Chapter 29

At dawn, before it was light, Yuki would get out of bed and walk up to the Mermaid Fountain. There she'd walk into the small trees and bushes where Takeshi had come out a couple weeks ago. Slowly she'd transform into a wolf, first letting out her snot to see if she caught a scent around of another person. There was none, so she went off on full blast. Fully transformed in her wolf state she ran up and down and inhaled the smell of the trees and bushes. Her fur dance against the wind. Then she began to slow down, she was almost there. At the center of this small forest there was a rock. It was nice and big. Yuki walked towards it and laid there. With her claw she marked the stone over something she had written previously. It wrote, ホーム, Japanese for home. That's all she craved for, all she wanted. Over and over again she passed her claw, but as the sun started to shine from the horizon she knew she had to get back. Yuki knew she'd need to go back to that room that just reminded her that she was nowhere close to it. And so she did, she left.

Takeshi also has a routine of his own, every afternoon he'd walked to that same area. Looking for his picture. He couldn't have Yuki, but he could have that picture. And every day he'd fail to find it. They would have Math and Study hall together and Takeshi always glanced at her. He'd think of the things they could talk about and do together, but it was useless. The worst part was that his Dad was coming to visit him this weekend. At least he could run away to his home and keep him away from Yuki. If his father found any trace of her close to him it would be her end.

Once he arrived home he was greeted with that unfortunate luxurious home. Many would be grateful to have it, but Takeshi wasn't. He disliked it so much. He went up his room and locked himself away. Takeshi wanted to relax, maybe think of future that would never happen with Yuki. But he couldn't, all he wanted was that picture and he clearly wouldn't get it. He took a deep breathe and laid on his bed. Soon enough he doze of to bed.

By the time he woke up the sun was already setting. He heard voices coming from the room next door. Takeshi got up and stretched and went outside. Even the hallway was all grand and beautiful. Expensive paintings hung with chandeliers to accompany them. There were even beautifully crafted candles that clearly weren't needed since all the lightbulbs shone bright enough. As he walk through the hallway the voices got clear. It was probably the maids, but something made him curious. They sounded excited, well at least one of them. The other voice was soft and caring, Takeshi almost felt it caress his cheek. He walk up to the door and try to listen to the conversation, but it still sounded muffled. Curiosity got the best of him and he opened the door.

"Oh just try on the dress," Takeshi's mother spoke towards the bathroom door, her voice sounding excited, "I just know how much you'll love it."

The bathroom door opened and out stepped a beautiful young girl. Her hair was down and her make-up was done. She wore a fuchsia colored dress that marked each curve on her body. Takeshi's breathe was taken away for two reason. The beauty of the girl and the girl herself, Yuki.

"Oh my," his Mother exclaimed, "You look..." at that moment Susanna saw Takeshi standing there. Takeshi could already see her getting angry but then her face relaxed. "Takeshi, what kind of gentleman are you? Won't you compliment dear Yuki on how wonderful the dress fits her?"

It took all off Takeshi's strength not to insult his mother, even though he knew it wasn't her fault. "Yes, Susanna, a beautiful young lady. Her sight took my breathe away," He smiled uncomfortably and then rushed out of the room. There was only one person responsible of this. Takeshi swung his door open about to complain.

"Oh Takeshi," his uncle spoke, "you're finally up. I have a little surprise for you."

"Uncle Kay, why did you bring Yuki here," he tried to sound calm, but instead it sounded like a parent questioning his child after doing something wrong.

"Oh so you know," His uncle said taking a sip of his glass. He was most probably drinking whisky. "Well, I guess it won't be a surprise anymore. At least you can finally talk to her and woo her with your sharm." His uncle smiled at Takeshi.

"No, uncle, you don't understand. You HAVE to take her back before my Dad arrives," Takeshi was desperate, the reason he left her in Japan was to protect her. Now with his Dad around he wouldn't be able to do that.

Uncle Kay noticed Takeshi was serious, he put his drink aside and walked up to him. "Why? Don't tell me she's a-"

Takeshi bit his bottom lip and nodded. Uncle Kay knew everything about Takeshi's Dad's "hobby". At time he would mock them about it when Susanna wasn't around. When Takeshi looked up he noticed Uncle Kay's eyes widen.

"It all makes sense now," his uncle stepped away. "I will send her back to school immediately and tell her to come next week."

"This is why I didn't want her here, this is why I came to the UK. I would've never come back, you know how I dislike all the luxury. Now that she's here it will be hard to protect her," Takeshi turned around and was about to leave the room.

"Takeshi," his uncle said, "I'm sorry, I should've listened."

Yuki was in shock to see Takeshi in the room at that moment. Though the dress covered her whole body she felt exposed. Not only that, she was shocked to know that this was his home. It was even larger than the land her family owned back at the fields.

She looked at herself in the mirror and examined how the dress adapted to each curve on her body. It had a nice silky texture and the heels she wore weren't as uncomfortable. It was just a simple dinner, but they all dress in such a fancy way. When she was back home she'd wear shorts and eat in completely messy way. Souhei always sighed at her beastly manners and when Ame joined he would just smile and start telling stories of their childhood. She missed them, it was like a cold shuddered passed through her body as she thought of them.

"Susanna?" Takeshi was back, "Could, you please give us a moment."

Yuki turned around and Takeshi was already in a nice suit. His mother complained about Takeshi' calling her by her first name but still left the room.

"Hey," Yuki spoke as Takeshi closed the door.

"Yuki, I need you to listen to me," Takeshi said not wasting a moment. Yuki caught on to his serious tone, "My father is coming here. You have to go. My father is hunter, like I used to be. He was the one," Takeshi paused for a moment with a pained looked, "that... killed your father."

Yuki stumbled back, images of the room back at Takeshi's house started flowing back. The wolf's skin, the weapon's, the pictures. "Does he know about me?" Yuki asked as her hands began to tremble. She tried to hold them together but the trembling didn't let up.

"No, he didn't know that Ookami had children. That's why you NEED to leave. My father won't catch on to you been a wolf child like I did. It just a skill I have, but I can't explain it. But you still need to leave, it is dangerous with him around." Takeshi opened the door and waited for Yuki, "Come on, my uncle already prepared the car for you to leave." Yuki stepped out of the room in a rush. They both began to hurry down the steps, Takeshi in front of Yuki. When they were almost at the bottom Yuki's heel gave away and she slipped. Takeshi caught her and held her hand, guiding her towards the front door. They took a moment to breath, then Takeshi opened the door.

In front stood a man, he had dark brown hair and japanese features. "Takeshi, so nice of you," he began, "Opening the door for your father."

The man stepped into the room and shook Takeshi's hand, "Father." Takeshi's voice seemed faded.

"Who is this young lady you've got with you," Yuki and Takeshi were still holding hands, Yuki let go immediately and stared at the man. All she could think was that this man had killed her father. This man had taken him away from her, from Ame, from her Mother. The man approached her and gave her a hug, "You smell nice."
