Seth froze at the sound of the gunshot. His entire body tensed, expecting the pain to tear through him. But nothing came. He raised his head cautiously to see the bullet lodged in the wall in front of him. A quick look at Lily told her she hadn't been hit either. However, he could sense the new presence in the room. A very familiar presence.

Randy's grasp on the still-smoking gun did not waver. "Next time, I won't miss," he snarled at Seth, who had turned around to face him. "Move." he instructed with a flick of the gun to the right. Seth knew he was better off obeying if he was going to get Lily and himself out alive from this.

With another wave of his gun Randy continued to bark orders. "Hand over your weapons. And do not insult my intelligence by telling me you haven't got any," he added, his cold blue eyes narrowed at the other man. "I checked the boys outside, the ones you offed, and they're all unarmed. So drop them. Now. You do anything funny and I'll put a bullet in each of those pretty eyes of hers." He trained his aim on Lily, who remained seated in the chair, to emphasize the gravity of his words.

For a long, tense moment, Seth watched his former colleague, aware that this was no idle threat. Reluctantly, he withdrew the guns he'd retrieved, throwing them at Randy's feet. The older man kicked them to the side and out of reach. "I knew you'd find us," he began, his hard gaze never leaving Seth's. "As a matter of fact, I was counting on it. I mean, you're the great Seth Rollins. The Alpha of assassins. The best of the best. But that's all bullshit now, isn't it? It's always been bullshit." Tilting his head to the side, his lips pulled back in a mocking sneer. "Look at you now. Look what you've done to yourself. You're weak. You're pathetic. Your reputation, all that hard work you put in for The Authority...you threw it all away for her."

Going behind Lily, he looped his arm around her neck and yanked her back against him. She hissed with pain as the steel chair pressed into her bruised back. Seth immediately stormed forward, his hands clenched into fists.

"Watch it now, Seth," Randy's voice dripped with venom. "Take another step and I'll promise you, you won't recognize her by the time I'm through with her."

At this, Seth hesitated, a momentary flash of concern passing across his features. Randy must have seen it, because Lily heard a low rasping chuckle emanating from his throat. At the sound of his laughter, however, Seth's expression closed down once more and he started to move forward again.

"You think I'm joking?" The amusement vanished from Randy's tone. "Just keep walking toward me and I'll show you how serious I am." To illustrate his point, he tightened his hold around Lily's neck, temporarily shutting off her flow of air. The blonde woman gasped and clawed at his arm, spots of black appearing on her vision. "I'll snap her neck before you even get close." Randy finished, practically spitting out his words.

Seth stopped, subdued by this threat. There was silence for several seconds as the two men stared at each other like a pair of gunslingers. Then Randy eventually spoke: "So you really thought you could get away with turning your back on The Authority? After everything we did for you? How selfish could you possibly be? How stupid?"

Seth said nothing, only continued to stare down the other man. His fingers itched.

"Luckily, there are moments where second chances are granted, and guess what, Seth? Today's your lucky day. You have one more chance to do the right thing. You can still get back in The Authority's good books. This little flower right here in my arms? She is your weakness. We don't accept weaknesses. You know that. I kept her alive not because I wanted to, but so you could do the honors and finish her off yourself. I want to help you get rid of your weakness. You failed to eliminate her the first time, but you can redeem yourself now. You have to kill her, Seth."

Seth did not move. Randy's eyes narrowed ominously as he harshly tugged Lily's head back. "Kill her," he warned, "or I'll kill you both."

"Why? Because Hunter said so?" Seth countered. "Because of the precious Code? Everything you know about the Code was built on a lie, Randy. If you think I'm so weak and pathetic because I fell in love, then I suggest you go talk to Hunter, or at least take a look in the mirror yourself!"

Randy laughed, but it sounded forced, unconvinced. "The fuck are you talking about?"

"You think I don't know about you and your sordid little past? You thought your family didn't love you because they dumped you in that foster home, and you were moved around until you were sixteen. You took out your anger on all those poor little kids who only wanted to be friends with you-"

"Do you honestly think psychoanalyzing me is going to work?" Randy interrupted, although the previous haughty conviction in his voice had floundered. "I am a master assassin, Rollins. And unlike you, sentimental shit like that does not work on me-"

"And then there was Trish."

At those words, Lily felt Randy flinch, actually begin to tremble. She kept her eyes on Seth, silently encouraging him to keep going, that what he was doing was working.

"You loved her, Randy. You loved her for a long time," Seth reminded him. "You thought she felt the same way until you discovered she only used you to get close to your best friend. What was his name again? Dave? Anyway, you waited three months after their marriage to get your revenge. You went to her home and slaughtered her, her husband and their six-month-old twin sons. You murdered children, Randy, all because she broke your heart." The pitying looks from the younger man were now snide and mocking. "Who's pathetic now?"

Randy's eyebrows came together in a furious snarl. "At least I eliminated my weaknesses, because at the end of the day, that's all she ever was. You're standing here, about to be blown to smithereens because you can't get over your crush on this bitch. You're asking who's pathetic? I'm looking right at him. I am better than you and you know – oww!"

His taunt became an agonized howl as Lily's teeth sank deep into his arm. He ripped his limb away only to receive the back of her head smashing into his face. Seth moved with lightning speed, his heavy boot slamming into the back of Randy's head. A vicious kick in his side followed, knocking the older man unceremoniously onto his back. Seth stalked him, about to pounce, but Randy retaliated with a flick of a blade which slashed at Seth's pant leg. The ex-Authority agent yelled in pain, unable to recover in time to avoid Randy lunging and tackling him to the ground.

Lily watched helplessly as the two men beat the hell out of each other, trashing all four corners of the room. Randy delivered a brutal roundhouse kick that knocked Seth to his knees before he lashed out again, crushing the ball of his right palm cleanly between Seth's collarbone. The move was designed to leave the victim literally gasping for breath, and Seth clawed at his throat, trying desperately to will some air back into his system. In the same swift movement, Randy retrieved a gun from the floor, pressed the butt into Seth's shoulder and fired.

"No!" Lily screamed in horror as a bloody Seth writhed in agony on the floor. Randy limped his way around the chair Lily was in. His movements, though weakened, were still akin to those of a vulture. "I changed my mind, Rollins," he announced breathlessly. "You're going to watch me kill her." He seized her by the throat, bringing her roughly to her feet. "First, I'm going to fuck her until she's screaming my name like the wonton slut she is. And then, I'm going to fuck her again. With this." An evil, maniacal smile formed on his face as he revealed the same branding iron he'd previously used to blemish her body.

Lily would have done so much more, should have done more. But she was weak, damaged at the hands of Randy. However, as he boldly bragged about the torture he was going to further inflict upon her, the agitation evaporated from her expression, replaced by an icy robotic calm. Bringing up her leg, she kicked out as hard as she could and caught Randy square in the balls.

The psychotic man's eyes bulged and a strangled yelp emanated from his throat. He let go of Lily, sagging to his knees as he clutched himself with both hands. The blonde woman hit the ground back-first, coughing as she struggled to suck oxygen back into her body.

Lifting her head up, she spied one of Seth's guns, less than ten feet away. Lily shot a cautious glance toward Randy, but he was still cupping himself and moaning, his eyes full of agony. Scrambling on hands and knees, moving more out of instinct than anything, Lily crawled toward the weapon. Her body screamed with pain, but she pushed on. She stretched her hand out; her groping fingers touching the butt of the gun-

A powerful hand clamped around her ankle, dragging her backwards. Randy roughly flipped her over, straddling her and clamping one hand on her throat as he held her down and squeezed. His blue eyes blazed. "You fuckin' cunt!" he shrieked, getting right in her face, "I'm gonna rip your throat out-"

He never saw Lily move; only felt the muzzle of the gun dig in under his chin, followed by an unmistakable click. Randy froze, his wrath quickly drained away, leaving behind dread and understanding.

Lily stared up at him, her silver eyes wild with murder and vengeance. Her full lips moved, spitting out the words; "Good luck with that."

And she pulled the trigger.

The top of Randy's head exploded outward in a viscous spray of blood and brain, some of it spattering on Lily like a morbid shower of rain. A low sound of disgust escaped her as Randy's mutilated body sagged against her, pinning her to the ground. Grunting with effort, she managed to shove the body aside. She sat up, breathing heavily, then caught sight of Seth still on the ground, blood seeping freely through the top left side of his shirt.

"Seth?" she crawled towards him, grimacing with discomfort at her own battered and bruised frame. When there was no response from him, she began to panic. "Seth, answer me! Seth!"

"Motherfucker," he wheezed, and Lily sighed with relief. "Can you move?"

"I'll try." Gingerly, he pushed himself up with his good arm, rising first to one knee, then to his feet, wincing in pain throughout. His wounded arm hung limply at his side. "We've got to get out of here, now."

He managed to pull Lily with him, and both leaned against the other as they slowly made their way out of the hellhole edifice. Seth kicked the door open, cringing as the sunlight whipped his face. They limped and dragged their bloodied forms down the deserted street. They had barely made it two blocks down when a car pulled up behind them. Lily turned and instantly recognized the vehicle. F.L.O.R.A.'s. "Shit," she wheezed, moving as fast as she could. "Move, Seth!"

They ducked into another alley but were stopped in their tracks. Both of their insides plummeted with disappointment as a dead end stared back at them. They were trapped.

The sound of screeching tires and slamming car doors whirled them back around. The car had parked at the entrance of the alley, sealing their only route of escape. Two ladies - both of whom Lily recognized - advanced towards them with steely gazes and pointed guns. But it was the figure that emerged between the two women that had Lily's stomach sinking all the way down to her toes in dismay.

Jasmine's expression was cruel and merciless. "Good job, ladies. Round them up. There's a scrapyard nearby. We'll dispose of them there."
