"Come on then Mr Jordan take me home, I'm shattered" Zoe yawned as they drove, the sky was a beautifully deep shade of blue. It was a clear night and from Zoe was sat she could vaguely make out the stars that filled the sky.
"Not just yet, I have someone special to take you first" Nick smirked, keeping his eyes set on the road ahead.
Zoe raised her eyebrows thoughtfully, imaging all the possible places that they could go.
"Where?" She asked eventually studying Nick's face carefully for any clues- he kept a straight face.
"It's a surprise Doctor Hanna" he replied mirroring her expression perfectly as he raised his eyebrows also.
"You know how much I hate not knowing what's going on. Just a little clue?" She pleaded before realising she would never get her way with words. Words had never been their strong point.
She placed one hand on his thigh in a circular motion, dangerously close to his groin, his weak spot. She smiled smugly to herself as he closed his eyes momentarily and drew in a sharp breath.
"Are you sure you can't tell me?" she whispered, her other hand suggestively toying with his tie.
"Nice try, but you'll have to be patient" Nick told her reluctantly. As irresistible as she was, he wasn't giving in easily. "Oh and I don't think those heels will be such a good idea" he added as an afterthought, chuckling to himself at her sunken expression.
"You're no fun these days Mr Jordan."
"Zoe I'm serious I really wouldn't wear those heels if I were you" Nick warned as they climbed out of the car to face a hill. The tallest hill in Holby, to be precise.
"Well you're not me and you should know by now these babies stay on my feet at all times" Zoe corrected, squealing as her foot sank into the mud. She huffed as Nick stood propped against the car, laughing away in his element.
"Well you'll have to carry me now, I don't know why you're laughing" she sighed as he made his way to her side of the car. Before Zoe could say anything he had her in his arms; bridal style of course. It seemed appropriate, considering she was nearly his bride.
"Why are we here anyway? All I see is a hill and a lot of mud" she moaned as Nick carried her towards the slope.
"Patience Mrs Jordan, patience" he winked at her, tapping her nose as he spoke.
"It's freezing up here" Zoe pointed out the obvious as they reached the peak of the hill. Nick let her down and shrugged his jacket off, sliding it around her shoulders.
"Now stop moaning and lay down" he ordered, taking her head and guiding a little further.
They lay down beside one another, Nicks eyes fixed on the sky above them, decorated in crystals.
Zoe, on the other hand was confused, cold and irritated.
"Now what?" She asked asked pulling Nicks jacket on her further and enjoyed the comfort his scent supplied her with.
"Look up"
Zoe rolled her eyes before letting them cast upwards. She was met with a mesmerising scene, the stars were a lot clearer than before, they shone against the seductively dark sky. A small gasp escaped her lips, prompting a smile from Nick.
"It's beautiful" she whispered, noticing the constellations she vaguely remembered seeing from when she was younger.
"It is" Nick agreed "but not as beautiful as you" he finished, beckoning her closer to him. She lay her head on his chest, crossing one arm over his torso.
"I'm sorry for being such a cow lately" she sighed, tracing a pattern lightly on his chest, next to where her head was resting.
Nick stroked her hair, fully aware of how calming it was for her.
"You're my cow, in fact I think I love you that little bit more when you're a complete cow" he admitted cheekily.
"Hm I'll remember that one the next time we argue" she smiled back, lifting her head slightly to gaze into his warm eyes. They held eye contact for a few moments, a few moments that in actually fact felt like a thousand.
"Well know it's true" Nick whispered into her hair before kissing her head numerous times.
"I could hold you forever" he mused, adoring the feeling that laying there gave him, but no where near as much as he adored the woman who was laid in his arms.
"Well I was hoping for a bit more action than that baby" Zoe chuckled. Her laughter seemed to flutter around in the empty landscape, fighting against the soft buzz of traffic and night life.
"Ah well in that case, would be it completely crazy to make love on top of the tallest hill in Holby?" Nick smiled, his nose nuzzling against her head.
"Completely" Zoe commented, smirking suggestively. She pulled herself up so she was on top of him, her hands teasingly making their way down his shirt.
"But then again, we are known for being completely crazy" she whispered, placing a lingering kiss on his lips, capturing them perfectly.
