Secondly, I am SO SO SO SO SO sorry for not updating for a crazy long time. I have been so busy lately and I had major writers block… Please understand that I'm on vacation so I don't have a lot of time to write and reread everything.

I hope you will enjoy this chapter and if you have any idea's for the next one, please let me know

Regina woke up in the middle of the night. At first she didn't know what woke her up, but then she heard it. She heard a scream coming from the room next door. Hastily, she got out of bed and ran to the little girl's room. Upon entering she was met with the frightened little girl, curled up into a shaking ball on her bed. Regina sat down next to her and pulled her on her lap.

"Hey, little Princess." Regina whispered to the frightened child. "What's wrong, baby? What's got you so scared?"

Emma answered something, but it wasn't understandable because of her crying. Suddenly lightning light up the room, closely followed by thunder.

Emma whimpered and buried her face into her mother's shoulder.

Regina, having caught on with what was frightening her daughter, hugged Emma tightly. She started to sing softly to help calm Emma down. Singing always helped south Emma down.

Once the little girl stopped crying Regina stood and carried her little girl to her own room. "How about you sleep in my room tonight? That way I can protect you and you won't get scared again, right?"

Emma's eyes light up. "I love sleeping with you, Mommy." Regina couldn't help but smile at her daughter's words. If you had asked her a few years ago, she would have told you that it was impossible for her to be this happy.

A lot of things have changed since she met and adopted Emma, but Regina doesn't regret a single thing about it. To be honest she hated her life, before she had a daughter. Now, things couldn't be more perfect.

Regina let Emma sleep in her bed every time the little girl got scared. Sometimes, they did it, just because they love being close together.

"Mom?" Emma asks, just before falling asleep close to her mother.

Regina smiled. "Yes, Princess?"

"I love you!" And with that thought in mind the little girl fell back asleep, thunderstorm completely forgotten.

Regina kissed her daughter's forehead. "I love you too, little Angel. Sleep well, my Love." After these words Regina fell asleep too.
