"How can someone as smart as you be such an idiot?!" Marie's voice rose over the sound of the gear clicking in Stein's head.
"Marie, I don't think that it is that big of a deal-"
"Franken Stein, you get this… this thing out of here right now!"
Stein couldn't help but smirk and chuckle as he brushed past the irate death scythe. He scooped the patchworked experiment up and into his arms, turning to look at Marie as he held it as someone would hold a baby. Technically it was something akin to a child to him.
"Get rid of it!"
"I thought that you liked animals, Marie."
"That one isn't even alive!"
"I can fix that, if that is what is bothering you."
Marie's face paled and Stein smirked again. Her voice was low and serious. "Franken, I'm going to make a nice suggestion to you. Don't leave stuff like that lying around outside your actual work lab. If you do it again, you may find yourself wondering why your dinner is no longer magically appearing on the table."
Stein laughed, and Marie's face contorted in anger. A moment later Stein and the large patchworked rat were on a crash course to the doorway that led to his lab. He hit it hard, but couldn't help but smirk as he stood, untangling his legs from each other.
Even if it was painful, causing Marie to have to admonish him for something was so amusing he wasn't willing to give it up.
A/N: This was written from the word "admonish" by Yuuki. I don't own Soul Eater.
