Each step brought a crunch of dead leaves and twigs, trees as a maze with twist and turns to get as far from civilization as possible. Marie observed the forest before them outlining each turn and natural trap that may slow down their progress. Her ears tuned into the noise of their own footfall and their halting breath, calming their growing fright. They couldn't go to the mansion in thought of endangering Kol and Klaus – they just had to out run Alaric.

Marie followed Sage and Finn through an open field heading to the highway, it was too open – Marie eyes widen allowing the vibrations of each step sending an outline of the landscaping ahead over turned ground. Sage's and Finn's legs went with the land underneath them as the dirt caves in. On reflects Marie took hold of their wrists hitting the ground half her body over the edge. Sage and Finn swung by Marie's grip; Sage looked below seeing the sharpen stakes and the smell of Vervain hit her from the water below.

Marie tensed putting all her strength to pull both of them up, Sage reach the edge crawling out and helped Finn out. Sage shakily nods, "Thanks."

Marie nods, "Stay away from open fields and piles of leaves." There must be other traps if he was just waiting for them to slip from him. Finn grabbed both of the women pressing them to move as a roar of rage shook through the trees.

"I think finding a residence will be better than running blind into danger." Finn remarked picking their speed through the brush. They couldn't argue, either they wait out for the sun or run until they couldn't any more.

Marie skidded to a stop bringing the other vampires to a stop as well. Finn urged, "We need to go –."

"No not through there." Marie pressed glancing between the tree trunks seeing the shine of the clear string, "Trip wire, he must had have time to set many throughout the woods. I go first." Marie was the one that had less effects of getting hurt for being a hybrid.

"Think Alaric is smart enough to remember his traps?" Sage remarked looking over her shoulder.

"Let's find out." Marie responded watching their surrounding for anything that may seem out of place.

Alaric's eyes glared through the similar trees, he was covered with the debris from the cave in. His hand gripped the stake as his hunter instincts took over listening to the slightest noise. His head whipped to the west hearing hushed voices carried by the wind.

His eyes narrowed pinpointing the sound but no one can be seen. "What's the matter instinct off?" Marie voice seemed to bounce off the trees taunting him. Alaric growled, circling around Marie hid in the shadow of a tree yards behind the hunter, he turned around quickly missing her in the last second.

"Where's the other two?" Alaric growled circling around to find her.

"Just you and me. Sorry for what happened to Jenna she was very nice." Marie voice circled around him it held an honest sympathy.

"Where was your thought the night your family killed her?" Alaric snarled he stepped closer to where Marie was hidden. Marie noticed his leg brushing the trip wire, a clink can be heard when the weight brush more. Marie squinted as a fire erupted around him and the trees. A grenade? Marie peeked out seeing him crispy, his skin a burned black, few spots of his body showed bone. The stake unharmed with its silver veins glisten in the remaining fire. Marie flashed towards it; the weapon was still in the death grip of the hunter.

If it was truly the last thing that can harm her family, she needs it to be in safe keeping. Marie cautiously grabbed the stake prying it out of the burn, bony fingers. The stake was cold, compared to the heat around her – it was smooth unlike any wood she had felt before. Finn and Sage should be miles away now… Marie successfully got the stake completely out of the grip.

It felt heavier then she suspected it to be, she held it with care. Marie gasped getting grabbed by her ankle falling onto the ground she flipped over seeing the corpse moving over her legs. Marie screams kicking him to get off she grabbed at the ground. Alaric flashed on top of her his skin healing fast, Marie struggled kicking, her hands were brought down by his grip Marie screamed biting into his arm. Alaric smacked her to her disbelief the bite healed without a struggle.

Alaric clawed at her hand with the stake Marie kicked him with all her strength sending him backwards. Marie gasped scampering on all fours with the stake in her hands. Flashing out of there she passed by trees in a blink of an eye not looking back. She side stepped in a last second hearing a click of a pin being release and the explosion knocked her into a tree, with only slight burns from the fire.

Marie coughed as the impact burned her insides, parts of her exposed flesh was painfully healing bloody lunatic is going to burn down the entire town. Marie mused slightly, a snap caused her to twirl around she directed the new fire at the hunter with a quick spell, eliminating the forest fire threat. Marie breathed windily backing away as Alaric still stood tall with his skin blacken and blistering red.

Mustering as much concentration she had, Marie evaporated the stake in her hands with a shine of red. To make a hunter harmless disarm him from his most prized weapon… "What good is a hunter without a weapon?" Marie taunts flashing her fangs and glowing gold eyes.

Alaric approaches her with a predatory step, "What's wrong Marie? Frighten?"

Marie held herself together with a short laugh, "Frighten of you? I have seen and experience worse." She kicked up dirt and flashed the other direction leading him for a hunt.

Klaus narrowed his eyes at the shadowed government building he could hear the massacre five miles away and haven't really thought much of it until an energetic surge went through the air when the screaming silenced. The culprit was long gone when Klaus arrived, his scent lingered in the air as Klaus entered the blood coated hallway. The scent was distinguished being vampire, although had a tint of aged, Klaus guessed around 900 years old. Sage was out of the question, for Klaus was too familiar with her scent, this one he never came across.

Klaus studied the blood stains in the floor noting whoever body been dragged somewhere else. It awed him by how much blood there was, throughout the whole hallway it was drenched in red, and it was an overkill that seemed like rage even. Klaus eyes widen in surprised as he entered the meeting room, glass shards scattered the floor pools of blood dripped from the table. He never seen something quite like this, before him around the table sat twelve pale blood-coated members, their eyes still holding that dead-stricken fear. An execution bullet hole rested between each pair of eyes, creating a single trail of blood to run down each face.

Klaus came closer to death's table noticing each member hands upon the table in a praying manner, at the head of the table was Father Young but his head rested on his hands like he was actually praying desperately. Praying is useless going against a vampire. Klaus mused dryly. His eyes caught the blood smudges in front the priest's hands, Klaus circled to the front of the table his breath stolen away. His body stiffens by the symbol painting on the table, he had seen it in his nightmares, in his trapped mind locked away centuries ago it cannot be… I had killed all five hunters – how can one descendent still be alive? Klaus thought feverishly examining every detail of the symbol, matching the same symbol upon the hunters' hand and sword.

The symbol was circled with salt and three corners inside around the symbol was a bowl with blood. What is this vampire apart of? Does he get off killing with ancient history? Trying to scare other vampires to believe the Brotherhood Five is back and once again aiming to destroy this first immortal? Klaus clutched his fists angrily.

His eyes caught the detail of how the other members are moved slightly away from the symbol on the table, facing more to the opposite wall. Klaus' head followed, he stepped right behind the corpse of the priest to have the full vision of the wall. The overkill splatters on the wall formed a symbol, there were two blood arches opposite from each other forming a crescent flower. Klaus backs away, no one should know that symbol – only a hunter would know the key to vanquish Silas was that mark upon their tattooed chest, the same mark on his daughter.

Kol jumped as a red flash brought a crash into the wall. He peaked from behind the couch spotting a stake thrust into the wall. Kol looked around quickly to see if the thrower was in sight. The stake was glistened with silver like veins as Kol approached it curiously. "Where the bloody hell you came from?" Kol remarked to the stake as he tugged it out of the wall, his hands ran through the smooth shell on the stake – white oak. Kol's eyes widen I thought Nik and Elijah destroyed the last of it. Kol flashed towards the fireplace tossing the stake in, it sparked blue crackling little sparks leaving the wood untouched.

Damn this is not good. Kol cursed snatching the stake from the fire, feeling the cool wood in his palms.

"Nik! You did a terrible job with Esther!" Kol called towards the upstairs, he closed his mouth not hearing a soul upstairs. Kol grumbled putting the stake in his jacket pocket for safe keeping what else did Nik mess up in? The Original glanced through the window scanning the dark trees on the property for any intruders.

Demetri sits high in a branch of an oak tree planning the next sacrifice with scrambling thoughts looking over the forest. The hunter Jordan set up his camp a mile west from him in an old trailer. Demetri would rather stay away from civilization as well. Especially in this town that only has a bed in breakfast, the only form of overnight stay. He sat back narrowing his eyes towards an odd start of black smoke erupting north from him then minutes later another began. A thought came to his mind about the hunter's tripwire an animal must have crossed it. He raised an eyebrow watching a figure flash by the tree he was perch upon, it was making a sort of wounded noise.

Demetri flashed after the figure from above, seeing the outline better even with the darkness of the night. It was Marie, he followed trying to get ahead she seemed to lose speed and he was slightly curious what she was running from.

She made this terrible wheezing sound as if she cannot grasp any oxygen in her lungs and her body made this sort of falling motion and catching itself every blast she took. She was injured and to his surprise he had this bite of fury building slightly in his chest. Can the hunter truly be able to injure an Original? Demetri jumped off the tree cutting in front of Marie she fell to a stop holding an arm out defensively she glanced up golden eyes staring threateningly. Her body seemed to relax only slightly seeing Demetri was the one to cut her off from her run. She narrowed her eyes seeing he now had midnight black hair.

"Hmm you thought to have a nice walk but ended into a BBQ it seems like it?" Demetri remarks slightly smirking at her seeing her slowly healing burned skin, he knew was slightly harsh but she can take it.

Marie glared at him, "Get out of my way." She put effort in standing tall but it seemed her body would give out any second.

"Seems like you need some rest, would you care to spend a night with me?" He adds, "Until you get healed of course." Having Marie like this and running seemed it would be cruel to not let her do so.

Marie stared at him as if he was on some sort of spell. "Don't you see how I am? No thank you I have better and more important business to attend to then resting." Marie hissed bumping into his side as she walked passed. Marie would have enjoyed some peace to get a chance to heal but under the circumstances she was in and the threat at large towards her family she cannot ignore it and think of herself. Especially under Demetri's watch she never trusted him even with the discovery of who he is.

"What are you running from sweetheart? Thought an old vampire like you, aren't scared of anything." Demetri remarked he was aware of hunters arriving into the town after the blast of power drove them here but equipped and trained hunters able to make an Original run? Now that is something that intrigued him. Has she found out of the Brotherhood of the Five swarm into this town after being called and having the knowledge of the key in the open? Now that must be the reason and he was amused that the hunters bothered her, it's not like they will do any harm to her she was the key to destroy Silas once and for all.

"Every creature has one thing that they fear, you should know that." Marie snapped back giving him the reminder that he told her he harvest magic for protection, must lead her to believe he fears something as well. Marie flashed away from him he followed seeing her progress slow, nope it was too pitiful seeing. Demetri caught up to her throwing her over his shoulder, "Hey!" Marie protest.

"You will thank me later sweetheart." Demetri replied flashing towards the town Marie was needed to be strong to fulfill the legend…and it disgusted him to admit it whipped him hard seeing her like that, she always had her guard up and was strong seeing her burned and exhausted wounded him. He shook his head getting the thought out he couldn't think like that Marie was the key for him to get to Silas.

Marie struggled to get him away from her, but her body was shutting down from the exhaustion of the Vervain grenade explosions and the use of magic to distance Alaric from the stake. And it frustrated her that he was the one at that moment to pick her up, she knew exactly what he was. There was no sweet bone in his body only determination and manipulation to get what he wanted. And she cannot let herself seem vulnerable no matter how exhausted she was, she cannot rely herself on this man. Marie cannot show weakness especially to a man that hungers for control and believes he can easily charm his way to get to her… she won't let that happen but sometimes she finds herself forgetting his façade. "Leave me be –."

"A man can always see a woman distraught now allow me to carry out the manner." Demetri cut her off as he flashed through the streets. Marie glares not trusting the kind gesture, she knew he wanted something but she needed the time to heal before she can go on her own to get to her remaining family members in town.

Demetri leaned on the wall in the abandon warehouse staring at Marie with the mask of kindness hiding his intrigued curiosity of what secrets were hidden behind that face. Marie didn't let her guard down he was aware by the light protection around her, but at the condition she was in, his power can easily take over hers. He was just waiting for her to let some guard down or for her exhaustion to kick in so he can have a slight peek at what defined her to become what she is. That was the one thing that frustrated him he can usually read people like an open book – especially women. But Marie she held herself, not letting anything past through her guard, most of the time she was indifferent and was difficult to read and discover – he just wanted to get some insight on her for himself rather the stories he heard of her.

"Now since I saved your life the least you can do is tell me what you were running from." Demetri said with a smirk he made sure his eyes were hidden in the shadows to not give away if anything falters his mask.

Marie laughed bitterly, "You saved my life? Hardly, the only thing you did was intrude on my progress." He bit back frustration by how difficult it was to get easy answers out of her, why can't she simply answer one question?

"Doesn't seem you were making much progress sweetheart, by how terrible you look seems like it wasn't going in your favor." Demetri remarks smirking slightly seeing the annoyance surfacing on her features, might give him something if she gives him some anger.

"You think insulting me would give you answers? Thought you were more skilled then that." Marie bite back making him smirked in amusement hiding the growing annoyance, he never thought by the stories Marie would be this difficult to earn some sort of accord or alliance.

He narrowed his eyes he needed to go by another approach, "Fine, my certain…hobby disgraces you, but nobody is perfect sweetheart just look back what you have done."

Marie glared at him, "And what have I done?"

Demetri grins, "You're name gives it away, guardian, protector of witches and humans, now what had happened to make you start protecting them hmm?" Marie looked away getting frustrated by the rising memories of how many deaths she let pass by in the centuries. He knew he hit a nerve by her angry expression and her ignoring him, he would have added more but decided not to.

"What is it that you want?" Marie looked at him an expressionless mask concealed herself again.

"I am just curious what you been running from." Demetri responded innocently starting from his first question.

Marie narrowed her eyes, what would he gain for the knowledge? "If you must know – a hunter."

Demetri raised his eyebrow slightly; his hunter was in the trailer, he was sure. Were there others he hasn't discovered yet? Or was it just the aftermath of the traps his hunter placed that she had the unfortunate encounter with? "You, the most powerful vampire, is running from a mere human hunter?" He asked, curious if she would actually share that the hunter had unique trait to him.

Marie stared at him seeing he was looking at her with doubt about the hunter. Marie hardens her glare by this man assuming she was weak because he thought the hunter was human. "This hunter is like no other he is stronger and faster than any creature has ever seen."

Demetri mused, was she aware of the Brotherhood of the Five hunter in town? The way she speaks about the hunter made him doubt it was one of those hunters. She came across them before, this hunter seem a new thing to her. He was curiously asked, "Does this hunter give off power?" He remembered the blast of power that brought him and the Five hunter to this town, was this other hunter was the one to create the beckon?

Marie eyes widen at him in surprise he got his answer, "How do you know?"

Demetri smirked slightly, "What do you think brought me here?" Marie narrowed her eyes she should have known he was already looking for more power, what more than that powerful explosion from Alaric's transformation? None of her relatives felt it, was it only to witches? Was there more motives for him coming to her or was it just the draw of the power that brought him here and he just happened to run into her?

Demetri raised an eyebrow amused, "Oh sweetheart you didn't think I came here just to find you, did you?" Marie glared by the smugness he was letting show, it just annoyed her to give him some sort of satisfaction.

"Oh wouldn't that be my luck?" Marie replied sarcastically.

Demetri actually let a chuckle slip by Marie was stunned to actually hear something genuine come out to someone who basically hid behind a disguise, faking everything he let on. "Think I'm the lucky one here." He winked at her giving that charming smile, Marie rolled her eyes. He wasn't lying; the events were all falling perfectly for him.

"Oh really am I intriguing the playboy master?" Marie acted amused with a hint of sarcasm. Demetri gave her the chiseled grin she narrowed her eyes unable to see past his defense, it curious her of what made him build so many defenses in the first place. Marie knew he was just waiting for something and she wouldn't let her guard down anyways, she wouldn't let some power hungry immortal find his way pass her defensives.

"Hmm I wouldn't say that just star struck from a legend." Demetri winks at her adding that smile Marie felt uneasily unsure what to think about it dealing with this certain man has to be cautious.

Marie stood up, done with the wooing. This man was either trying to get under her skin or catch her off guard. "I believe I am healed enough to go on my own, now if you can excuse me –."

"Why in such in a rush?" Demetri raised an eyebrow frowning slightly Marie rolled her eyes not buying it.

"Hey next time don't try too hard it makes you look too fake." Marie remarked nudging into him as she walked out, his defense fell showing his surprise and annoyance flowing his features. This woman can see through him, was she that good reading people or was he trying too hard to catch her? Either way it made him falter at the game he played for centuries.

"Huh you caught me." He put up his hands innocently looking up at her with those eyes, admitting to it can go either way for him. At least it may give him an inch in Marie's head and be in her thoughts time to time.

Marie tried not to get caught off guard with him admitting it. That would just give him what he wanted, "So how about you get out of my way and stop wasting my time." She snapped getting back on track to get back to her family.

Demetri opened his arm presenting the outside, "Go right ahead." Marie stared at him for a long second and moved past him her arm brushed his, he froze putting up an indifferent expression hiding the fact she was getting to him. He watched her leave, was for the best he needed one more sacrifice then she will be needed, there was no need of growing thoughts of her getting to him.

Marie threw open the front door, Kol flashed towards her grabbing her shoulders shaking her, "Please tell me the bloody stake that almost pierce my skull came from you." Marie stared at him he let go of her nodding, "Good thought Nik let the hunter live…" He became quiet and cursed, "Seems like I have to do the killing myself so it can be done correctly."

Marie notice Kol putting his hand into his coat pocket she grabbed his arm, "Don't, I already staked him it doesn't affect him. He is stronger than me, we need to go now."

Kol narrowed his eyes searching her face, "Finn and Sage?"

"I gave them a head start while I distract Alaric, he still in town he will not stop until all of us are dead. Where's my father?" Marie asked.

He shook his head, "No, we aren't running like cowards. We are the oldest creatures to walk this earth and one hunter will not tarnish our names. We will be damned to run, nothing should frighten us, we are the most feared."

Marie pointed at his pocket, "Unless that stake is near his clutches we aren't safe."

Kol rolled his eyes, "Then he can rip the stake out of my bloody ice-cold hands." Marie sighed there was nothing to talk Kol out of it, and if she not having any success with him there will be a lower chance for her father.

"Well you're in luck he has been tracking me, are you truly willing to go that far?" Marie remarked seeing if Kol will lower his arrogance and think.

Kol glared then looked at her appearance, "The hunter did this to you?"

Marie used the appearance to her advantage, "Like I said, would you go that far until your dead? There will be no coming back from it like the dagger." He growls, she knew Kol was too self -loving to go out of his way to get himself killed if there was a way to avoid it.

He narrowed his eyes pondering for a minute, "Death doesn't suit me well. Alright darling so want us to run to the other side of the world, like we had with Mikael? Go ahead, Nik nor I wouldn't like it, but if you truly worried this hunter is a bigger match then us then fine."

Marie glared hearing the sarcastic, unworried tone in his voice. He didn't think this was important? Marie let an irritated sigh past her, it seems she will be keeping another uncle alive. "Where's my father?" She asked again.

Klaus hid in the darkness of the forest just watching, he had followed the slight scent from the murder scene to this deserted camping ground miles away from the small town. What he had discovered were twelve witches setting camp with large tents and placing charms around their camp grounds for protection.

He wasn't sure what to make of it, the scent he smelled was vampire for sure, and maybe the vampire allied himself with witches to fulfill the prophecy? He narrowed his eyes surely something is about to happen to have this big gathering. He could smell the herbs the witches' brew that burned his strong sense of smell. The hybrid backed up slightly unsure what magic they were mustering, he already had bad history with witches that went out of their way for this ancient legend.

Klaus's stayed away from the camp site, but was able to watch the movement from a far. He knew he should just leave this blasted town and take Marie and Kol with him and leave the bloody youths to fend for themselves…but that symbol worried him more. He couldn't be certain if the symbol was just to mock him to trigger the paranoia or if it was a sign to tell him to stay and end this bloody legend once and for all.

Klaus inhaled deeply getting the slight scent of the vampire lingering in the air, tasting it to try to identify the owner. The smell he remembered came across him once before but he can't quite place it. The witches, he noticed, all turned facing east as though something drew their attention. He followed their gazes seeing an approaching white fog it contrasted in the dark forest and bounce off the flames of the camp fire. Klaus stares at it not believing his eyes, fog from his long history was never a good omen.

The witches became uneasy mumbling spells under their breath. As the fog encircle around them Klaus can barely make out faces only shadow of shapes, his ears perk hearing a slicing noise following that all too familiar gushing noise. Klaus debated in getting into the mix or rather just wait and see the outcome because if the fog was, even he hated to think of it, Esther then he would be in trouble.

Klaus became on edge as the sound of more deadly sounds of drops and chocking wrestled in the fog. His eyes widen as the fog cleared and the iron smell came to him, lumps of bodies littered the floor a figure stood tall with a blade shinning in the fire. Klaus stared in awe as the figure turned slightly he notice a white slash of teeth that can be seen and the figured evaporated in mist. Klaus blinked was he hunting a vampire or a witch?

Klaus inspected each body seeing each neck sliced open, he felt uneasy the bodies seemed lifeless not like any dead witches he encountered; usually they still held a lively power even in death. Although the atmosphere had this eerie feeling like the government building, surely the same killer but Klaus can't place the importance of the killings nor the number twelve… Well there goes his lead, if the gathering of witches weren't for the resurrection or the search of this Silas then what was their use for?

Ding dong the witches are dead Demetri remarked grinning slightly. The triangle was completed and the expression magic was coursing through his veins and atmosphere. Now he just needs to see if his hunter was ready for the trip…and the key was ready to unlock the tomb. He was aware of the Hybrid's presence at the witches' camping ground. He knew the murders of the twelve humans and the sign left on the wall will draw the Hybrid out that was what he wanted, to get his attention. A father like that was always committed to make sure nothing happens to his child and Demetri was planning on it, the legends say Marie was a slave to the spirits, old witch talk. And if Demetri was correct what more would the spirits love for the one oldest immortal that ever walked the planet was destroyed? The only thing needed is a little motivation.

Demetri inhales deeply closing his eyes feeling the power run through him, the dead witches and the expression magic made him feel like nothing he ever felt before, this type of magic was dark and so strong… He grins breaking the curse that was placed on him for years just by the wave of a hand with the power magic, didn't expect that little Bennet did you? To be honest he would miss the change of color of his hair brought more mystery and curiosity on others towards him, but to actually break the curse place on him made him feel invincible.

His ocean eyes stared at the figure in front of him he narrowed his eyes he wasn't sure what exactly he was looking at. The man was chard with sot; his eyes veined what kind of vampire can survive a fire attack and lived? Then it clicked, "You must be the hunter I presume?" So this was the hunter that Marie ran into? An itch of anger crossed him, he let it go it was ridiculous feeling he stay composed curious what the hunter was doing in these parts.

Alaric flashed towards him he side stepped him in the last second raising his eyebrow, "Guess you aren't much for good first impressions?" Alaric tried grabbing him again Demetri grabbed his arm, he shook his head gripping harder allowing the flow of expression magic rush through him electrocuting Alaric leaving the smell of burnt flesh. Demetri smirked slightly, "Didn't expect so much power hunter?"

Demetri let a glare past him, this hunter was not like any other one not even a Five member. This hunter clearly was made for destruction, and he was pleased the newly conjured magic was powerful enough to slightly subdue him. "Hmm who exactly are you and how were you created?" Demetri picked up Alaric's chin inspecting his face, surely this hunter was created he was curious by how much power was needed. Better yet what was the consequence or catch to create such a powerful being?

Alaric didn't answer, the vampire grins slightly the flow of magic became visible, "No worries there are always methods of making someone talk." Alaric was blinded by the thick magic around him, Demetri whipped up a truth spell so powerful it left behind an instinctive feeling in the air.

"You may be a use to me after all." Demetri smirked as Alaric relaxed eyes wide ready to answer.

Kol grabbed Marie from going too far ahead of him, "What is the rush darling? It's not like Nik is going to die we have the stake remember?"

"Alaric can still harm him." Marie shot in annoyance Kol rolled his eyes by her being dramatic. The tracking spell directed them towards the edge of the forest, Kol stopped in his tracks sensing a powerful presence coming their way.

"Tracking the right vampire darling?" Kol remarked slightly on edge Marie eyes widen as the feeling of power rushes through the air… This wasn't right.

"I am…" Marie trails off as a tree branch flies pass her head. Kol twirls Marie to his chest flinging back as branches launch themselves at the Originals. Kol glares in distaste as a branch skinned his arm ripping one of his favorite leather jackets.

Kol growls eyes darkening, "I'm not running like a coward, the hunter want a fight then he will get one."

"Kol don't be pigheaded, as long as that stake is in his reaches we risk death." Marie pointed at his jacket pocket. "And must I add there are no weaknesses against him?"

Kol snorted, "I don't give a bloody damn. I will find a way." Alaric stepped out of the shadows of the forest revealing his still charred skin and furious expression.

Kol chimed amusedly to Marie, "Who you think that expression for?"

"Well you did kill his girlfriend." Marie remarked flatly glaring at him. Kol nodded slightly oh-ing. Alaric flashed towards them Kol sidestepped but got caught off guard as he been knocked to the side by an incoming object. Klaus grabbed hold of Alaric's neck disregarding the annoyed Kol as he brushed off the dirt from him.

Marie was slightly relieved to see her father unharmed after worrying for hours on his whereabouts. Klaus hissed, "How many times do I have to kill you?" Alaric rip his grip from his chock hold clocking Klaus in the temple. Marie and Kol held Alaric against the tree in attempts to retrain him before Klaus was up and ready to interrogate the hunter more.

"What has Esther connected you to keep you immortal?" Klaus asked, while Kol remarked, "Think he will really tell you Nik?"

Alaric glares at him biting his lip from saying anything, Marie examine him closely feeling a hint of magic from him. A powerful spell seemed to be cast upon him recently, Marie tested it, "Who created you?"

Alaric bite out hardly, "Esther." Kol and Klaus peered at Marie baffled, Alaric seems to only talk with her.

Whatever spell was casted on him must only work for me… Truth spell perhaps? "Answer his question what has Esther bind you with?" Marie pressed. Alaric stared at her with a sort of a raging pleading look, "El—." He stopped himself biting his lips down so hard blood trickled down his chin.

Klaus smirked devilishly, "Ah, Elena…" Alaric twitched unsuspectedly his hand gripping Kol's jacket pocket – it was too late to deflect it… Kol gasp in disbelief looking down at the stake. Marie cries catching him as he falls back. Klaus enraged screams snapping Alaric's neck without hesitation.

Marie tried to pull the stake from him but some force kept it down, Marie looks at him with tears in her eyes. Kol glanced at her with blurred vision, he smirked a bit at her as his face veined and greyed, "Don't cry darling." He chuckled a little, "Hope – you two give me – a proper burial." Marie cried slightly remembering their conversation of death and how if they would be remembered. Klaus stood above them placing a blank mask his eyes blurred with unshed tears. Marie bawls resting her head on Kol's cold greyed one, she gasped as fire burst through his chest. Crying harder she grabbed onto him shaking her head, Klaus flashed behind her trying to pry her from his burning little brother.

"Marie let go there's nothing you can do." Klaus urged with a slight demanding voice with a hint of sorrow and understanding. Marie struggled with his strength she quickly took Kol's sunlight ring off right before the fire consumed all of him, and turned to her father's chest overtaken by grief of her uncle. They been through so many adventures and so many emotions and memories that were shared in her human and immortal life. Now he will become just a distant memory, a shadow in the back of her mind locked away to prevent any hurt in the future, and she hated how that would be her fate of her uncle's memory. Full of pain and sorrow rather his lively cooky, spunky way of being remembered when alive. Just like that, a thousand years of living, death takes him within a few minutes… And there was nothing she can do about. There's nothing you can do about it… The statement ran through her head in different voices, killing her more of being vulnerable and unable to do anything to save him. Marie stared at Kol's charred burning corpse, that's all he was now a burning corpse…and she couldn't do anything to stop it. She should have saw it coming, he had the bloody stake in his pocket and she warn him to not have it, they would always in danger if it was near the hunter. She should have kept him away as she did with Finn and Sage, could have prevented all of this.

Klaus stroked her hair trying to calm her cries, he stared at Kol baffled by the last seconds he was breathing… His family should have never been here, they should have left days ago but he was so obsessed to get his hybrids in order. That move for power cost him a brother, and he would never be able to undo it… Klaus snaps glaring at the unconscious hunter, he can be avenged. Elena appears to be the one to end all of this, to prevent more suffering for his family. Finally he would be able to be freed from the blasted girl, she was the start of all the problems. She was his focus for power and that power cost him his family unity. Her death may not bring his brother back but at least can stop any death of his other members with the connected hunter vanquished.

Demetri watch from afar, the pain the released hunter cause echoed through the atmosphere. The death of the Original, his horrid pain from the stake, and the conflicted pain of Marie and Klaus was so great it strike a slight nerve in Demetri. He never really intended on any of this, was flare of the moment of them being there at the wrong time. Although the deaths of the fallen vampires can be awaken once more with the gratitude of the oldest immortal… and surely gratitude from the powerful witches that imprison him and watch his grave – it's a loss and double gain from either side. Just depends what side one special woman decides to take to set the course. And with an offer like that, any one would be tempted to take it, Marie is the only person to complete this task and may find everything she most desires…

Demetri smirks slightly by the thought of Marie having the motive and surely she has the heart to do anything for the people she loved. His body felt some uneasy pressure he shook it off by how disturbed he felt, he couldn't think that way not with so much things to come his way, so close he can actually taste it.

Sorry for the long wait, there should be no excuse how long it took to finish this chapter. A lot had happen these past few months and had to take a bit of a break from writing. Thanks to everyone who waited out this long period of time, and I promise the final chapter or chapters won't take as long as this one has.
