Chapter 29: You will never lose me
Hey everyone! So this is the last chapter of Taylor's Story... I hope everyone will like it! I loved to write this, and I feel so sad that it's ending now. But it has to end sometime. I hope everyone enjoyed this fanfiction, as much as I liked writing it!
The Enchanted Forest…
The dark sky was lit by a thousand shinning stars, brighter than normally. Carriages made their ways to the Northern summer palace of the Blue Lake district. They were all headed there for the same reason, the Lumière Festival. Those stars only shined this bright once in a five years, and all royals tried to make it to this event. A golden carriage stopped in front of the castle, and Taylor stepped out of it in her well known red dress. Her golden heels tapped on the stones which formed the bridge to the castle's double doors. It pathway was lit by white candles, as fireflies where all around.
"Taylor!" the brunette turned around right after she entered the ballroom.
"Allison!" the two hugged each other, "Look at you… You're a real princess!" Taylor remembered their journey as one of the closest friendships she had ever known. Allison fell in love with a prince who happened to cross the same path as she did. Now she wasn't a lost girl anymore, she was the princess of the Blue Lake district.
"And you… you look amazing!" Allison said.
"I cannot stay for very long, unfortunately. Regina may not know that I'm here."
"We'll keep you out of sight." Allison gave her a wink, walking into the crowd. Taylor walked along the sides of the ballroom. She came for Allison, even though it was pretty dangerous. Luckily not many people knew her in this part of the land. And as the young brunette walked along the sides, someone laid a hand on her eyes and slowly brought her to one of the hallways.
Without any resistance she walked with them, without knowing where she went as the only thing she could see was a black empty space. "Who are you…" She whispered, as her voice shivered through the halls. They had stopped walking.
"Your prince." A voice said as Taylor's eyes opened and the hand let go of her. Taylor turned around, "Killian!" she said, laying her warm hands on his cheeks. He walked backwards and turned his girl around so her back would face the wall.
"You missed me?"
"Every second." She smiled, and brought her lips to his. She never wanted to let go of him anymore.
"Everyone, line up!" Taylor heard a manly voice yelling from the ballroom.
"Bloody hell…"
"Is that who I think it is?" Killian gazed at the open door which would lead into the ballroom.
"Black Knights."
Taylor grabbed his hand, walking through the other hallways, to find a way out. Luckily she stumbled into Allison who showed them the way out to the horse stables. Killian and Taylor ran off with both a horse. Right before the festival got cancelled and the Knights returned to the Evil Queen's castle.
Present time…
"Killian, you don't want to do this." Regina slowly stepped out of the elevator.
"Don't come any closer or I will have to shoot her." He demanded.
Rumple protected Belle by keeping her close by. She didn't let his anger come out. They didn't want to kill Killian, but they did not want Taylor to be killed either.
"He can't help it, the doesn't have control of his own heart." Taylor sat against the wall, with her hands and legs still tied up. She seemed afraid, scared of what this would do to Killian, and to her. Tears slowly streamed down her cheeks, and her hands shivered like she would be frozen to death. And yes she felt cold, but not her body temperature. Her heart felt as it was struck by ice, cold, lonely, helpless.
"Killian, listen –"
"I have nothing to listen to dear majesty. The only thing I can listen to are the commands in my head, I want to get rid of the thousand voices speaking to me. I just need to do this."
"Killian, we know you're a better person now. You love her, she loves you too." Belle had stepped forward, next to Regina.
"Stop giving me a hard time, I have no choice!"
"Killian, hey… look at me." Taylor said softly. His face turned to hers, she could see the pain is his bright blue eyes. The voices that killed his mind from inside, he would never be freed before he would shoot her. "Come here, it's okay." He started to look away as she talked to him. "Hey, keep looking at me. Look in my eyes." She said.
He kneeled down, and looked right in her emerald eyes. "Taylor, I have no choice."
"I know… I know." She whispered, her voice shivered. She was scared, but showed her strong side. "And it's okay." She continued, "Shoot me, if you need to. Shoot me if it will release you from your pain. I will always love you, you know that. I will never ever forget you, I will never forget us."
Fear streamed in his eyes, he untied her arms and legs. She didn't stand up though, she didn't have energy to do anything. Rumple, Belle and Regina took a deep sight.
"You're doing the right thing Killian." Regina said as she took a step closer. Killian stood up, "I just have to." He pointed the gun at Taylor, and shot her through her chest. Killian faded in a purple mist, and Taylor fell on the floor searching for any air she could find.
The Enchanted Forest…
"Killian?" There was no sound. "KILLIAN?!" Taylor screamed as she ran through the dark forest. She had lost her horse, and directly lost him too. The young girl took a deep breath, making herself stop running for a second.
"Taylor…" she heard a voice softly speaking.
"Who's there?"
"Ta- Taylor… Down here." Taylor looked down, seeing Killian laying down in the deep grass with blood smudged on his face.
"Bloody hell, what happened?" She kneeled down, helping him sit up and keeping him close to her body.
"Nothing spectacular to be honest… My horse threw me off, on the thorns of the bushes beside the road." He closed his eyes for a second, "And then you were gone."
"It's okay, I'm here now." She helped the pirate getting up, "Let's get to the first village we can find and get you cleaned up."
Present time…
Her gaze faded away as her body made her eyes close as soon as they could, but Taylor's mind fought to keep them open. She had never felt so much pain before, and she couldn't even feel the bullet in her chest. She heard doctor Whale's voice, talking about how the bullet was right next to her heart. She wasn't allowed to move, she couldn't anyways. She only thing she could feel was a broken heart. It felt like her heart froze, and shattered in a thousand pieces, not able to be repaired.
"Hang on girl, we're going to get go fixed." Regina said as they pushed her through the halls.
"I love you Taylor…" Belle whispered in her ear, "Fight as you did back in the Enchanted Forest, don't let go dearie." Rumple said as the doctors took her away. Meanwhile Emma, Mary Margaret, David and Henry sat in the waiting room. Wondering if the young girl would be okay. Allison and Ruby were on their way.
"Taylor, can you hear me?" Doctor Whale asked her, without getting any response.
"Taylor? Stay with me okay."
"Where- Where is Killian…"
"He's not here sweetheart, you're safe now."
"Tell Regina… Tell Regina to get him." Taylor reached for Whale's hand, "Please."
"You heard the young lady, someone please tell Regina to get the pirate."
Hours went by, and no one dared to say anything in the waiting room. Regina had been gone for a while, searching for Killian Jones.
"Killian?" Regina entered the library. She had searched everywhere, his ship, Granny's, the Pawn Shop, Gold's house, but he was nowhere to be found.
"I'm not worth the name." There he sat, on the floor in front of the main desk. A bottle of whiskey settled besides him, untouched.
"Taylor is asking for you."
"I can't see her."
"What happened to you?"
"Your mother, happened to me. She had my heart, pushing me to pull the trigger. She never wanted to kill her, she wanted to hurt her which meant hurting the Crocodile, hurting me. She gave it back to me right sway, so I could feel the pain of my own action."
"Killian, she's going to be alright. She's in the hospital."
"No Regina, she is not!" He stood up, with tears in his eyes, "That bullet wasn't an ordinary hunting bullet, it contained magic. They won't be able to remove it, it will slowly move towards her heart. It will kill her."
"Then get your ass out of this place and come to the hospital. This isn't a fairy tale Hook. This is real life business."
The Enchanted Forest…
"Do you have a place for us to stay?" Taylor asked the man behind the desk.
"There's one room left on the third floor."
Taylor dropped a sack of golden strings on the desk, "Keep it." She said as the brunette put Killian's arm around her shoulders, getting him up the stairs and lying him on the bed.
"Taylor, you need to go. You don't know when the queen will come and get you."
"Regina is no queen to me, there is nothing to fear. I will never leave you, got it?"
She helped Killian getting his shirt off, putting oils and creams on his wounds. They were mostly deep scratches, they would heal within a short amount of time. Taylor put him in the bed, laying the blanket on top of him so he would stay warm. She waited in front of the window for hours, checking if any black knights would storm into the village. But it was quiet, and it stayed quiet. Her thoughts went away and she fell asleep sitting against the wall. The thought kept haunting her down day after day. She had the same dream over and over. How she fell into a river, she as drowning, but someone pulled her out. She never saw who did, and she was desperate to know.
"Taylor… Taylor wake up." Killian kneeled in front of her as she opened her eyes in a shock, "You were screaming for help, are you okay?"
"It was just a bad dream…. I'm fine. You need to get in bed though."
"You too." He pulled her up, laying her in the bed, next to him. His energy was low, but he would do anything to carry her. Killian pulled Taylor close to his body, he buried his face in her hair, her shoulders, holding her close and stroking her softly until she fell back to sleep.
Present time…
Regina walked into the room where Taylor was in, "Here he is."
She brought Killian in, who walked to her bed, with pain in his heart. "Taylor-"
"Shh…" She said, "Hey, it's alright. I told you I love you, and it will be fine."
Doctor Whale walked in, "Taylor dear, Killian just told me what happened." He kneeled down next to her bed, "That bullet in your chest, is moving towards your heart."
"Can't you get it out?" Regina said. Belle, Rumple and Emma walked in.
"Great, we're having a little hospital party here." Regina rolled her eyes as Emma walked up to her, "This is her family Regina, so keep your sass for yourself."
"They can't." Killian took a short pause, "They can't get the bullet out, because it contains dark magic."
"Wait, so she will die?" Belle looked at Rumple who swallowed, "I cannot do anything against Cora's magic…"
"No, no she cannot die. Rumple please, you can't-" Belle burst out in tears, burying her face in Rumple's chest.
A great silence fell down, there was nothing they could do was what them was told.
"Hey… Killian, come here." Taylor whispered, as Killian brought his face close to hers, "Bring me to the town line."
"My dear, we cannot move you… Why would you want to go there?"
"There-" she took a deep breath, "There is no magic out of Storybrooke."
"Taylor you won't be able to remember who you are." Emma said.
"Actually, she will. Taylor is the only person who didn't catch on the curse fully…" Regina said.
"That's impossible." Belle looked up to Rumple.
"I made a loophole for myself, to know who I was during the curse. I made a loophole for Taylor too, so she could leave town whenever she wanted. She has just never done it before. There was only one condition… We won't be able to see her when she crosses, she will only see us." Rumple swallowed.
"There must be another way." Regina said, "This is insane!"
"Insane is the only option…" Taylor's breath became heavier every second, "I can do this, I'm ready."
"We don't have much time." Doctor Whale answered.
Emma stepped forwards, up to Taylor's bed, "Then let's get her out of here."
The carried Taylor into the car, they ran as fast as they could. They drove as fast as they could, and their fear raised… as fast as it could. And eventually they reached the town line, laying Taylor down in front of the town line.
Emma walked up to her, "When you cross the town line, call 911 right away. You will feel the pain of the bullet, and you will need help. It won't move anymore when you're over there and you're going to get great help."
"Understood Emma…" Taylor responded, "Hey Emma, thanks for saving us… I couldn't wish for a better time in Storybrooke with you."
Emma's eyes teared up, "I can come with you, you know?"
"I think I can handle it." Taylor smiled.
"Stay strong girl, you got it okay?" she stroke her cheek gently and stepped back.
Henry walked up, with tears streaming down his cheeks. "Taylor… you should have this." The young boy gave her a stone, just an ordinary stone you could find on the ground.
"What's that Henry?"
"Just something so you'll remember me… I wrote my name on the bottom…" he said as Taylor flipped it over. It said from Henry. "Henry, you're amazing. I will never lose this." She said as he nodded and walked back.
Regina walked up, "I will see you again okay? We will find a way to get you back."
"Regina, it's okay. I will take care of myself."
Regina bended over and whispered, "You were the only one who believed in me, thank you…"
Belle and Rumple walked up, "Hey…" Belle swallowed, "I'll miss you when you're gone."
"I've searched for you, back in the Enchanted Forest. Belle I ran away to find you. I'm so sorry that I need to go now." Taylor couldn't handle it anymore and started crying.
"Shhh… It's okay darling. It's okay…" Belle stroke her forehead, "You will never be gone, you're always in here… In my heart." She kissed her forehead and walked over to Emma and Regina.
"Hey Rumple… I hope you will still see me as your daughter…" Taylor's talking became slower, her breathing heavier.
Rumple's voice shivered, "I'm so sorry that I can't do anything dearie, you will always be my daughter. I love you okay? I never really told you, but I do love you." He had grabbed her hand and held it tightly.
"Lucky… Because I love you too."
A van rushed over to the town line, stopping where the other cars where settled. Moe French jumped out, and was held back by David. "Can I at least say goodbye to her, please." Taylor nodded and David let him through.
"Forgive me Taylor… Forgive me for everything."
"Hey dad, it's okay… I forgive you. Please spend some time with Belle even though it seems that she wouldn't want to. Please do."
"Yes my girl… I will."
Everyone stood in a big group when Killian walked up to her, kneeling down in front of her. He picked her up, in her arms. She felt stone cold, and he could feel she was having a hard time breathing. "Why…" he said.
"It's an unknown answer Killian… No one knows why these things happen." She coughed, reaching for his face, just so she could feel his face. "You'll be with me, in my mind, my thoughts… my heart." Killian reached for her face and planted a kiss in her lips.
"Before I go… Killian." She swallowed, "Please tell me… did you ever rescue a girl out of a river?"
"How do you know… I was still a child."
"Because it was me."
Killian's eyes grew big, "I wish I could save you now." His face was wet as tears kept streaming down.
"You can… lay me on the other side."
"I can't Taylor, I don't want to lose you."
"You won't, you will never lose me. But you need to lay me on the other side." She kissed his forehead. He nodded and put his arms over the town line, laying her down on the other side.
From then she was gone, no one could see her. But she could see all of them. Belle's face against Rumple's chest, crying as Rumple couldn't stay strong anymore either. Regina staring into the distance, drying her eyes. But she could only pay attention to Killian's face. He was broken. Eventually he would be alright, it would take some time. Taylor burst out in tears as she called 911, asking for help. The pain of the bullet came through, stronger than it already was. She laid herself down on the road, looking right into Killian's eyes.
"I love you Taylor French Allingswood." She heard him saying.
Her eyes closed, waiting for the ambulance, "I love you too Killian Jones…"
THE END
