So I know I've been terribly absent. But school got so hectic that I never found the time to write. And when I did it was only a little.
I wanted to get something up today that's why this is so short but very important.
Forgive me. Please.
Kate told Anna about their relationship and how she wants to leave Will. He's meeting her daughter officially today for lunch and he's nervous. If her daughter doesn't approve of him then Kate could possibly think less of him. And if Kate doesn't want to see him anymore he doesn't know what he'll do with himself. He's needed her since the moment he spilled his coffee on her and she told him her life story. The best that he can hope for is that Anna isn't too mad and can accept him.
He's standing in front of his mirror trying to decide what's appropriate to wear for a lunch date with his girlfriends daughter. No pressure. At least Kate is going to be there. Does that make it better? It's supposed to right? It's supposed to take all his nervousness away. But for some reason only adds to it. Even though Anna looks like her father he knows she's got some Kate in her, whatever the amount, he knows she's going to fight him. Whether she admits to it or not. He just hopes that he can break through Anna's walls the same way he did Kate.
Children are stubborn though.

"Promise me you'll be on your best behavior," Kate instructed Anna while sitting down at the table the waitress guided them to.
"This is as good as it gets mom," she said folding her arms and leaning back in her chair. "Just because I understand why you're cheating and want a divorce doesn't mean I have to like the idea of meeting your boyfriend."
"I really want you to sweetie. I think if you met him you'd understand why. A little better hopefully."
"Mmm."
If Anna doesn't approve of Rick then Kate doesn't think she'll ever earn her daughters forgiveness. Anna's old enough to understand but that doesn't mean she isn't a child. And like any child she'll rebel against her. Anna will leave for college and never look back and she can't lose her kids. She's already losing her husband and best friend for over a decade. She just can't lose her children.
She was just about to speak again when Rick walked up to their table.
She doesn't ever think Anna has laughed so much in her life. Her and Rick hit it off instantly. He just kept hitting her with joke after joke. Even when the conversation turned serious he made it comfortable for both of them. She didn't think it was possible to love him more than she already does.
Rick dropped them off back at their apartment about ten minutes ago with a promise to get together again for them soon.
Anna sat on the couch, playing on her phone while Kate played her messages aloud on the answering machine.
"Where's Martin? I should let him know what's going on with your father and I before he hears about it elsewhere."
Anna's face looked she'll shocked.
"Kate the book is amazing," Jack yelled in the background through the machine.
"You wanted to be the one to tell him?" Anna asked.
"Yes. Why?"
"I told him."
"We wanna go quickly with the publishing process..." Jack continued.
"What!"
"I'm sorry. I thought he knew."
"Where is he? How long ago did you tell him?"
"Yesterday. And the last time I heard from him was yesterday."
"How did he react? Martin had to be handled delicately."
"One note about the book though..."
"He was mad. But that's to be expected."
Jacks message ended.
"Find out where he is. Now."
"WILL! When are you gonna come back to fuck me? I miss your big-"
"OH MY GOD!" Kate yelled.
"What the hell Anna whispered.
"I knew it that son of a bitch! Oh Anna I'm sorry. I'm just-"
"It's okay I get it. Who was that?"
"Charlie," she spoke through gritted teeth.
Charlie's first message ended.
"Willy. Remember how it felt when you were inside my-"
Kate unplugged the answering machine.
That's it.
"Richard. Richard! You need to get home ASAP!" His mother yelled through the phone.
"Why? What's wrong?"
"It's Meredith. She's in the hospital."
