Three Months Later

Jack and I walked hand in hand along the cobbled street. What a romantic date! Something's not right. I turned. Something was lurking in the shadows, an invisible force. Nothing seems real anymore, Jack had vanished from my side. I screamed so loud, yet it was so silent. What the hell? No, please, no! Oh please just save me someone, anyone. JACK!

My eyes flew open for what seemed the millionth time this month. What is my problem? Why can't I sleep right? I looked to the alarm clock, red lights flashing 03:00am. Bloody hell, I thought, what's with this time? I got up and went to the kitchen, made coffee for myself. I heard the covers rustling in the bedroom and pulled another cup down from the cupboard. This was the usual for my apartment. While most people slept, I was wide awake; the unnerving dreams made sure I stayed awake until I went to university in the city; well according to everyone else in this block of apartments. Jack was now sitting at the table, my amazing and true confidant. If I had a problem he would be there to listen.

"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" I teased. This was his final night/morning with me until he came back in three months' time. Work in Cardiff, he put it. I knew that Torchwood wanted him back pretty urgently.

"What's this? Do you want to get rid of me?" He flashed a dazzling smile that made my hearts melt and always made me blush the colour of blood red roses. I handed him his coffee, but he grabbed me and pulled me into his lap.

"You are so beautiful in this light!" he exclaimed.

"Stop it!" I giggled. Geez, he never stops flirting, this one.

"Make me." He chuckled.

"Never in a thousand years." I replied, going in for the ever passionate kiss. Jack meant so much to me but something in the back of my mind nagged to say be careful what you wish for.

"Shall we go back to the bedroom?" Jack asked innocently.

"Why Captain Harkness, we should venture back to the bedroom" I skipped into the next room and awaited Jack to follow.

"Come, sweet sir, and taste my forbidden fruit." I giggled and took in the pleasure of my one and only Captain Jack Harkness.

Morning came and Jack was gone. Think it is best to get back to my history major. Turning the TV on, the morning news displayed breaking news in America. The body of a young woman had been fished out of the bay in Washington D.C. The girl went missing three months ago leaving people baffled to her disappearance. I smiled while flipping through the book on the kitchen table, realising that it's been five months since I saw my Doctor; my father. Sighing, a photo of a man makes me sit up quite quick. I flip back to the beginning of the book and find the same man in a different era of British history. Then he pops up again the same face and same statue. This isn't right, I think to myself. I look at the name and jump onto the computer and search for him on Google.

"Oh dear." I said. Looking over my shoulder, I grab a piece of paper and begin the extensive task of writing in Gallifreyan. Hopefully, a Doctor might pick me up very soon and we shall have tea and discuss this serious matter. Maybe…
