This is the last and final chapter of Street Magic. I can't believe it's been over 3 YEARS since I first came up with this amazing story! As a writer and avid Transformers fan, I'm so happy to have had the courage to publish this and have you, the amazing readers and writers, stay with me and support me through writing it! Every comment, every vote you all made kept me going and I honestly can't thank you enough. It's been a wild ride, from the very first chapter to this one. From laughing to crying, I am really happy you all enjoyed it so much! I mentioned before that I do plan on making a sequel but I don't have a plot set yet or a title so if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, let me know! Again, thank you all SO much for everything you've done for me! Please enjoy the final chapter to Street Magic!
I felt my body floating, floating like a feather in the wind...weightless. I didn't have any sense of pain nor did I have an anchor on my chest. Where even was I? Open your eyes, Emily. I thought and slowly, they opened. Everything appeared blurred for a few moments and quiet before my vision cleared. There was white in all directions. It was then I realized where I was and memories had flooded back to me, from getting shot at to teleporting to Egypt and then to reviving Cybertron. I had died. Tears pricked my eyes as I felt my heart shatter at the mere thought of it. Not only was I scared but I was also alone. Jazz had been left behind and I missed him so much along with Optimus, Lacie and the others.
Bringing my knees into my chest, I choked back a sob. I never wanted to go but yet I knew I always wanted to see my parents again. However, this isn't what I wanted to happen in the end. Primus had told me when I was reviving Cybertron that Zyon was ok and that his entity was returned to the planet as well, making me both jealous and relieved. It was quiet. Not a soul was around to give my company. I floated there for what seemed like the longest time...
It was quiet, silence filling the empty void around me before a whisper reached my ears.
The phoenix will rise...
Before I could try and understand what that meant, I was blinded by a bright light and felt my body begin to change. What was once my somewhat pale skin turned to metal and my heart...my heart began to change into something else. It no longer felt like a heartbeat, but a vibration. My eyes seemed to be almost burning but only for a few seconds before it stopped. I had to close them tight to fight the pain. My legs felt heavy for a moment while my back had a tingling sensation. My whole body appeared to be both strange and painful.
Seconds, then a minute passed. Only silence met my ears as I started to feel dizzy and blackness overcame my vision.
It felt like an eternity while I laid...well, wherever I was at the time. I didn't hear any voices or feel anything for what seemed like hours. Then, I could hear muffled, far off voices. They sounded unrecognizable to me and I tried to open my eyes only they wouldn't open. Something touched my hand and then head, something that felt like a hand. What was going on? Who was there? Again, I tried to open my eyes but black still was everywhere. The voices seemed to be getting clearer. Now, they only sounded like it was underwater talk and I could only make out a few words.
"Help-*gzzzzt*-here. *Gzzzzt* is this?"
"No *Gzzzt*."
What felt like a pair of arms carefully picked me up from under my legs and back. I tried to move, but a large weight felt like it was all over my body, not allowing me to move. Someone was carrying me somewhere but where? Minutes passed before I was set down onto a hard surface. 'A table?' I thought. A few minutes later, something sharp was stuck into my arm and my eyes jolted open as adrenaline coursed through me. A piercing, static-like shriek escaped my mouth as blurred figures raced towards me. I thrashed around, scared that I couldn't recognize them and might of hit one. Suddenly, the pair of arms that carried me here wrapped around me slowly, taking me into a hug. I squirmed again, my heart…or was it my heart, beating against my chest.
I could hear a quiet shushing and a hand rubbing my back. My body stopped moving, calming down as the voice got clearer this time. "Shhhh…Ah got you…Its ok, sweetspark." That voice….
That…voice…
It was Jazz. My heart almost stopped as my eyes finally managed to look at the blurred silver figure in front of me. His blue visor looked down at me, pain and relief in his smile as I stared at him. "It's ok. I'm here…You're here…" he whispered, his servo cupping my cheek and my heart felt like it was lifted, the bond opening up again. I could feel his worry, relief and pure happiness as my eyes watered. He was here…I could see him again. But how? Didn't I die? Was I going crazy? He stroked my cheek smiling and I grabbed his servo but stopped midway. My eyes widened as I stared at my own hand. It wasn't a flesh hand, but a metal one. My eyes traveled down to my legs which now were sleek metal pedes. My heart started beating crazily as my body shook in shock.
I was Cybertronian? Why? How? A million thoughts ran through my mind while Jazz gently took my hands and said "Em? Em, look at meh. Sweetspark, calm down. Ah know it's a lot to take in. Just breathe, ah'right?" he lifted my chin up to make me look at him.
"Jazz, set her back down so I can run an actual diagnostic." Ratchet's voice came from the other side of the room and Jazz nodded, carefully placing me on the table again. Ratchet walked over, a datapad in his servo with a concerned frown. He scanned me as a tingling sensation passed over me and he turned back around, grabbing an energon cube. He handed it to me, which I shakily took and hesitated. "You're very low on energon, which is why you are most likely feeling drained and weak." Ratchet explained. I examined the cube and slowly drank it. It had no taste surprisingly. It was odd that energon was considered dangerous to humans and now that I was Cybertronian, I could drink it. Strange. I thought to myself.
Thankfully, after drinking the cube, I began to feel better. I had many questions to ask and so did everyone else. Opening my mouth to speak, only static came out. Ratchet managed to fix my voice box, doing something to the back of my head and I tried again. "W-What happened? Why am I like this?"
Ratchet didn't have a logical answer for me but Optimus suddenly spoke up from the doorway. "You gave your life for Primus and he rewarded you by returning it to you." The Prime explained with a kind smile. I blinked, trying to make sense of it all. So that's why I felt strange after I revived Cybertron. The light, the strange body change…I stared at my servos and feet, a servo trailing down my faceplate. My frame was grey in color only because, as Ratchet explained, I had yet to acquire an alt mode. The room everyone was in was the old medbay Ratchet occupied. Bumblebee and Ironhide were also there. Bee hugged him tightly, happy to see me okay. I hugged him back with a weak smile. I was very happy to be with the Autobots and Jazz on Cybertron. Jazz embraced me and he kissed my helm. "Ah thought Ah lost ya, girly." He whispered as I rested my helm against his chassis. I was a bit shorter than Jazz surprisingly.
"I'm sorry…I didn't want to scare you or leave…" I whispered back as my optics lubricated, my servo holding his. He held me gently.
"You're here now though. Ah'm glad. Ah missed ya so much." Jazz said quietly. I managed a smile before looking up at him. Love flowed through the bond, making me relax and calming me down. Yes, I had given up my life as a human and was going to miss Dad, Mom and Belle. I hope I can go back to see them in the future, along with Lacie…
But I was with someone I cared a lot about. Jazz had helped me learn to walk again while Optimus and the others began to try rebuilding Cybertron. I heard Ironhide say that they would attempt to contact some bots that had fled to nearby planets during the war. I wasn't sure how long it would be until they came but I was hopeful. In the end, I was adjusting to my new life. The Decepticons had retreated into hiding since Cybertron's revival and Optimus was always alert, as was everyone else if they decided to show their faces again. But I had faith in us. Every day, I would look up at the sky and smile, thinking about my birth parents and my adopted family and friends. They would always remain in my spark forever. A new life and a new home…
The world seemed to be getting a bit brighter and the future could only get bigger.
