Black Butler
Chapter Twenty Nine : Exiled In The Name Of Love
"Umm…" stretching herself the minute Sakura managed to pry her eyes open.
Morning, she identified the day and the sun was bright like a shimmering jewel of the sky, in fact it was too bright.
"Twelve?!" she jumped by the time of the day.
She overslept!
"Why didn't anyone wake me up?!" peeled herself off bed, she grumbled angrily. "They are so going to get it! And why didn't HE wake me, useless butler!" hastily she rummaged her closet for her school uniform.
KNOCK KNOCK.
Sakura heard the door, subsequently identified the person who was at wait for her reply. It is HIM. She gasped when she unconsciously held her breath by HIS presence, she didn't expect that HE will be the first to greet during the start of the day.
"Princess?" KNOCK KNOCK. "Princess?" were HIS worried calls due to her prolonged silence.
"H-Hurry up and get in here!" her shuddering start.
Without moments to spare, the door opened in to reveal the person of her expectations. The everyday black suit and tie, polished shoes and that stunning pair of gloves that Sakura began to like so much.
Oops!
'W-Why would I like them?!' she denied, quickly she turned away to avoid meeting his direct gazes that would stone her nervous. "Hurry up and have my hair done!" putting up a bossy attitude, she stealth to the dresser and sat waiting.
"Yes, princess."
As ordered, Sasuke made his way closer to the demanding pink haired princess. He noticed her being embarrassed whereby she stingily peeked at him through the reflection of the mirror.
"W-Wait! What are you doing?!" she suddenly shrieked, staring at him with widened eyes and he noticed her intensive blushing.
"I am going to make your hair as you wished, princess. Was I wrong?" perplexed Sasuke could not think of any reason why his princess was overreacting. Moreover, her nervousness makes him want to smile at her.
"Yes! Why did you remove your gloves?! And where do you think you're touching?!" Sakura held the back of her neck, a sensitive spot. Sasuke smiled at heart on what he discovered and that her nervousness has augmented her sensitivity.
"I beg your pardon, your Highness," a hand crossed his chest, apologizing. "I shall wear them on then," making attempts on dressing his hand once more.
"W-Wait…!"
Man, her nervousness is getting into her head.
"Yes, princess?"
Sasuke is patient and the sight that this princess is in an unruly state of mind makes it so much more interesting. He wished to see more and that she became silent with her emeralds uneasyh
"And may I ask, princess why are you in your uniform?" her head perked at his 'stupid' question.
"What else should I wear to school then? I may be a princess but there are still school rules to abide." Sasuke smiled at her. "What?" she retort angrily.
"Forgive me, your Highness but may I so humbly remind that today is a weekend?" in an instant he observed her red flushes intensify around her face due to embarrassment especially when he was before her.
"Ah man…!" she mumbled, she had almost forgotten about the ballroom event last night and that also leads to her and him…together…Sakura frantically gasped when she recalled their close conversation. Moreover, she kissed him on the head and the chocolates… "Ah maaaaannn…!"
Her face was redder than any shade of red there is. Sasuke could see her set herself on fire due to her constant blushing. She is cute, he thinks.
"Princess." He called short earning her attention. "I would like to thank you for the chocolates last night. They were simply divine."
Why must he purposefully mention something she tried to avoid conversing on?
Sakura didn't speak a word, hoping that it would slide past so does this chokingly thick atmosphere. But she is underestimating this cunning butler it seems.
"And…" the raven butler stepped up to her front, lowered himself to an inferior level than her sitting. He shot his obsidians at her in search for an affirmative answer to his next phrase. "If I may so boldly and humbly ask about us…"
As expected, he would not let it slide.
This is so confusing.
First this man was the puppet master of her abduction scheme and her offer for a fake act, then he was the root of her hatred in the incident of her 'parents' and now he was the culprit of her growing affection for him.
This butler has filled her life for these months that passed so swiftly with so many unforeseen events that she hardly expect to cross. He is the start of all emotions in her life could bear.
From being her plain, emotionless, revengeful butler, he turned out wanting to be her lover. How absurd is this?
Have anyone ever heard a love tale between Princess and Butler?
He want it…
So does she….
Let it be the first in the Royal history, let it be the first for the world, he and she want to tell this first tale of a blossoming romance between royal and servant.
"What do you think…?" Sakura managed to utter whisperingly. He heard her clear, smiling,
"I wished to serve you not only as your butler but also…" Sasuke paused, why did he ever do that?
"Also…?" she questioned him and while he slowly drown into her mesmerizing greens. He hardly realized that she held the tip of his middle finger, removed his glove.
"Even if I cannot be someone who could exchange vows with you before the altar, I want to be the person who could be by your side until the last breath you take." Sasuke whispered audibly to his princess, then inched his naked hand to touch the hand of hers that held his glove she bravely removed from him.
"Can you keep me as your lover…Sakura?"
How demanding and brazen for a servant like him! He wanted to take this chance to ask, bet his luck and hope for the best of her answer.
"Keep you?" she chuckled behind her glossy pink lips. "Don't you want to be one?" she tucked away one of his stray bang.
Her acceptance! Finally.
Although it was unexpectedly surprising that she would be this quick to unravel his doubts about their relationship.
Happy?
Sasuke is being more than that; he felt the lightweight in his heart. This feeling is simply pleasing though rare to come by.
Really, how long has it been when he felt this happy…?
"May I…kiss you…Sakura?"
No doubt that he is aware of his own greed, to take advantage of the princess' kindness when she already showed him affection that was considered enough yet he wanted more. Sakura only blinked reactionless and stared into his onyxes with a permitting air, so he assumed she is.
Gently his other hand crept up to caress her cheek, a thumb that stroked the surface of her porcelain skin before moving to the end of her lip; something he wished to claim.
Was it too impudent of him to act this way?
Like he could help it when love is in control neither he sees Sakura is uncomfortable.
Without her rejection Sasuke decided to behave according to his impertinence, cast the butler in him aside, erase the fact that she is royalty and let it be for just a moment that the both of them were people of status-less individuals falling in love.
Every inch he made closer to her was a newer experience, he could hear his heart in his ears and that it raced at breakneck speed. Impressively, Sakura was reactionless and expressionless, only lowering her eyes in wait for him. A princess indeed she is and he believe that she will be a great Queen, to think he had been underestimating her all this while.
KNOCK KNOCK.
Argh, darn it! Who would that be at a time like this?!
Startled, Sakura made the first attempt to break apart from Sasuke then quickly adjusts herself.
"Oh, here," shyly returning the glove that she removed from the butler.
"No, I will claim it some other time," Sasuke graced his lips with a smile.
KNOCK KNOCK!
"Tamane! I am coming in now!" the impatient princess opened the door without seconds to wait longer. "Why didn't you answer, Tamane? I was—oops, I didn't know you two were 'busy'. My bad, I guess I'll come another time?"
"No! Why must we be 'busy'?!" Sakura shot up from her seat, blushing obviously. Toruhiko giggled.
"And you were so dazed that you thought it was a school day?" teasing, the other princess laughed.
"T-Toru!"
"My bad," Toruhiko stuck out a playful tongue.
"Never mind. Is there anything you need from me, Toru?"
"Yeah! Since it's a weekend, I was wondering if we continue our little tour around. You promise to show me the rest, remember?" which Sakura had totally forgotten about it when she 'managed' to leave it hanging. Seemingly Toruhiko is someone who sticks to 'a promise is a promise' policy.
"Right…" How troublesome. "Could you give me some time to change then?"
"Okay! Be quick," exclaiming excitedly, Toruhiko excused herself taking the jolly atmosphere with her to leave the both in silence.
"Man, she doesn't quit too easily…" Sakura's shoulders slumped along with her sigh before plastering a new smile. "She's noisy but fun. Don't you think?"
Hoping to get an agreement from the butler who stood behind her, sadly, Sasuke was exceptionally comment-less only adhering to his silence while he stared at the door which Toruhiko exited earlier.
"What's the matter?" Sakura curiously asked.
"Sakura," he called at last, etching a new frown on his face before glancing over to her. "I have no means severe any good intentions of Princess Toruhiko but still please bear in mind that she is one of Madara's."
Sasuke is direct and blunt at the same time.
His facial expression features that he had placed the least trust in the other princess and he might have no means to too despite that she did played the fair role in weaving the threads between his and Sakura's relationship.
"I know…" Sakura nodded half-heartedly. "You may think I am naïve but I could sense that Toru and I do have similar minds."
This is what Sasuke is afraid of from the beginning of Toruhiko's arrival. The main motive of her coming; was it to shake things up through influence by entering the 'enemy's' territory?
Was Madara's first move was to tackle Sakura by means of using the other princess?
Sasuke had no means to be careless now that danger is surfacing within the once safe grounds. He had to keep a close eye on Toruhiko and especially Sakura who is showing symptoms of being swayed.
"Sasuke…" the call of his name from the lips of the pink haired female he so loved stun his mind blank momentarily.
"Yes?" he wanted to listen to her.
"I have an intuition…" Sasuke continued to listen while emeralds were at his audience. "That Toruhiko is trusted…"
Oh so no! She finally said it and it is becoming of a new level of worry to the butler who wished to avoid them.
"Why is that?" he politely questioned, composed. "What makes you think that your intuition is reliable?"
He will not allow some baseless perception to turn tables over in favour of the enemy just because she is Sakura, someone he will listen to, someone he want to trust without reason.
And even when he somehow agreed in respect of Toruhiko's trust, he chose to keep his opinion to himself.
"I don't know either…" as Sasuke anticipated it, her confident-less expression. He shortened the distance between them then boldly held the pinkette's small shoulders, startling her.
"I do not know what intuition that may be, I would refrain questioning. Not to mean that I would believe it but I want to trust you, Sakura," lastly smiling. Uchiha Sasuke is composed of complexity like how he expressed himself Sakura concluded.
Sakura smiled.
"But." She heard his stern vocals as ebony brows deepened a frown. "Promise me you will be careful, you will think twice more before you act for I may not be by your side to protect you at times."
She nodded in obedience. Will she?
"And." He paused with hesitation to the topic he wished to indulge. "About your jewel…"
It surprises him when he sees no reaction posing from the female inferior to his height as though she had anticipated his knowledge about this that she has the gem in possession and did not speak of it since the murder of her parents.
"Madara is after it with Toruhiko as his chest piece." Considering her permitting silence, he pursued further into the matter. "No matter what happens, never surrender the jewel. You must get to the throne, Sakura. Not for my selfish desires but for your own safety. It is sovereign proof of the next in line and with it, your words are near Queen. Not even Madara can do anything, remember that."
Sakura nodded.
"And you must promise me too."
"What is it?"
"You will never leave my side. You will live for me. You won't die when I tell you not to. You will protect me as my butler and my lover…" those were sweet, sweet orders.
How long have he been waiting for.
"Absolutely."
"Oh wow, that was fun!" Toruhiko said in a singsong voice as she happily danced on the spot upon reaching the wide open courtyard.
"Geez, where did she get all that energy…?" muttering to herself, Sakura had to 'save' herself from exhaustion after going on a tour for hours. The Summer palace is larger than she imagine it would be. However, the happy princess didn't seem to be affected.
"That was great don't you think?" Toruhiko joined Sakura on the garden swing.
"Yeah…but I am beat…" massaging her sore feet. "Aren't you tired? We've been walking for hours before we realize it."
"Nope!" Toruhiko cheerfully exclaimed. "This is nothing compared to the Royal palace, it's twice the size. I am used to the distance."
What?! Twice the size?!
"Must Royalty live in such grandeur? I mean look at this place, it can fit plenty of homes for the people!" Sakura angrily rose from her comfortable position. "I bet you can't even imagine how the people lived in the lower community."
Least did she expect for the identical princess to giggle. Sakura wished to snap at the selfishness that rings mockingly not when Toruhiko spewed unexpectedly,
"I was right. You are a better person suited to be the next Queen…" then stared at the bottom of her feet in self-disappointment. "There are so many people looking up to you, you have so many friends whereas I…I have nothing."
Aha! There goes Princess Toruhiko in live action! Trying to gain pity from the audience with self-pity skill?
Save it sister, same trick won't work twice as effective…will it?
Maybe not.
"Don't say that, you've got me, no?" Sakura crouched over to console the depressed princess who smiled.
From Toruhiko's superior angle, Sakura could never be more mesmerized in the identicalness that was portrayed before her. Although, Sasuke had been prudently remindful against the danger of Toruhiko, she could not fully comprehend that her 'twin' is of it. She wished Toruhiko wasn't of Madara's and she wished to believe that all of Toruhiko is for real.
It remained an unexplainable theory that she can actually feel for Toruhiko and understand her wordless thoughts as if there is a mystical connection between them. She had to admit that she is being pulled in by Toruhiko, the desire to have a connection with someone alike is pleasantly.
"Thanks Tamane," and whenever Toruhiko calls her 'sister', Sakura wished it was real. "I think I get why Sasuke likes you. You're people material."
Sakura blushed at the statement when her butler's name was included.
"That is why I decided, I also want to protect as many as I can!" the gentle voice of Toruhiko adopted a tone of sheer determination. Sakura watched her cautious actions ensuring that they were alone. "Tamane, this may sound absurd but it's the truth."
"What?"
"Sasuke will die…"
"…" Sakura held her tongue, not at a state of being shocked maybe she had been anticipating this after Sasuke had mentioned about this matter in relevance of Madara's intentions.
"Mada-chan…Madara is going to get rid of him for good. He hates Sasuke! If…If I had my jewel, I can become Queen. I can stop him, I can save someone but mine's…" Toruhiko formed fists. "The only hope is you Tamane. If you have your jewel, your words will be absolute. That way you can stop Madara and save Sasuke!"
With Toruhiko's begging speeches, Sakura began tense to such an unexpected conversational encounter that she could listen to the rising of her own heartbeat. The unconscious thought that she has what Toruhiko significantly mentioned is in her possession; her jewel of sovereign proof with it words are beyond command.
All the reason that Madara is desperately want to possess it and for his princess; Toruhiko. Now that it has come to this,
Doubt resurfaced upon Toruhiko…
Meanwhile…
Clean. Clean. Clean. SPARKLE!
There is nothing more beautiful than a polished vase, so clean that Sasuke could see his own reflection in it. And there is nothing more beautiful when he recalls the missing glove that was in safekeeping of a certain princess.
Ah…this morning was pleasantly.
"Right, I think it's time to fit in some flowers," a handsome smile graced his lips. "Considering that this vase is situated at the corridor where SHE passes by frequently…I wonder what flowers does SHE like?" just by the thought of it makes his heart flutter.
"This is unexpected, butler," a dark tone from the back spoke with a snicker, someone that Sasuke need not think it was familiar. "Big things are happening yet you had the time to clean vases and arrange flowers?"
"As a butler, I have duties to perform to my utmost standards even when the sky above is going to fall," sarcastically. "Any tasty information about Toruhiko as I asked for, Hyuuga?"
And as Sasuke decide to peel himself of his duty to face the man behind, he was caught by Neji's surprise of a new scar on his face.
"What happened?" the raven male darkened his tone in sense of the ill.
"You would not have guessed how silly I turned out to be." Neji chuckled to himself. "For a top notch Agent like me to fail in getting a tiny bite of information and also got the whole Agency under arrest."
"This is no time for jokes, Hyuuga," Sasuke frowned, denying the fact he knew Neji would not fabricate situations like this.
"The hell I would…" Neji's smirk grew insane. "Uchiha." He paused. "Madara has already lost his patience and now he is around the area. His next move will be very soon, he will first come for me. I'll try to prolong him so that you can escape with Sakura. Keep her safe."
"Don't order me, Hyuuga. I know what to do and Sakura will kill me if I leave you behind."
"Thanks but no thanks. You will have to join Naruto and Hinata into hiding until the reinforcements arrive." So that explains the duo's missing for the past few days he noticed earlier.
"How heroic of you for a dying man, Hyuuga. I didn't expect a turnaround this quick so early of the day." He knew this isn't the time to be joking around, it can't be helped.
"Madara is all out for your head too, Uchiha Sasuke. I don't need details for that, I just want Sakura to get to the throne even if it costs my life. She is our only hope to stop that vile beast!" the Hyuuga male patted the butler's shoulder. "And another thing. Never believe in the other fake princess, keep Sakura away from her."
"You don't have to tell me that either."
RUN! RUN! RUN!
"Sasuke-san! Sasuke-san!" a running maid rushed towards the conversing males. "Terrible news, Sasuke-san!"
"What is the matter?" composed, Sasuke listened to the maid pant.
"The Minister is here!" said the maid. Sasuke frowned, directing his gaze towards Neji who returned it. "And there were a large number of armed men with him!"
So it's showdown. Didn't to expect it to be this instantaneous.
"Find Princess Tamahiko this minute!" Sasuke sternly ordered.
"No!" Neji stepped in. "You find her Uchiha. Take her. I'll stall him as long as I could."
"I had enough listening to you ordering me for one day, Hyuuga," Sasuke retorted.
"This isn't an order Uchiha it's a request!" the long haired male raised his voice. "Don't let Sakura die! Now go!"
"Ch! I hate it when you order me, Hyuuga. The next time I'll get back at you!" It could not be help either, fighting back at Neji would only waste time, Sasuke rushed off.
"I hope there will be one…" Neji smiled.
It's show time!
Returning where the princesses were…
"Please believe me, Tamane. I speak nothing but the truth!" Toruhiko turned begging when she sees that Sakura retained a definite answer only but to look away.
'What should I do? What should I say?' confusion hailed over the princess. 'Is she trying to confirm that the jewel is in my possession?'
"Tamane?" Toruhiko frantically piqued when she notices Sakura backs away from her and that she tries to reach out to the female who distant herself. "Ah!" slipping and falling over onto the ground.
"Are you okay? Were you hurt?!" Sakura quickly tended.
"My ankle hurts…" Toruhiko childishly whined.
"Come let me see," carefully lifting the 'hurt' foot, Sakura eventually discovered the unexpected. "?!" Surprised she was to encounter something familiar and something 'hers'.
A mark of an identical flower imbedded on the sole of Toruhiko's foot.
A birthmark?
Sakura's mark.
It couldn't be…!
It can't be…!
For real?!
Toruhiko is real?
A princess?
Sakura's twin? Her sister…
'Impossible…Impossible! Is it true?!' astonished Sakura was yet somehow she felt relieved. Reaching out to touch the mark before.
"Ahaha! That tickles Tamane!" Toruhiko laughed due to the slight touch.
"Toru…what is this?" Sakura directly asked.
"Hm? You mean this? It's my birthmark, ugly isn't it?" Toruhiko checked it. "But according to the baa-chan, the late midwife of the Royal House, she said that the both of us have the same birthmark when we were born. It's proof of our sisterhood!" she said happily.
Sakura frowned.
This can't be…Toruhiko is…
"Ne, Tamane. You should have yours right? I want to see it!" Toruhiko exclaimed excitedly.
"S…sis…ter…"
Sakura uttered inaudibly, tears started to well in her eyes as she constantly stared at her twin. It was a rare feeling that she would shed tears this moment, an overwhelming feeling of had swept her by. It was warmth of having someone who is actually related by blood.
She had finally found a reason to believe in Torhiko…
"Ehh! Why are you crying Tamane?!" panicking.
"Sister…" Toruhiko stared with widen eyes when Sakura said it.
"SAKURA!" Sasuke's sudden call broke the atmosphere.
"Sasuke…?" she attentively watched the male ran up to her direction.
"Madara is here..." he whisperingly informed.
"Mada-chan is here?" Toruhiko exclaimed surprisingly and did her presence startle the butler.
Quickly Sasuke grabbed Sakura by her wrist bringing her behind him, protecting her away from Toruhiko. He dangerously threw his glare at her.
"We have to leave this place, Sakura," he attempted to take the princess with him not when Toruhiko tried preventing.
"Where are you going, Tamane?" this is nuisance. He will have to deal with her quick in order to secure their escape before Madara finds out. Silently he approached the other princess with a dark attitude.
"Forgive my rudeness, Princess Toruhiko but I am afraid you'll have to sleep a while." Sasuke raised his hand aiming for the back of Toruhiko's neck not when Sakura had to step in to stop him.
"What do you think you're doing, Sasuke?!" acting as a shield.
"Stay away from her Sakura. Have you forgotten who she is?" he withheld his voice from yelling at her stubbornness at crucial moments like this.
"I do but you've got to listen to me, Sasuke. Toruhiko isn't someone who you think she is!" the butler refused to listen as he threw Sakura his glare neither did she flinch or move an inch.
"This is not the time to discuss such trifle matters. We have to leave this instant!" Sasuke is losing his temper. Time is running short and he knew it was too late when he heard the sound of endless stomping approaching this way.
"FREEZE UCHIHA SASUKE!" Crap, now there is no chance of escape.
Madara's men had raided the place in arms. They directed their weapons at the standing butler as soon as they found him. But that wasn't just as annoying when a certain man joined the commotion.
"My, my, my. What have we here? Such impudent actions against the princess, as expected for an imposter like you, Sasuke." Madara.
Sasuke lowered his eyes in detest to the enemy that has finally attacked. Curses Madara!
"Arrest him," men charged against the powerless butler by the snap of Madara's fingers.
"Sasuke!" Sakura helplessly witnessed the raven haired male forcefully got himself pinned down and when he struggled men threatened pointy guns on his head.
This is terrible, watching Sasuke had his hands tied behind him causes her heart to ache. It pains her when she sees the butler she cares for being severed like that and that Madara's men started to hurt him.
'Stop it…' Sakura felt her tears were on the verge of spilling. 'Stop it! You're hurting him!' she wanted to cry.
She wanted to cry for her uselessness as she recalled the time when Sasuke threw his life without hesitation to save her and pledged that he will give his life for her.
He is willing to sacrifice for her says his promise and she began to feel that they weren't empty words like she used to think because she is finally in love with him. When one is in love, sacrificing for a loved one is no option. It just happens…
Sakura could not think of anything else except to find a way to save Sasuke knowing that Madara is here to claim him, just like Toruhiko said and she is desperately down to one 'that' one option…
"Uchiha Sasuke, you are placed under arrest under Royal statute for your crime in attempt of treason. You will be executed for actions!" Madara said smirking. "Take him away, men!"
"What is the meaning of this, Madara?! What treason?! Unhand him this instant!" Sakura bravely stood up against the man she sees as her greatest enemy. 'This time, I'll protect you, Sasuke!' she fearlessly frowned.
"Forgive me, your Highness. I meant no disrespect, I simply cannot allow danger to lurk as they please," in a bowing gesture, Madara spoke. His acting skills are beyond professional. "I will not rest until I eradicate 'pests' that plots nefarious schemes against your Highnesses."
"Impudence, Madara!" Sakura raised her voice, her authoritative manner did cause an unexpected tremor to everyone at present. However, Madara could only see her as interesting. "You dare disobey me. Uchiha Sasuke is my butler and I say unhand him immediately!"
The atmosphere is at tense, with Madara standing motionlessly while Sakura courageously threw herself into battle against him. Not even Toruhiko was calm enough to speak.
"Minister…" one of those men confronted in the state of confusion. And to think that Sakura could pull a quick one taking advantage of her title as princess.
"I am terribly sorry, princess. As Minister, I have the duty to perform in best interest as a whole for the country. Even if you are Royalty I have no means to obey if your words composed of biasness towards this man," referring to Sasuke.
Madara…he had more power than she expected him to have. Sakura realized that she had underestimated his greater influence in the Royal House compared to her.
"Now will you excuse me, your Highness," taking his leave along with his men and Sasuke.
Sakura gritted her teeth as she watched Sasuke's fading into the distance as he was taken away. He is going far, far away…
Why…why must these events take place when their relationship had only started to bud? It's not fair.
It's not fair!
"Ma…da…ra!" gritting her teeth, she desperately need to save her butler. She would not let him be taken like that.
"Alright, men. It's time for us to head back now that we had the them." Madara gave orders again and lead the group towards the exit of the palace. Forcefully dragging both Neji and Sasuke along.
"Sasuke! Sasuke! Sasuke!" cried Mikoto as she was refrained from getting any closer to her arrested son. "MADARA! Why aren't you satisfied when you took Fugaku?! Why must you be so cruel to take my son along?! You beast! You monster! You devil!" the grief stricken mother filled the place with her sorrowful screams and she stopped when Madara turned his heel to approach her.
"This is why I think women are troublesome and noisy. They just don't use their heads before they speak," said the Minister in face of Mikoto. "All this is happening because of Fugaku himself, blame it on him instead," smirking.
"MADARA!" Mikoto started to wrestle free again. "RETURN MY SON, MADARA! MADARA!"
"Madara!"
In a stern call which everyone turned their heads to, Sakura charged forward in confront of the leaving man. She isn't going to give up easily without a fight. The Minister halted his tracks to face the interesting princess who endlessly fought.
Sakura lowered her eyes when she noticed the 'pests' that Madara refers to also includes Neji. This man personally goes all out to uproot the 'weeds' that stands in his way. Cruel man.
"Uchiha Madara, not just that you dare defy me but doing what pleases you! Release Uchiha Sasuke and Hyuuga Neji this once!" Sakura wore a straight lined lip.
"There you go again, princess. I cannot carry out an order out of biasness." How bold of him to the end. If this is the game he plays, so be it!
"You dare lecture me about being biased and if I am, so what?! I am princess, you will obey! Unhand them this once!" Sakura yelled where the rest of everyone at present silently watched, so does Toruhiko.
Princess versus Minister. The situation is stiffening.
"Forgive me, princess but I cann—?!"
His mouth was slightly agape as he believes that there were no tricks of illusion that blind his eyes at the presence of the jewel held in the hand the princess who fearlessly stood before him.
Not only Madara who gasped, Mikoto, the Madame and others who acknowledged the presence of that recognizable jewel were speechlessly agape.
"No…" Neji muttered.
Sasuke began to feel fear when Sakura mindlessly revealed it at the wrong time. Currently this place is filled with the enemy's forces, there is no guarantee what Madara would dare to pull.
'Stupid Sakura! You'll be in danger!' gritting his teeth.
"With this jewel, you dare to disobey me, Madara!" Sakura bossed.
"I would not dare, princess but what if I question the genuine of it?" a stubborn one, Madara just won't want to give in.
"It is genuine, Minister. I guarantee that," Toruhiko suddenly brought herself forward, assuring all witness there are to hear her claim. Subsequently, Madara posed a cunning smirk before going down on to his knee before Sakura.
"Long live the Queen!" loud and clear he announced as he humbled himself, so does every other witness copied him.
"LONG LIVE THE QUEEN! LONG LIVE THE QUEEN!" in united voices.
This is it.
Now that it has come to this, there's no turning back. All for the sake of that one man Sakura wished to save, she will pay the price. No doubt there will be danger as danger is already knocking at her door. In front of her, at her feet, Madara…she will face him head on even if she's going to do this alone.
Back when she listened and believed Toruhiko about Sasuke before all this, she had decided to make her choice for Sasuke…
She will set him free today.
"Your Majesty, if I so humbly speak," Madara, from his small position he glance up to her. "That these traitors should be punished for posing as threats to the Royal House, they have fabricated means to harm you, Your Majesty. Please allow me, Uchiha Madara to execute them as soon as possible."
Sasuke and Neji glared.
"You say that they are great threats to me, Minister?" Sakura tilted her head authoritatively.
"Absolutely. Especially, Uchiha Sasuke. He is the mastermind to take advantage of you for his own desires, Your Majesty." This man has certainly no shame to blame a tale on someone else.
So this is how it's going to be. Then so it will!
"Minister, I have a better plan." Sakura paused, glancing over to Sasuke. "I will pass judgment for Uchiha Sasuke's insolence. Bring him over!"
In stern order, the raven haired male was forcefully brought to her while men continued to restrain him. Sasuke stared at the pink haired female before him, her plain expression disabled him from reading her thoughts. And Madara could only anticipate excitement.
"Take his shirt off," she said. This IS interesting.
"Sakura…what are you doing?" Sasuke's brows arched in perplexity, let it be he could not read her actions, he is afraid that she might do stupid things that would hurt herself.
For his sake, he know she will.
Maintaining her blank facial expression, Sakura directed her stares at Sasuke's tattoo, of old and fading.
A tattoo of pledged oath and a curse at the same time.
A cruel mark that binds freedom of a soul in hope to live and replaced by hatred.
That is the mark that this vile man, Uchiha Madara.
If he is the one who did it, it is about time that he witnessed the undoing of it!
"Give me a blade," Sakura ordered lastly and was granted. Unsheathing it, she directed the edge of it towards Sasuke.
Is she going to kill him?!
If that is so…then let it be, after all, Sasuke had pledged that his life is hers to take.
"Uchiha Sasuke, you will be judged by the name of this blade!" Sakura fastened her grip and raising it high above her…
SLASH!
Speechlessness was hung upon everyone at present including the Minister himself who currently wore a displeasing gesture when he could guess how Sakura is going to lead the day's event.
In destroying his plot.
Falling on to the floor bathed in his own blood, Sasuke stared widely at the cold female before him. Her words were beyond the range of his expectations and he was beyond surprise that she is to completely set him free, like he wished from the start.
From his curse.
From Madara's pursuit.
For that, she cut him with the blade of no hesitation, allowing the cold metal to run deep into his flesh across the oath that he bore. She invalidates it with blood and it isn't done until she cuts again…
"And in the name of Queen, I brand you exiled!" the ties between them.
To save him, she will have to break them apart. Although, he could see the grieving pain in Sakura's eyes which she tried hiding, she will have to sacrifice their love for the sake of his life.
Let them be apart, she wanted him to live free!
At last he is free!
