Chapter 29
Brittany rushed down the hallway towards the principal's office. She had hoped against hope that Quinn's first day back would go smoothly, but the call saying her eldest had been in a fist fight dashed all her hopes. She hadn't dared call Santana, and Reina was giving a deposition and was unreachable so she had to pick up Lauren as well. She couldn't for the life of her understand why Quinn and Lauren had gotten in a fist fight with each other. Brittany knew they had issues, but a physical fight was beyond her comprehension.
The tall blonde turned the corner and was instantly confused. Quinn was sitting in a chair looking upset but not guilty, Mack was as far from her daughter as was humanly possible, but there was a third girl in the room as well. She was younger than Quinn and Lauren, blonde, and wearing a Cheerio's outfit. She had both hands covering her face, but the heavy bleeding was obvious. She was hunched over half moaning and half crying, and looked totally miserable.
Brittany knelt down in front of the injured girl, grimacing in sympathy, "C'mon now, let me see your nose," she gripped the girl's wrists gently, "what's your name, sweetheart?"
"Kitty, ma'am," she said demurely as she lowered her hands from her face.
Brittany whistled out loud, "That's broken alright," she patted the younger cheerleader's shoulder when she burst out crying, "It's ok, we'll get you taken care of. What happened?"
Mack growled from across the room, "She called Q a lying, dirty whore or something along those lines so I busted her in the face. You're wasting your compassion on that one; she's Hudson's new girlfriend."
Shocked by than information, Brittany sat down softly next to the injured blonde, "So you and Quinn didn't get in a fight with each other?" she asked trying to clarify.
Mack snorted, "No, Q didn't do anything wrong. The only thing she did was hold me back from finishing the job on Pussy's face."
"It's Kitty, you bitch," the injured blonde spat out nasally.
"Whatever," Mack retorted shrugging her shoulders contemptuously.
"Hey, both of you stop with the name calling," the blonde mother responded automatically.
The Principal, Mr. Figgins, opened his door and stood in the doorway, "Mrs. Lopez-Pierce?"
Brittany stood up quickly and pointed to Kitty, "Why is this child not on her way to a hospital?" she asked sternly.
The man looked taken aback, "Uhm well, uhm we've had trouble reaching her parents'," he said in a voice that implied it was none of her business.
"If that were my daughter sitting in your waiting room in pain and bleeding because you couldn't reach me, I would sue you. I'm just saying since my wife is a lawyer, we would sue you. She should at least be in the nurse's office with an ice pack on her face."
Despite their anger and nervousness; Mack and Quinn both smirked at Brittany's telling off the principal.
Figgins cleared his throat and quickly looked around, "Mrs. Stern," he yelled for his secretary. He clearly didn't enjoy his ineptitude called out.
"Yes, Mr. Figgins?"
"Why is Miss Wilde not in the nurse's office?"
"Why, you said…" the secretary looked at her boss confused by his questions. He had told her to keep calling her parents not take her anywhere else
"Get her to the nurse's office, and she deems it necessary make sure Miss Wilde gets to the hospital," he said sternly, refusing to look at Brittany.
"Yes of course, Mr. Figgins," she quickly walked over to Kitty and helped her stand up.
Brittany watched as the injured blonde left the waiting room. She turned towards the principal as he ushered her and Quinn into his office. Brittany motioned for Mack to follow her. The angry teen reluctantly got up and followed. The tall blonde sat down in front of the principal's desk with one teen on each side of her. She sat and waited for the man to tell her what happened.
He sat down, took off his reading glasses, and started to clean them with his tie. He flatly refused to look anyone in the eye and it was starting to annoy Brittany. She was very grateful that Santana wasn't here to see what was going on. She sighed hoping it would hurry him up, she still had things to get done this afternoon, and she was trying to keep her anger with Quinn and Lauren under wraps until she got details. This man seemed even more incompetent than Principal Roy was in her day.
"Mr. Figgins?" she questioned to get the meeting started.
"Oh, yes, sorry…. Well, from what I was told by an eyewitness Miss Wilde was attacked unprovoked….."
Mack sat up quickly, "That's a lie; I was talking to Quinn privately when Kitty forced her way into the bathroom and started screaming insults at us."
Brittany put her hand on the girl's knee, "Quinn? Is that what happened?"
"Yes, ma'am. Mack asked her to leave, but Kitty started screaming insults at both of us," Quinn quickly and politely answered her mama.
"It doesn't alter the fact that Miss Mack…."
Mack started to sputter angrily, but Brittany broke in quickly to diffuse the situation, "Her name is Lauren Gallagher; Mack is merely her nickname. I believe all the information you need is in the file in front of you."
Quinn's head snapped towards her mama. Brittany was always cheerful and polite, but she had been snappish bordering on rude towards the man. It was very unlike her mama. Figgins had noticed as well, and his tone turned icy, and his face turned to stone, "Be that as it may, Miss Gallagher assaulted Kitty Wilde and will be very lucky if she doesn't get arrested for assault. In the meantime both your daughter and Miss Gallagher are suspended pending a hearing," he finished nastily in his thick accent.
"Quinn didn't do anything," Mack protested loudly jumping out of her seat, "I swear to God, Ms. LP! The only thing she did was hold me back from going after Kitty again. She was only in the bathroom talking to me. It was lunch period, she wasn't even skipping class or anything," she felt tremendously guilty about getting Quinn in trouble on her first day back.
"Lauren," Brittany warned softly, "shhhhh, sit down please."
"But!" Mack started to argue.
"It's ok, honey," Brittany soothed, "I heard you."
Mack looked around quickly, all the while avoiding meeting Quinn's eyes. She huffed, plopped back into her seat, and crossed her arms petulantly, "Fine."
The tall blonde shook her head, rolled her eyes, and muttered under her breath, "teenagers," she then turned and glared at Mack, "knock off the attitude, Lauren Noel, you are in enough trouble already." Brittany turned her glare towards her oldest daughter, "Quinn? Is what Lauren said true?"
Quinn squirmed in her seat. She didn't want to get her girlfriend in trouble, and she couldn't help feeling that she was still her girlfriend; despite the earlier anger, Mack had been defending her like crazy. She had been the definition of a white knight, and it filled Quinn with hope for their future.
"Quinn!" Brittany's scolding tone interrupted her day dreams.
"Sorry, mama; I didn't fight anyone or hit anyone," the blonde teenager said hoping she was vague enough to keep Mack out of any more difficulty.
Brittany looked at the inept Principal, "So I guess that means that Quinn isn't suspended then?" She could see his jaw clenching, and his breathing get heavier. It was clear he was furious.
"Yes, that would be correct then, Quinn is not suspended. Although, Miss Lopez-Pierce," he turned and looked at Quinn with barely concealed contempt, "it isn't a very auspicious beginning to your return to high school."
Quinn felt and looked like she had been sucker punched, and her mama rounded on the man angrily, "I beg your pardon?"
"She hasn't even been back to school for four hours, and we are already having a conversation in my office. I'm sorry, Mrs. Lopez-Pierce but those are the facts," he said smugly. He hated these troublemaking women in front of him. The school was on track for a winning football team, and he was to receive the cash bonus for assuring it until Quinn Lopez-Pierce and her sister stirred up trouble. Now Finn Hudson had left the team, and they hadn't won a game since.
Brittany stood up abruptly, "I'm sure my wife will want to speak to you about your attitude, Mr. Figgins," she turned to Mack and Quinn, "girls, please come with me." She said dismissively to the arrogant idiot in front of her.
The two teenagers stood up quickly and followed a fuming Brittany into the hallway. She glared at the nosy secretary until she turned away. She then turned to Quinn and spoke softly, "Sweetie, it's your choice; you can stay the rest of the day here at school or you can come home with Lauren and me."
Quinn straightened her shoulders, "I don't want to leave early on my first day back. I don't want people to think Finn Hudson has won anything today."
Brittany leaned forward and kissed her daughter on the forehead, "Are you sure, baby? You have nothing to prove to anyone; not me, not that principal, and certainly not Finn Hudson."
Quinn threw her arms around her mama and hugged her tightly, "thank you, mama. Thank you for saying that. Sometimes I feel like the whole world is judging me, and I can barely stand it. I want to stay; I want to stay for me, not anyone else."
Mack stood off to the side trying not to eavesdrop, and trying not to feel intrusive. She was about to walk away when the two blondes broke their embrace and parted. Brittany sighed and turned towards the brunette, "C'mon, trouble lets go wait for your mother."
"She's not my mother," Mack grumbled under her breath. She was shocked by the stinging swat that was swiftly delivered to her backside. Clearly she hadn't spoken softly enough. She noticed Quinn hiding a smirk so she glared at her in embarrassment. She followed Brittany out into the hallway.
"We need to get your books out of your locker," Brittany pointed out, "lead the way please."

It was ten minutes into the silent, uncomfortable car ride to the Lopez-Pierce home when Brittany turned off the radio and spoke first, "you want to talk about what's going on before Reina picks you up?"
"No," Mack said shortly.
Brittany stayed quiet until they pulled into the driveway. She turned off the car, took the keys out of the ignition, and stuck them in her purse. Taking off her seatbelt, she turned to look at the sullen girl in the passenger seat.
Mack squirmed under the older woman's inspection, "what?"
"Do you remember the first time we met?"
Mack nodded, and for the first time in a month she smiled, "Yeah I was trying so hard to be cold and hard, and all bad-ass."
"You had such an angry, sad look in your eyes. I've always regretted not pushing you until I got to the bottom of what was going on in your life. If I had known about your mom leaving, and your dad's alcoholic, abusive behavior…."
"I would have never told you. I didn't trust anyone back then."
Brittany leaned forward and put a hand on the girl's arm, "I don't think you trust anyone anymore, Lauren. You are acting like the same sad, angry girl as when I first met you; babe you are openly hostile to everyone. You are fighting again, staying out late, arguing with your mother," the blonde held her hand up in the teen's face, "she is your mother, Lauren and you know it."
"So?"
"It's only been since this fight with Quinn that you've gone back and hidden behind your walls. Honey, Quinn loves you, Reina loves you, Santana and Rachel love you, and I will always love you. You can push us away all you want, but we are never going anywhere. You are part of this family, and you just have to stop running when things get painful and hard."
"She lied to me, and I caught her with Sam Evans," Mack whispered.
"I know, she told us. She lied to us about where she was going as well and spent three of the last four weeks grounded. I know she hurt you, and I appreciate that you're angry and feel betrayed so believe me when I say I'm not taking her side in this. I was angry and disappointed as well, but I can appreciate how anxious and afraid she was about the plea bargain. It doesn't make it right, but I get why she turned to Sam."
"That's just it; I was trying to help, offering to help but she ignored all my offers and went to Sam!"
"I know; Santana pulls the same crap with me. It really pisses me off sometimes. Quinn and her mom are so much alike sometimes; they always feel like they have to be the knight on the white horse, protecting us from the world and all its difficulties."
Mack looked at Brittany in awe, it was the first time she had spoken to her like an adult. She just nodded mutely.
"I guess what I'm trying to say, Lauren is that relationships are hard but part of loving someone is learning how to deal with all their crap, letting them see and deal with your crap, and forgiving them when they screw up just as you hope they can forgive you when you screw up. Get it? Open the door just a little and at least let Quinn explain herself. I think you owe it to yourself; your actions today showed how much you still care about Quinn and how protective of her you are. I think you still care about her."
Mack felt tears running down her cheeks, and she angrily wiped them away, "I don't care anymore."
"You can lie to Quinn, you can lie to Reina, and you can lie to me. The only person you are hurting is yourself. I love you, and I beg you; please don't lie to yourself. You deserve so much better than what you are allowing yourself to feel. Just think about it, ok?"
"I will," Mack allowed.
"You promise you will really think about it. You're not just saying that to make me shut up?" Brittany teased.
Mack smirked and rolled her eyes, "I promise I will think about it."
"That's all I can ask, and go easy on Reina; she's new at this parent thing especially of a moody, pain in the butt teenager who is miserable and taking everyone with her."
Mack snorted, "Hey!"
"Still love you, Lauren but you have been a huge pain in the butt," the blonde laughed and got out of the car, "c'mon, Reina will be here to pick you up soon, and it's time to face the music. You are in serious trouble, young lady."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah…. There's the Ms. LP I know and love," the teen sassed back playfully. She was still angry and uptight but at least she felt like someone understood her, and it felt good.

Two hours later, Mack was sitting at the Lopez-Pierce kitchen table writing lines. After eating a snack forced on her by Brittany, she had been handed a notepad and pen and told to write down the full account of what had transpired in that bathroom at school. When she was finished, the tall blonde gave her the sentence that Reina had given her to write until either the detective got home or her hand fell off; whichever came first.
I will stop punching people and find an appropriate outlet for my anger.
Mack sighed, made a fist, and shook out her hand; she hated writing lines like she was a naughty ten year old. Not only that, but she hadn't been given a set number of lines, she was told to keep writing until Reina told her to stop. It seemed like cruel and unusual punishment to her.
The brunette leaned over the legal pad and started another set of lines. She was startled when the back door banged open and Santana and Reina entered the kitchen. Her caramel colored eyes met her foster mother's angry glare, and she quickly went back to concentrating on her writing. She was not about to stare into the face of an angry mama bear; she valued her life at least a little bit.
She was shocked when Santana spoke to her first, "YOU, my study, NOW!" she pointed a well manicured finger at the teen trying to be invisible at the table.
Brittany turned from the sink with a shocked look on her face, "Santana, sweetie I've already spoken to Lauren so it's been handled."
Santana glanced at her wife, and turned back to a shocked Mack, "I said my study, NOW!"
"But, San…."
"Brittany, I've got something that needs to be said," With that she turned and walked towards her study. A reluctant Mack followed along behind her sullenly.
It wasn't that she didn't trust Santana Lopez-Pierce, but she definitely had a healthy respect for the woman and her anger. She really didn't think Quinn's mom would hit her, but something she had done had really pissed her off. It made her really nervous.
Santana held the door open for her as she walked into the study. The Latina locked the door and turned to face the anxious teenager. She slowly walked over to her, and just when Mack looked like she was about to faint; Santana pulled the girl into an intense hug and squeezed until she was out of breath.
"Thank you," Santana choked out.
Mack was shocked into silence. She thought Santana was going to kill her, not hug her, "Ms. LP, I can't breathe," she squeaked out as her face turned purple and she felt like her head would explode.
The older brunette instantly let Mack go, and quickly turned her back to the girl and pretended to shuffle some papers on her immaculately clean desk.
"Uh, Ms. LP?" Mack began, "thank you for what? In case you didn't notice I got suspended for breaking someone's nose."
Santana turned around, and leaned against her desk and folded her arms, "If you repeat what I'm about to say not only will I deny it, I'll kick your ass. Got it?"
Mack nodded vigorously knowing that Santana Lopez-Pierce didn't make idle threats.
"Q was really nervous and upset about going back to school today, but you and Puckerman pulled off a miracle and rallied a group of friends she didn't even know supported her. I could have kissed you right then, but I didn't think you would appreciate that," Santana smirked, "but when that douche Mr. Figgins called and said Quinn had gotten into a fight with you in the girl's room, I wanted to kill you with my bare hands."
The teen's big, brown eyes went wide and round, "but I didn't get into a fight with Q…."
Santana held up her hand to calm the girl, "I know, I know… Britt straightened everything out. She told me what Hudson's new victim, oh sorry, girlfriend said to Q and I was honestly glad to hear you broke her nose. It meant I wouldn't be tempted to throw my career out the window, assault a minor, and go to prison with Large Marge as my roommate since you handled it and I didn't have to; not to mention that Brittany would probably divorce me for getting into a fight with a teenager."
Mack snorted at the sentiment, "This would be the part you'll deny with your dying breath, right?"
"Absolutely," Santana rolled her eyes, "Look, you didn't have to look after Q today. I know you two are going through a difficult time. What that girl said to her could have ruined school for her forever, but you saved her today. I can never thank you enough for defending her and not leaving her to take that bullshit abuse all by herself. That said; I also know that your anger is out of bounds lately; as is your attitude. You've been warned to straighten up your act, and stay out of trouble. I also know that Reina is pissed off, and is probably going to paddle your ass for getting into another fight and getting suspended. I agree with her. I just needed to let you know that Q might not have survived today without you, Puckerman, and all your friends. So while I sympathize with you being in trouble, I appreciate you having Q's back."
"Kind of a mixed message, don't you think?" Mack sassed.
"Get out of my study before I beat your ass myself," Santana growled but winked to soften her threat.
Mack smiled, looked down at the floor, and nodded, "I will always have Q's back," she whispered softly, "I love her."
"I know, kid," Santana whispered back, "it'll work out. I'm pretty sure she still loves you too."
"I gotta go and face Reina sooner or later," she turned towards the door to leave, "unless you would consider helping me get into the witness protection program?"
"And explain to Quinn, let alone my wife that I helped you disappear? I'm a badass, but I'm not that brave. Get out of here, and go face the music. Try the easy way for once, and not give Reina a bunch of attitude tonight?"
Mack grimaced not looking forward to tonight at all, "I'll try," she was just about to walk out the door when Santana called out to her.
"Hey, kid? This whole family has your back. Don't give up on love; it's hard to trust; I get that and I've been there, but don't throw Reina and Britt, me, Q, Rach, and Puckerman away just because your parents were assholes; we all really love you."
Mack felt her throat tighten so she just nodded and shut the door quietly.

Reina led the way into the apartment. It was starting to get late, and they had things to talk about tonight, "Go take your shower, and get in your night clothes. We have a lot to talk about, and I don't think you are going to want to do it after we get through talking."
Mack felt her stomach flip flop at the implication of what was going to happen to make her not want to shower later. She had a very good idea what was going to happen during their "talk". They had a similar "talk" after she had run away to her father's house and scared the hell out of Reina. She hurried to her room, and shut the door. She pulled out the clothes she wanted to change into, and headed back into the bathroom to shower. Her mind was a thousand miles away the entire time. It was swirling against the loving thoughts that Quinn, Brittany, and Santana had filled it with, and her fear was fighting against common sense. Mack barely remembered showering, she was so distracted. Quickly putting her night clothes on, she reluctantly headed out to face Reina.

Finn Hudson sat in the front seat of his beat up green pickup truck, a very anxious Kitty Wilde next to him, "Can't you do anything right?" He had just grudgingly picked her up at the clinic; he still had plans for her even though she fucked up this one royally.
Kitty's lip quivered, "I did my best, Finn. I did it for you," she said painfully. Her head hurt so badly, and they hadn't filled the pain prescription yet.
"I wanted Quinn arrested for assault! I want that fucking whore to have to deal with all the humiliating shit I had to go through. I wanted her fucking doe eyed mother to have to cry over her, and I wanted to wipe the smirk off that arrogant bitch spic mother of hers. Instead Quinn didn't get into trouble at all. I could care less about Mack," he spat angrily as Kitty cringed.
"I'm sorry, Finn. I did exactly what you said to do."
"Are you trying to blame me for your failure," he screamed in rage. He leaned menacingly towards Kitty, his face turning red in his fury. Instinctively she leaned back and covered her face as tears filled her eyes. She was sure he was about to hit her, and her nose was still throbbing.
"No, of course not," she stuttered anxiously, "I'm sorry I'll fix it."
"Forget it. If I want something done right, I should have known to do it myself. I just thought I could trust you."
Kitty sat up quickly, her fear forgotten. Finn Hudson had been the way to her popularity, but now she was in love with him. She couldn't bear the thought of losing him now, "Are you breaking up with me?"
"Well you're not much use to me if you can't help me," he pouted. His mood going from high to low, he played on the insecurities of the blonde cheerleader next to him, "I guess it's lucky you are so cute," her flirted throwing her a bone. He put the car in reverse and backed out of the parking lot, smirking knowing he had Kitty hooked still.
"I won't let you down again, Finn. I promise," Kitty said desperately.
He knew he needed a way around the restraining order, and Kitty was the perfect foil for that. He had a goal, and destroying Quinn Lopez-Pierce was the only way to quench his anger and resentment; it was the only way to silence his demons. She had ruined his life, and he would gladly repay the favor; no matter what it took or who he used to do it. He was sure Rachel hated Quinn, and she was the perfect partner but he underestimated her love for her sister. She had really disappointed him so she must pay as well. Quinn Lopez-Pierce was the only girl he would ever truly be able to love, but she had disappointed him, betrayed him, laughed at his love, and humiliated him. He would make sure she paid for it.

Mack stood in the doorway, and looked apprehensively at Reina sitting on the couch staring off into space. She cleared her throat, "Hey, I'm done."
Reina jumped like she had been startled.
"I'm sorry; I didn't mean to scare you," Mack said quickly.
Reina smiled warmly, "I was just lost in thought. Come out here, and sit down. We need to talk."
Mack ambled over and sat down on the couch next to her foster mother. She had made a decision in the shower, and now was as good a time as any to tell the woman who had been so kind to her.
"Mack, I know you're upset about your fight with Quinn but every time you bury your feelings they wind out exploding into these outbursts and you wind up in a fight. Your attitude with me and your teachers has been terrible, and I can see your temper is always simmering at a boiling point. I'm not even sure I can prevent you being charged with assault after today; you hurt that girl pretty badly. When is it going to stop? When you kill someone?"
The teenager felt sad and guilty at worrying Reina, but angry and defensive at the same time. It only furthered her resolve, "I think I should go. You can send me to a group home, once I graduate I can take off and not be a problem anymore," she muttered sadly looking at her hands in her lap, "It's the only decision that makes sense, and prevents anyone from getting hurt anymore than they already have been."
"What?! I'm not sending you away! You are part of my family; I consider you my daughter. I want to make this a permanent situation, and I thought that's what you wanted as well?" Reina was astounded, yet if she was honest with herself she knew Mack was pulling away, "Nothing you just said makes any sense at all."
"It will just fix everything. I'm just a giant fuck-up, Reina. I'm damaged goods. I hurt Q, and I will wind up hurting you as well, if I haven't already."
"Mack, baby… you are not a fuck-up. You're a human being, and you have made a few mistakes; who hasn't? I know I have; I should have stepped in sooner as soon as I found out about your fight with Quinn; when I saw you slipping away inside yourself. I am not giving up on you, and I'm not sending you away. Part of loving someone, making yourself vulnerable to someone is to take the chance that you'll be hurt. It will always be worth the pain. You just haven't had time to see that."
"I don't want to be hurt, I 'm sick of being the one who hurts! My mother, my father, Quinn….. I can't survive anymore, don't you get it," she screamed at her shocked foster mother.
"I do get it, believe me, I do. Yes; your mom left, and your father is an abusive drunk. It is more than anyone should have to deal with, let alone a kid, but Quinn is different. She messed up, I give you that, but you ran before she could and you know it," Reina said passionately trying to get Mack to see the truth, "and if you keep running you'll lose everyone and everything and you will never be happy being alone. It's a coward's move, and you are not a coward or a quitter. I know you, you're a fighter. Fight for yourself, baby, for your happiness. You deserve to be happy, to be loved."
Mack shook her head sadly, "No, I really don't."
Reina took Mack's hands in her own, "You love that girl, and she loves you. Let her explain herself. Brittany, Santana, and even Rachel love you; that gives you an extended family. Puck, Sheila and the rest of your group love you; that gives you friends and a support system. I love you more than I can say; I want to adopt you and make you legally my child; and that gives you a mother who will never leave you. Do you have the courage to stay, and be a member of this crazy family?"
Mack bit her lip, and Reina could feel her trembling next to her.
"Baby, you will never forgive yourself, and you will regret it if you don't at least give Quinn a chance to explain," the detective whispered calmingly, "I will always be at your side no matter what happens, and I will love you no matter what you choose to do. Just try… don't give in to the fear and pain. Not everyone is like your biological mom and dad."
"If I stay, our talk is going to include a punishment for today, won't it?" Mack teased trying to lighten the mood.
Reina rolled her eyes playfully, "What do you think, trouble maker?"
"I'm scared," Mack said flatly.
"Of me?" Reina said shocked.
"NO, I'm not afraid of you, and believe me I know I deserve whatever punishment I get. I'm afraid to let myself hope for a real family, or to show Quinn how much I still love her."
Reina sighed sadly, "So hold my hand, and let's take this one step at a time. I think your actions defending Quinn today spoke volumes to her and to everyone else. It might be a lot less painful than you think."
"Not the part that comes next, though…" Mack's face colored a deep red.
"No that part you might not find very comfortable. Are you ready then to stay and be part of this family?" Reina said her voice taking on a stern note, "to accept the consequences of your actions?"
"Yes," Mack said shyly.
Reina stood up, "Let's take this into your bedroom. Stop in the bathroom, and grab the wooden hairbrush," she was all business now.
-0-0-0-0-0-0-
Mack walked over to where Reina was sitting in the big, armless chair and handed her the hated brush. The older Latina patted her lap indicating where she wanted Mack to be. The girl reluctantly lowered herself over her foster mother's lap. She squirmed a little getting into proper position with Reina helping her get settled with a quick, sharp slap to her sweatpant covered bottom.
"Why are you being punished tonight?"
Mack really thought about her answer, taking some time. She was startled by another sharp swat, "Hey, I wasn't avoiding the answer; I was really thinking," she yelled indignantly.
"You do realize you are over my knee, and I'm holding the hairbrush, correct? You might want to drop the attitude right this minute, young lady," Reina said every inch a scolding mother.
"Sorry; I let my anger get the best of me and got into another fight instead of walking away. I also got suspended, and might get into legal trouble by punching Kitty and breaking her nose," she said repentantly.
Reina sat the brush down, and started the spanking. She held Mack firmly by the waist, as she brought her hand down repeatedly; warming up her teen's bottom rather effectively. The woman had a point to make, and was determined to get through to the stubborn girl she already loved as if she had given birth to her. She knew buried deep below layers of icy resolve, lay the heart and soul of a wounded, fragile young woman desperate to love and be loved. Reina resolved to break through the walls, and help this child feel again. If this spanking could help her connect with her pain and sorrow and find forgiveness, so be it.
After a few minutes, Reina felt Mack was sufficiently warmed up. She reached for the black sweatpants, and pulled them down along with the black panties till they were residing just under the back of the teen's thighs.
Already feeling embarrassed, Mack reached back and tried to pull the panties back into place, "Please Reina, not bare."
"I'm sorry, baby but those are the rules and you knew that when you broke them," she said firmly. Without any further discussion she grabbed Mack's hand and gently held it in place as she began a more punishing rhythm on the bare, pink backside that was over her knee.
The loud crack of flesh on flesh echoed around the room just before the painful sting would blossom on Mack's bottom. She found herself squirming in place trying to avoid Reina's punishing hand. Her guilt at her behavior towards Kitty, Quinn, and most especially the woman who cared enough to try to keep her in line caused her chest to heave and her eyes to fill with tears. Mack tried to distance herself from the pain, guilt, and the feelings that were coming up inside of her, but found Reina's sharp, rapid, cadence of stinging slaps on her bare bottom prevented her from mentally escaping. It was becoming painful, and Mack moaned out loud after a particularly sharp swat. It felt like a swarm of wasps had stung her backside, but strangely it helped her feel loved and accepted. It was too confusing to delve into while being punished so thoroughly.
When Reina spanked she didn't just concentrate on the rosy pink bottom in front of her; she paid particular attention to the tender sit spots, and the top of Mack's thighs. She was paying close attention to the teen's reactions. She was trying to break through her walls, not abuse the girl. She knew Mack was starting to get uncomfortable by the moans, the squeaks when she hit her thighs, and the increase in the girl's wigging. She let go of Mack's hand to hold her in place tighter, "hold on to the chair leg, I don't want to see your hand back here again," she said sternly without breaking stride. Mack quickly obeyed, not wanting to make her foster mother any angrier.
Just when Mack thought she couldn't stand the sting or pain any longer, and was about to start sobbing like a child she felt the spanking stop. Her heart nearly stopped when she remembered the hairbrush. She turned her head slightly, and watched with dread as Reina picked it up. Mack almost begged, but she knew it would do no good anyway. She turned back and stared at the beige carpet for a second, finally closing her eyes in anticipation when she felt the cool wood sitting on her fiery backside. She tried to prepare herself, but gasped in shock and pain when Reina brought the brush down hard on her hot and already throbbing bottom. She barely had time to catch her breath when the wooden brush cracked down once and then again. The fourth time the brush descended and caught her sit spot; she bucked up and tried to get off Reina's lap squealing for mercy.
"Oh no you don't, young lady. We are not finished here," Reina was shocked Mack wasn't crying yet so she added more heat.
Two more cracks of the wooden brush on Mack's tender skin brought the teenager to tears, "Owwwww, I'm sorry…" she cried wiggling wildly. Reina responded by hooking her legs over the teenagers kicking ones.
The sound of the wood on flesh was immediately followed by a gasp, and a cry, crack "Owww, please…. Crack, That hurts, please stop…..crack, I'm sorry, I get in anymore fights…crack, owwwww…. Tears were pouring down her cheeks, mixing with her runny nose and she sobbed and sniffled trying to stay under control. She squirmed from side to side but there was no escaping the paddling she would not soon forget. Her legs held firmly in place left only her feet free to kick the carpet as she tried to escape the awful hairbrush as it crashed over and over on her bottom, and her sit spots. Mack heard her voice, and it sounded hoarse from the tears and cries. She finally gave up fighting and lay over her mother's lap desperate for her punishment to be over.
Reina didn't think her heart could take much more, and Mack's bottom was a shiny, cherry red. She started padding the upper thighs, which brought genuine tears of repentance, and squeals of pain, followed by cries for mercy. Finally Reina knew Mack had reached her limit when she heard, "Mama, I'm sorry please no more, please no more," followed by choking sobs.
Reina immediately dropped the brush, and pulled the sobbing teen onto her lap. Mack's arms went instinctively around Reina's neck and she sobbed into her chest, "Please forgive me, I'm so sorry….. I love you, I do love you and I won't run anymore."
"Shhhh, baby it's all over you are forgiven. I love you too, sweetheart. Don't cry, Mama's got you, baby."
They stayed that way for a few minutes, until Reina led Mack over to her bed and helped her get in under the covers, "Do you want to put on your panties or sweats?"
"God, NO!" Mack said tearfully as Reina tried not to laugh as she remembered her own nights spent sleeping on her stomach after a session over her Mami's lap. She tucked her in sweetly, and leaned over kissing her on her forehead.
Mack reached out and grabbed her arm, "Stay, please?" she was still sobbing.
Reina turned off the lights, crawled into bed, and scooted back against the headboard as Mack quickly crawled over putting her head in her new mama's lap and reaching back to rub the soreness out of her bottom with one hand, grasping Reina's pant leg with the other.
Reina instinctively started to run her fingers through the long, dark hair trying to calm her daughter down, "It's ok now, baby. We are back on track, and everything will be fine now," she comforted letting Mack cry it out, knowing it was about more than the spanking as painful as it was, "You'll feel better in the morning. Got to sleep now, and I will stay with you and hold you for as long as you want," the hardboiled detective coo'ed softly.
"Forever, mama."
"Forever it is, baby."
The two women drifted off to sleep, both with tear streaks on their face; the mother crying for the pain she had caused her child and the teenager for finally being awakened to a lifetime of buried emotions.
