Hey guys… Long time no see, eh? Well, I'm motivated, so I'm like "Screw this! Let's give these guys something to read!" I kinda have an idea of what I wanna do with this story as of right now, and I think it's really good, and I'm even trying to take it in my own direction, but don't worry, it'll stay true to the story. Nothing too wild; Hermione ain't gonna break up with Harry and date friggen Malfoy. Urgh. Hate that crap.
"Mummy! Daddy! Wake up!" Sarah shouted, happily running into the parents' bedrooms, jumping on the bed, and immediately shooting up, starting to jump on the bed. Harry woke up quickly, his instincts on fire and ready for danger, scrambling for his wand and glasses, which were currently stationed on the dresser next to him, but mid-reach, realizing it was just his new daughter screaming for something. Hermione on the other hand, never having been worried about getting up at the right time or getting beaten instead, slowly woke up, her instincts not in tune as usual, as she had been spending even more time trying to figure out a way to protect her parents, to still no avail. Hermione had searched every book in the library, searching for a foolproof, impenetrable way to protect to of the five people she truly loved and care about, but to no avail. She slowly sat up, reaching out to calm the excited little girl, eventually making contact and gently applying pressure to stop her jumping so fiercely, and Sarah eventually complied, sitting cross-legged, waiting for her two parents to wake up.
"Okay dear, what's up? It's a bit early, isn't it?" Harry asked, sliding on his glasses, and sitting up, yawning and extending his arms, trying to shake the sleep from them.
Sarah grinned and said, "It's my birthday!"
Hermione grinned straight back, and said happily, "It is!"
"Yup! April 6th!" She said, laughing and nodding, falling onto her back
Harry grabbed the little girl's ankle and pulled her into his lap, "Well then, what do you wanna do for your birthday honey?"
Sarah tapped on her chin, contemplating her options, "Well… When I was with my old mommy, we always had a party!"
Harry felt a pang of guilt, and sadness for Sarah, but pushed it away; it was his daughters birthday, and he would not let anything bad happen. "Well then, I guess we'll party till' we're purple!"
"YAY! Can Luna and Neville come?"
"Course they can!" Hermione replied happily, nodding and standing up, stretching her legs out. Sarah let out a happy little cheer, and rushed out of the bedroom, and into her own, trying to find the prettiest thing that she could wear for her special day.
Harry sighed and rubbed his eyes, also standing up, looking at his wife with a melancholy smile.
"What's the matter?" Hermione asked, raising an eyebrow as she walked over to him, wrapping her thin, smooth arms around his waist and resting her chin on his chest, looking into his eyes.
"Nothing, I just feel bad that her mum won't be there to see her baby grow up." Harry said, putting his arms around her in response.
She nodded and kissed his chest softly, "Her mum will see. She's always with Sarah."
"I guess so… What are we gonna do for her birthday though?"
"I was thinking the same thing. Why not go to the Room of Requirement and ask it to set up a party?"
"Sounds brilliant, just like all your other ideas!" Harry said, kissing her nose and smiling. Hermione giggled and nodded, looking down at the ground for a moment, "Maybe while you're getting Neville, we I can go look in the library for a little bit and see if I can find any other books I haven't read yet, there has to be something that I can read that'll give me an idea or something!"
Sighing, Harry shook his head, and said, "No Hermione. Today we are going to enjoy this day with our daughter. No library, no training, Just a day to enjoy the birth of that amazing girl."
Hermione nodded solemnly, and sighed, "I guess you're right. I doubt I would find anything anyway, I think I've read every book on defensive spells and protection that the library has."
Harry laughed, "You've probably read every book in the library, Mione'."
"Shut up Harry. Come on, let's go take a shower." Hermione said, winking at Harry.
A few hours later, with Luna taking care of Sarah, Harry, Hermione, and Neville, were in the RoR, setting up the party. The room had supplied the trio with one large table, and a few smaller ones, all with pink table covers, and painted the room in a comfortable pink, with a couple of toys in a corner of the room, and a large fireplace burning in the middle of the wall. The trio's job was making the food, to which they had Dobby get the food, and drinks, and add more detail to the room, putting up banners, and making the room more comfortable and kid-friendly. When they were done, the group stepped back by the door, and admired the work.
"Looks brilliant. Thanks Neville." Harry said, turning to Neville and grinning.
"It was nothing. All I did was add the plants." He said, nodding toward the few beautiful plants, some of which had interchanging colors on the leaves and others hanging calmly over the room, adding a bit of beauty and diversity to the whole scene.
A few moments later, Luna walked with Sarah, telling her about the Nargles and Snorksacks, when they reached the door, Luna walked back and forth three times, thinking, "I need a place to have a party."
When the door appeared, Luna said, "Stay here, honey. I'll be right back to make sure everything is perfect for you."
She walked into the room, examined it, talking idly with the parents, when Sarah walked in, unable to contain her curiosity and excitement.
"WOW!" She said loudly, grinning and looking around excitedly, her satisfaction easy to see upon her face.
"I told you to stay outside!" Luna said, smiling happily at her expression.
"Sorry! I couldn't hold it in anymore!"
Harry laughed and walked up to his daughter and said, "You look beautiful, little princess!"
Sarah blushed and looked down. She was wearing a dark green dress to match her eyes, but it wasn't a heavy green. It was easy on the eyes, and flowing, like a Cinderella dress. Upon her head, she wore a diamond tiara, the blue diamond shining brightly in the light of the room, making her seem taller and more beautiful.
"Thanks daddy." She said, beaming after she smoothed out the wrinkles in her dress. "Mummy, are those presents for me?" She asked, finally looking at the table in the far back of the room, stacked high with presents.
"They sure are! But we gotta eat first, then we can open presents."
Sarah sighed dramatically, and nodded, shrugging and rushing over to the table, jumping into the big, throne-like chair placed at the end of the table, overlooking the rest of the seats, like a queen's throne. Hermione sat next to her on her left, and Harry sat at her right, helping slide food onto her plate.
After a large dinner of turkey and other delicious things prepared for the elves, Hermione excused herself to the bathroom, saying she'd be back before Sarah opened her presents. The girl in question, rushed over to the table, grabbing the biggest one, and setting in on the ground digging her fingers into the paper, before Harry halted her, "Hold on Sarah, wait for your mummy to get back. I'm sure she want's to see what you've gotten."
"Darn!" Sarah said, calming down, and sighing, looking at the pale blue wrapping paper, watching the little faires from the muggle world float around over the paper.
After about five minutes, Harry was starting to get worried, so he told Sarah to go ahead and unwrap the paper, thinking that he'd go look for her after she finished with this present. Sarah laughed and nodded, tearing off the paper excitedly, wanting to know what she had gotten.
"Whoa!" She gasped, looking at the small child-size broom that was held inside a box. She gently touched the wood and smiled, feeling an odd warmness underneath her hand. As she marveled at her new broomstick, Harry was starting towards the door, when Hermione walked inside, looking very pale, and eyes filled with tears. She rushed to Harry, hugging him as soon as she got close enough, letting her tears fall. Harry, confused, hugged her back, wondering what could have gone wrong to make her this sad.
"I'm too late Harry! I'm too late." She whispered, not letting go of Harry.
"Too late for what, Mione'?" Harry asked nervously, running through all the possible things.
"My… My parents are… Gone. They're dead." She whimpered into Harry's chest.
CLIFFHANGER... Gosh darnski. But I have my story arc started, so I know what I wanna do with this, so my updates should be a bit more frequent. School started, and I'm in football, so I'm pretty tired and not able to write during the week, as I have practice all week. But I hope you guys enjoy this chapter. Reviews are always welcome. Tell me your input! Hate it? Love it? Tell me, and we'll see what we can do.
Thanks guys.
Oh, and before I forget. I realized that I missed a chapter, but its too late. Then I'd have to go and re-upload every chapter, and ain't nobody got time for that… Sorry guys.
