So, as you all know(unless you just came, then you should read from the beginning. It's better this way! :) ) I held a poll on who Maka and Soul should call. I read the comments, and the winner is...
...
...
...
KID!
Congratulations! Even though you are a fictional character, you won!
Kid: I won?!
Me: Yup.
Kid: YES! I will shower them with symmetry and perfection!
Me: ...Is that so? So you're not mad at them?
Kid: Well, this IS just a story...so I really don't care.
Me: Hm...So real life(ish) Kid wouldn't care...but,-You know what? You guys just need to read the story.
Well, Enjoy this chapter!
Maka's POV
I bit my lip. Who should we call? Who wouldn't care?
Finally, I released the breath I'd been holding and answered Soul. "We need to call Kid."
Soul let out a strangled yelping sound that sounded like a mix between a dying cat and a possessed cactus(Soul: Is that even possible? Me: In this story, it is.)
"Are you insane?" Soul grabbed my shoulders and shook me. "Or are you just suicidal?! CALL KID?! You've gotta be joking!" He said annoyance in his voice.
"Ok, who do you suggest-?" I started.
"I say, let's just bust out ourselves!" Soul snapped. I rolled my eyes.
"Before you were all for calling someone!" I said exasperated.
"Well, now I'm not. Especially Kid!" He snarled.
"Okay, fine then." I huffed, then stood up, pushing past Soul. I paced the room, and began to think of a strategy for escape.
Soul sat down where I'd been sitting moments before, and stared blankly into space. He was either thinking about escaping, or something stupid.
Soul's POV
I wonder if I still have that bag of chips under my bed from that party a few months ago...
Maka's POV
Suddenly, Soul leaned over to the other side of the bed, and began digging around for something.
"Yea! They're still here!" He called triumphantly.
I whirled around, and saw him open a bag of chips. His expression turned into one of pure bliss.
"What are you doing?" I demanded. Soul looked up at me, his face covered in chip crumbs.
He smiled sheepishly. "I'm eating. Duh."
I glared at him. "Now's not the time to eat." I snapped. Soul sighed, then slowly and regretfully set down the bag of chips.
"Why couldn't I finish them?" He whined. I rolled my eyes at his childishness.
"We need to decide who to call. Who should we call?" I demanded.
Soul grinned and began to whisper the Ghostbusters theme song. "Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!"
"Shut up. Seriously, Soul. Who should we call?" I said, annoyance dripping into my voice.
He shrugged saying, "I don't know. Let's just...wait to decide okay?"
I huffed in exasperation, then sat cross-legged on the floor of his room.
What should we do? Either way, this is going to turn out bad for us. Anyone would automatically assume that we...
Ugh. Of course they would. Any time a girl and a guy are alone in a room together, it normally means they had sex. So I better choose carefully, especially since Soul doesn't seem to care...
I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye. He was sprawled on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
"Maka, did you know that there's 1,746 tiles on my ceiling?" He asked bored. I didn't answer him.
He sighed, then replied, "I'm going to listen to music." Then, he put a large headset over his ears.
Plugged into the wall next to Soul's dresser, was his phone. If I dived in time...No, I wouldn't be able to overpower him.
Just then, I got a idea.
I crawled as stealthily as I could and made my way over to the closet where a rope was sitting on top of a pair of shoes.
I reached slowly to the rope and tugged it out of the closet. Suddenly, the pair of shoes fell out onto the floor with a loud thud.
Ever so slowly turned my head towards Soul, expecting him to ask what I was doing, but he was was still listening to music.
I breathed a sigh of relief, and grabbing the rope, I crawled over to the end of his bed. I tied one end of the rope to the leg of the bed, and searched around for something round and heavy.
A glint of silver caught my eye, and I glanced under the bed. A silver bowling ball was sitting there, gathering dust. I pulled it out and tied the rope securely around it. I then rolled it across the floor to the other side of the room, where it hit the wall with a gentle thud.
I looked at Soul again. Still listening to music. Good.
Breathing deeply, I stood up. Behind me was his phone...
Soul followed me with his eyes and asked," What are you doing?" I gulped and made a dash for the iPhone.
Soul's POV
My eyes widened in horror as Maka made her way to my phone.
"Wait-! What are you doing?!" I yelled at her. She didn't turn around.
"Fuck." I whispered, and stood up. I took about five steps, then fell flat on my face. I fell directly on my bowling ball, which had magically rolled out from under my bed, and was suddenly underneath me.
I curled up in pain groaning. "Maka..." I whispered. She picked up my phone, and unlocked it. Damn it, I knew I should've put a password on that.
I was going to die if she called Kid.
"Maka, don't do it." I said in a louder voice. She looked at me, put the phone up to her ear, and mouthed 'Sorry'
From the other end of the phone, I heard a masculine voice that was very familiar.
Shit.
"Yea, I'm at Soul's house."
'Why are you-? Nevermind. So you're locked in his bedroom?'
"Yes, I- Yea. So could you come get us out? Please?"
'Um...Sure. Are you sure you, like, didn't-?'
"NO! I didn't- I mean we- Never, alright? Just come get us?"
A small sigh sounded from the phone, then he hung up.
I stood up shakily, with help from my bed frame. "Are you insane?! Or do you just want me to die in a horrible way?!" I snarled at Maka.
She looked afraid for a second, then her expression calmed as she said,"I did what I had to do to get us out of here."
"What the hell is wrong with you?! He's going to kill me, AND you!" I shouted.
Maka glared at me and yelled back, "No he won't! Jesus Soul! Why are you so afraid?!"
I opened my mouth, then closed it biting my lip anxiously.
"Maka...He's going to think that we-"
"No. He won't. He'll understand."
"Maka, there's only so much a guy can put up with-"
"He'll understand." She repeated firmly, then pushed past me none too softly.
I clenched my teeth together, in a effort not to grab Maka and whack her for being stupid. I mean seriously, What the actual fuck?!
"Look, anything that happens with Kid from here on out, it's on you alright?" I said annoyed. Maka nodded stiffly, then sat down cross-legged on my bed. She pointedly looked the other way, and leaned back on the wall.
I made my way back to my bed, and nudged Maka. "Budge over." I mumbled. She scooted over, and continued to look away from me.
I sighed, and sat down next to her, my legs in front of me. My back was resting against the wall, and my right leg was resting against Maka's left thigh-
Wait-what?
"So when's he coming?" I asked.
She shrugged saying,"I've no idea. He's at work, so..." She trailed off and I knew what that meant.
We were probably going to be in here a while.
Maka's POV
I looked at Soul out of my peripheral vision. Why was my heart hammering so loudly?
Soul noticed me. "You need something?" He grumbled.
I shook my head. "No."
Kid's work was 8 hours a day. He started work at 6AM and ended at 3. It was currently 8. We were going to be in here for a while. This was going to be a very interesting day...
Interesting indeed...XD
Sorry for the cliffhanger. I originally intended for Kid to show up in this chapter, but instead his appearance will be NEXT chapter instead.
Kid: This is a weird story...
Me: Eh? Is that so?
Kid: Yea. I'd never date Maka. She's like a sister to me!
Soul: And I'd never like her. She's also like a sister to me.
Lexi: Would you date me Soul? *bats eyelashes*
Me: Move bitch, get out of the way! *shoves Lexi into black hole* you have no place among the people! YOU WILL NEVER BE ONE OF THE PEOPLE!
Soul: *mutters* Avatar? Seriously, Hawk?
Me: Shut your mouth, unless you want me to warp the story entirely and make you a stripper?
Soul: *gulpes* No thanks...
Until next time my little llamas, See ya! Spicy Noodlez out!
