~ Chapter Twenty-eight ~
There Were Two
(Part 2)
Dark, ominous feeling traced through his body. Kai knew death was waiting for him inside. He was standing in front of the huge gate of old Lane castle and glared hard at the blood-freezing building that stood defunct.
Devon was tricky that he choose this place. It was far from the city, surrounded by gruesome forests and beefy hills which closed out any chance of help. Here, Kai was a warrior on his own.
Something bristled suddenly among the bushes and Kai's horse jolted whinny in fright. Kai tightened his grip on the bridle as he soothed the scared animal. "Ho-ho… It's okay. It's okay." he got off from the saddle and patted gently the black beauty's jowl. "Thank you that you brought me here my friend. I can't expect you to wait for me here, it's too dangerous." he said softly.
"I know you'll find back home. Go. Go." he directed back the horse and gave it a slight slap on its back to urge it to gallop back on the path they'd come.
For a short while he watched as his faithful horse raced off from his view, then he turned back to face the inevitable. Gathering courage from his inner fire, he squeezed tight his bow and walked to the double door.
Inside, it was dark and quiet. The room he'd stepped in was big and large, yet it was empty. There were no furnishment, the cold walls stood rigid and majestically. The torch-staffs on the walls were burnt out and dense spider-web covered them. The only light that filtered in dimly through the colourful, gothic windows lit the middle of grey room where a boy was kneeling –
"Tyson!" Kai gasped, his heart giving a jolt of relief when he spotted the teen on the circle of faint light.
The boy's arms were tied back behind his back. His long, navy blue hair was dingy and ruffled, his clothes sleazy and dirty as if he'd been beaten. He raised his gaze desperately up at the dual haired.
"Kai. Kai help me!" he yammered pitifully.
Kai's heart wrenched painfully at the sight and started on towards him hastily, but after a few steps he stopped abruptly. An unsure, suspicious feeling crept over his instincts. Something was not right. Narrowed crimson eyes scanned around the place cautiously when he realised something. The silence was way too big.
"Kai, my beloved, help me!" the boy pleaded for him again.
Kai furrowed his eyebrows. Then he felt an eerie, chilly shudder past through him.
"Save me my love!"
So that's how it is. Kai stood still. This time he curved a smirk. "Why should I?"
For a long, stretching moment the teen stared dumbfounded at him. "…Because you love me, and I know you wouldn't leave me here. Hurry up, before they get back!" he pressed on, fidgeting.
Kai raised an eyebrow. "You know, I might did so if you really were Tyson." he answered with frigid indifference.
The boy glared at him. "What?"
"Simple. You can't be him. Frist, Tyson would never use such mushy names on me, and second, he would never beg me to save him on the risk of my own life." Kai's gaze darkened. "He is way too noble and self-sacrificing to ask such. He would kick my ass for coming here. Nice trick, but you failed as an actor."
"Is that so?" the boy droned lowly and lowered his head that his locks of hair hid away his darkened gaze. His shoulders started shaking in an orotund chuckle.
Kai scowled.
"You are really smart." this time the teen's voice was much deeper, like it erupted from the very depth of hell. "Yet you're very dumb that you came here, Kai Hiwatari." he raised back his gaze – this time a pair of red eyes blazed at Kai.
The next second the demon had dropped its false-Takao image and lunged at Kai. The boy reacted fast – he raised his bow and shot directly between the monster's eyes. It pulverized anon into ashes. Something incredulous happened after then. The walls suddenly went pliable and a whole horde of demons slicked into the room. Their blood-freezing cackle echoed in the room as they slowly surrounded the teen.
Kai instinctively backed to the middle while he eyed narrowly the beasts around him with fiery look. He cursed to himself that he'd left himself decoyed so easily. He also doubted now that Tyson was restrained here. He put another arrow in his bow and took aim at them all, around.
"Oh so you wanna have some fun, huh?" he said with smug arrogance, showing no sign of fear. "Well then, let's start it. I can take you down all, one by one."
The demons cackled even louder. The hellish laugh stabbed into Kai's veins like icicles, but his courage swelled more. "What are you waiting for?" he roared. "Come and get me!"

Albert was staring at the winged blue haired teen with his jaw dropped. He didn't believe his eyes!
"Come on now Albert, tell me where is Kai." Takao pleaded the butler for the second time.
The old butler shook himself out of his stupor. "I already told you, I don't know. He rode out not long ago."
"And didn't he say where did he go?" Takao pestered him further with questions, urgently.
"No." Albert shook his head, then frowned. "But he seemed very upset about something because he left in big hurry. He even took his bow with himself."
"Darn it!" Takao punched a fist in the air. "I bet it has Devon to do with it. If I'd come sooner…"
"Devon?" Albert recoiled petrified. "Oh my dear god… you really think that my master went to him?"
"I fear so, if Devon managed to allure Kai somehow away from us." Takao glared darkly. "That's why his demons are attacking Livingston City; he wants to avert attention."
"The city us under assault?!" Albert went now deadly pale as he grabbed to his chest.
Takao ignored him to answer. He chewed on his lips as he prodded hard – then a thought hit him. He kicked himself into the air and flew straight to Kai's balcony door.
"Hey, you can't go in there when my master is not home!" Albert cried after him.
Takao found the balcony door left open. In the room a looked around in hope that he would find something that led him to Kai. He found it. He spotted a half crumpled letter on Kai's bed. He folded it out and quickly read the lines. He gasped.
"Oh my god!"
* x ~ Ö ~ x *
Sweat streaked down on Kai's face. He was panting harshly. His legs were trembling imperceptibly by the effort to keep him upright. He knew at this rate he was going to reach exhaustion and that would be his end. Gods, they were too much.
He had been fighting tenaciously and fervently against these monsters but he couldn't see the point of this vehement battle. Each time he killed one after the other, another popped up always, endless. He could swear they were multiplying so fast like bubbles in the water.
He was aiming his last arrow at them all, but it was clear he wouldn't be able to kill them all, yet he deeply despised to show even the slightest shadow of fear on his face-painted expression.
He grinned loftily as he spoke loudly. "Is that all what you got Devon? Your plan was to allure me here and unleash your bloody beasts? I would have expected better from the great dark wizard, but now I see that you are no more than a sneaky coward who orders others to do the dirty job for you!" his sardonic voice echoed in the room.
The demons came even nearer and he backed a bit, yet he kept his arrow stretched tightly, ready to shot whichever jumped forward first. However, the next moment a steely voice rang in the air.
"Stop there!"
At the order, the demons remained on their places. Somewhere from the depth of dark ambush, a tall man in black cloak stepped forward. Beneath his long, greasy hair his dark eyes were blazing ruthlessly.
"Leave him be. He is all mine." Devon shooed them off frostily. The demons withdrew in to the background. He stepped in the circle. "Kai Hiwatari. What a pleasure to meet you." he said amiable like he met a long-time-no-seen friend.
"Not for me." Kai snapped coldly. His words sounded like they could spit Devon right on the eye. His crimson eyes burnt with immense fire that held rage. He was finally facing the man who was responsible for his parents' death, and for so many people. He aimed the tip of his arrow directly to Devon's face.
Devon, however, stared calmly at him, a cold smile stretching over his thin lips. "My-my, you're not a chatty person, aren't you? Sad. And here I thought we gonna discus this little issue between us before I kill you. I doubt you wanna die without get to know everything about me… cause after all, our destiny is bonded." the curve on his lips resembled to a snake.
"There is nothing between us." Kai hissed with pure hate and disgust.
"Oh yes there is my boy." Devon warned him with rigid calmness. "None of us would be here now, otherwise. You have something that belongs to me and can give the power to set me free… or should I talk about why did I kill your parents? That's also an interesting story. Which one do you wish first?" his smirk was dirty.
"Don't you dare to take my parents' name to your mouth!" Kai's eyes turned red. A muscle jerked in his arm. He could barely hold back himself now.
"Yes I can." Devon retorted. "You're already struggling hard to hold back yourself to shot that arrow to my face. But I know you won't do it, because this is your big chance you've been waiting for, to take advantage on me and you don't want to let it waste because you want to know why. Why did I kill your parents, am I right?"
"You sadistic psycho jerk!" Kai hollered.
Devon looked at him with feigned awe. "Hmm, no one has used this name on me yet, but sounds like a compliment. Am I that bad?" he put a hand on his broad chest as if he was touched and turned to his allies, who nodded with full agreement, laughing.
"Go to hell! All of you!" Kai shouted, trembling with pure wrath. He wanted to shoot that sick madman's face so badly. His fingers were shaking… darn it, why could he just let go?
"Now-now my boy, it's not wise to say something like that for those who actually came from hell." Devon wagged a finger at him. "But you know what? I'm gonna be merciful. I jump into my story right away because I see you're pulling yourself to the very edge – and I don't want that because I want to have my fun killing you – so, here's where it begins…
Once upon a time there was a talented powerful wizard. Everyone admired his greatness just as much as they feared from him. Therefore, they wanted to take him down, saying not even a wizard mustn't possess such great power that can be dangerous for people. In his desperate, the wizard turned to one of the most powerful spirit, who possessed all lightness of life in the universe. The light of eternal life." his eyes blazed with greedy obsession.
"He wanted to seize that power because in the hold of it he could have become invincible. The world would bow in front of him… but the Phoenix had refused to gift him the power. She said he had no pureness in his heart to be worthy of it, and she banished the wizard forever." poisonous anger filled Devon, and a black aura steamed around him.
Kai didn't take off his aim from Devon for a single moment while he listened.
After a short while, Devon continued. "The wizard was disappointed and wrathful. He boiled revenge to seize her power and bring darkness over light. His plan worked perfectly; he managed to tear apart the Phoenix from her beloved Guardian Dragoon. Unfortunately, however, she managed to disappear from sight. She sought shelter among people. She sealed her power into a golden heart and put it into a charitable person… a real Lightkeeper."
Devon buried his hungry gaze into Kai's fiery orbs.
"There are many good people with pure heart, but only one can carry a real golden heart. Over the long years, I didn't spare time to find that special person, no matter how many similar ones I had to kill. And the more I killed I slowly realised that my power was getting stronger – darkness cooperated with me. Then, one day, I found it in a very special person – a young woman."
Kai's face distorted by fury.
"I must say, not only her heart was eye-catching, but her natural beauty, too."
"Don't you dare to take my mother's purity to your dirty mouth, your vile bastard!" Kai snapped murderously.
Devon cackled. "Oh my, you are protective just like your father! Actually, you're very lucky, you know that? Inheriting the power of phoenix after your mother and the ability of your father's is a very special combination that no one has." he tilted is head in ponder. "Hm, the question is, how much control do you have over it?"
"Say one more word and I show you!"
"Go ahead then. What are you waiting for – shoot me!"
Kai's fingers suddenly jerked and gave in. The arrow swished through the air. However, a few inches from Devon's smirking face it smashed into dust.
"Sad. And now that you shot your last arrow, you have nothing." he said naughtily.
"Hn. Not quite so." this time Kai's smirk wiped off the grin from Devon's face. "I still have something in my pocket."
The next moment the air became heavy and smouldering around Kai and the connection with his inner power exploded in a wide, golden aura-shield. Bright, orange-red flames burst out from the limpid, golden shell that protected Kai. He raised both fists and two fireballs burnt out on them.
Devon was amazed. "Ah. So you managed to take control of the phoenix's power. Very impressive. But I doubt even that's gonna be enough to save you."
The look on Kai's hard gaze was dark. "I've trained hard over the years, and I swore that if I'd ever found that man who killed my parents I won't let him get away with it. You won't hurt anyone ever again."
The fireballs on Kai's fists burst wider.
A malicious grin slit over Devon's lips. "We'll see that." with that he lunged forward.

"Are you having fun Maxie?" cried over to him Rei who had just finished sinking a bunch of demons under the ground after he'd opened a large hole with his earth-power. Just as he closed back the gap, another pair of beasts flew towards him – the next second he roasted them into ashes by a static lightning when he flicked his fingers. "Nice try guys, but I rather like eating roast-chicken." he smirked.
"You bet Rei! Haha!" shouted back Maxie who was having his own fun. In his hands he was holding upright two cordy water-jet, swaying them around like lassos, in the end of them, up in the air, two demons were in his capture. He whirled them over and over in a fast spiral move before knocked them together in a loud clang. He giggled.
The circumstances, however, turned worse. The fire extended farther, from house to house, bursting into flames the half city now. The wizard guards were fighting hard and persistently but the overpower of the enemy was increasing. Soon the black smoke and screaming engulfed the whole atmosphere.
"They are too much! We need more help!" shouted Rei over Max in the big fuss. He then spotted an injured wizard guard on the ground who raised his wand shakily on a giant demon that leant over him with its blood-soaked teeth. Rage boiled in him and he sent a another static jolt crash onto the monster. "We have to find the others and bring the injured into cover!" he ran up to his side and hook an arm around him.
At the bottom of a ruined gate, Max espied a red haired girl huddled up. Her school dress was torn and dirty and she was trembling. "Zoe!" he ran up to her. The girl clung onto his arm immediately as Max helped her up. "Come on Zoe, we must get into cover!" the girl only nodded between coughing and let Max support her by clasping an arm around her slim waist.
"Max, watch out!" Rei cried over to them.
A demon had spotted the pair ambling off and it lunged towards them. Max only had time to turn back when he saw a red curse hit on the monster and smashed it. The next moment an army of wizard guards had arrived and started taking down the demons vehemently.
"The succours has arrived!" Max cried with joy of relief.
"It was about time." Rei marked dryly.
A young wizard guard seceded from the group and ran up to Max and Rei. He was tall, handsome, quite well-built and could be around his twenties.
"What are you kids doing here? This is no playground for you!" he rebuked them commandingly. His brown eyes glared as a true warrior.
"Who are you calling kids?" snapped back Mark slightly irritated.
"You. It's dangerous for you to stay here!" said the guard who saved Max and Zoe.
"Really? Guess what, we noticed that the moment our school took on fire." argued back Rei with no hint of respect in his voice. "We have our own reason to fight back too with these monsters and protect our friends! Many would have died if we hadn't helped for the guards to join in. Where have your army been anyway?"
At the sudden harsh scolding the guard man stared stunned when his gaze wandered over Rei who was holding the injured guard upright.
"Sorry for my earlier rudeness but we've been informed only a few hours ago that Livingston City has been taken under assault." the young man changed tone to politeness. "Now that we are here we gonna do everything to defeat them."
Rei wanted to say something but Max cut him off immediately.
"Leave it Rei. We must take Zoe to Kenny and Mariah in safe. Takao needs our help." he groaned as he tried to hold the girl upright.
"You're right."
The young man grabbed Rei's arm insistently. "Takao? Do you know Takao?" he asked suddenly excited.
"Of course, he is our friend." said Rei. "Why do you ask?"
The young warrior's features softened as he looked worried. "He is my little brother."
For a brief moment Max and Rei stared at him dumbfounded.
"You must be Hiro… Takao mentioned that his brother is one from the re-coated guards, but never said you're so… stern." Max smiled wryly.
"Do you know where is he now? Is he alright?" Hiro asked urgently.
"He has gone after Kai. We believe Devon wants to kill him." answered Rei uneasily.
Hiro frowned. "Kai? Who is Kai?"
Max and Rei exchanged unsure glances. Oi-oi, it meant Takao hadn't mentioned Kai in his letters which meant they gonna have an awkward chat once this was over.
* x ~ Ö ~ x *
"Hahaha! I must admit, your power is truly fascinating!" Devon laughed maliciously when his dark curse bounced off from the golden shield. "Only less could be appropriate to summon the power of golden Phoenix, and even less could gain control over it. It's miraculous… but sadly, even she can't save you. Very soon, you're gonna break."
"Hah. You wish." Kai snorted despisingly. "No way I'm gonna give up!"
Devon chuckled lowly. "Then I'll have to make you." he flicked his fingers and the demons drew forward once again.
They didn't manage, though, to get in the teen's near when he threw fireballs to them. Devon didn't seem upset, however, as he was standing calmly on his place and was peering at Kai with strange, calculating eyes. Like he was waiting for something. Kai knew he wouldn't be able to keep this up too long, sooner or later he would run out of energy, but he tried to win time for himself to figure out a way from this trap.
All of the sudden, Devon threw at him another dark curse which crashed against the shield hard. At that moment a small crack appeared on the shield. Kai went stiff in shock and his eyes grew wide. What the… H-How is that possible?
Devon grinned widely. "This is it… there is the weak point."
He shot another curse at Kai who stood still bravely, crossing his arms in front of his chest protectively as he waited for the impact. The curse mashed wider the crack. Kai gasped. Awful, numbing pain stabbed suddenly in the centre of his heart, and he teetered. He grabbed fistfully to his chest with a groan. The agony increased so big that he couldn't keep himself upright and sank on one knee.
Devon laughed up with vicious delight. "Hahaha! Finally! Now who is the strongest one? Tell me Hiwatari, how does it feel like fighting alone? When nobody is standing beside you and you're left on your own?"
"Shut up!" Kai growled out, clenching his teeth. He forced a harsh glare on his tormented face.
"Not even your dear boyfriend will help for you." Devon went on ruthlessly. "He's betrayed you and left you heart-broken – and this is what gonna bring your end. You gonna die alone just like your parents."
"I said shut up!" Kai over-bellowed his pain. Sweat streaked down on his face. He was panting heavily, his vision blurred, but there was something that was still keeping him worked up; his eyes glowed red in deep anger. "Don't you dare to bring Takao into this! He has nothing to do with you!"
"Actually, he has a lot." Devon said, disgust appearing on his face. "That little brat caused many trouble for me and had messed up my plans many times… but then he became the perfect decoy for my little evil plan."
Kai felt his blood ran cold. He went pale. "What?" he rasped.
"I'd set a trap for him at that night in order to unmask him in front of you."
Kai couldn't believe what he was hearing. Takao… all this time, he did tell the truth.
"It was a genius plan, wasn't it? Performing a heart-broken drama to weaken the phoenix power couldn't come out better. I knew I couldn't find the Lightkeeper until he was under the protection of the shield. Therefore, I waited. I must say it came very useful this little brat, in the end, to let him find the person for me, then kill you… my demons are ravaging the city, so I highly doubt your beloved can get here to save you. He will die with the others. And now that I managed to break the bond, nothing can stop me to take you down!" he summoned his greatest power and lashed at the boy.
The shield burst into sparkling pieces. The demons didn't have to be worried anymore from the power of fire and surrounded Kai daringly. The dual haired teen cast a death-glare at them all. It was the most nasty, vile, humiliating situation being given over to the enemy in a vulnerable state. No way he was going to let them win, nevertheless. Whatever it costed. He gathered together as much strength he'd left in him and lifted up back on his feet, standing prideful and solid as a bold warrior.
"Oh what a courage!" Devon mocked. "I heard the Hiwataris are very prideful just as much they are stubborn. How would you like to die?"
Kai's eyebrow twitched with irritation. How dared this filthy bastard mock with him?
Devon raised is hand – then the door suddenly burst open. Takao dashed in breathlessly.
"Kai!" he cried with huge relief when he saw him alive, but went immediately concerned when he saw the state Kai was in; his sweaty, pain-distorted form. He turned his glare at Devon hatefully.
"The philanderer hero has arrived." the wizard marked disappointedly. "I see my demons didn't manage to take you down so fast as I thought."
"Heh. I'm the one you can never take down." Takao grinned cockily, rubbing his nose.
"We will see that." Devon sneered.
"Tyson don't!" Kai tried to shoo him away. "Get away from here!"
"Forget it Kai. I won't leave you here." the bluenette stepped afore steadfastly, his gaze radiating storm determination.
Devon frowned in confusion. "Tyson?... You mean, Takao is truthfully Tyson Kinomiya? The kid who lived the fatal detonation thanks to the Dragoon's protection?" he stared wonderingly for a moment before burst out suddenly in a maniac laugh. "Oh my, this is so good to be truth! I can't believe I have both of them in my hands!"
Kai and Takao stared bewilderedly at the crazily laughing dark wizard.
"Finally! I can not only seize the heart of golden phoenix but kill the brat too who stood in my way twelve years ago! Who would have thought that the Guardian Dragoon had really chosen you!"
Something about the man's evil laugh clicked on Takao's memory. "You! It was you who killed my mother!" he pointed at him accusingly.
"Oh no, no, no, my dear boy. It wasn't me actually." Devon shook his head. His eyes gleamed slyly. "I wish it had been me, but at that night there was only one wizard who had taken blood from lot of people, including your mother… my brother."
"What?" Takao's jaw dropped. Kai stared with agape, too.
"Oh yes, that was our little secret: we were two."
* x ~ Ö ~ x *
"Dad!"
"Hiro! Bring the injured ones, women and children under cover!" yelled Mr. Kinomiya to his son while he was trying to hold back a bunch of demons alone. The other guards were striving to put out the flames on the houses. "We need to muster our power to take them down, but we have to save as much life we can!"
His older son nodded and not caring with the suffocating, dense smoke that filtered in his lungs, he threw himself in the chaos. There was one thought whirling in his mind as he fought himself through the dark fog. He raised his sooty face up in the dark sky, praying. He hoped Takao was alright.
Other side of the city, where the Kinomiya dojo stood, Grandpa saw everything that was happening. His gaze turned hard with flashed anger. "Those monsters are taking down the city and the kids are there. My lil' dudes need help!" he quickly hurried back into the house. He slid open the door of training room and marched determinedly straight up to the Dragoon's sword.
"It's about time we pay back for the evils." with one swift move, he pulled out the ancient family sword from its sanctuary and walked out. Barely had he reached the gate when the sword suddenly started glowing blue. The next moment the enormous dragon broke out from its shelter and swished with lightning speed towards the centre of city.
"Look up there!" a wizard guard cried as he pointed up in the air.
All eyes turned with amazement at the majestic creature that gleamed in the black covered sky like a twinkling, blue jewellery of hope. Both Kinomiyas were staring in awe at the marvellous sight, too.
"It's the Guardian Dragoon!" Hiro gasped bewitched.
Dragoon's beautiful azure form hovered imperially above them. He howled up venomously before he lunged rapidly at the demons, decimating them.
* x ~ Ö ~ x *
"Nobody suspected why was I able to turn up in two places at the same time." Devon said craftily. "Though, we were very different. While I was more talented and mustered so much power under the years of travelling, I didn't need a wand to summon my curses. On the other hand, my brother was far not as good as my shadow yet everyone thought it was me who had killed all of those lives. He was a dumb fool and incredible vain that he thought I would ever share the phoenix power with my dear blood, once I sized it."
He cackled frostily before continued. "I would have killed him myself when I didn't need him anymore, but he was useful as my double-ganger! Then, one day, destiny stole away the chance from me – I heard he'd been killed by an ordinary boy who was under protection of the Guardian Dragoon. That idiot, he should have known better than to not outdare the Dragoon's anger." he said disgustingly. "Even though little did it matter who could be this wonder-child who had stopped my second-blood, I wondered if I would meet this boy one day so I can kill him." a satisfied smirk curved on his lips as he stared at Takao. "Now I know."
"Not gonna happen." Takao retorted daringly. "You're going down, with all of your beast allies! There are thousands of brave people out there who are currently fighting and we won't submit to you!"
"Such a big mouth, but can you prove it?"
At that moment the double door of the room swung open with a deafening crash. Max, Rei and Weylin ran into the room.
"Kill them!" Devon shrieked and the demons lashed forward.
The three boys were prepared what was waiting for them here and responded quickly for the attack – Max built a huge waterfall from his spare energy that suck in the beasts while Weylin threw serial curses at them with his wand. Fearing that the whole building could fall onto them all, Rei didn't dare to risk using his elemental power here and returned to his good old bow and arrows.
Takao spotted a demon lurking in the corner of shadow, right behind Weylin, and he quickly leapt forward to help him.
This opportunity was the excellent moment for Devon. He made his move towards Kai sneakily, who didn't notice him as he was going under fight with a demon, too.
The wizard's eyes gleamed evilly. There was no shield. No one and nothing stepped on his way. Something long and sharp slipped out from inside of his black sleeve, he gripped on it.
Somewhere, deep among the battle Takao's instincts rang in alarm. He turned around – and his eyes went wide.
"Kai!" he made a mad dash to his lover.
The dual haired turned back and at that moment Devon lunged forward.
"Mine!" he shouted.
The dark blade flew straight at Kai. Then –
A dark silhouette covered Kai's sight. A gasping choke erupted from his pale lips. Crimson eyes went wide.
In the room everything went dead silent.
Devon's smile wilted down.
Blood dripped down the ground and formed quickly a large puddle. Kai stared in shock at the black blade that stabbed straight through the body in front of him. The next moment the most agonizing, soul-piercing cry rang up in the air that slashed into Kai's heart wreckingly.
"NO! NO! NO!" Max bellowed with tantalizing cry. "TAKAO!"
The blade had stabbed right through the teen's heart. The light burnt out in his mahogany eyes and he collapsed to the ground lifelessly.
* x ~ Ö ~ x *
The same moment Dragoon's power broke. The ancient spirit howled up as he was tossing and writhing himself all over in pain. The sight was awful.
"What's going on?" Hiro stared up the sky confused. A fearful, ominous feeling crept into his chest. Something bad happened.
The next moment Dragoon's long form faded.
~ End of Chapter ~
Yes, I know what I did, but there is no turning back. This is how I'd planned right from the beginning. However, there is still one last chapter before this story ends, and I won't beat about the bush if I tell, it's gonna have a bittersweet end. But cute. :)
Also, after I finish this, I'm gonna put my pen for rest because after long years of writing I want to relax for a while. So, see you folks in the last chapter soon.
