I know I haven't updated in awhile, so here are two little drabbles to tide you guys over until I can finish the next chapter of All In. It's almost finished, I promise! Hopefully, I can finish writing it tonight, and then edit and post by tomorrow! Real life has been pretty awful lately. Please don't hate me!
These two drabbles were originally posted on my Tumblr, and were both too short for me to post separately. So here you go!
Distraction
John Watson jumped as the door to 221B slammed open. "What on earth were you thinking?!" the voice of his former flat mate practically hissed as he strode through the door.
"Well excuse me for trying to save your arse! They would have seen you if it wasn't for my quick thinking! My distraction probably saved your life!"
Mary Watson was right on Sherlock's heels, the two oblivious to everyone else. Including the petite pathologist who entered a few steps behind them, blushing furiously and biting her lip.
"I hardly think that was the best distraction you could come up with, Mary! You are a retired assassin, for God's sake!"
"Well, it worked, didn't it?! Honestly, you should be thanking me, not yelling at me for kissing her!"
John shot out of his seat at those words. "What?!" he choked out. Mary and Sherlock finally registered his presence. They gulped simultaneously. Molly just gave him a small, apologetic smile.
Sherlock spared Mary one more glare before turning to John. "Your wife decided it was a brilliant idea to kiss Molly as a form of distraction. Ridiculous!"
"It didn't seem so ridiculous to you when the men returned! Guess who planted one on Molly then?! At least I stopped once the men were gone. How long did you snog her? No less than five minutes, I'd wager."
Sherlock's cheeks flushed the tiniest bit pinker. The quiet clearing of a throat drew their attention. "I'm j-just going to g-go," Molly interrupted, clearly embarrassed. "B-bye, Mary. John. Sherlock." Her head dropped as she uttered the detective's name.
"Molly, wait!" Sherlock grabbed her arm before she could leave. "I apologize for my behavior earlier. I got carried away."
"She didn't seem to mind too much," Mary whispered to her husband, but loud enough that the others could hear. Molly's eyes widened as Sherlock glared at Mary over his shoulder.
Wallpaper
"Sherlock, Lestrade just called. He's got a new case, a possible nine."
"Not now, John. I'm busy."
"Wh- Sherlock, are you stroking the wall?"
"Just admiring the wallpaper, John. I've lived in 221B for years, and have managed to overlook it all this time. When you really see it, however, it's beautiful. You can always count on it to be there in the background, a constant, calming presence."
"I believe you might be projecting a bit, Sherlock."
"Think about it, John! While it is not the most dramatic accoutrement in the room, 221B would be incomplete without it! The flat would be drastically different without the subtle beauty and serenity it contributes. It almost reminds me of someoneā¦. Anyway, what were you saying?"
"Lestrade has a case for us. He's waiting in the Bart's morgue with Molly."
"Why didn't you mention anything sooner, John?! Hurry up, we have a case to solve!"
"Wallpaper, my arse."
Obviously, the second was written in response to the Wallpaper Conspiracy, and the first was just a little scene I'd had in my head for awhile now. Please review! You know I love to know your opinions!
