Another month has gone by and summer was half way over. Zoe was so excited though because Wade would be arriving in a couple of hours.

"Mom let's go, there's going to be traffic. What are you doing?" Zoe yelled banging on her mother's door.

"Zoe, he lands in 4 hours. It will take no longer than an hour to get there, in heavy traffic. Go relax yourself."

"I can't, I'm so excited. I've missed him so much."

"What about Joel?"

"What about him?" she asked "I'll still see him. But Wade is only here for 2 weeks, I haven't seen him in 2 months and then I won't see him again for a month."

"Ok Honey." She laughed at her daughter. "Let's go get some lunch before we leave."

"Fine." Zoe huffed

Four hours later Zoe was bouncing around the airport trying to look through the crowd for Wade. She finally spotted him and squealed, taking off through the crowd.

Wade saw the tiny brunette running his way and braced himself for the impact. He scooped her up and hugged her. She smiled at him once he put her down.

"Hi" she beamed

"Hey Z." he hugged her again.

"I have missed you so much. You were right, it's way too long"

"I'm always right." He finally let go of her and they walked towards her mom.

"Hi Wade." She smiled

"Hi Mrs. Hart. Thanks for letting me come visit."

"Anytime." She smiled back. "Shall we go?"

"Yes" Zoe answered still beaming

"Zoe I haven't seen you this happy since, well I don't know when." Candice said on the way home.

Zoe shrugged. "Wade's here."

"You have plans for the next 2 weeks?"

"I have his entire visit planned out."

"Of course you do." Wade chuckled "I better not be going to some boring museum or library."

"No, would I bring you there?"

"Um, yes." He stuck his tongue out at her

"No, we have I think 3 Yankee games to go to, visit Times Square, a concert at Madison Square Garden, I got tickets to see Footloose on Broadway plus other random tourist attractions."

"No wonder your credit card bill was so high last month."

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"Sounds like a jam packed two weeks. I'm excited."

"Me too."

Once they were in and settled at the apartment, Candice left for a party at one of her clients.

"So, now what?" Wade asked sitting next to Zoe on the couch.

"What do you want to do? We can do anything."

"I'm hungry."

"Of course you are. Hey, did you get your car?"

"I did." He beamed. "She's perfect."

"Ahh, I'm so happy for you." She hugged him "I can't wait to come home so we can go wherever we want, whenever we want."

"It's awesome and the ladies love it."

"Oh ew, I don't need to know that."

"Shut up." He laughed. "Food?"

"Yes, you want pizza?"

"Sounds great."

"Alright let's go."

Once outside Zoe hailed a cab and told the driver where to go. Wade just looked out the window in amazement.

"It's something huh?"

"Yeah."

"It's not Bluebell though."

"No, it is definitely not. You still miss it?" he asked with a smirk

"Yes, every day. I miss all you guys and Daddy. The simple quietness of the town and swimming in the pond. It does get hot here and there is nowhere to go to cool down really."

"Bummer." He said and the cab came to a stop.

They went inside, grabbed a table and ordered their pizza.

"So, how's Mama and Dad?"

"Good. They're down at the beach now."

"Lucky, I miss the beach. Next summer we have to spend ample amounts of time down there."

"You got it. Jesse says hey and he's waiting for a letter."

"Oh crap, it's sitting on my desk. I'll send it when we get home."

Wade chuckled "Ok, we have plans for tonight?"

"I was thinking just a movie or something at home. Figured you were tired."

"I am kind of. That works for me. When do I get to meet Joel?" he asked with a smirk

"Um, I don't know. Never?"

"Oh you are not getting away with that. I'm here for two week and have strict instructions to meet and interrogate this fella you're dating."

"Fella? Who says that?" she asked

"Well, my parents and mainly your father. He gave me a list of questions to ask him."

"Oh my gosh, you are so not meeting him now."

"Yes I will. You won't go two weeks without seeing this guy."

"Yes I can."

"Sure."

"So, have you gone out with our entire class yet?"

"Yeah, I'm already down to the freshman."

"Eww Wade, what is wrong with you?" she asked disgusted

"I'm kidding, no I haven't dated the entire class, Cricket, AB and Lemon are already taken." He winked

"Please tell me you're still kidding."

"For the most part."

"You're gross."

"I'm not sleeping with them."

"Well that's good. That makes it's oh so much better." She replied sarcastically.

"Whatever, I see no issue."

"Don't start working your way through the girls up here now." She teased

"No I won't, don't worry."

"Good. What do you want to do now?"

"I have no idea." He laughed

"You want to walk home? It's just a straight walk, we shouldn't get lost."

"Sure, that could be fun."

They left the restaurant and started their walk home. Wade was in such awe of the sights around him he didn't see a guy on a bike coming straight towards him. Zoe quickly grabbed his hand and pulled him towards her.

"You need to pay attention." She giggled

"Sorry, just so much to look at."

"I know, I don't know how many times I fell or bumped into someone or something my first month."

Wade just nodded as the continued their walk hand in hand. They chatted a bit, both catching up some more on what the other has missed. Wade did most of the talking because there is always something going on in Bluebell. Once they made it back to her building and to her door, that's when they realized they were holding hands.

Zoe removed her hand and gave him a shy smile. "Didn't even realize."

"Me either."

"What movie do you want to watch?"

"What do you have?"

"I think you mean, what don't we have?" She walked into a room and Wade's jaw dropped looking at the giant screen on the wall and on the opposite wall, the entire thing covered by movies.

"Holy crap." He said

"Yeah, mom likes her movies."

"I'll say." He started looking through all the shelves and finally picked one.

"Armageddon? I haven't seen that one yet."

"I heard it was good."

Zoe went and made popcorn and got them some drinks while Wade set up the movie. They got settled on the couch and pushed play. They watched that movie, then Zoe picked out another one and then Wade picked the third. Half way through that one they were passed out on the couch.

Zoe woke up the next morning feeling something very unfamiliar under her. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Wade passed out. Her head was on his chest and his arms were protectively wrapped around her. She started to panic and tried to gently roll off of him.

"What?" Wade asked when she was half way off but directly on top of him.

"Sorry, um we uh, fell asleep and I was trying to leave." She said not moving an inch

"Well could you continue cause your knee is squishing uh me." He groaned glancing down towards his crotch

She looked down and quickly jumped off of him. "I'm so sorry. Are you ok?" she asked trying not to laugh.

"It's not funny." He growled "But yes, I'm fine." He swatted at her and on accident got her right in the butt.

"Did you just smack my butt?" she asked

"Total accident, but now we're even I guess."

"Guess so." She bit her lip looking at him. "Breakfast." She suddenly said

"I could eat."

Zoe started rummaging through the cabinets to find stuff to make pancakes. Wade wandered into the kitchen as her cell phone started ringing.

"Who is it?" Zoe asked

Wade peaked at the phone and instead of answering her he answered the phone. "Hey Joel." He said

Zoe's eyes bugged "Give it to me." She said running to him

"Um hi. Who's this?" Joel asked

"Wade." He laughed while holding Zoe back with one hand on her shoulder.

"Oh, hi. Is Zoe there?"

"She is. But she said you weren't going to come by the next couple weeks. I was really hoping to meet you."

"Oh she did? Well I'm not sure. I figured I'd meet you too."

"Well I think you should come on over."

"Uh sure."

Wade smirked. "Alright well here's Zoe." He handed her the phone laughing

"I hate you." She told him

"No you don't." he continued to laugh walking past her

"Hi. I'm so sorry about him." She said walking into another room.

"It's fine, do you not want me to meet him."

"No, I do. I'm just going to warn you, he will interrogate you."

"Oh it won't be that bad."

"I warned you."

"What time should I be there?"

"You can come around 2 I guess."

"I'll see you then."

"Bye." She sighed and hung up. "You're a jerk." She yelled when she got back in the kitchen but she couldn't stop from smiling a bit.

"Then why you smiling?"

"I don't know, but you are."

"What are best friends for?" he winked

Zoe came out of her room after getting showered and dressed and stopped when she saw Wade on the couch in just his jeans. Her mouth hung open and her eyes were wide.

Wade turned to look at her. "What are you gapin at?" he asked

"Nothing." She said "Could you cover up?" she asked

He laughed and slipped on his white t-shirt. "It's hot, what are you wearing?" he asked

"A dress."

"Why? Since when do you just hang out in dresses?" she shrugged her shoulders. "Oh is this to impress Joel?" he snickered

"No." she said very unconvincingly

"Well you look weird. This New York fashion, to showy, I don't like it."

Zoe didn't say anything. She knew he would hate this outfit but she also knew Joel would love it.

Joel was knocking on the door five minutes later. Zoe jumped up from the couch and ran to the door.

"Hi Joel."

"Hey Zoe, you look amazing." He kissed her

Wade rolled his eyes "Ugh" he said involuntarily.

Zoe pulled away from Joel and looked at him suspiciously. "Uh Joel, this is Wade. Wade, Joel."

"Hey Pal, how's it goin." Wade stuck his hand out

Joel shook it. "You're Wade?" he asked in disbelief "Uh nice to meet you." He looked him up and down "I've heard a lot about you."

"Yeah likewise." Wade chuckled looking at the guy in front of him. He was definitely not something you'd see in Bluebell.

Zoe looked between Joel and Wade and suddenly felt awkward. "Ok well, what do we want to do?"

"Well I don't know about you but I would love to get to know Joel." Wade smirked

"I know Joel." Zoe said

"That's nice, let's figure out how well you know him." He winked

"Don't be gross." She scowled at him

"Well I will be right back." Wade smirked and walked towards the room he was staying in.

Once he was out of ear shot Joel looked at Zoe. "That's Wade? Did you see the biceps on that guy? Is that what they all look like down there? What does he do for fun? Chop down trees?"

Zoe giggled. "What is your problem?"

"That guy is not 17. There is no way."

"Well he is and he's not that built."

"Are you kidding me? He could snap me, Bryan and Nate in half, at the same time probably."

"Are you afraid of him?" she smiled

"I wouldn't say afraid. I don't think he'll hurt me but uh, I wouldn't want to tempt him."

Zoe pouted. "He won't hurt you." She kissed him

"Get a room." Wade grunted walking towards them. Joel jumped and moved towards the couch. Wade walked past her. "I hope we looked better than that." he whispered

Zoe's jaw dropped and her eyes widened. "That never happened." She whispered and walked into the living room

"You ok Zoe?" Joel asked noticing her face was a bit red.

"Yeah I'm fine." She mumbled "It's just hot in here."

"So Joel, sit down. Let's chat." Wade winked at Zoe

She smirked back at him and then looked over at Joel. "Oh boy, good luck."

"Um can I pee first?" he asked nervously

"Sure." Wade chuckled

Joel quickly left the room.

Zoe wanted to yell at him for his comment but she couldn't bring herself to bring it up. She had to say something though. "You are so mean. Why are you scaring him?"

Wade laughed. "Well I'm really not trying to. I'm just that intimidating I guess. You really like this guy?"

"He's sweet."

He rolled his eyes. "You keeping him around once you come home?"

"I don't know. He's going to college and like you said I'm coming home." She shrugged

"So no then."

"I don't know." she said as Joel came back.

"Ok, I'm ready." Joel said sitting down.

Wade took out the paper that Harley gave him. "Boring, boring, boring, irrelevant, boring, stupid, who cares. Ok, you planning on sleeping with Zoe?" he asked

"He did not write that." Zoe screamed

"Uh, what? No, no, of course not." Joel stumbled over his words.

"Give me that." Zoe snatched the paper from Wade. "That's not on here." She smacked him on his arm.

"No, but you know your Dad was wondering."

"Let's go get food." Zoe stood up

"Uh ok." Joel stood up

Wade was still laughing "I could eat."

"You'll always eat." She laughed "Now can you leave Joel alone."

"Yeah, you pass." Wade slapped him on the shoulder

"Oh goodie." Joel said still in shock over that last question.

Wade laughed looking Joel up and down and shook his head. "Oh boy." He thought to himself

Zoe looked from Wade to Joel and bit down on her bottom lip. She shook her head grabbed her purse. "Well what are we waiting for, let's go."
