So I wrote a ton of stuff. About 4500 words. I don't know how I'm gonna divide it up. Odds are I might make the second half a large chapter, like "Touching Base," but better.

So yeah. Here we go.

Don't own Borderlands

Overlook had become the new HQ for the Crimson Raiders, as well as the refugee camp for the survivors of Sanctuary. Needless to say, as it was, the town could never hold that many people. Thankfully, the VCE realized how important it was that the Raiders survive, and sent reinforcements to Overlook.

These reinforcements included Drop Shelters, instant buildings that could be shot down from space and lived in. They were tall, simple buildings that were impaled into the ground around the bottom of the cliff that Overlook sat upon. The entrances were located on the top of each building, near the rest of the town.

The conditions were pretty good, but they never really were meant to be that comforting, usually used for war-time. Which, technically, it was.

The new Vault Hunters were nearly at the entrance of the town. Everybody was somewhat on edge, mostly because they had to do so much to get there. Clyde had himself wrapped up in his cloak and seem to be more nervous about the meeting.

Hyzin, however, was pretty eager to meet their predecessors.

"I'm just saying, you never know what could happen!" He said. "If you're so confident, you should bet on it!"

"I'm still not making that bet." Misty replied, having listened to Hyzin the entire walk.

"I could totally hook up with Gaige by the end of the week! You're the only one that doubts me!" Hyzin exclaimed. "Ted, you belive in me, right?"

"I reckon you could pick up a lady if you put your mind to it." Ted replied. "Just remember to be a gentleman. And avoid the robot. It might be protective."

"Gotcha!" Hyzin said to the good doctor. "What about you, Clyde?" He turned around. "Clyde?"

Clyde had stopped in front of an information board in front of the town. Hyzin looked at him, then grinned.

"Did they?" Hyzin asked out loud, then ran over to the board. "They did!" he said, then gestured to Misty and Ted to come over.

On the board were five different wanted posters. Four of them were issued by the robot army. Each of the posters presented a picture of each Vault Hunter, a bunch of different ones and zeros, and a translation, in case any living beings wanted to cash in on the bounty.

Obviously, there was an honor code among the different citizens of Overlook not to hunt down Vault Hunters. Dignity aside, it would be suicide. Instead, the posters were put up as objects of pride.

"'Lieutenant Misty Burch.'" Misty read out loud. "'War Crimes.' War Crimes? That's it? That's the same as Axton's!" She complained. "It's even the same price! Five Billion! Bullshit!"

"Heh. Check it out." Ted muttered. "Ten billion for malpractice." He looked at it closer. "They're also charging me for Zed and Ned's stuff. Five Billion for each. My head is worth twenty billion. Neat."

"'Drug trafficking, manufacturing, murder, and possession of illegal substances.'" Hyzin read. "Who told them about my stash?" He said jokingly. "Hundred billion! Suck it, bitches!"

"I think that most of that is outstanding bounties from different worlds." Misty said. "Unlike the rest of us, you were actually a criminal."

"Well, it still looks nice." Hyzin looked at Clyde's poster. "Weird. You're only one million."

The only charge on Clyde's poster was "Theft."

"What did you steal?" Ted asked.

"I dunno…" Clyde replied. "Maybe he's blaming all the looting on me."

Hyzin looked at him skeptically, then looked back at the posters, as well as the fifth one. "Huh. Look at that. The other wanted poster is from the Raiders." He read it out loud. "'Wanted: Man who response to 'Claptrap.' Wanted for espionage and the trading of illegal information. ' 'Claptrap?' That's weird." Hyzin said.

"Who cares?" Ted asked. "Maybe we'll get to hunt him down later. He's the only one they have a hit out for."

If Clyde were not wearing his helmet, the next question out of his teammates mouths would have been why all of the color drained from his face. Misty, however, reassuringly patted his shoulder.

"Check it out! The alive price for Claptrap matches the dead price for Clyde!" Hyzin pointed out. "Anyway, let's go into the town. I need a beer."

He and Ted walked ahead, leaving Clyde and Misty to trail behind. Clyde was fidgeting, and Misty swore under her breath.

"This is a bad idea!" He whispered to Misty.

"I'm honestly beginning to agree with you." Misty muttered back.

"Jack knows! How do we know the Vault Hunters don't?" Claptrap asked.

"We're the Vault Hunters now, so they should be open to us." Misty said. "Also, if they have the sign for Claptrap, and they put up the sign for Clyde out of pride, they don't know yet."

"They don't know you guys! They know me!" Claptrap said.

"It'll be ok. We won't let anything happen to you." Misty reassured him.

"...Ok." Clyde sighed. "This depression stuff doesn't really feel right."

"It doesn't really fit anybody." She replied. "And you aren't depressed. You're just nervous."

"And terrified. You aren't the one who pissed off some of the greatest warriors in the universe." Clyde replied.

"Yeah...Good luck with that." Misty said. "Now, let's not keep Hyzin and Ted waiting."

"Ok. Let's go!" And with that, the Vault Hunters ventured off to meet their predecessors.

"You invited all the Vault Hunters?" Sarah asked Axton. They were talking in the new Raider's HQ, which was located in one of the Drop Shelters. Sarah was video calling in from her own ship, which was...Well, Axton didn't really care where she was.

All he really needed to know was what he should expect from the new Vault Hunters.

"Yeah. Didn't really see what the big deal was. It's good to have that comradeship. What would…" He narrowed his eyes at the screen.

"What wrong?" Sarah asked.

"You have that look on your face." He replied.

"What look?" Sarah asked.

"That you're hiding something." He replied. "Remember the dog?"

"That wasn't my fault. That was just a bad idea in general."

""Doesn't matter. What are you hiding?" He asked.

"Look. We can speak about this matter later. I believe you have some Vault Hunters to meet." Sarah said, and with that, she ended the call.

Axton didn't entirely believe her, but she was right. He heard some commotion in the other room. He walked in to meet with the other Vault Hunters.

The lounge was similar to the one back in Sanctuary. Gaige and Maya were talking to one another, Mordecai was drinking some skag ale, and Zero was just standing in the corner. Brick was still off-world, preferring to try to both hunt Vaults and destroy robots at the same time.

Axton nodded at Lilith, who was waiting over by the door.

"They here?" He asked.

"I can see them walking up here." She said. "This group's big on hats. There's a kid with a black hat on, a girl with some red thing on her head, and another freaking guy with a helmet! What is with Vault Hunters and covered faces? There's always one!"

"I think the girl is Sarah's girl." Axton said.

"You mean her right hand man?" She asked.

"I mean whatever you think it means." Axton snickered.

"...I still have no idea what you're talking about."

"You'll find out when you're older." Axton replied. "The bald one is Zed's brother."

"No shit. It's not like they look exactly alike. What about shades?"

"He has a pretty huge rap sheet. Ton of crimes and drug dealing and what not. Kids only 24."

"Sheesh. I know Gaige was on the young side, but that shouldn't be the standard."

"Ah, well. I have no idea about helmet, but I suppose we'll find out in a few minutes." He said.

The new Vault Hunters opened the door….

So yeah, Cliffhanger. This should go well.

Alright, I'll wait a bit before posting the next chapter. I don't want to overload you guys.
