Chapter 29

"Oh my gosh!" Rachel could not believe the sight in front of her.

"Surprise!" Finn exclaimed. Standing in front of them was a very familiar looking brick house.

It was just as huge as Rachel remembered. Even in the dark, it looked as magical as Rachel swore it once was before. She still stood on her estimate. This house had to be at least three stories tall. Just when she thought she was head over heels, he stepped in and proved to her that she could fall deeper.

The house, or castle as she once called it, from that little bus ride one day was towering over them. The same castle that caused Rachel to do a double take the first time it came into her view all of those years ago. She couldn't believe that after all of this time, Finn remembered.

She was absolutely speechless. It hadn't changed a bit, which in hand made her even more amazed. She hadn't thought of this place in ages. She just always assumed that it would've been knocked down sooner or later to make way for a more modern house.

Amazement failed to leave her as the young voices from the first time she saw this house filled her mind.

"Ouch! What do you want, Rachel?" Finn asked out of annoyance. She had just smacked him on the shoulder multiple times at a very quick pace.

"Look at that house!"

"Wow…" Even though the house was slowly getting away from their view, Finn's amazed expression was still very present in her memory.

"Someday when I get older, I'm gonna live there. My boyfriend is gonna live there with me and we're gonna be like a prince and princess." She missed the huge imagination and optimism that used to run through her mind.

"No, Taylor and I are gonna live there after we get married." This made her laugh out loud. Finn flashed a curious look at her sudden outburst.

"What? No way! I saw it first and she doesn't even like you."

The rest of that conversation didn't matter to her right now. It eventually led to one of their many childhood fights. But, that was the first big time that Rachel actually considered her future; even if it was a huge figure of her childhood imagination. Seeing the big house currently in front of them was the first time she actually dreamed of her future. As she got older, she eventually learned to make new, better, and bigger dreams. But standing here right now in its presence once more, she felt just like that little girl watching it pass from the bus's window. Finn had no idea how much this meant to her.

After standing in front of the limo and staring up at the castle for what seemed like forever, Finn grabbed Rachel's hand and led her down the concrete walkway leading to the front porch. Pulling up her dress a little so she wouldn't trip, she let him lead her up the stairs and to the front door.

"Now, the inside is a little on the rough edge right now, but just give it a chance." He warned before opening up the door. "I think you're really going to like it."

"Finn, open the door." She chuckled as he looked a little hesitant.

Turning the silver key to the right, Finn turned the knob and slowly pushed the door open. As he led her into the complete darkness, the lights came on and Rachel met her second love.

The first thing that came into her view was a small space where the foot of a huge staircase occupied. She could already picture a painting hanging on the open wall and a coat rack in the corner of the room filled with different sized and colored coats. Holding out his hand for her, Rachel grabbed Finn's hand as he led her past the stairs and into more darkness. Leaving the small space, they continued straight where Rachel could kind of make out a larger room. Switching on the next set of lights, Rachel underestimated its size. The room standing before them was huge.

"Wow," was all she could make out at this time.

"I was thinking that this could be where the living room would be." Finn imagined. "We could put a big TV over that fireplace right there and all of our furniture could go around it."

"Plus, checkout the most amazing part!" he said, pointing up. Following his finger and gaze, Rachel found a small balcony built into one of the walls. From where she stood, she could see one of the doors to the upstairs rooms. She assumed it was so the people upstairs could overlook the huge room that Finn imagined to be their living room. It was just like the ones in the Broadway theaters. Yet again, she was left speechless.

"Do you see how that side of the wall is molded to look like a triangle?" he asked, pointing to the wall on the side of where the balcony was.

"Yeah," she replied.

"That's where the staircase is. Right below it is a tiny bathroom which I thought was very neat." He informed her. "Also, there's another bathroom in that door over there." He added, pointing to a single door in the corner of the room, on the side of where the fireplace was. "This one is a little bigger than the one under the stairs. I thought we could put shower and a garden tub into it and It could be for our guests when they stay over."

Grabbing her hand again, he led her back towards the direction of the front staircase again. Catching her off-guard, he took a right. Switching on the lights, her amazement was clearly present. This room was slightly a little smaller than the one they just left. The moment she laid eyes on this room, she knew exactly what it would be. She hoped Finn saw the same vision that she did.

"Our kitchen," he smiled. "I know major improvements need to be made in here as well as the other room, but I thought it would be the perfect fit. You'll see; follow me." He said, making his way to the exit on the other side of the room. She assumed the other door behind them lead into their living room. Making her curious, she grabbed the ends of her dress once more and followed him. She smiled as she caught the sight of another staircase in the kitchen. It was the perfect late night snacking stairway for her and her husband. Of course, Finn loved this house.

Walking into the now lit room, Rachel's eyes doubled in size. Above the semi- smaller room hung a large and antique looking crystal chandelier.

"I was thinking that this could be the dining room. Also, according to the real estate agent, this room receives the most sunlight in the day. I thought that we could paint it yellow or light red so it could be like a sunset in here." He grinned. She loved the idea.

Looking around, she noticed that the other exit led them back to the entrance space where the first staircase was. Leading her to it, he stopped them before going up the stairs.

"So, what do you think so far?" he asked, enthusiasm was jetting at full speed through his veins.

"I'm speechless." She laughed shyly.

Picking her up bridal style, he started moving up the wooden stairs. Once they got up, he placed her on the ground and switched on the lights. Once the lights were on, a hallway became present in Rachel's sight. She could now see where the balcony was down the hall along with the many doors that probably led to many rooms.

"You didn't have to do that; you know, carry me up the stairs?" she smiled as she began walking forward and viewing the tan walls that could someday hold her family portraits and memories.

"There's still some more work that needs to be done to the stairs. I didn't want the nails sticking out of the wood to hurt you or rip the bottom of your dress. Besides, I wanted to carry you. It adds to the whole being newly married effect." He laughed.

"Well, I think it was very sweet of you. It's very chivalrous and gentleman-like if you ask me." She complimented.

"Well, thank you Mrs. Hudson." He replied, pulling her closer to him.

"You're quite welcome, Mr. Hudson." She whispered, looking up at him. Leaning forward, he pulled her into his kiss.

"Okay, before we get too cheesy, I think I'm up for that upstairs guide." She laughed. "Plus, we have a flight to catch soon." She said, interrupting the moment. She felt bad that she did ruin their perfect moment, but she knew that they'd have a million of those on their honeymoon. She couldn't wait.

"I thought you'd never ask." He smiled, grabbing her hand once more and pulling her to the closest room. Switching on the light, Rachel viewed a room almost as large as the living room downstairs.

"Let me guess, this is the master?" she asked, looking around and tracing the walls with her fingers.

"I don't know, you tell me…" he replied, opening the white door on the side of the room. Following him, Rachel looked on the other side of the room, where two other doors were. She'd have to ask about those later if Finn didn't show her after this.

Once they got into the other room, Finn revealed a bathroom almost the size of her old apartment. Looking around the room, Rachel opened a door. She was curious to see why there was a door in the bathroom. Assuming it was a supply closet or something, she rested her eyes on a very old looking toilet.

"We'll definitely improve that." He assured her.

"I was thinking that we get new counter tops for the two sinks I was planning to put right there. Then we can put a shower right there." His face lit up as he pointed to different places in the room.

"And right there in the corner, a huge garden tub with Jacuzzi jets for when the kids give us too much stress. I'll even ask for one with cup holders on the sides for our glasses of wine." He chuckled, "This would be our bathroom."

"What are those two other doors on the other side of the room?" Rachel asked as they walked back into the bedroom; her curiosity getting the best of her.

"Come see!" he exclaimed, jogging over to the two doors. Pulling both of them open, he switched the lights on. Before Rachel were two walk-in closets.

"No way!" she exclaimed like a little kid, jogging in the same direction a minute or two before.

"Go ahead." Finn smiled after seeing her face. "Pick your closet first, Rachel Hudson." He laughed. She felt like she was downstairs on Christmas morning.

"Really?" she asked.

"Really." He repeated as a statement.

"I want this one." She smiled, referring to the first one on the right; the door closest to the windows.

"Wanna see something?" he asked, which reminded her of a younger version of him that used to run with her in her backyard. Walking into her closet, she watched Finn turn a corner as she followed in tow.

"They connect." She told herself.

"They connect." He confirmed. "Plus, if you slide this piece of wood to the side, you'll see that there's a small door behind where our clothes will hang. I checked it out before-hand." Demonstrating, he slid the wall to the side, revealing a metal door. Taking a small black figure from the pocket of his tuxedo, Rachel found it to be a small remote. Pressing on one of the buttons, a loud click sounded through the room. Pulling on the small knob, the door opened to reveal more stairs.

"Is this like your secret path to the kitchen? Are those the stairs I saw in the kitchen?" she asked, seeing a stairway going down into the dark room.

"I wish." He laughed at her joke. "It's sort of like a safe haven. It's like a more updated version of that movie 'Panic Room' with Kristen Stewart. The real estate agent told me that it was created in the time of the Cold War. They were scared that America would break out into war with the Soviet Union and they wanted some sort of protection. Not to mention that the man who lived here before was totally paranoid. This staircase leads into a completely enclosed bullet and fire proof space." He explained.

"Come see." He said, going down one step and holding out his hand for hers to take it. Once they were both downstairs, Rachel was stunned by how awesome this was. She felt like she was in a movie. "There's a knob on the other side of that wooden panel I slid to the side. It's sort of like a cabinet. Once you get on the staircase, you slide it shut and close the metal door. It's like a disguise. Once you close the metal door, it gets bolted shut or something like that and it's impossible for someone on the outside to get in. You just have to make sure that you have this little remote with you. If this gets found and this red button gets pressed, this door will open. "

"It's also completely secretive. The only reason I know about it is because the agent told me about it when he sold me the house. Downstairs, it presents itself as one of the walls in the living room. It's the coolest thing ever, Rach. This is my favorite part of the entire house." She looked so amazed. "I thought we could use this if something happened and I wasn't home to protect you and our future kids. I know with the company I'll have to go on future business trips and even though we both hate being away from each other, I'll have to travel nationwide for endorsements."

"I hate the sound of that." Rachel admitted.

"I know, baby, and so do I. But, it's the cold reality of life. It's my job. So, when I'm not here, I want you to be one hundred percent safe. Because, you know I'll worry like a crazy person when I'm away and I'll lose sleep. Plus, there's always break-ins happening everywhere and they didn't exactly give Mandy a life sentence." He told her. "Even if we don't need it for those reasons, the real estate agent also told me that it's perfect for house fires, tornadoes, snow storms, and power outages."

"I've already checked it out." He smiled, motioning for her to walk closer to him. "They have a phone on the wall over there with its own secret phone line that runs under the house. There's also full view cameras of the entire house, a fully stocked medical kit, a fridge that needs to be stocked with food and drinks just in case, and then there's this safe right here." He pointed to it.

"What's in the safe?" she asked.

Typing in the four numbered code, another click noise sounded through the room and the small metal compartment opened. Picking up an object, it took a few moments before Rachel realized what it was. Stepping back, Rachel placed one hand before her.

"Finnegan Christopher Hudson, what the hell are you doing packing heat in a house that we don't even live in yet?" she asked, sounding like a concerned mother.

"It's for our protection, Rach." he replied, placing it back in the safe and closing it. "It's fully loaded and ready for if anything were to happen where you need to use it."

"I won't have to." She assured him. "Don't talk like that, okay? The thought of that stuff gives me the chills and not in the good way. Everything's going to be okay for us and for our kids."

"I know, but just in case, okay?" he replied. "This will be my way of protecting of my family when or when I'm not here; which hopefully won't be often, or even at all. But, I'll always feel so much better knowing that it's it here." He told her. "Maybe we can use it as a hook up spot for when the kids are home and we don't want to get caught. Did I mention the sound proof walls?" he laughed, causing Rachel to smack him on the arm.

"Finn Hudson, you are so bad!" she exclaimed. "It's amazing. I love you so much for worrying about me and our future family." She smiled, wrapping her arms around him as they exited the closet.

Exiting the room that would be theirs, they entered a room across the hallway. This one was smaller, but it was still just as beautiful. There was another door on the other side of the room, which Rachel assumed was another closet.

"I was thinking that this is where our first child could be. We could paint the walls blue or pink, or whatever color we want. They'd be right across the hall, so we'd be close." He mapped out. "There are also three more bedrooms down the hallway. They all surround a bathroom in the middle." He informed her.

After he showed her all of the other rooms and the bathroom, they headed to the end of the hallway where a door stopped the walkway.

"What's this?" she asked as they got to it.

After Finn opened the door, another staircase was revealed. Taking her hand, he led her up the path. "Remember those stairs in the kitchen? Well they lead to the same place as this door." He informed her.

"Oh, okay." She replied, not paying much attention due to the huge filling of interest in her conscience.

Opening yet another door once they got to the top, he held it open so Rachel could walk out before him. The minute she took one step, she felt the night air against her face. The light shining from the moon was the only light guiding her.

She instantly knew that this was going to be her favorite part of the whole entire house. The door that she stepped out of led to this widow's deck at the top of the house. The stars and the moon were shining so bright and looked so incredibly beautiful from where she stood. If this wasn't the most romantic thing, she didn't know what was. She had just found her new heaven.

Going over to the railings on the other side of the deck, she really felt like a princess in a castle looking out onto her beautiful land. Rachel was amazed by the view this deck possessed. There were so many acres in the back of their house from the view her eyes gave her. She already dreamed of what she would want to see when she would come up here. Their backyard would have big swimming pool, a swing set, a barbeque pit, and maybe a little garden of flowers like Kurt and Blaine had in their backyard. She already dreamed of all of it. She loved it. She loved all of it.

"I hope you being speechless is a good thing." He stated, wrapping his arms around her from behind as she gazed out to the amazing view.

"Someday when I get older I'm gonna live here." She repeated from her memory for Finn to hear. She tried to mimic her childhood voice. "I'm gonna live here with my boyfriend, and we're gonna be like a prince and a princess."

Once she started chuckling, he joined her. Then, they were joined in full blown laughter at how silly they were back then.

"I know that the house has so many rough patches right now, but I promise if we do live in it, it'll be remodeled and restored to its former beauty. It'll be like a modern Antebellum home. I already have a team of experts drawing up blue prints and plans." He told her. "I know that all of this probably seems so crazy to you, especially with what I'm offering here. I mean, moving back to Lima from New York City, a town we've become equipped with these past years, will absolutely not be easy. But, I think that this will make us really happy, Rach."

"I know it's gonna be like hell leaving the city where we've made most of our awesome memories and saying goodbye to all of our friends will be sad, but this is where our home is Rach. This is where all of the greatest and most awesome childhood memories that we have played out. I know you hated Lima in high school and couldn't wait to leave once you graduated, but I think our children will have a better life here than they would in a big city full of crime; the same crime that we've witnessed firsthand. I think that Lima is the safest place that I know of, and I want our children to have the same memories of backyard adventures and imagination that we had growing up here. Rach, this is where I want to build a life with you."

"And now you're looking at me like I'm crazy; which means one thing. You're questioning in your head how in the world we're going to make all of this work. I'll tell you this: I'm not promising you that it's going to be easy, because God knows it won't, but I'm promising you that we'll find a way to make it work, okay? I have everything all mapped out." He smiled. "They're promising to have this house finished within the course of a year or two. So, until then we'll stay in New York and get prepared for the move. Also, I did a little researching job-wise. I talked to Will at the wedding. With him being the principal and all, he told me that they were looking for some teachers to hire."

"Finn, I'm not a teacher. I'm a surgeon." Rachel reminded him as if he lost his mind.

"Wait, you didn't let me finish. McKinley High is starting this new program where they are adding different electives to the teaching courses to help the students with decisions in career planning. Some of those elective classes include the medical field. Will said they were looking for teachers to fill those teaching positions. He also informed me that your medical experience makes you eligible." He smiled as her facial expression became more amused.

"You would start next year when we'd officially move into the house. He told me that he would hold off one of the positions for you if you agreed to take the job. There's like a certified test you have to take before you get the job, but I told him that if you decided to take the job you'd pass it with flying colors. You'd be working eight our weekdays; like the normal teaching schedule. What do you think?" he asked.

She literally couldn't find the right words to leave her mouth. She tried but she just couldn't think of anything. She was left speechless once again. Thank you, Finn Hudson. Realizing she wasn't going to say anything, he began to speak again, trying to convince her more into accepting his dream for them.

"Do you remember that time we babysat Jeremy when Quinn and Sam went out of town? We were sitting after a long day in Times Square with a three month old baby." He laughed.

"Yeah, I loved that day. Although, we were kind of stupid to bring such a young baby to such a big part of the city on such a cold day." She added.

"I know, but that was like one of the best days of my life. That was like the first time that I ever looked at a baby and realized that they aren't little gross alien-looking thingies that are sent to ruin your life. That day was the first day that I ever actually considered myself as a father figure." He admitted.

"What about that whole high school incident with Quinn, Puck, and Beth?" Rachel asked, out of curiosity.

"I don't know. That was an entirely different ball game for me, Rach. I was like 16 and wasn't serious about anything. To be honest with you, I never really thought about the idea of being father during that time. I just assumed that it would hit me when I was holding the actual child in my arms. But, it didn't get far enough for that to happen and then the truth came out and forgive me for saying this, but I felt more relieved that I wasn't Beth's actual father than the actual pain that I felt for the fact that Quinn cheated on me with my best friend." He explained. "We were all just stupid kids back then and now I consider Quinn and Puck two of my closest friends. I guess we all just grew up so much since then."

"You have," Rachel agreed, "All of you." She smiled, running a hand against his cheek. "Let me tell you something, Finn Hudson. I am way beyond proud of the amazing man that you've become since high school. I know you had your rough patches, especially with all of those ladies that were in and out of your bed in the past years. You were like a welcome mat for random bimbos all over the city; no telling where they've been." Rachel got ahead of herself.

"I thought this was an inspirational speech?" Finn asked, interrupting her.

"Right, sorry." She laughed with a sincere expression. "It's just so unbelievable that you've completely transformed into this man. I'm just so proud of my sexy husband." She smirked.

"Well, if you think I'm sexy than it must be true." He flirted, wrapping her in his arms and tipping her over for a dip. Their faces were an inch apart before Finn closed the gap. No one could understand how right this felt, besides the two of them. If this was the best that her life was ever gonna get, she'd throw her hands up and say "let it be".

"Want to hear a secret?" she asked, as they pulled apart and looked out into the backyard. After giving her his nod of approval, Rachel continued. "When we spent that weekend with Jeremy, I pretended that it was our family. It felt so amazing to get looks from other people and hear them say how cute 'our kid' was." She laughed shyly. He must have thought she was the biggest dork after hearing her admit that.

"I thought I was crazy for thinking that way." He smiled a wide, teethed grin. "Thank goodness I wasn't the only one." They both laughed in harmony. "Do you remember what you said to me that night?" he asked.

"Yeah." She replied, taking a deep breath and tilting her head. "I told you that I wanted more from life than I was receiving."

"You told me that you didn't like the future that you saw for yourself. You said that you were scared to death of becoming your parents and you didn't want to be that person always working with no time for a personal life. I remember the complete sadness that fell over your face once you realized that you didn't want any of that for the future version of yourself and your kids. My heart absolutely broke for you when you explained how it felt like everyone else around you was moving forward with their lives while you were stuck standing still. Rach, now's your, I mean our, chance to move forward. This is a chance for you to be the person that you wanted to be. But, more importantly, this is a chance for you to make the difference you wanted to make while saving lives in the hospital. These kids can learn so much from you. You can help them follow their dreams, and years later they'll have you to thank for giving them the knowledge and education in order to make that dream come true. If you don't like the direction your future is traveling in, make a freaking u- turn Rach. Remember how I said that? I know you can be the best. You know why? Because I believe in you. I'm still that same best friend that sat on the side of you and told you that I'd be here for you no matter what and that I'd love you through all of it. Not a single word that I said that day has changed. Here and now's your chance, Rachel. All you have to do is say yes."

"I don't need to make a u- turn, Finn." I already like the direction my future is heading in." Rachel replied.

"Rachel, please…"

"I'm gonna be great. I can already see it now." She smiled to herself. "I'm gonna be married to the boy of my dreams; who also happens to be my childhood best friend. In a year, or two, we'll move into our big beautiful and newly remodeled home where then we'll start our beautiful family. Hopefully in that order." She laughed. "A boy with his father's humble heart and handsome smile," she added.

"And a little girl with her mother's immense beauty and contagious laugh." Finn smiled. "Hopefully they both obtain their mother's dancing skills." He joked.

"And their father's nose," she replied with another joke which gained a laugh from Finn. "I'm going to become the best teacher at McKinley high and we're going to have a million 'Teacher of the Year' awards all over our house. I'm gonna be everyone's favorite teacher and I'm gonna be one of those totally hip teachers that all of the kids love and talk about." Finn laughed at her enthusiasm. "Not to mention that I'm gonna become one of those awesome soccer moms."

"I'm gonna organize like bake sales and preschool events. I'm going to bake a bunch of brownies and chocolate chip cookies for all of their parties, games, and play dates." Finn laughed. "Hey, don't laugh at me jokey! Are you gonna step up and be the rad dad with the spatula?" she made fun. "Because last time I checked, that burnt turkey is still engraved in the back of my mind from that one Thanksgiving." She snorted as her laugh got louder.

"That was one time!" he defended.

"Oh and honey, you're going to love this next one." She smirked, using a low seductive voice.

"What is it?" he asked, flashing his crooked smiled while lowering his voice as well.

"I may or may not be totally planning to sport a bob once I have like two kids. You know the theme soccer mom haircut?" She informed him. "Except, no matter how fat I get when I'm pregnant, mom jeans are totally out of the question. I'll wear jeggings if I have to. Fashion always comes first. If not, I may not make it past Kurt or Santana." She laughed.

"You're kind of turning me on right now, Rachel Berry."

"When do I not?" she asked.

"Never." He replied. "So, with all of this future talk, I'm guessing that was a yes?" Finn asked with an ear to ear grin.

"Finn, you bought me a house. Plus, it wasn't just any house. It was my dream house that you remembered after I've only mentioned it once; when we were kids. What do you think?"

Reaching out for her, he picked her up and spun her around. If only there were cameras around to catch this beautiful moment. That's where the beauty of memory came in…

"Maybe we should get going, Mrs. Hudson. We have a honeymoon to attend." He told her.

"I think you're right." she agreed. "I just don't want to leave." She pouted like a child.

"I know. Neither do I." he said, wrapping an arm round her shoulders. "But, don't worry. I assure you that we'll be walking through these front doors soon enough with all of our boxes."

"Yeah." She smiled. "I guess I'm just a little confused." She said, turning to Finn with a serious expression. His expression turned serious as well.

"Why are you confused?" he asked, worried.

"I thought Finn Hudson was going to buy this house for Taylor Jones after he married her." She joked. He flashed a defeated look. He flashed a fake smile and placed his hands in the air showing his surrender. "Finn, you don't get it. She hangs out with him like all of the time." Her serious expression faded as soon as the laughter made its way out and she couldn't help herself.

"Ha-ha, real funny." Finn said sarcastically. "How about we head to the limo, you goof?"

"Sounds like a good idea. Maybe then we could get a head start on all of those kids we're going to be filling all of those rooms with." She joked.

"I like the way you think, Mrs. Hudson."

"Rachel, honey, I love you dearly and don't mean to rush you, but if we stand out here for another second, my leg might actually all off." Finn's shaky voice filled the air.

"It's not working." She replied, frantically.

"Try breathing and calming down." He said. "I'm fine, okay? I just need a place to sit down."

Quickly sliding the key into the door, the small light on the knob to their hotel flashed red, rejecting Rachel's key. This caused her to panic even more. After being rejected once more, her shaking hand slid the card back in and the green light flashed along with the following click sound. Pushing the door open, the cool air from the hotel room hit her and sent a chill through her body. It didn't exactly help that she was wearing only her swimsuit and her flip flops, covered in ocean water and sand. She didn't exactly have time to put a towel over her, or the very least, her cover-up.

As she slowly made her way further into their hotel, she closed the door behind them and slowly walked over to small dining area by the kitchen. Pulling out the nearest chair nearest chair, Rachel helped Finn sit down. Gently grabbing the injured leg, she propped it up on another chair.

"Is that okay?" she asked, worrying for him.

"Yeah." He replied in a voice just above a whisper. The discomfort was painted on his face just as the misery was implanted in his voice. "Remind me again why we decided to go to the beach for our honeymoon…" he chuckled.

"My husband wanted to see how I would looked in a hula skirt." She laughed. "Okay, hold on." She said before turning and running over into their bedroom and basically diving for her suitcase. Going through the many zippers and compartments, she finally found the small bottle of pain reliever that she got through airport security. Grabbing it, she ran over to the fridge in the kitchen and grabbed the first drink in her view; a half empty bottle of water. The rest of the drinks in the fridge were bottles of beer, wine coolers, and margarita mix. She'd definitely have to take another trip to that small grocery store up the road.

Handing Finn two capsules and the bottle of water, she watched as he downed what was left of the bottle. Holding her hand out, he placed the empty bottle in it before she threw it away. Looking through the many cabinets in the kitchen, she finally found the bottle labeled 'vinegar' sitting next to the multiple seasonings and spices. Going over to him, she unscrewed the cap and poured the foul-smelling liquid over the small wound on his leg.

"Is that better?" she asked after letting it sit for a few minutes.

"Yeah," He replied. "Much…"

Finn and Rachel were in Maui for their third to last day on their honeymoon. They had been having the time of their lives until today. They had just rushed back to the hotel after an hour long trip to their own private section on the beach. They were swimming around and splashing each other when Rachel heard a huge gasp come from Finn's mouth.

"Crap!" he exclaimed. "Ahh…" Worry fled through her, she didn't have the slightest clue as to why he was freaking out.

"Finn?" she asked, getting closer to him as he tried to walk towards her. "What's wrong?"

"I'm fine. Just, don't come any closer to where I'm standing right now." He warned. "Actually, how about we get out of the water?" His nose was scrunched up in a facial expression that Rachel recognized as his pain face.

As she they both got to the shore, Rachel saw that Finn was slightly limping. Looking down at his leg, there was a slight pink spot on his leg with small bumps around it.

"Let me guess, Jellyfish?" Rachel asked.

"That little sucker stung the crap out of me." He replied. "It hurts so bad…"

"Did you see what it looked like?" she asked, worried.

"Yeah, it had white spots on the top." He said. "Good thing this water is so clear."

"Okay. How about we get you back to the hotel? Can you walk that far?" She asked.

"Can't you just pee on it?" he complained.

"Sweetie, that's just a myth. Peeing on it only makes it worse." She told him. "We have to get some vinegar on it." With that, Rachel stuffed everything in her beach bag and followed closely behind Finn to monitor him and make sure that he was okay.

Now, in the hotel room, she went back into the kitchen and swiftly dug through her purse until she could retrieve her credit card. Going over to his leg, she gently began scraping the deactivated stingers out of his wound. Once they were all out, she stood and disposed of them. She felt the beating of her heart slow down once she saw Finn's relieved expression.

She still inwardly cursed her stupidity. Somewhere deep down inside of her, she knew the right thing to do was seek medical attention as soon as they got out of the water. But, the first thing she did, like every other day in her life, she decided to go with what popped into her mind first; which, was to drag him all the way back to their hotel and try to be a surgeon for a case that she wasn't at all familiar with. She knew it was stupid. If not because of the fact that she should have probably sat him down on the beach and treated him there, then because she knew beforehand that there were box jellyfish present in that water.

Of all of the years that she had studied medicine in New York City, not once did she ever have to treat a jellyfish sting. The only reason she knew what to do was because her dad got stung one summer while vacationing at one of the many beaches in North Carolina. She watched as her daddy frantically ran around their small hotel trying to help her dad, just as she was doing now with Finn.

"How are you feeling?" she asked after a few moments of silence.

"So much better." He replied with confidence.

"Good. That must mean that the pain medicine is starting to kick in." she informed him. "How about we get you into a steaming shower to wash all that nasty ocean water and sand off and then we'll prop your leg up on a pillow in bed and put an ice pack over it?" she instructed, treating him like one of her patients.

"Okay. But I think that I'll feel a lot better if my shower became our shower." He winked. "Plus, I think I'm starting to lose feeling in my legs."

"Finnegan Hudson, don't you dare joke like that. There were box jellyfish in that water!" she exclaimed just before he got up and took off the shirt he was previously wearing, leaving her without words. "You're so lucky that you're hot."

"No, you're lucky I'm hot." He replied cockily, heading towards the bathroom in their room. Rolling her eyes, she took a deep breath and followed him into the bathroom.

Once she got in, the mirror was already starting to fog up as steam poured into the room. The water in the shower sounded through the room. The shower curtain was closed, Finn's swimsuit trunk was on the ground and Finn was nowhere in sight. Smirking to herself, she let her red bikini hit the floor, and jumped behind the shower curtain. Reaching out her hands, she wrapped her arms around the tall figure standing in front of her. Noticing that he wasn't alone, he turned to face her and the hot spray of water enveloped the two of them as he took her into his embrace.

"I can't believe that I actually got stung by a jellyfish…" Finn began. "Who gets stung by a jellyfish on their honeymoon?" he asked disbelief in his voice.

Rachel tried to keep her serious expression on her face, but she just couldn't. "You." She replied, followed by a sudden outburst of laughter. Her laugh became so harsh, she snorted. "I'm sorry." She smiled, as her laughter began to calm down.

'This sort of thing would happen to us on our honeymoon, wouldn't it?" he stated.

"Hey, at least we'll have good stories to tell our kids." She reminded him.

"I can't wait…" he smiled down at her.

"Neither can I." she replied reaching up for a kiss. "Now, let's get cleaned up so we can go buy my little trooper over here some ice cream. Then I'm thinking some wine, while we sit on the balcony and watch the sunset over the ocean. We might even be able to see some dolphins. I love sea creatures so much, don't you?" she asked just before that distinctive and obnoxious laughter filled the air again. This time, he had to join in.

These last three days of their honeymoon would be the best. He couldn't wait to see what was in store with this crazy chick as his wife.
