"Oh mein mater fucking gott. Why would anyone make such a rage fueling game?" He had made it to eight, beating his previous record of six. He let out a low growl in frustration as he died once again. Ludwig had began chortling each and every time he yelled out in agony. Gilbert held his breath as he made it to eight but died just before he could make it to nine. The game over screen seemed to be mocking him. Taking offense from it out of rage, he shut the app and dragged his hands down over his eyes and face.
"Having fun? You've spent nearly an hour on that game. It's almost two. Has it really been that long? He rolled over to get a good view of the time from the cable box under the TV. One fifty seven... He was torn between groaning over the game or calling Colby or Hungary to invite them over. I think they'll be a bit too much for their own good.
"Hey, do you think it'd be a good idea to invite Liechtenstein as well? If Switz will allow her of course." His brother let out a sigh.
"If you want to invite her over go ahead. I'm not stopping you but make sure not to be too rambunctious with the three of them, okay?" Sounds good. I think I'll invite her first. He clicked the calling app and went to her contact in his phone. He clicked the call button and put the phone to his ear. Shifting to stare at the white ceiling, laying on his back, Gil waited as the dialing rings were ringing. She picked up after a few rings, he had called her cell phone that Switzerland had given her recently.
"Hello?" She whispered nervously on the other end. Taking a deep breath to prepare himself, he stated his purpose.
"Hey, it's Gilbert. I was wondering if you wanted to come over and watch a movie or two tonight. If you want, I can drop by and pick you up."
"Oh, hallo, Prussia. That'd be great if you could pick me up, should I ask big brother?" Ehhhhhhhhh... Old Switzerland will reject the idea.
"No don't do that, you know he'll completely reject the thought and not even allow you to." It was quiet for a second before she responded.
"True."
"Does he have any meetings later? Perhaps you could sneak out for a few hours while he's gone?"
"Ja, I think he may have one or two... I think I'll get in trouble though." He could almost see her pout in her voice.
"Don't worry about it, Liech. If he gets mad I'll take the blame. You'll be alright, trust me." He raised his tone a pitch as if he was trying to pacify a child He waited for her to agree with him. She was silent for a bit, causing him to think perhaps she hung up on him. Did she hang up on me? Checking his phone by pulling it away from his ear for a second, the call menu was still open.
"G-Gilbert?" He pressed his phone back to his ear.
"Yes?"
"I think you can pick me up around four. You can park your car down the street a bit and walk to my balcony in the garden to fetch me without being caught by big brother." A faint shadow of a smile teased onto his lips.
"Alright, I'll throw a pebble or something like I'm Romeo, haha. Your balcony isn't too far from the ground right? I'll catch you like a prince or some scheisse- ah, excuse my language, princess." She giggles on the other end and went along with it.
"Okay, I'll make sure to be waiting for you before you come. See you at four then?"
"Ja, okay. Four is fine. Bye."
"W-Wait!" His finger froze above the red hang up button, confused as to why she wanted him to wait. He rose the phone back to his ear.
"...Ja?" He heard her mumble hurriedly and a full on smile drew itself onto his face. She's so adorable, oh mein gott. He heard Switz voice along with her mumbling as he listened silently until she spoke to him again.
"Vash just went out and told me he's going out for a business trip to keep up international trade relationships. He said it may be for two or three days. You can come over to hang out now if you would like to." He sat up and rose from the couch.
"Sure I'll be right over."
"Okay, you can come through the front door." They said their goodbyes and he sighed and walked to his room to change. Flipping the light on to illuminate the room, Gilbird fluttered down as well. After glancing about his disheveled abode, Gilbert pulled a pair of jeans from his dresser and sized it up quickly before slipping out of his pajamas and sliding on the jeans. They were a dark rich blue that seemed almost black. He buttoned it up and walked to his closet. Here we go. Should I go with a button up or a polo or perhaps a long sleeved shirt? It is cold outside, heck it's freezing. A polo would be a terrible idea. He skimmed through his attire until he came across a light caramel colored long sleeved shirt with three buttons going down on the center of the collar. This would be perfect with an undershirt and my bike jacket upstairs. Let's wear this today. He took his shirt off with one swift motion and put on some deodorant before putting on an undershirt so he could finally put on the long sleeved and undid the first two buttons to see if It looked better. It did so he snatched a new pair of socks out of his dresser and quickly slipped them on as he made way for the stairs. He stood in the doorway and turned back to Gilbird who was perched on his bed.
"You wanna come? It's going to be pretty cold out, bud. I also can't let you fly around a lot in case you drop some feathers." His bird twitched it's head and chirped once as it ruffled its feathers. It took off and landed on his head so he flicked the light switch down and ascended. The steps let out a muted thud as he placed a foot down on them as he walked. He began to jog up the steps and turned to the front door, on his way to the garage via the doorway adjacent to the foyer.
"Where are you going?" Gilbert paused in front of the door before turning back to the kitchen where Germany who was sitting in the kitchen was examining him through the hallway.
"...Out?" Germany rose an eyebrow at him. "I'm going to Switzerland's to chill with Liech since he's out. She'll be coming over for the movie anyway so I thought I would go pick her up."
"Are you going to borrow my car? I'm going to be taking it to my meeting later in case you forgot." He felt his face twitch out of annoyance but he didn't want to cause needless strife between them both. Can I just go already, mein gott, Ludwig.
"I'm taking the chopper so don't worry." He shifted and took his leather coat off of the coat rack, it was worn and broken in but it was comfortable. "The keys are on the key rack in the garage, right?"
"Where else would they be?" Germany clarified rhetorically.
"Whatever, I'm bringing Gilbird with me. Ich komme wieder before five, with Liech of course." He twisted the doorknob and entered their garage. He took a deep breath, standard garage smell. Ich liebe es. Letting the breath out in one exhale, he grabbed the motorcycle keys from the rack, there was a teutonic cross on the keychain. Germany had received the bike from America but Ludwig never rode the bike so it was Prussia's by default. Gilbert didn't mind though, it was something that he came to own. Usually, he used to for leisurely trips and getting around in the summer and warm months. It's roar was quite loud and much like himself, it's entrance was impossible to tune out. Grasping the key to the chopper in his hand and letting the others jingle as he walked, he walked around the other vehicles they kept stored in their garage. It was a roomy space with enough floor space for three cars and one motorcycle to be stored at a time. He walked passed the cars that were out of commission because Germany and himself had to fix them up. As soon as his eyes fell on his motorcycle his mind remembered all the fun times he had with it. He had driven around with Colby more times than he was willing to remember, sometimes they went to the beach an hour or two away and other times they just drove around for the day, or until her curfew. She was is in high school still back then, so he pampered her like a child and spent a lot of time keeping her company. It's a wonder how he thought she would always be a little sister to him, remarkable really. Never thinking that maybe one day she would develop feelings of romance towards him. A sharp pain hit him in the throat as he remembered. He shook his head and proceeded to raise the garage door. Mounting his bike like a horse, he put the key in the ignition. "Ready?" Gilbird tweeted once in response and snuggled into Gilberts coat, he zipped it up so that Gilbird was almost completely inside his leather jacket before he revved the engine to life. Swiveling his head around to watch his back as he wheeled the bike out of the garage without running anything over or breaking anything as he went in reverse. When he was completely out of the garage he parked the bike so he could get a helmet off of a shelf for Liechtenstein and to shut the door before he left. Shifting his center of balance a bit, he shut the door and made sure that it didn't make a monstrous thud as he did. Stepping back to his bike he smoothly began to drive it down the driveway and into the street. There was surprisingly no traffic, but then again it wasn't rush hour yet. The cold winter wind whipped his face as he drove along. He tried to ride slowly so as to not slip on any black ice on the road. In order to reach Switzerland's house, he had to drive a town over. He continued down the road but turned onto the highway when he reached the lane after a few minutes of driving through town to get to it. He slowed his speed a bit as he switched lanes so that he wouldn't cut anyone off and incidentally have a car crash. This is going to be her first time riding on a motorcycle huh. This is going to be a fun trip. Good thing I brought the helmet. Even if I were to crash with no helmet on, I wouldn't die but I'd prefer for myself to be hurt rather than her. He drove down the freeway until he came upon the exit he needed to take to go to her house. His jacket sleeves flapped as the wind brushed passed them.
It wasn't long before he drove his way to her street. Her house was relatively secluded and isolated from the rest of the town, it had it's own street and the driveway- a long, worn gray stoned path with trees going along it until they reached the house courtyard. From there the house was a sprawling mansion alone in the trees and fields it was surrounded by. The leaves on the trees were gone. It was aged but it grew elegant as time passed, much like a fine wine. The walls now began to showcase a bit of ivy over the years. As he rode up the driveway Gilbird crawled his way up to the collar of Prussias jacket to peer out on the surroundings. He quickly ducked his head back down, Prussia smiled when he noticed. Approaching the house, he slowed down and pulled over to park in front. He whipped his phone out for a second to see the time. Two twelve.
