As the young tabby slept upstairs, the other members of the SWAT Kats family began to theorize on leads for the previous Reaper. Jake stared at the ceiling, being the one that had to approve and disprove all the longshot guesses, he was getting a bit tired of the farfetched answers.

"It has to be Dark Crud." Chance replied for the millionth time. "It would explain how he always manages to escape and be one step ahead of us all the time."

The cinnamon tom sighed and held his head.

"It can't be him, since he wants to take over Megakat City all the time, wouldn't he have snuck around and killed us already?" Jake had already explained that with the gift of never being seen by living eyes, the villain could easily sneak onto the Turbo Kat and kill them with no problems.

"What about Mac and or Molly?" Roy added, fully sprawled out on the floor out of boredom.

"..." Everyone was staring at the fox, his guess was no better than Chance's.

"Both are just personalities programmed into machines, they aren't living technically." Though they weren't dead either, just scrap metal with bad attitudes and big guns.

"It can't be Viper, for a Reaper of lives he sure does like making new life in the form of those Plantanimals." Baldo shot down his own guess to save Jake the energy and time. It was then that the Micheal walked in to find them all in deep thought.

"Hey what's wrong?" Immediately, the lynx walked up to the fox and looked down at his eyes, the honey gold sparkled as it looked deep into the hazel.

"Cody is a Grim Reaper and he's asleep upstairs, in order to actually bring him back, we have to find the Reaper before him, so we're guessing on villains, but so far nothin'..." It took a moment for Micheal to register all the info, then another for him to believe it.

"There was a time I would've called you all crazy and just walk home and watch a Basketball game, but after all we've been through, I believe it."

"Would I lie to you?" Roy asked, getting more stares and a simultaneous answer.

"YES!" The fox deadpanned and held his chest.

"Ow... That actually hurt to hear how much you guys trust me..." Tears welled up in his eyes.

"You're lying again."

"Yup!" He smiled, forgetting all that happened. Jake shrugged off the antics and began to think again.

"Maybe the Past Master?" The lynx glared at the tom, Jake feeling nervous, he didn't know what he said wrong.

"I know his past, there's nothing about becoming a Reaper, and he's actually a nice guy." The group groaned at their headaches and agreed to save the investigation for another time, to relax their minds, they began to watch the news.

"Today we have confirmed the love affair that Mayor Manx was in fact, having sex with an intern, we'll have more of this at Eleven." The older tabby and fox chuckled, recalling that small bet they made about Manx's lover.

"Still think it's a guy, Chance?" Roy asked, peering over his shoulder to look at his guardian.

"Yup, still want to hold onto the bet?" The fox nodded. "If I remember right, you said the lover was young and Cody said cute and small."

"Right, now we wait an hour to confirm it." Roy and Cody intently watched the news incase they gave away more info before their planned time. Jake sighed at the stupidity of the two. making a bet about it seemed childish, but he had seen it coming since the older tabby did still watch cartoons.

The rest of the hour had gone by quicker than they expected. Though it was a bit troublesome seeing as Jake was cockblocking everyone from any form of Public Display of Affection. Though they couldn't blame him, being in a room while everyone else is making out is awkward. Though he was saved the moment the younger tabby came down from his nap.

"Hey guys, what I missed?" He rubbed his eyes just in time to miss his father and friend with benefits break apart from a kiss.

"Uh um, nothing, just finding out who Manx is fucking..." Chance tried to cover up the tracks, despite having smoking pistols by cursing.

"Cool, is that bet still on?"

"Yeah, now shush, Kat's Eye News is about to reveal it!" The fox yelled, jumping up to his feet and staring intently at the TV for suspense.

"Who is the person Manx has been seeing, the intern's that is the age of 19."

"Hah!" Roy yelled, looking at Chance with a smug smile, but the older tabby stayed stoic.

"Wait for it..."

"His name is Dalton Smith, and here is a picture for said intern." The picture that showed up on the screen was that of a young looking human with short brown hair that still hung a bit over his forehead, light green eyes added with the young round face.

"... So we were all right? Cause I don't know about you guys, but he does look cute..." Cody asked amidst the silence.

"Hooray, the bet was pointless from the start." Jake inputted, feeling a bit joy from being right about the bet.

A figure stared at the Salvage Yard, his grin cracking wider as he looked at the familiar successor to his old occupation. The old Reaper made his way to garage and disregarded the family still enjoying television together. The group never saw him, even as he passed their line of sight. After taking a look at Cody, he let out a dark chuckle.

"Looks exactly like me in my younger years..." He licked his fangs as he made his way upstairs and into Cody's bedroom. He felt his blood boil at the sight of the Scythe. "Hello old friend."

The figure approached the weapon, only to have the creature attach to it bite his leg. No pain was shown on his face, only annoyance.

"Hello again, GowGow. How would you like freedom?" He stomped his free leg onto the chain, breaking it and the bond between the creature and the scythe. The creature freed the man from the bite and looked at the severed chain, feeling confused about the action.

"Tell the new Reaper that his part is done, I'm taking back my job." With that said, the figure opened the window and leaped out, only to fade away later. GowGow felt without purpose being away from the scythe. The only thing it could comprehend at the moment was to whimper.

From downstairs the monster's cries could be heard.

"Since when did you guys get a puppy?" Micheal asked, the young tabby's eyes widened as he realized what the cries were from.

"It's GowGow. I'll go check on him." Cody rose from his chair and made his way to the small creature.

"Gow Gow...?"

"We'll explain later." Jake replied, looking at the staircase to see the blonde tail slowly sway he walked up the steps.

In his room, the tabby was immediately met with the small creature, having it cuddle up to him and whimpering.

"It's ok GowGow, now what happened...?" His green eyes nearly lost all it's shine seeing the broken chain and the weapon nowhere in sight. "Holy shit..."

I am so sorry for my lateness and the shortness of the chapter. I had to fix a lawn mower, visit family by force, and all while dealing with the heat... I fucking hate heat! I love winter better! Anyways, hope you enjoyed the little humor turn sour chapter.
