him, then the other side, to indicate for them to sit as well.

"You got a lot of blood on you." Ward commented as he sat on Coulson's right side.

"It's mostly Kaju's." He answered, sitting the bottle behind him. Leaning back, he reached behind Ward to retrieve two water bottles, offering them to his subordinates. Each bottle left his hands rather quickly.

"Where is he?" May spoke up after taking a greedy drink.

"Oh…um…" He scratched his nose. "He might be beheaded up on the cliff there." He answered offhandedly, pointing up in the mountains. "The retrievers should be already packing him up and bringing him back down."

May was a little surprised by Coulson's attitude. "I guess you went old school on his ass."

Coulson chuckled, smiling. "Well, Asgardian old school."

"So will this mean you get to go up to Asgard and marry Skye?" Ward asked.

"It should, especially with the secrets that Kaju told me. It's going to shock my father-in-law and brother-in-law."

"Not both brothers-in-law?" Ward clarified.

Coulson shook his head. "Nope. Loki has known all along what's been going on. He's behind some of it. I don't think Odin and Thor will be so willing to claim him." Coulson jumped off the back, turning on his heels to face them. "You guys stick with each other and watch your backs." He pointed at both agents. "I gotta go talk with Fury before I return Kaju to Asgard."

"Will do." Ward reached out to shake his hand. "Bring her home, sir."

He smiled. "I will, Grant." Coulson looked to May, who gave a small smile and nod.

Turning on his heels, he walked away to find Fury.

"So what's next?"

Heimdall finally granted Coulson access to Asgard upon seeing Kaju's dead body. Odin sent a hovering stretcher to retrieve Kaju's body for autopsy – though it was not needed.

"Welcome back, Son of Coul. The king is awaiting your presence." Heimdall informed him as he pulled out his sword.

"Great." Coulson groaned as he turned on his heels to head toward the castle. "Thanks, Heimdall." Heimdall just nodded in acknowledgement.

Pulling out his weapon, he opened it and willed it to fly him to the castle. Faster than the speed of light, he arrived at the castle. Leaning against one of the pillars with one foot resting against the concrete pillar and arms crossed, Loki was waiting for him.

"Hello, Son of Coul." Loki greeted in a taunting voice. A mischievous smile lit his lips.

Coulson paled. This can't be good. "Whatever you want, Loki, you can just forget it." He responded in a not-in-the-mood tone, rolling his eyes as well. Walking up the stairs, Loki pushed off the pillar and joined Coulson as he entered the castle.

"Come with me, my soon to be brother." Loki gestured for the agent to walk to his right.

Coulson inwardly groaned.

"I see that you have accomplished eliminating my uncle on your own." He merely mentioned.

Coulson looked over at Loki, clenching his jaw and coming to a stop, which Loki followed. "Yeah, thanks for the location, but I also know what Kaju had you do. Did you enjoy thrusting that sceptre through my chest, Loki? Did it give you an adrenaline rush?"

Loki lowered his head just slightly, still looking directly at the agent as he half smiled. "Every life I take is an adrenaline rush, Son of Coul."

Coulson stepped back, shocked. He wasn't expecting that. And this guy is going to be my brother-in-law? The guy who had just said that he's changed? I am so screwed. Can't decide whom I feel worse for: Odin, Thor, or Skye. Because two of them have had to deal with his psycho personality since he was a baby, and Skye will have to deal with him until one of them die.

Loki looked up his body. "Do not worry, Son of Coul. My baby sister will kill me if I hurt you like I said. Our fun is over with, unless it is family orientated."

Little crept out here. He thought as he followed Loki.

They heard bawling from the opposite direction. Both males stopped, looking back. "What was that?" Coulson questioned.

"I believe they are called infants." Loki answered. "Come, Father is waiting. He does not like to be ignored."

"Gotcha." Coulson turned to follow the psychotic god.

"She is worthy of you."

"I have seen that you have proven yourself, Son of Coul." Odin commented as the god and man entered the thinking room. The king wasn't facing them. His hands were cupped together against his back while he seemed to look over the world.

Loki stopped just inside the room, holding out his arm across Coulson's chest to stop him from going any further. He nodded his head.

"Uh…yeah, I think I have." Coulson wasn't sure what to say.

Odin took a deep breath, letting it out. "Loki, please let me have a moment alone with Son of Coul."

"Yes, Father." Loki said slowly, bowing out before walking out of the room. "Good luck." He whispered, glancing at Coulson before leaving.

Coulson gulped.

"It's a beautiful day outside. Do you agree, Son of Coul?" Odin asked as he turned to face the agent.

"Yes, I believe so." Coulson shifted from foot to foot in nervousness.

"Midgardians are not known to defeating any gods. It simply is not possible." Odin approached him. "So tell me, how were you able to defeat my brother?"

Coulson thought carefully about his answer. "Upon being healed here on Asgard, I was given Asgardian blood to help prepare a healer to finish healing me. Naturally, I developed telekinesis and have a force field. My weapon provided the rest of my protection." He looked down at the floor. "So I guess, technically, I can marry your daughter."

Odin's jaw clenched. "Who gave you this blood?" he grew angry.

"I don't know." He lied, technically. "Nonetheless, I have proven my worth. Shouldn't eliminating a threat on both Asgard and Midgard – as you call it – make you consider my proposal to marry your daughter?"

"Are you prepared to take on the responsibilities that come with marrying a princess?" Odin questioned, stepping in front of him.

He didn't know the responsibilities that came with marrying a princess, but he was sure he'd find out sooner or later. All he wanted was to be with Skye, to be allowed to provide for her, to be the man her father and brothers wanted for the youngest of Odin's children. Without a lick of nervousness in his voice and body language, Coulson answered. "Yes, and I'm prepared to take on the responsibilities of respecting, loving, and providing for her."

"And her children?" Odin tested him.

Coulson froze, completely taken aback by this revelation. His eyes widened and heart pumped harder and faster while his mind ran through all kinds of thoughts. "Yes. Where is she?"

Odin looked at him with uncertainty. "You know about the babies." He stated.

"Yeah, she told me." He answered.

The psychic connection. Odin concluded, fanning his arm out and gesturing for Coulson to walk with him. "She is in her room with her caretaker, tending to the children."

"She had them?" Coulson asked, not expecting it to be so soon. He'd hoped that he'd have a chance to settle into the role as Daddy – via talking to them while they were still in her stomach, rubbing said stomach, perhaps even singing to them – before they would be born. Guess not.

"Yes, they were born a month ago." Odin informed him. Coulson merely nodded, taking it in.

They headed down the hallway to her room. Odin observed Coulson's body language out of the corner of his eye. He could clearly see the man's nervousness. "Do you not have any prior children?"

"No. They are my first, and second technically." Coulson managed to get out. "I hadn't planned on falling in love and obviously having a family, but it happened. I wouldn't change it for anything."

"They are fighters. Perhaps, one day your son will become a warrior like his father, uncle, and grandfather." Odin stated, smiling at the idea.

Uh...Hell no! They're going to be raised on Earth just like their parents, where they can choose what they want to be. I won't be opposed to exposing them to the Asgardian customs, but that's it. Oh and their family, but that's it. I know Skye'll agree. Coulson thought as he kept his face blank.

The crying he and Loki had heard earlier was now quieted. Coulson suddenly stopped just outside of the door, squashing his nervousness down. Odin placed a hand on his shoulder. "It seems overwhelming and scary at first, but it is the best thing you come to realize you have done. They are a blessing. I can promise you that."

"Time to turn a chapter."

Coulson flashed a smile.

"Just wait here and I will give you a sign to come in. It will give you time to calm down." Odin whispered just before stepping into Skye's room. "Are the children okay, my daughter? I heard them from the thinking room."

"Yeah, Dad. Jack needed a diaper change and Andreya was hungry." Skye answered, pacing back and forth with Andreya. She couldn't stop staring down at the dark haired, clear baby blue eyed baby girl who looked up at her, appearing like she was studying her. "I just got Jack asleep, but Miss Andreya is being very much like her father: stubborn and determined to fight against sleeping."

Odin stepped closer to look at his granddaughter, whom upon hearing a new voice turned her head in his direction. Asgardian children advanced much quicker than humans, so it didn't surprise Odin that his grandchildren could already see him from a far distance. He wasn't sure, however, which parts they would advance in and not. "I have someone here to meet you."

Skye groaned. "Oh god, Dad, not another one of your suitor candidates." She whined. "The only male I'm marrying is AC. No second best."

Odin motioned Coulson to enter. "Suitor candidates are over. I've found the one."

Skye looked at him confused before Coulson entered the room with a wide smile on his face. "AC?" She sounded unsure.

"Yeah." He spoke, holding his palms down.

She walked over to crib, gently sat Andreya on the mattress before turning and launching herself at him like she'd done months ago.

He grunted, taking a few steps back to keep both of them from landing on the hard floor. Skye wrapped her arms around his neck while he wrapped his arms around her waist. "I've missed you." He whispered.

"I've missed you, too." She closed her eyes. "I love you, AC."

He brightened at that. "I love you, too, Skye."

"It's just a scratch."

Odin excused himself, gesturing for Amadis to follow him. Skye and Coulson shared a passionate kiss before it descended to gentle.

Then, she felt a slimy, sticky substance and lifted her hand. Alarmed, she looked back at Coulson. "What's this? Did you get hurt? Did Dad hurt you? Because I swear I'll hurt him regardless of his title."

"No, honey." He assured her. "I promise it's not mine." Stepping back, he unstrapped the vest, tossing it on the floor. Then, he pulled his shirt off, tossing it on the vest, showing her his chest. "See? I'm perfectly unharmed."

She smirked, until she noticed the bruises. "You have bruises!" She passed him, starting to march out of the room before Coulson caught her wrist.

"Skye! Skye, relax." He pulled her closer. "It's from battle, yes, but I had to do it if I ever wanted to prove my worthiness to your father. I think a few bruises are worth it." He assured, pulling back to look into her eyes. "You should see the other guy."

She pulled him into a bone-crushing hug. "Don't ever scare me like that again." She stressed. His arms wrapped around her lower back.

"You know, if you wanted to see my abs, you could've just asked." He teased.

She instantly pulled back, smacking him on his chest. "Not the time to be joking, Mr. Paranoid Secret Agent." A reluctant smile peeked out.

"Seemed fitting." Coulson shrugged. "Now. Our children?" Upon her upset look, he spoke. "You told me through our psychic connection. Your father mentioned them because he wanted to make I would take on our responsibilities. I'm sure beheading Kaju says a lot."

Skye smiled, taking his hand in her hand. "Then, lemme introduce you to our twins." They stopped just in front of the crib. Andreya was staring up at them in curiosity while Jack, also dark headed, lay on his back sleeping. "Jack's the deep sleeper while Andreya's more like her daddy." She explained, leaning over to pick up Andreya. The little girl studied the man beside Skye, debating whether he was safe or not.

Coulson stared back at familiar eyes. She may have her mother's thick brown hair and nose, but she had his eyes and mouth. He smiled when his daughter's lips formed a straight line like his tended to. God, she's beautiful and a little mini me. I wonder if she'll order the team around when she's old enough. "She's beautiful."

Skye looked back at him. "We did good, AC."

He half-chuckled. "You did good. I wasn't here."

"Not your fault." Skye gently brushed Andreya's hair. It was still wet. "They just had a bath before they started crying." She turned to face Coulson. "Ready to hold your daughter for the first time, Agent Coulson? You've been a part of a government agency intent on protecting Earth and battled a couple of gods. Think you're up for the task of fatherhood?" She asked, holding Andreya out for Coulson to take.

He smiled, holding out his arms. "Yes, I am."

"Alright." Skye instructed Coulson how to hold their daughter.

"She's a beauty."

Coulson paced back and forth in the vast room, never taking his eyes of the little girl who'd captured a part of his heart. He gently rocked her, still keeping a fasten grip on the little girl who had never wavered her eyes. Getting the feeling that she was still debating whether to relax or cry for her mother, he started softly singing "A La Nanita Nana" to her, a song his mother had sung to him as a child.

Skye sat on the edge of her bed, tearing up at the scene. It amazed her that this man, her savior, could be all tough as nails macho yet calm exterior agent to a loving father within a fleeting moment. When he glanced in her direction, she produced a watery smile. His eyebrows knitted briefly before returning back to their daughter, who was fighting hard against sleep.

It took another ten minutes before Andreya fell asleep. When she grew limp, he shuffled over to the crib, leaning over to gently lay her next to her brother. Straightening, he turned his attention over to Skye. "I hope that was okay." His face looked worried, lost. "I-I…um," He stuttered as he used his hands as he spoke, a little uncomfortable in his new surroundings.

She chuckled softly, taking his hands into her own and sitting them in her lap, covering his with her own. "It's okay. You did wonderful. It took me a while to get in a groove. This isn't some mission you are briefed on. Parenthood…I'm finding out…is a rocky, unknown territory that you can only walk down through faith and what your parents have instilled in you or what you've observed over the years."

"It's a lot to take in."

"I don't like not being prepared." Coulson said, looking down at their hands.

She chuckled once again. "I know, babe." Skye withdrew one hand, patted his leg, and reached up to cup his left cheek. "You'll get it. I promise."
