Tough situations

Kazumi...

Kazumi...

Kazumi...

Sounds like Kaoru's ex, Kabuki...

Damn it, why does that sound so familiar? and about his Kaoru? his baby brother? getting engaged to a complete stranger? was she a stranger? Hikaru didn't know her so obviously she was. . It didn't feel right. It didn't set well with him the first few seconds it had sunk into his mind. This couldn't be happening.

He wouldn't never agree to marry a stranger, which is why he was married to Haruhi.. So if he wasn't going to have any part of that nonsense, why should Kaoru? their mother never said anything about this!

If Hikaru were drinking something at that moment, he would have spit it all over the desk.

"Eh?!" Hkaru gasped. His eyes wide as he straightened himself out on his chair, un crossing his legs and slammed his hands down on the desk. Puffing out his chest full of hot air as he looked over at the shocked looking elderly man. As if it surprised him of his out burst. "What the hell?! when did this come up?!"

"You sound surprised." The man sighed. Rolling his eyes at the young mans stupidity, thinking that he should have called the youngest brother after all. "We've ben having this conversation for the last fifteen minutes.. I guess that means you haven't ben listening?"

Hikaru glared at him. Calming himself down and sat in his seat like the professional fashion designer everyone thought of him to be, and sighed. Crossing his arms over his chest. Though continued to glare. "You want my Brother to marry your grand daughter." He said in a matter of fact tone. Parroted his sentence only making it easier for the simple mind to understand. "Shouldn't you be asking him that? not me? or rather, our mother?"

"We're simply tying our companies together with an engagement.. Seeing how yourself is already married, your brother is the only one not legally tied to anyone yet." The man said casually. "I think it would be a great opportunity to-"

"You think it would be a great opportunity to force my brother into a marriage to someone we doesn't even know?" Hikaru huffed, like he wanted to laugh. Knowing how something like this was nothing out of the ordinary in the rich life. "Again, why aren't you going about this with our mother?"

"Well actually, your brother and my grand-daughter Kazumi met in college, they've ben dating ever since then," He smirked. Backing Hikaru into a corner now. "You say your close to your twin, though you don't know who he's dating~?"

Kazumi.

Kaoru's ex-girlfriend!

The one who dumped him for an American? leaving him with just a text message? the one who filled Kaoru's phone with all her pictures, the ones he couldn't bring himself to delete?

It was all coming back to him.

The Kazumi who broke his little brothers heart.

"Kazumi..." Hikaru repeated her name out loud this time, just to get his head around it properly.. He glanced up at the clock o the wall and moved his gaze back the man who was already his business partner. "Oh, you mean the one how cheated on me brother, and left for America?" He said in a smart-mouth tone.

"I'm sorry?"

"Three months ago." He began to explain. Irritated as he was Hikaru managed to keep a straight face. Still trying to seem like the proper business man everyone wanted him to be, but was clearly not. "I was told she left for a American, she hasn't talked to him since then, I'm pretty sure he's totally over her now though." He smirked. Mockingly.. "He has someone else in mind anyway." He added a slight lie.

"I see.. Well before he goes making foolhardy decisions-"

"I can assure you that Kaoru doesn't want anything to do with your grand-daughter." Hikaru insisted. Down to his last nerve with the old geezer. "Now, let me ask one more time, why are you talking to me about this when you could have just assigned my mother to this discussion? and why are you trying to tie our companies together, when we're already tied through a paper signed saying we are?"

The man sighed. Hoping that it would have had to come to him explaining it. It wasn't that he was trying to be sneaky about anything or anything thing like that. It was just sometimes difficult to explain these things to young heirs to companies.

"Well you see Hitachiin," He started. Playing with a piece of his beard. "With you being the eldest heir to the company, and already have a almost half of it for yourself and your brother with the other half.. Your mother has a small majority of the company for herself.. So it would be foolish to tie my sons company with her, when she is almost close to retirement." He explained.

Hikaru shook his head slightly. Non of that mead sense to him in the slightest. Yes, it was true that him and his brother already owned parts of the company in their name, but he was sure his mother was nowhere near even thinking about retiring. That's absurd.

Narrowing his eyes in confusion and utmost disbelief. Hikaru sighed and ran a hand through his hair. This was obviously going to be a headache to explain to his dear twin. . He had just gotten over being depressed too and was all excited about some girl he met on one of his stupidly long walks around the town.

He loved him, and didn't want to se him hurt again.

They were ex's... Would it be so bad?

Damn it Hikaru yes it would.. Think about your brothers feelings, not stupid ties to your company.

"Wait," Hikaru mumbled out of irritation suddenly remembering what the man said. "I thought it was your company you were talking about? not your sons."

"Well its like you said Hitachiin. You've already tied companies with me, but your brother marring my grand-daughter would allow my sons to be as well."

"And why are you speaking to me about this instead of your son?"

"He's currently in Africa at the moment, and simply asked me to take care of this for him."

"I see."

Hikaru glanced over at his suspiciously. Contemplating on jumping out of his chair and stop to the door in fury.. But he surprised himself that he stayed put, acting like he knew everything and understood most of what the man in front of his was saying.

After thinking about it, Hikaru sighed. Trying to think of what Kaoru would want.. Getting engaged to his ex girlfriend, he remembered how much he talked about her, and how upset he was when she left him. . How was she able to be getting engaged to him if she already felt for an American? would Kaoru really, truly be happy if he were to marry her? he may say so, for the sake of the company, but... It would honestly break Hikaru's heart if Kaoru were to lie about his feelings.

After all Kaoru had done to get him together with Haruhi... He couldn't just let this slid over easily. It wasn't fair.. What did he-... Or rather, what did his brother do to deserve such a sticky situation? how was he going to fix it? what was he going to do to make everyone happy?

Cut the crap Hikaru, you know you don't give a damn whether your partners are happy, your only real concern is about your brother right now. Stop trying to be the perfect company owner you know you aren't.

Sad thought.

"Alright, your talking to me about giving my younger brothers hand to your grand-daughter so your son can have ties to my company, correct?" Hikaru mumbled, just loud enough for the old man to hear. Making it sound less complex then the way the old man said it.

"As simple as that." He agreed. Nodding his head in agreement and with a smirk creeping back to his lips.

"Your only asking me because I'm the eldest, and therefore entitled to do what ever I want, like forcing my brother to do what ever I want?"

He looked over at Hikaru suspiciously. "More or less but-..."

"I'll think about it."

The man looked over at his, giving his beard a slight tug. Nodding his head as if he agreed to the terms of his thinking it over. Despite the young mans actions of being impulsive earlier, he was being quite professional about all of it now.. "...Excellent."

Hikaru nodded, less then in agreement and more to prove that he was done talking him.. Then pushed his chair back, and stood up sight. Glaring one last time at him before picking up his bag, and straightening out his rather annoyingly tight suit.. "I'll be going now." He informed. Irritation clear in his throat.

"Of course." The elder spoke up cheerily. Standing up from his chair and stood up with Hikaru, only to shake his hand professionally and sat back down. "Tomorrow we'll discuss this then?" He smiled.

"No," Hikaru argued firmly. "Tuesday... I have some matters to attend to until then."

"Understood, ill see you then Hitachiin."

"Like wise."

Hikaru mentally rolled his eyes in frustration he tried so hard so far to hide.. It was taking everything in him not to slam his fist through the wall and swear violently till his mouth were to pop off his face.. He let go of the mans hand and turned around to walk to the door.

Though before he could get that far the old man spoke up again, making him turn back around. His orange bangs to his hair fell over his forehead and he made a swift motion to them.

"I'd like to meet your wife sometime too, I've never heard of the Fujioka Family before," He said smirking slightly. Placing both his elbows on his desk, curling his hands under his chin. "I've also heard she's was raped, and is pregnant with the mans child." He said quietly. "I don't know whether to congratulate you or apologize."

Hikaru ignored him and walked away.. Not even bothering to correct the man that she was pregnant with his triples and not with some stupid co-worker's unwanted, love child out of force.

Stupid business partners.

The elderly man blinked. Confused as to what he said to make the young fashion designer to stomp off.

Too many questions filled his mind, as he walked down the long everlasting hallway of the large building that was almost as big as his company's building back home, but still was no where near comparison..

As his female assistant jabbered on an on. Hikaru sighed irritably and ignored everything she said. He didn't once hear his name or his brothers name come out her mouth so he decided not listen to her, cause other then that, it probably wasn't important, and didn't deserve not one ounce of his attention.

Where did that old geezer get the idea that Haruhi was pregnant with that bastards kid?

Hikaru guessed that the word got around so much that people lost sight of what was really true, and what was not.

He blamed the damn stupid news crew from the day that it happened.

"And sir? you have your meeting at four o-clock tomorrow, and the fashion show your suppose to attend is later that day..." The assistant began to mumble off with preparations of when and how he would get about and stuff.. All her words just made his sigh again and nod at what ever it was that she said.

Stalking off into the closest elevator, Hikaru rolled his eyes as it took a good long minute to get to the point where the door opened and he was able to walk in, his assistant not far behind.. He huffed out his chest annoyed and stepped inside as the bright green laminated numbers popped up.

He stuck his hands in his pockets and glanced over at his assistant who was also looking at him suspiciously.. He blinked, then she blinked, he sighed, and she blinked again.

"..."

"..."

She looked over at him as he looked at her then at the numbers of the elevator.. Then she realized what he was waiting for her to do.

"...Oh, right... Yes sir." She piped up. Stepping over to the door and punched in the floor number of the first floor so they could hurry up and get to the hotel and end the day with aspirin and a few phone-calls to loved ones then finally hit the sack. Cause it was already a big old headache.

Hikaru nodded, then the elevator wobbled and moved downwards.. Taking an insanely long time to hit the bottom. . Then sighed in relief as the doors to it opened and stepped out. Having his assistant trot after him as he stopped off to the main doors of the building and made his way to the limo.

"Sir, what time would you like me contact your mother Mrs. Hitachiin about todays meeting?" She asked curiously. Looking at the notebook she had ben carrying with her since this morning, writing down everything just incase, Hikaru were to forget, and she was sure he would. "Once we get to the hotel or later tomorrow?"

"It doesn't matter, do it when ever you feel like it," Hikaru grumbled irritably as he ducked his head and sat down in the plush leather seat of the limo. "I seriously don't have any patience for her right now."

She nodded and wrote even that down in her notebook.. Making Hikaru roll his eyes.

"And your brother?" She added cheerily.

"I'll call him on my own."

"Yes sir."

Hikaru let out a long stream of breath from his nose as he laid his head down on his fist, having his elbow rest on the handle of the door to the limo.. His assistant kept going on about what sounded like important stuff but didn't feel vary important as the large car made its way to the hotel.. It has only ben three days though he already missed coming home to a cute little round Haruhi every end of a stressful day..

He didn't like it so much that he didn't have one when he came back the hotel every time.. No wife standing by the stove, cooking large amounts of food just for the hell of it. No wife sitting on the couch reading a book, giving him a small peck on the lips after work.. Now damn Haruhi laying in bed next to him, with her arm draped over his chest sleepily. Or a round belly getting in the way as he tried to hug her.

He felt so gosh darn alone.

"Sir, what about the clothes you plan to wear for the fashion show?"

Except for his trusty assistant.

"I can choose my own clothes."

She nodded. "Yes sir."

Hikaru sighed for the millionth time that day, as he stepped inside his hotel room. His assistant biding him goodnight as she bowed professionally and planned on ending the day to a call to her boyfriend and a tall glass of wine..

He dropped his bag lazily at the side of the front door and slammed that door carelessly. Not giving a hoot that he could irritate his rich neighbors with the noise. He stretched out his back, until the point it gave a satisfying crack, then slumped down into the soft plush red chair that was off to the side next to the table fit for two.

He sighed in hint that he was beginning to relax and went to retrieve his phone that was in his deep pocket of his suit.. Noticing it wasn't there he rolled his eyes and unbuttoned his shirt and threw that over the head of the chair. Thinking about dong the same with his pants and agreed to his inner voice that he would be much more relaxed if he were to change ever single part of his suit and replace it with something more comfortable.

Wow, that sounds like something Haruhi would say.

Wah, Haruhi.

What in the hell made him want to wear a suit in the first place? he never wore suits to work, and only wore a suit to his wedding because it looked nice and didn't feel right not to.

Leaving the room to one of his many suitcases he had brought that he had placed in the other room where the bed was he came back fifteen minutes later, dressed in a pair of regular jeans and a plain white v-neck t-shirt..

Then reached over to the other side of the short table and grasped his phone. Only liking it now because It gave him his Haruhi's voice.

And her not the one to talk a lot on the phone, he probably was only going to hear it for a few moments before she would inform him that she needed to get something cleaned that didn't really need cleaning at all..

Whatever floats her boat.

A strange unexpected smirk instantly popped on his face as he flipped threw his contacts and found his Haruhi's name, laminated purple on his screen.. He sighed, finally in contentment as he pressed call.

And it only had to ring three times before a happy click~! sound came from it and vary familiar, much loved voice came rom the line on the other side. Making a full grin crack across his lips.

"Hello?"

"Hey sweetheart~!"

On the other side, Haruhi suddenly smirked and pressed the phone fully put the phone to her ear. "Hi Hikaru."

"Watcha doin~?" He asked happily. Crossing his leg over the other as he leaned laid back into his crossed arm behind his head. "You answered pretty quickly this time, you miss me~?"

"...Hmm. I don't know, its kind of peaceful here."

"Yeah, you so miss me~"

On the other side. Haruhi snorted and laid her chin down on her arm that rested on the table. Howing him that she was done with that subject. "Maybe a little, what are you doing?"

"...Answer my question first~"

"I'm not doing anything."

"Well your breathing."

"Dose that even count?"

"It counts to me~"

He heard a large sigh come from her and he laughed wickedly. Wanting to ruffle up her hair like he always did when he annoyed her, but obviously he can't do that, now can he?

No?

Yeah, he didn't think so.

"I'm just waiting for the water to boil in the kitchen so I can finally start making dinner." She explained finally.. "He's not home yet, but should be any minute now."

"Awe little round Haru makin daddy food~" He cooed Teasingly. Snickering as he knew that she was rolling her eyes. Frowning at the fact that it was humanly impossible that you can pull people out of phones, but so wish he could anyway. Cause lets face it, that would be cool.

"Round?" Haruhi huffed, sounding offended. Looking down at her belly. "I'm not that fat, I keep telling you." She pouted.

"Send me a picture then, prove me wrong~" He snickered. Remembering how big she was when he left.

"I'm not going to do that." She drawled.

"Then your round~"

"God your a pest."

Hikaru snickered. Switching the phone to his other hand as he fidgeted in his seat and then held the phone with his shoulder as he opened a bottle of water with both his hands.. Then a thought came to him as he then frowned and talked serious. "Have you talked, or seen Kaoru today?" He asked.

"Mm...Yeah. He came over all chipper and fidgety to say hi." She informed him. On the other side of the line she stretched out her legs as she stood up from the low futon. "He said he was just checking on me for you, but I think he was just bored.. Cause he stayed for en hour."

"Hmm."

Hikaru took a deep breath. Thinking of his twin as he thought of him actually getting married to his ex-girlfriend.. It still didn't feel right, and despite of what he told the elderly man, saying how he was going to think about it.. He obviously meant that his twin was going to think about it.. Cause there was no way in hell he was going to force his little brother into something he didn't want to do just because he was the oldest.

That wasn't fair.

Sometimes he really hated being the oldest.

"So, how did your day go anyway?" She suddenly asked. "You sound... Lazy?"

"Oh Haruhi," He whined. Forgetting everything about his brother as a image of the annoying old man from earlier popped into his head. "I can go on for hours about how my day went, its was awful to say the least, I had to go through a whole two hours of complete boredom.. Then! another one in a half of more boredom as i had a meeting."

"Oh you poor thing."

"And the guy I had a meeting with practically asked me to fork over my Kaoru to-..." Hikaru paused. Thinking things over. "Uh, well lets just say Kaoru had to go through boredom with me."

"How?"

"Lets just say it has something to do with the Twin bond, and just leave it at that."

"Fine with me." She snorted. Showing no interest in knowing what he really meant and glanced over towards the stove on the other side of the small apartment and dropped her shoulders, and let out a small. "...Ah crap."

Hikaru blinked and restrained himself of laughing as he listened to his pregnant wife give off an innocent swear word out of the blue. "What? what's the matter?"

"Water boiled over."

Hikaru busted out laughing.

"I have to go Hik, I'll talk to you later, right now I have to-... Oh god damn it."

Bleep~

Hikaru snickered at his wife's last few words and just decided to think that, what was wrong was just about the food she was trying to cook, and left it at that.

He sighed then, feeling a bit depressed again as he then flipped through his contacts once again. Which wasn't a vary long journey from the H's to the K's. He blinked at the happy looking word of his twins name that was on top of Kyouya's and beneath his grand-mothers. Then clinked it.

Ready for a vary awkward conversation between them.

It only rang once.

"Hikaru~!"

Damn, he sounds happy about something.

Quit treating your brother like a five year-old Hikaru, he's twenty-three, and can handle some weird news.

"Hey buddy~!" Hikaru chippered up hearing his brothers voice. Uncrossing his legs as he stood up and decided to walk around the room a bit. Thinking that would calm his nerves. "What are you doing, and why do you sound drugged up?"

On the other side of the phone he heard Kaoru gasped dramatically. "Why can't I sound happy without being accused of being on some sort of drug?" He asked. Though he didn't sound at all offended. "And its nice to talk to you too."

Hikaru snickered. Wanting to get this over and have a nice conversation with his twin. "Hey Kaoru...?"

Kaoru blinked at his sudden desire to change the subject. Then decided that, that subject was done anyway and perked up again. "Yeeessss~?"

"How do you feel about a trip to Greece?"

"...Why?" Then he gasped. "Oh... Is little Hikaru lonely all by his little self that he wants the company of his brother? I feel flattered Hika... But seriously... Why?"

Hikaru took a deep breath and slumped himself down on his large, queen size bed. Rubbing his now throbbing temple with his curled middle finger. "You remember your ex girlfriend?"

Kaoru scowled at his brothers sudden change of mood and the mention of his ex's. Wondering why it, for no reason, came to them. "It depends." Kaoru sighed. Loosing his happiness and replaced it with what sounded like, I-don't-care-can-we-just-talk-about-cupcakes-or-something?.. "Which ex Girlfriend? the creepy one, or..," an image of Kazumi popped into his head. "Or the jerky one?"

"I don't know which one's your titling as creepy or jerky, but I'm talking about Kabuki." Hikaru sighed and mistook her name on purpose.

Kaoru's eyebrows narrowed as he threw himself into a chair. "I think you mean Kazumi."

"Yeah."

Kaoru rolled his eyes. "What about her?"

"..."

"...Hikaru?"

"..."

"Dude, don't just start ignoring me now~!"

"Kaoru..." Hikaru paused. Feeling a bunch of responsibility jump up and down on his shoulders. For some reason he felt his heart beat at an annoyingly fast pace. He hated being put under pressure like this.. The unfairness to the person who wouldn't get there way this time was incredibly high.

"Kao, Could I ask you a hypothetical question?"

"What~?"

"If your little brother had to either be forced into a marriage with his ex to tie two companies together, Or pick between marring who ever he wants and lose the chance to tie the companies... Would you let him choose himself? or choice yourself knowing damn well he'll do the one that sounds most selfless? you know, hypothetically speaking."

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Kao?"

"I feel like this is about me."

"...Kind of is, but kind of not... Are you looking at it as the hypothetically spoken question or...?"

"I think I just lost my appetite."

"..."

Kaoru sighed. Taking in a big breather as he ran his hand through his Hoping that what his brother just told his really was a hypothetical question and not something he had to worry about, but the way Hikaru was talking, and how his voice was so low and depressed sounding. Kaoru had a hunch that it was totally something he should look over more time. "I think I already figured out what your telling me Hika, but could you dumb that down just a little?"

"Like I said.. Basically you have the option to either marry your ex girlfriend Kazumi, who dumped you for an America might I add, to tie companies to Mr. Hiabaku's sons company... Or you can flat out refuse any of this nonsense and go ahead and go on one of your stupid walks in the park~ go watch birds or something."

"..."

"Kaoru, please say something, I feel like I'm about to puke."

"..."

"Kaoru?"

Beep~
