Author's Note: Well I have caved in and posted the next chapter. I felt bad leaving you all where I did, though this ending isn't going to help you feel much better since it is only a short chapter that takes a look at Loki's point of view on the incident. JaviMason19691 trust me, it hurt me to write it :( Caitreylove I hope this is considered updating soon enough for you! I am quite pleased that I was able to stun you though, which I suppose is a bit cruel on my part. MithrilEvanesco I am glad you liked the drama, but I fear I can't promise that this next chapter will alleviate your concern… Reteka Hyuuga you tell these misbehaving characters! I am sorry that your heart broke, but I am glad that you enjoyed the drama none-the-less!

Sigyn was out the door in a flash, and Loki knew he had to go after her. He jumped out of bed and recovered his trousers from where they had been discarded the evening before. It took him far too long to get the pants on, but he also took the time to throw a shirt on as well since he had no idea where he would be chasing Sigyn. He managed to dodge the ruined breakfast tray as he reached the door to his chambers in a couple of strides. He threw the door open and looked down the corridor in both directions. There was no sign of Sigyn anywhere, but if he knew her as well as he thought he did, she would be heading for the stables. He left Amora sitting silently in his room, and hoped she had the good sense to make herself scarce before he returned. The odds of him being discovered with Amora had been growing, but in all honesty that is why he had done it. There was no emotional attachment between the two of them; it had merely excited him to know that every time he was with her he was flirting with the danger of getting caught. The only thing he hadn't counted on was it being Sigyn who would discover them. He sprinted towards the stables thinking that it shouldn't be any trouble for him to overtake her, but he never once saw her. He glanced inside the stables in a defeated manner once he reached them, but immediately noticed that Roan was still there. Loki's heart lightened if only slightly. Sigyn was still somewhere in the palace. The question was if she hadn't gone to the stables, where in the Nine Realms had she gone!? Loki thought through his options, and the answer struck him. His mother. If Sigyn were to confide in anyone it would be Frigga. Loki made his way to his mother's sitting room and knocked anxiously at the door. His mother's personal maid answered his knock with a curtsy.

"Who is it, Eydís?" Frigga inquired.

"Your son, My Queen. The Prince Loki."

"Let him in."

Loki wasted no time in entering his mother's room, but before he could say anything she had wrapped him in a tight embrace.

"Good morning darling." She greeted before pulling back and giving him a smile. She reached up to brush the hair out of his face fondly. "I can never get over how much you've grown."

"Yes, it is astounding… ha…"

Frigga cut in before Loki could say any more.

"I remember when you were just a baby. You were so tiny then…"

"Yes, I am sure I was. Has S…"

"You were so adorable. I couldn't let Thor play with you alone though because he always thought it would be a good idea to give you sharp objects."

"How thoughtful of him…"

As Frigga cut him off yet again to reminisce Loki's impatience grew. He knew she wouldn't be acting like this if it weren't his bloody nameday.

"Mother!" He finally said in a raised voice.

"Yes?" She replied, a bit confused by his tone.

"Have you seen Sigyn this morning?"

Loki assumed the answer was 'no' seeing as she would be in quite the foul mood with him were the answer 'yes.'

"No, I didn't realize she was here. Is something the matter?"

"No, of course not. I just thought I saw Roan in the stables earlier this morning, and I was going to be upset if Sigyn had come here to visit you without at least saying 'hello' to me on my nameday." Loki lied.

"I see," Frigga replied with a hint of suspicion, "well I have not seen her. If she is here and she hasn't gone to see you, I would assume she is in the library."

Loki nodded and then kissed his mother on the forehead before leaving her room.

Of course she would go to the library. Why hadn't he thought of that? Loki made his way briskly to the library. He didn't see her when he entered, but that didn't mean she wasn't somewhere amongst the rows of books. He called out her name a few times as he walked through the large room, but he received no reply. After giving the room a thorough search he came to the conclusion that she wasn't there after all. He pulled out a chair from the table and sat down. Between the stables, his mother's sitting room, and now the library he had been searching for Sigyn for over an hour. Where had she gone? Could she have possibly gotten lost somewhere in the palace? It seemed unlikely, but he supposed that it wasn't out of the question. With a sigh he stood from the chair and began to wander the corridors that he knew were less familiar to her. He wasn't sure how long he walked, but Sigyn was nowhere to be seen. He decided that he would look one final spot before giving up the search. When he was upset he would go practice his dagger throwing, perhaps she would think to do the same thing. He made his way to the training grounds and spotted Thor and the others hard at work. Fandral was the first to notice his approach, and he gave Loki an uneasy smile. One thing was made clear to Loki as the glares of Thor and the other four warriors landed on him: Sigyn had been here.

"Sigyn?" He asked despondently.

"Is long gone." Thor replied none too happily.

It was rare that Thor ever got truly upset with Loki, but there was no doubting that his older brother was furious with him.

"I see…"

Thor grabbed him by the shirt and slammed him against the nearest pillar before Loki could say any more.

"What possessed you to do such a foolish thing!?" Thor growled.

Fandral and Volstagg tried to pull Thor off of Loki while Sif and Hogun just scowled at the younger Prince.

"I don't know! Why does it even matter to you!? You sleep with every being that wears a dress!"

"But I've never claimed to tie myself to only one like you had!" Thor argued back.

"Well slamming me against a wall isn't going to fix anything! I was looking for Sigyn to apologize!" Loki replied harshly.

Thor loosened his grip.

"The question is are you sorry you did it, or are you sorry you got caught?" Thor queried before allowing Fandral and Volstagg to pull him back away from Loki.

Loki didn't reply. Instead, he made his way quickly back to his chambers. To his great displeasure, Amora was lounging carelessly on the couch when he opened the door.

"Finally, it took you long enough!" She complained.

Loki felt like throwing something, but refrained from doing so in Amora's presence.

"Get out now." He commanded, barely keeping his rage under control.

Amora sensed the danger lurking behind his words, and was out of the room and down the corridor in no time. Loki slammed his door shut before picking up the cup that had somehow managed not to break when Sigyn dropped the unfortunate breakfast tray that morning. He sent the glassware sailing across the room, and it shattered against the wall opposite him. Loki moaned as he slid down the wall. Throwing things didn't make him feel any better about the situation. There was only one thing he could do to solve this problem, and he wasn't sure he had the courage to do it. He had to face Sigyn; he needed to explain himself to her. The question was would she allow him to explain, and if she did, would she forgive him? Did he even deserve her forgiveness? He had been seeing Amora behind Sigyn's back for well over a year now. He had never intended it to go on for so long, but the adrenaline involved with knowing that at any moment they could be found out had been too addicting to let go. He didn't care for Amora, and she certainly didn't care for him, but now because of his foolishness he might lose the woman he did care for. One of his feet accidentally slid out and knocked the tray a bit further from him, and that is when he saw it: a book lying near the uneaten remains of his breakfast. He leaned over to pick it up and then turned the tome over in his hands. It didn't look like one of his, and it was unmarked. He opened it to the first page to see whom it belonged to, and he instantly recognized Sigyn's handwriting.

"Loki,

You once told me that you wished you could write down every word that I ever said so that you wouldn't forget them. In this book I have tried to do my best to fulfill that wish. Though I have not been able to write them all down, I have managed to record my favorites. I hope that you find this to be an acceptable gift for your nameday, and I hope we shall be able to add to its pages as the years go by.

Your Comrade in Arms,

Sigyn"

Loki began to study the pages intently. He could remember so many of these conversations, and wished more than anything that he could just teleport himself back to any of these moments. He refused to put the book down till he reached the end. When he reached the last entry, he traced his finger over it. It was so short and simple, yet he could tell that it was the one that had meant the most to Sigyn.

"Loki."

He stared at that solitary word for who knows how long imagining every way he had ever heard Sigyn say it, and for the first time since he was a child he cried.
