It was hard to not be embarrassed by her father. He was acting out of control and freaking out because Alec was in her room. It wasn't like no one in the house could hear what they were saying. How many times was Jake allowed in her room and no one freaked out. She continued to follow her dad as he pulled Alec through the house. They walked into the living room and he slammed Alec onto the couch. "I thought I told you there was only one rule!" Alec just sat there letting Edward yell at him. "Dad will you stop!" Nessie was mad now and she didn't like how her dad was talking. Edward acted like he never heard her though. "You are acting like you have no car what the rules are. If you want to stay here you will be listening to me!" Alec just sat there he didn't move or say anything back to him. Nessie wanted to know what he was thinking she didn't want him to leave and never see him again but it felt like it was heading in that direction. "Dad! Knock it off!" Now this got everyone's attention. Everyone slowly made their way into the living room to see what was going on. "I am tired of you treating me like a child. I am an adult, I know you hate to think about that but it is true. You can't get mad at me for having Alec in my bedroom. First off you can hear everything that we say or do if you really wanted too and second Jake has been in my room plenty of times." Nessie just stood there squaring off to her father. Now Alec moved, he got off the couch and moved to stand next to Nessie. "Renesmee Carlie Cullen how dare you talk to me like that. I am your father you have to listen to what I say. Jake is a family friend and we trust him that is why he is allowed in your room. We don't know anything about this guy. I don't know his motives and what he is planning. I am doing this to protect you just listen to me." No one moved or made a noise they were waiting to see what was going to happen. "Dad you need to know that I will know who to trust and who not to trust. You are judging based on incidents that happened years ago. I know what happened only a few months ago. You weren't there you need to believe me when I know how to trust people." Alec grabbed Nessie's hand she calmed down a little when he did this. He knew that things were going to get nasty if he didn't step in.

Without giving anyone time to react he took off. He had a hold of Nessie so he knew she was coming with him. He wanted to get out of the situation and this seemed to be the best way. He would hear about it later but it would stop a major fight from happening right now. He went in a different direction than the meadow, he knew that people would know they went that way. After sometime he felt Nessie slowing down so he started to slow his pace. After about 10 minutes of running he came across another clearing that was in the woods. He stopped and let go of Nessie. "I'm sorry that I just took off like that. It seemed like the only way I could stop the fight I knew was going to happen." "I know and I am sorry I started to yell at my dad like that. He was just making me mad." Alec could tell that Nessie was starting to get upset again. Without hesitating he grabbed Nessie and pulled her into a hug. "You were fine, I am sorry that I have put you in this position." Nessie hugged him back, she felt safe when she was in his arms. "I just wished everyone could understand where I was coming from." Alec pulled out of the hug and looked into Nessie's eyes. "They just want the best for you and I know that. I understand that my past is what affects them the most. I will prove to them that they have nothing to worry about." Nessie wanted to believe that her parents would come around but she had doubts that would ever happen. Her dad was set in his ways and she was afraid that he would never come around to letting her choose her own way. "What is wrong?" Nessie looked up at Alec. "Nothing." "I know you are lying I can see something is bothering you." "I promise it is nothing. I just need to figure things out with my parents." Alec kissed her on the forehead. "Don't let them get you down. I don't plan on going anywhere. If you ever want to leave and go elsewhere I will follow you." It was hard to not blush as Alec was talking to her.

Nessie decided to go over to sit down in the meadow, she didn't feel like going home anytime soon and she liked how this was different from the spot she always went to. She felt Alec following her to the middle of the meadow. "This place is beautiful. How did you know about it?" "To be honest I didn't. I just happened upon it when I was running just now. I knew your family would go to the meadow looking and I figured you needed time to think things out and not to be bothered." He smiled at her and she enjoyed having a new place to go. "Thank you. I would have went to the meadow and gotten mad when others started to show up." She thought it was great to have someone think of things she would have never thought of in the end. She would have gotten upset when Jake showed up to the field to talk to her. With Alec talking to her she didn't get upset she calmed down a little. Nessie figured it was probably because Jake would agree with her parents and Alec understood where she was coming from. Alec laid down on the grass and looked up to the sky. Nessie laid down on top of Alec' stomach. "I am glad we have a place of our own. It makes it even more special because you found it. Whether it be on accident or purpose I am glad that we are here." "I am glad we have a place to get out too where we know no one can hear what we are saying. I like being able to talk to you without having to worry if I am upsetting anyone." She understood what he meant because if they brought up one wrong conversation her whole family could flip on him. They both looked up into the sky watching the clouds drift by and trying to forget about what just happened back at the house.
