Cynthia
We stood outside of the Silhouette Club freezin our asses off. "Nicki for God's sake, cant we go wait inside like normal people?" I question trying to rub some warmth into my arms. Nick is lookin off into the parkin lot in a heavy wool coat. "No I told Frankie we would wait outside"
I smack his arm lightly. "Then offer me your coat, or put an arm around me or somethin, I'm fn cold!" I demand.
"But you hate wool." He reminds. "You said it made you itchy."
"You think I care at this point?" I snap. "its like minus 60 out here!"
"Here comes Frankie now."
And sure enough the big cheese himself is walkin up in a camel coat cigarette burning between his lips. "Heya Nicki, Cynthia." He greets. "Sorry I'm late Francine had some trouble gettin to sleep."
I grin. "We got two at home we understand." He hugs me and Nicki and then tucked his hands inside his pockets. "How was San Fran?"
"Pretty good." Nicki says. "Took pictures, saw some landmarks. Got some shopping done."
Frankie glances over his shoulder and glimpses the new Mr. and Mrs. coming up the rear. Frankie claps and rubs his hands together. "Good, Bobby made it. He just got done talking with Crewe about a Season's Greetings Christmas album."
Frankie leaves us and Nicki and I exchanged a glance. His eyes looked at me as if to say. "why am I always the last to know."
I rubbed his back trying to assure him.
Everything was going to be ok…
