Dean paced around the doorway of the panic room while Cas inspected Sam inside. He knew better than to take him along. He knew it and now look what that bitch did. If she hurt him… If she damaged him in anyway, he'd make her wish that she could be killed. He was going to rip her goddamn face off and jam it down her psycho throat. He was going to-

"Dean" Cas said rolling down his sleeve and striding towards him

"How is he Cas? Give me some good news"

"I don't understand it. It doesn't make any sense"

"What? What is it?" Dean breathed

"Sam's soul is has been almost completely restored"

"What?" He felt his heart miss a beat

"His soul. It's almost completely healed"

"What? That's great!" Dean grabbed Cas by the shoulders, unable to contain his joy

"No, Dean. It's impossible. How did this happen?" Cas frowned

"I told you, the la- uh, Ferrah just put her hands on his head and disappeared. She said she could fix him because of Penny"

"That doesn't make any sense." Cas said walking away

"What's wrong? Isn't this good news Cas? I mean" Dean laughed, "Sam's going to be okay"

"You don't understand" Cas said rounding on him "This creature was able to reverse something that Death himself wasn't able to reverse. No creature should be capable of power of that magnitude"

"Well she has to be, right? I mean Sam's okay, right?"

"Your brother will be fine, Dean" Cas sighed then turned intently on him "I need to know how she did it. Did she say anything about how she did it? Think Dean."

"Uh, she said something about Penny loving him giving her power"

"The power of love?" Cas squinted

"Yeah, something about her soul being pure and open because she was a child" Dean said suddenly remembering what Death had told him that night he had put the wall up in Sam's mind. "It's about the souls. You'll understand when you need to."

"Her soul" Cas murmured as though he had suddenly understood everything

"Am I missing something? How could she use Penny's soul to fix Sam's?"

"She can't. Not directly. She has to be using something to transfer it"

"Okay" Dean blinked "Can you explain to me a little, how this whole thing works?"

"A human soul is very powerful. It emits massive amounts of energy that when manipulated properly, can be channeled and used in different ways. What this creature has done, is taken the excess energy from your child's soul and transferred it to Sam's to make his whole again. It makes sense that a child's soul would have more clean and pure energy than an adult's because they still have their innocence intact but the fact that Penny is still upstairs running around gleefully and not dead, brings me to the conclusion that this 'lady' has found a way to collect energy from Penny's soul and store it somewhere where she could use and reuse it again and again without harming the child."

"How is that possible?"

"It's possible that she could be using something to absorb it, children unlike adults, are a little less contained with their energy. It literally radiates off of them even when experiencing the most basic emotions. Especially fear." Cas explained to himself out loud "I have to find out where she's storing that energy"

And then it hit him "Kitty" Dean said

"No. It's highly unlikely that she would be storing that kind of energy in a small animal"

"No, not a cat" Dean rolled his eyes "Kitty. Penny's stuffed elephant. She said the lady gave it to her and the thing is like indestructible"

"Where is it?"

Cas studied the stuffed pink toy carefully in the study while Penny, Bobby, and Dean watched from the doorway.

"What is he going to do to my Kitty?" Penny asked timidly

"He's just checking him to see if he's okay" Dean reassured

"Is he sick?" Penny gasped

"No, he's not sick. He's just getting a check up."

Cas squeezed the soft plush and jabbed it with his finger before standing up and joining them in the doorway.

"I need to take your toy for further analysis." He said directly to Dean

"No!" Penny shouted up at him

"Yes" He said back

"No!"

"I don't understand. Why is she squealing?" Cas asked flatly

"She probably just wants you to ask nicely Cas" Dean said with a nod of approval

Cas sighed heavily and rolled his eyes but he bent down to talk to Penny at her height "Your elephant holds the key to unlocking a tremendous power that could potentially cause or prevent the mass destruction of the Earth."

Penny gasped in horror.

"Alright, take it easy Nostradamus, and what are you talking about 'mass destruction of the Earth? We're still talking about 'the lady' here right?"

"Of course" Cas said quickly

Dean said to Cas and knelt down to Penny "Cas here just needs to borrow Kitty for a little while. Is that okay?"

"What is he going to do to him?"

"He's just going to look at him. Right Cas?"

"Technically no-"

"Cas" Dean widened his eyes at him urging him to play along

"Oh. Uh, absolutely, I'm just going to look at him" Cas amended

"See baby? Nothing to worry about" Dean smiled

"Okay" She said reluctantly "But don't hurt him Mr. Cas"

"It's physically impossible to-"

"Cas" Dean interrupted. He had almost forgot that the angel had almost no people skills what so ever.

"Right. Thank you" He said and vanished

"I miss Kitty" Penny whimpered

"I know sweetheart, but it's okay to make new friends too. Why don't you go play with some of your new toys?"

She nodded solemnly and walked out of the room.

"That is definitely not the response most kids give when you tell them to go play with new toys" Dean muttered to Bobby after she was out of earshot

"How's Sam?"

"Still out but Cas says he's gonna be fine."

"You know I don't get this one. Usually these things are pretty cut and dry"

"Still is." Dean lowered his voice not willing to take the risk of Ferrah overhearing "Okay, she fixed Sam but you didn't meet her. That chick is psychotic. It's only a matter of time before she gets all Fatal Attraction on me. I swear these angels, one minute they're all hot and sweet, the next they're stalking your kid or travelling back in time to kill your whole family"

"You want my advice, stop dating angels" Bobby straightened his hat "Have you seen the Oreo's? I bought 'em yesterday and I can't find 'em anywhere"
