Hi guys, sorry I took so long, my muse was drifting again. Now, this chapter is the last in the three-parter, and we're back to regular oneshots after this. So review, and let me know what you thought. And to everyone asking about the Ricky and Jack oneshot, I'll have it posted soon. After Fatal Attraction and No Remorse are finished (one more chapter for each) I'll wait about two weeks (probably longer depending on how long it takes me to write everything and organize my story ideas) before posting them. So it'll have five main stories and a bunch of oneshots. And I've decided to try and write a Tom/Harry for the Harry Potter archive, if any of you are Harry Potter fans.

Oh, and also, I heard (actually it's been confirmed) that season 4 of Kickin' it is gonna air in 2014, but Olivia won't be returning (confirmed by her, NOT a rumour). I'm not actually sure how I feel about that, but Liv can do whatever she wants to do (she's starring in the upcoming Disney show "I didn't do it").

On the character front, I'm said Kim's going, but on the whole shipping front, I'm glad. Hopefully that means no more Kick (and if anyone knows me, they know I hate it) but I'm at least wishing the fans of that pairing get some sort of closure. But if Kick isn't gonna be around anymore, maybe the writers will focus more on Jack and Jerry's friendship, they're kinda lacking from what I've seen of season 3 so far, and I think the Kick fans (and me) will scream if they bring in another love interest for Jack (well I won't unless it's Jerry, but this is Disney we're talking about here...) since Kickin' it is mostly targeted at boys (it's written on Wikipedia somewhere) I'm surprised they did the whole Kim/Jack thing anyway.

Alright, onto the story!

(Three days later)

.

My body swayed in time with Jerry's hits to the pad I was holding, and I watched his concentrated face - furrowed eyebrows and wrinkled forehead - with a smile while he repeatedly assaulted the pad. "Ha! Ha! Ha!" he yelled while hitting home with two alternating back-fists and a reverse punch. "Hyah!" he finished with a front-kick to my chest area, and withdrew, completely drained.

I was about to lean over and kiss him on the cheek as congratulations, but Rudy's voice from behind us made us stop in our seemingly innate gravitation towards each other. "Wow, Jerry! You're really starting to focus!" he was amazed, then he smirked, "I don't wanna toot my own horn, but you wouldn't have done it without me," he said smugly.

I rolled my eyes and ignored him, but Jerry spoke up, "Actually Rudy, Jack was the one-"

"Ah, no need to thank me," Rudy cut in with his not-so-subtle modesty, and Jerry and I exchanged similar glances. "But if you were going to send me a box of chocolates - preferably pralines and truffles - that'd be fine," he smiled with a somewhat hopeful expression, and then gleefully sauntered off, locking himself in his office.

I turned to Jerry to ask him about the chocolates, knowing that Rudy wouldn't have brought up chocolates out of nowhere without seeing them. "What do you have chocolates for?"

He shifted uncomfortably on the spot, biting his lip - adorably might I add - before looking up at me. "They're for Kim," he said shyly, and I tilted my head to the side inquisitively.

"Why would you buy our ex-girlfriend chocolates?" I asked with a cheeky grin. I wasn't in any way jealous; if the events of the past few days - I wasn't saying we didn't get past second base, I wasn't saying we didn't - it was that Jerry loved me. And he loved me more passionately and strongly than anyone ever had before.

"Just, a sorry because I caused all this drama," he said quietly. I sighed softly and pulled him into my arms where he belonged, and he hugged me back warmly.

"You don't have to be sorry," I whispered into his neck and I felt him rub my back. He tensed slightly as a door opened, but I didn't move. I didn't think Rudy would mind us hugging, some of Seaford didn't mind seeing it after I broke 'The Duke's' speed-breaking record.

"Oh, I see hugging!" We both jumped at the sound of Milton's voice and immediately untangled ourselves. I prayed I wasn't blushing - which was more than I could say for Jerry - because neither of us had figured out how we were going to tell Milton and Rudy about us.

"Guys?" Milton asked suddenly, scanning us over worriedly. "Where's Kim?" he asked worriedly, and my eyes instantly dropped to the ground. I felt guilty; she hadn't come to the Dojo for days and it was not like her to miss a practice. Even when she broke her arm and couldn't join in, she still came, but she just sat down and watched.

"I don't know, I haven't seen her in a few days now," I said, getting worried. I couldn't help but think she wasn't coming to practice because of Jerry and I. It would have sucked if that was the case, it meant I would have lost an amazing friend just to gain a boyfriend.

"D'you think she's okay?" Milton asked, lightly scratching his head. "She never misses a practice," he pointed out. If Kim just wanted some space, a breather and time to get used to things, I could understand that. But unfortunately for her, us Wasabi Warriors were about as close as friends could get without being squashed together, and that meant we knew each other down to a T and Milton wasn't going to let up.

"Oh, y'know," Jerry started hesitantly, and I already knew this was going to end badly. "She's probably out doing, uh..." his voice faded and he looked at me desperately. I had to help him.

"Girl stuff," I jumped in without thinking, then I realised how ridiculous that sounded. "Stuff that girls, do," I nodded with an unconvincing grin, elbowing Jerry so he would go along with it.

"What's going on?" Milton asked with a suspicious look in his eyes. Jerry and I looked at each other nervously. "You're both acting really weird," he stated, "and that's saying something in Jerry's case," he joked, smiling while Jerry frowned.

"Let's just get to sparring, please," Jerry asked, clearly miffed with Milton's comment.

"Since when do you want to spar?" Milton asked in surprise.

"I'm getting better, Jack's been helping me," he told him confidently. "Check it." He smiled at me, and was about to launch into a jumping spin-kick, but the door dinged, distracting all of us. A relieved grin spread across my face as I saw Kim standing in the doorway, wearing her 'I'm a Gleek' t-shirt. She always wore that when she was excited about something.

I heard a sudden thump and looked down to see Jerry in a crumpled heap on the floor. I yanked him up with a chuckle, while Milton sprinted over to Kim and wrapped her in a tight bear hug. She seemed surprised, but hugged him anyway.

"You're alive!" Milton was nearly cheering with excitement.

"Yeah, I'm alive," she smiled at him. She looked at us over Milton's shoulder, and Jerry and I exchanged nervous glances while he began biting his bottom lip.

"Kim?" I called over to her and she walked towards us once Milton released her from his constricting hug. "Can we talk to you for a second?" I asked, she nodded and Milton looked at us from the side lines. I had to make sure there were no hard feelings between the three of us, or practices from then on were going to get awkward.

"I'm sorry," I blurted out suddenly, and Kim looked surprised, while Jerry nodded in agreement. "I know you weren't showing up because of us," I dropped my voice to a whisper so Milton couldn't hear us even though he was discreetly craning his neck to try and hear.

"It's not because of you two," she shook her head, smiling with reassurance, but neither of us were completely convinced. The co-incidences and timing were just too much to ignore. "I've been busy planning the Fall Ball," she said.

"Kim-"

"Seriously, it wasn't because of you two," she grabbed hold of one of our shoulders and shook us lightly. "I should have said something earlier I suppose," she said sheepishly.

Jerry suddenly scuttled off and went to his locker. He opened it and jogged back to us, holding a heart-shaped box of chocolates gift-wrapped with a red silk bow. "Oh, Kim, I uh," he held them out for her, "I got these for you," he smiled at her.

"Thank you?" she took them, clearly confused by the heart shape and the bow.

"It's just a sorry I stole your boyfriend," Jerry shrugged. "And the heart-shaped box was all they had left at the store," he added.

Kim's face lit up in a smile and she unlaced the bow. "Aww, that's so-" she stopped as she pulled the lid off, and her smile dropped. "The box is empty!" she held it up, throwing it on the ground.

"Rudy!" Jerry and I yelled in the direction of his office. His door opened and his head popped out.

"What?" he asked.

"Did you eat the chocolates?" Jerry asked.

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Rudy lied. He was the only one in the Dojo besides Jerry and I this morning, and I didn't even know about them until a few minutes ago. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to see my Doctor about digestion pains." He slipped out from behind his door and ran out the Dojo in a hurry.

"He's a special one, Rudy," Kim chuckled, and we smiled in agreement.

"Yeah, he is," Milton's voice sounded from behind us, and I jumped. I'd completely forgotten he was there. "So, are you and Jack going on another date soon?" he looked at me and Kim excitedly, and she shot me a glare. I shrugged at her and motioned towards Milton with my head.

"Uh..." her voice trailed off as she tried to think of something suitable to say. "Milton, Jack and I aren't going to go on anymore dates. Instead, Jack's going to go on dates with Jerry," she said, and Jerry was looking at me like he just wanted to duck and roll out of here, and for once I was in agreement of his plans.

"What?" Milton asked in amazement. It was obvious he didn't believe us, I could tell he was close to laughing.

Almost to spite him, I wrapped my arm around Jerry's shoulders, and he took hold of my free hand, lightly playing with my fingers. "Jerry and I are dating," I said in simple terms even he could understand.

Milton suddenly doubled over snickering. Kim glared at him and Jerry and I frowned at each other. Why did he think we were playing a joke on him? "Oh that's a good one!" he chuckled once he rose, Kim looked like she was about to hit him, but if anyone was going to hit him, I was going to.

"It's true!" Kim said in exasperation.

Milton's laughing immediately ceased and he looked like he had just broke Rudy's Katana sword. "Really?" he asked. slightly backing away as Kim's glare became murderous and I was beginning to send him one of my own.

"Yes!" all three of us yelled so loudly he visibly jumped. As our joined outburst began to sink in, his eyes suddenly went blank and his face screwed up. I looked at Jerry in surprise, but he didn't look like he knew what was going on - which, if I was being far, wasn't anything new - and Kim was confused too.

"What's he doing?" I asked her in bewilderment. Deep down, I was praying Milton wasn't homophobic. That was my worst fear, having to tell someone and then finding out that they hate me and everyone like me. I was more worried with my parents though, seeing as I had to live with them and Milton - if he was - he was someone I could just ignore. Besides, even if he did hate me, he wouldn't be stupid enough to raise a hand to me.

"He's just processing," she told me with a smile, seemingly sensing my discomfort. "I've got this." She walked over to him, still retaining that innocent smile, and then promptly slapped him around the face. Jerry and I both winced from the sound of skin on skin as it echoed through the quiet Dojo.

Milton shook his head like he was just coming out of a daze, and he looked at the two of us, still holding hands. "Jack and Jerry are dating!" he yelled in shock, and Jerry rolled his eyes. I was glad Kim had snapped him out of it, although he looked like he was going to have a nasty bruise there. The skin was already reddening.

"Dude, not so loud," Jerry winced, then he looked around, motioning for him to keep it down. "Even the walls have ears, yo," he whispered, nodding surely. Kim chuckled and Milton looked confused.

"They only have ears because you were trying to talk to them and got your ear plastered to them," I put in.

"I thought I heard something in there," he pouted, and I rubbed his arm comfortingly. He smiled and hugged me back from the side, resting his head on my shoulder. Milton's expression was a confusing one, but luckily he didn't look disgusted.

"When did this," he frantically motioned at the two us us, looking extremely lost and like his head was about to explode with the new information. I had to give him credit, it wasn't every day someone found out their two best friends were gay and for each other at that. "Happen?" he asked.

"The same night Jack and I left for our date," Kim told him, and Milton's eyes bugged out of his head while his jaw dropped. Jerry nodded, and I just shrugged sheepishly, expecting him to half launch into a tirade about 'how much I liked Kim and that I'd had a crush on her', but thankfully he never did.

"And you're not mad?" he asked while wrinkling his eyebrows. In all honesty, I was surprised she wasn't mad; last year she beat up the School Mascot because the guy in it said that her nose job went great, and she hadn't been near a plastic surgeon in her life. But I supposed the kind of things that were said and done that night were more likely to upset someone than make them angry.

"No," Kim shook her head, and then an awkward looking smile crossed her face. "In fact, I kinda got them together," she chuckled in a sheepish tone, wringing her hands. Once again, Milton went quiet.

"Milton are you okay?" I asked him.

"I need to go to some advanced Chemistry equations before I can process it," he said in a monotone voice, his eyes staring through us, not at us. He walked out of the Dojo in a seemingly Zombified state. I laughed as he walked right into some poor old lady, sending her flying. Instead of picking up her shopping, she whacked Milton extremely hard with her handbag, making him crumble to the ground. Jerry snickered beside me.

"Translation?" I asked Kim, who was laughing as the old lady was still beating the life out of Milton with her hand bag.

"He's happy, but a little in shock," she said, and I felt relieved. I had nearly lost her and Jerry, I didn't need to add him to the list. I wasn't going to add him to the list. "Come on," Kim grinned and grabbed the both of us, and began pulling us towards the door.

"Where are we going?" I asked as Kim shoved us out into the courtyard. She came beside us and started walking.

"To Narnia!" Jerry yelled excitedly, and I burst out laughing, remembering the time he had tried to convince me he had found Mr. Tumnus and the White Witch, but Mr. Tumnus was just his neighbour who hadn't shaved for a week and bizarrely, wore animal ears, and the White Witch, was a woman on her way to a costume party.

"Fall Ball outfit shopping," she grinned. My eyes widened in horror and she giggled. I didn't do shopping, ever. When I was younger, my Mum had to chain me to sit in the trolley because I'd always run off outside.

"I object!" Jerry yelled, holding his hand up and stopping in his tracks. I chuckled and grabbed his hand. I followed Kim while dragging Jerry with me.

"Jerry we're not in court," I smiled at him.

"Please?" Kim wheedled, grabbing onto my free arm. "It'll be fun," she smiled. "You can even get matching flowers-" Jerry and I groaned in mutual horror, "matching suits-" Jerry and I groaned again, making Kim frown. "And you both need haircuts for one..." she looked at me.

"No!" I clutched my hair. There was no way I was cutting it, I was in the running for Best Hair again, and if I cut it too much I'd lose. To Frank! I looked at Kim, and she was looking at me with puppy dog eyes. I held a strand of my hair, it was getting a bit long, and my fringe was growing in a weird direction.

"Alright, maybe a little off the bottom," I bargained, and she nodded approvingly.

"What about highlights?" I couldn't tell if she was teasing me or not, but she did know Jerry and I weren't Kelsey and Grace, didn't she?

"Kim?" Jerry piped up, "you are aware we're dudes, right?" he asked her.

I slipped my shirt back over my head and walked out of the separated cubicle with another shirt draped over my arm. I added it to the ever-growing pile, and studied it briefly. It seemed like Kim was treating us to more than an outfit for the dance. She had already bought her dress - frantically shielding it from our view while she put it in the bag and refusing to let us sneak a peek - before we came here.

Kim held out another shirt for Jerry to try on, and thankfully that was the last thing that was among the mini mountain she'd brought in. "Jerry, try this on." She handed him a tight-fitting black shirt, and he took it, disappearing into his previously occupied stall, pulling the curtain closed.

"Kim, do we really need this much?" I asked uncertainly as I started to fold my clothes up and put them in a pile. "It's only one dance," I told her.

"Yes," she nodded, and then she looked me up and down. "I've seen your wardrobes," she chuckled. I frowned; what was wrong with my clothes? They were awesome!

"Oh really?" Jerry's muffled voice came from the curtain, and it sounded like he was struggling with the shirt. "Then what color is it?" he asked her cheekily, and I laughed. Kim glared at me, and I held my hands up in surrender.

"Just try it on," she said to Jerry through the curtain.

"Fine!" he yelled, and then he broke into angry Spanish. I sniggered as a few familiar words - words that would get me grounded - reached my ears. I understood most of what Jerry was saying because I was taking advanced Spanish. Oddly enough, Jerry was still in the regular Spanish class, and he actually was Spanish!

"What did he just say?" Kim asked once the rant had ended.

"You don't want to know," I said, and her jaw dropped open with a head shake in Jerry's stall's direction. If she understood him, she would kill him.

"Thanks for doing all this," I smiled at her. I felt a little like I was imposing on her, but she was the one who had suggested it. How she got enough money was beyond me, the most I could buy whenever I was out was one video game and maybe some sweets depending on how much the game was. "You don't have to. I was just gonna skip this thing and rent a scary movie," I mumbled.

"I don't mind, you're my friends," she rubbed my arm and smiled. I was still surprised nothing was awkward between us, but I supposed since we had never really had a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship, there was nothing to miss once it was gone. "And you have to be at the dance because you're Vice President remember?" she reminded me.

"How could I forget?" I rolled my eyes at her, and then a sudden grin spread across my face. "Oh, that means you can't dance at the ball," I said. Her eyes widened.

"Why not?" she pouted.

"Because I said a few weeks ago, and I quote, 'Motion to ban the President from ever dancing again', while you were dancing like this," I mimicked her dancing, getting several stares from the odd person around us, but I didn't care. Kim slapped my arm and I stopped, straightening up.

"But I fired you so it's invalid," she stuck her tongue out at me, and I stuck mine out back at her.

"One, I quit," I emphasised, holding up a finger, "and two, I'm Vice President again, so the motion is very much in-motion again." I was still grinning and she looked like she was going to murder me, but luckily Jerry's curtain opened in time and she turned around to inspect him, forgetting about me.

"So, whaddya think?" Jerry asked, showing off the shirt. It hugged his muscles perfectly and he looked hot. I wolf-whistled and wiggled my eyebrows suggestively at him. He blushed and wouldn't look me in the eye.

"I can't say it in front of Kim," I smirked at him, and he blushed and even deeper shade of red. I winked at him and Kim rolled her eyes.

"You look great Jerry," Kim smiled, and he walked back into the stall to change back. She then clapped her hands together and spun around towards me. "Okay, I think you've got everything, now we just need flowers and haircuts." She bent down to pick up my clothes and then she thrust them into my arms.

"Uh!" I groaned in exasperation just as Jerry came out of the stall and picked his own clothes up. "Why don't you just make me drink Rudy's foot sweat?!" I complained as we walked out towards the check-out. Jerry wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into him before I had the chance to walk off.

Kim piled our clothes onto the counter, and the lady scanned them all. My eyes widened when the total came up to thirty pounds, and I wondered how she was going to pay for it but then she pulled out a credit card and swiped it through the machine.

The woman smiled and tapped a few keys on the till. Kim removed her card and the receipt snaked out of the machine while she began bagging our clothes.

"Thanks," Jerry called back to the woman, waving happily at her. We walked down the street for what would hopefully be the last time - my feet were killing me more than they did after Karate practice because Kim had found the shoe aisle - and I knew what was coming next.

The haircut.

Kim all but yanked us into the barbers, and I frowned. I knew I had agreed to this, but I was having second thoughts. I was just hoping I wouldn't flip the barber over as a reflex because he got too close to my neck with scissors.

"Kim?" I asked her hesitantly, pulling on some of my hair as I looked at myself in the large mirror ahead of me. "Do I have to?" I whined.

"Jerry's having one," she turned around, and Jerry was swinging on a pony-shaped seat, riding it like a cowboy. He was so childish at times, but I guessed that was one of the things I loved about him.

"Whooo!" Jerry cheered. He finally settled down as the hairdresser came over to him and put the apron over him. They were chatting jovially, and I was beginning to get jealous. No-one should touch him besides me, man, woman or family member. Alright Jack... I warned myself.

Kim was still looking at me expectantly, nearly leaning on me as she gave me puppy dog eyes. "Alright fine!" I huffed, begrudgingly sitting in the chair. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to escape. Another hairdresser came over to me and draped an apron around my neck.

"What'll you have?" she asked me, turning the tap on and letting the water flow into the large bowl that she'd wash my hair with.

"Just a bit off the ends, thanks," I smiled at her. She nearly sighed in relief as she turned the tap back off.

"You have no idea how glad I am that you said that!" she beamed happily, picking up the scissors. "I've been doing the shampoo, cut and style all day."

Kim rubbed my shoulder encouragingly before she walked off to look at the hair dye samples. I heard Jerry laughing merrily, and it somehow relaxed me. I leaned back into the chair without any fuss, watching in the mirror as the hairdresser set the scissors to my hair...

Moments later, my hair was circled around the chair and the hairdresser wheeled me around, showing me my new haircut from different angles. I was actually quite happy with it; it was slightly shorter, rising a centimeter or two above my shoulders, and she cut my fringe in properly so it didn't resemble curtains as much.

Kim's triumphant and slightly smug-looking face appeared behind me in the mirror. "See?" she poked me gently in the back, "you survived."

"But I lose some of my hair and get nothing, Jerry loses some of his hair and gets a lollipop!" I folded my arms with a grin on my face, well aware I was being childish.

"You're such a baby," Kim rolled her eyes at me.

"Hey! Jerry was the one sat on a pony seat!" I called after her, all that came was her infuriating little, "Mmmm-hmmm."

The Bouncer - actually Mr. Funderburk in black with his turtle for a taser - opened the gym's doors for us with a "Have a nice time kids!" and Milton, Julie, Kim, Jerry and I stepped inside. My jaw nearly dropped open in amazement. The gym looked like it was a forest in Autumn, yellows, greens, reds and browns were everywhere and I couldn't even find anything that gave away that this 'forest' was actually a gym. People were already dancing under the disco ball that was slowly revolving around, reflecting its shimmering lights everywhere.

But the gym wasn't the only thing that looked completely different, we all did; Milton had donned on a suit and gelled his hair back while Julie was on his arm wearing a simple, but beautiful, flowery dress. Jerry and I had worn our new clothes and Kim had sneakily brought our two dark red roses that we had pinned to our collars since Kim made the decision that we should go with the button-up shirt, and we all finally saw the dress Kim had been being so elusive about.

Her dress was a sweep of maple red and fell to her ankles. The top was decorated with rhinestones and she had on a brown belt to compliment the whole color scheme, topping it off with black slip on shoes. She also had her hair up in a loose-looking bun with the strands that fell down into her face being curled and she was wearing brown blusher and eye shadow - how the hell did I know what these things were called?! - with a sparkly lip gloss.

"Holy Christmas Nuts!" Milton looked around in awe, as did the rest of us. "The gym looks great!" he marvelled, and Kim smiled brightly. This was the happiest I had ever seen her, and it felt great to be here with all my friends.

"Wait this is the gym?" Jerry said in shock, his eyes becoming wide and his face gaining a look of horror. I scoffed at him, shaking my head lightly. I was trying hard not to laugh, as it would probably freak him out even more.

"Nice job, Kim!" Julie grinned at her.

I saw someone waltzing their way through the crowd, and I instantly let go of Jerry like he was a burning hot fire poker as I realised it was Rudy. He looked hurt, but I pointed to Rudy making his way over here, and he nodded. "Hey, hey, you all scrub up nice," he sang in appreciation. He didn't do too bad either, although I couldn't help but notice a brown stain on the left arm of his suit, and then I realised he was wearing the one he gave to me for the Swan's Court Cotillion, only he'd taken the cape off.

"Rudy? What are you doing here?" Milton asked.

"They needed an adult chaperone," he replied.

"So what are you doing here?" I grinned, and we burst out laughing.

"Ha, ha, very funny," Rudy said dryly, then he smiled at us. "Have a good time guys," he walked off towards Mrs Applebaum who was over by the DJ. I was hoping she'd change the song, I hated slow songs.

I watched Milton, Julie and Kim as they flittered off into the crowd. "Shall we?" I looked at Jerry and held my hand out to him like someone in an old fashioned movie would do. He smiled at me, but was looking around nervously.

"Everyone's gonna stare," he said quietly. I stood still for a minute, I hadn't thought of that. It was one thing for our friends to know, but for the whole school? I didn't really care what they thought though, it wasn't their lives, it was ours, and what we chose to do was our business. People would probably yell things at us, but if anyone was dumb enough to raise a hand to us tonight, they were going to end up in the food table.

"Dude, your date's a sexy-looking black belt," I said cheekily, making him laugh. "No-one's gonna stare," I reassured him. I'd protect him from anything that'd hurt him - The Black Dragon's for one - and I meant that. I supposed it always felt like second nature, given Kim's temper and the amount of times the Black Dragon's and various other goons had attacked us.

As Jerry looked like he was about to give over and dance with me, the slow-ish song changed and became more upbeat and lively. Everyone cheered - and one person exceptionally loudly - and started to dance. Jerry and I looked over at Milton and Julie who looked uneasy. We all knew what was coming.

"Oh yeah!" Kim yelled excitedly. "This is my jam!" she said smugly, putting her hand behind her head in preparation to dance. Jerry and I quickly turned away from the abomination that was unfolding. If Kim had brought a date we didn't know about, that boy would be running for the hills.

"No-one's gonna be starin' now," Jerry murmured in my ear making me laugh loudly against the music. That was true, and I wasn't anywhere near as bad as I used to be since I started watching a lot more movies with street dancing in them.

"Quick, we don't know her!" Milton motioned to us over the crowd - the majority of who had already flocked to watch Kim although she clearly didn't care - and we broke off in our pairs. Jerry and I stopped near the back of the gym, and something caught my eye, a box boldly labelled "Best Couple, Vote Now!" was rested on the end of the refreshment table. Frank and Brian were over by it, cackling madly and sniggering.

"Who d'you reckon's gonna win that?" Jerry asked me.

"I don't know," I shrugged, "but I might put Frank and Brian in as a joke," I smirked. They were always together - well, nearly always - so it wasn't like it was too big a stretch, and it was just harmless fun. I suspected some people might have put Jerry and I in there as a joke, or various other people. It wasn't like the award actually meant everything.

"Alright Brad," I heard Donna Tobin's voice and she walked up to the refreshment table in all her disgustingly pink and sparkly glory. "This Best Couple thing means everything to me, so you'd better act like you love me," she hissed. Scratch that, I thought.

"Then I get paid upfront," Brad held out a hand to her and wiggled his fingers. She sighed in frustration and dug into her small, sparkly pink clutch bag, pulling out some money and slapping it down into Brad's hand. He grinned and they assumed fake smiles as they walked to the front of the gym again.

"Well fancy that," Milton said from behind us.

We couldn't contain our sighs of relief as the song finally changed from Kim's 'jam' to something less... peppy. Now we could dance without being embarrassed by her. We all loved her, but she was one of the worst dancers around. I still couldn't believe Carson had thought that was good dancing.

Speaking of dancing, the four of us walked over to where the majority of students were dancing, and caught up with Kim, who was dancing semi-decently for a change. Jerry started break dancing and everyone cheered, creating a spotlight for him. I clapped along with them, grinning at him.

This was going to be fun.

Several hours blurred past in music and bright colors. Milton and Julie were off in their own little world, dancing happily with each other with talking about Chemistry and Linear Equations. Frank had kept trying to dance with Kim, surprisingly, she gave in and hadn't murdered him, and Jerry and I were just swaying gently to the slower song, arms around each other's necks. I'd never felt this happy before, and the best part was, hardly anyone had made any comments about us.

Microphone feedback suddenly screeched across the Gym, halting the current song, and I saw Kim gently tapping the microphone with a finger to get our attention. "Okay everyone!" she called as heads turned towards her. "If I could have your attention please," she said. Everyone, including Frank who was trying to put frogs in the lemonade, looked at her attentively.

"Now, instead of a King and Queen like the last dances have had, I organised a 'Best Couple' award, and many of you have voted," she announced, and several people cheered at the mention of the Best Couple award. I frowned slightly, I had been having so much fun with Jerry I had forgotten to put Brian and Frank in. I would have loved to see Kim's face when she had to count that vote.

"Grace? If I could have the results please," Kim called to the crowd, and Grace hobbled precariously onto the stage in her high-heels, holding a clipboard. Kim took it from her and I couldn't miss the sly grin she had on her face. Had she rigged the voting or something? "Thank you," she smiled.

She scanned the clipboard once more, and looked up. "Alright, third place for Best Couple, is Brad Wolfe and Donna Tobin," she said as several cheers were scattered around the room. As Brad and Donna walked past us, I heard Brad yelp in pain as Donna brought one of her stilettos down on his foot and hissed, "I told you not to kiss me while Kim was dancing!" Jerry and I sniggered as we heard Brad say, "I'd have rather watched her dance than kiss you," in a low tone.

"Second place is Milton Krupnick and Julie Gatwick," Kim smiled and noticeably more people cheered. Jerry wolf-whistled in my ear and I winced. Milton and Julie hugged briefly before shyly making their way onto the stage along with Brad and Donna who were still fighting in hushed whispers.

Kim's smile was now a grin that practically split her whole face in half. "And first place winning by a landslide, is Jack Brewer and Jerry Martinez!" she yelled happily. We were both deafened with cheers and hoots, covering our ears until it dawned on us what Kim had just said.

Mother flippin' San Francisco burgers!

"I heard a Jack..." I said in shock.

"I heard a Jerry..." he said.

"Come on up here guys!" Kim urged us over the raucous cheering. I rolled my eyes as Jerry grabbed my hand and started pulling me up to the stage. Kim was cheering with everyone else and I didn't have the heart to glare at her, although I felt like it very quickly after Grace draped two matching 'Winner!' sashes over the both of us.

"And that concludes the Award Ceremony," Kim said once the applause and cheering had died down. "By Presidential Decree..." she trailed off and looked at me expectantly.

"Oh, and Vice Presidential decree," I smiled at everyone watching us.

"I want you all to have a great night!" she threw her hands up in the air and everyone cheered again, only briefly this time, and nowhere near as loud. The thought of that made me blush, and also made me wonder if anyone had suspected anything about Jerry and I before we got together...

Kim nodded over to the DJ, and a song switched on.

I won't soothe your pain

I won't ease your strain

You'll be waiting in vain

I got nothing for you to gain

As the tune reached everyone's ears, everyone paired up. I even spotted Mr. Funderburk holding his turtle to his chest and holding one of his legs like someone's hand. Kim stepped off the stage and began dancing with Brett. Jerry and I were the only one's not dancing.

I'm taking it slow

Feeding my flame

Shuffling the cards of your game

And just in time

In the right place

Suddenly I will play my ace

"You heard the lady," Jerry smiled at me. I smiled back and we wrapped our arms around each other's necks while the song played and the lights dimmed, brightening the shimmer of the disco ball. Everyone else were murmuring softly between them - or in Donna and Brad's case hissing and spitting - but Jerry and I didn't need to say anything, we were comfortable in the silence, just dancing and being ourselves.

I won't soothe your pain

I won't ease your strain

You'll be waiting in vain

I got nothing for you to gain

Jerry chuckled and I couldn't stop smiling as I spun him under my arm. Our arms draped around each other's necks and we stared into each other's eyes. If I had done that any other time, there's a chance both of us would have laughed, but not now, because we both meant it. Every little thing between us meant everything to us... To me.

"I can't believe we actually won something," I muttered absent-mindedly, all of this feeling like a dream. I knew it wasn't from the way Jerry's skin was burning against mine, and how much my smiling was making my face ache. But I didn't want to stop, being with Jerry made me happy.

"Me either." We looked at each other a little while longer, before I found myself getting closer and closer to him. Our lips met in a kiss; it started off slow, but got more passionate. My face flushed hot as I heard people cheering, and I was very glad that the Gym was dark so everyone - namely Jerry - wouldn't see my blush once I pulled away.

When we did, I felt like I was coming down from a drug-high. Everything around me felt light and I felt like I was floating. My heart was thudding dully in my chest and electric bolts of summer lightning were flying through my veins. I saw Kim beaming at us out of the corner of my eye. None of this would have happened without her.

"Thank you," I mouthed to her before resting my forehead against Jerry's.

Eyes on fire

Your spine is ablaze

Felling any foe with my gaze

"Wait!" Rudy screeched over the song. Everyone went quiet, and stopped moving. I broke away from Jerry to look around at him. "Jack and Jerry are dating?!" he asked in shock, his lips curving into a huge grin. "Since when?" he buzzed.

Oh Rudy...

And just in time

In the right place

Steadily emerging with grace

Felling any foe with my gaze

Steadily emerging with grace

Felling any foe with my gaze

Steadily emerging with grace

Okay, so would you guys mind telling me what you thought about this one? I kinda think it sucks, but that's just me. I did like writing it though. :) I especially like writing for Jerry, he's so funny! And I couldn't resist adding Kim's, "This is my jam!" I love it too much. As usual, I hope I kept everyone in character.

See you with the next chapter, and it's a different one-shot, that's all I'm sayin' ;-)
