Maria found herself walking into Randy's apartment, she didn't knock and they may have been rude but she needed to talk to him, she didn't know what she thought he was going to be doing but she certainly wasn't expecting him to be cuddled up to Adam taking a nap. Without further thought she snapped a photo, "Wake up boys."
Randy's eyes popped open only to see Adam lying on top of him before quickly pushing him on the floor, "Dude!"
"Huh?" Adam asked rubbing his head, "What the hell man?"
"You were sleeping on me." Randy stated in disgust.
"I was?" Adam asked too tired to care.
"Yes I don't think I can get drool on my stomach." Randy said as he wiped Adam's drool off of him.
"I hate to interupt this little fight of yours, but I need to talk to Randy, so can you leave?" Maria asked, she needed to get the conversation over with.
"Sure," Adam made his way to the door, "See you guys later."
"Yeah." Maria shut the door, "We need to talk."
"We don't have another kid do we?" Randy joked.
"Randy this is serious." Maria stated, she was hoping that Randy didn't take what she was about to say the wrong way.
"Okay, what's up?" Randy asked wondering why she had suddenly gotten so serious.
"Is anything going on between you and Mickie?" Maria asked, if there was a secret thing going on between the two of them then she knew she would need alcohol to do this.
"No, Mickie and I have been broken up for years." Randy replied deliberately leaving out their casual relationship from a few weeks before.
"She told me about your benefits relationship." Maria told him expecting the truth.
"Okay a couple of weeks, what does that have to do with anything?" Randy asked.
"I can't just come out and say this so why don't you get us a couple of beers?" Maria asked ultimately deciding that she needed beer for the conversation.
"Sure," Randy stood up only to feel the pain rushing back to his legs, he was hoping his face didn't show it, but as soon as he took a footstep he found himself crashing down on the floor, "son of a bitch."
"Randy are you alright?" Maria asked rushing over to him.
"Yeah I just tripped over the coffee table, would you mind grabbing those beers?" Randy asked, a beer would make him feel a lot better.
"Of course not." Maria walked over to his refridgerator and grabbed two beers, hopefully it would make him less angry.
"Thanks Ria." Randy pulled himself back on his couch, "Sit down."
Maria took a seat next to Randy, "Okay look, when I first found out that our daughter was alive, I was in extreme denial, I wasn't even sure if I wanted kids, then Madison showed up and I am so glad she did, now I want what's best for her."
"I know I feel the same way." Randy told her, wondering what she was getting at.
"So I want you to understand I'm doing this for her and only her." Maria said, she didn't want him to think that she hated Mickie, Mickie was her best friend, but she just wasn't a good influence.
"Okay Maria I get it, just tell me." Randy stated, he knew he wasn't going to like what Maria said, but as a good man once said ' it is better to rip the band aid off fast than slow.
"I want you to stop hanging out with Mickie." Maria said, the only way she knew how to say it.
"What?" Randy asked, why would he have to stop seeing Mickie, it made no sense.
"She is a bad influence on Madison." Maria continued, trying to get to the full explanation.
"You can't tell me who I can or cannot see." Randy argued, he couldn't believe this, just because he and Maria had a kid didn't give her the right to control him.
"Randy I'm not trying to." Maria replied knowing she wasn't sounding that good.
"Well what are you trying to do?" Randy asked, if she wasn't trying to control him, then he wanted to know what the hell she thought she was doing.
"I'm trying to get you to see she is a bad influence, you know in LA she would bring a different guy to our place almost every week, hell I think she even met one of them at a nude beach!" Maria exclaimed, all she wanted was for him to agree with her.
"Mickie is just friendly, really friendly." Randy defended her, it had became natural over the years for him to defend Mickie, because in all honesty he had been around a lot himself.
"No Randy she's a slut!" Maria yelled getting angry that he didn't agree.
"Mickie is not a slut!" Randy yelled, not believing she would talk about her best friend that way.
"Yes she is!"
"Well I guess when Mickie isn't around the gloves come off huh?"
"Candice what are you doing here?" Maria asked as her hands began to shake, if Mickie found out what she said, she would never forgive her.
"I'm a detective remember?" Candice asked, "We're investigating Randy's shooting."
"Well can you give us a minute?" Randy asked, "I'll call you soon."
"Alright and Maria we'll be in touch, you can convince me why I shouldn't tell Mickie about this." Candice said before sending Maria a glare, "By the way tell Jeff I say hi."
"Damn it." Maria said looking at the ground, not only did that bitch sleep with her husband, she now had dirt on her.
"Mickie is your best friend, how can you say this about her?" Randy asked finally airing his thoughts.
"Because I know it's true Randy, she lets guys use her, hell she uses them, she's practically a sex addict." Maria replied, she wasn't going to sugarcoat it anymore, she was just saying what she thought.
"That is not true!" Randy yelled, if Mickie heard this not even he would be able to drag her off of Maria.
"You know it is." Maria protested.
"Fine if you don't want Madison around Mickie, I don't want her around Jeff." Randy replied crossing his arms, if she wanted to change his life, he'd change hers too.
"That is different!" Maria exclaimed, how could he compare her husband to his friend?
"How?" Randy asked wondering out loud.
"For starters Jeff doesn't need to get tested for a std every week!" Maria hissed.
"You are a bitch."
"Because I'm telling you who I don't want our daughter to be around." Maria responded not getting why that made her a bitch.
"No because you are bad talking your best friend." Randy countered, trying to make her see she was being unreasonable.
"No I am not!" Maria yelled, or at least she wasn't meaning to...
"Yes you are and maybe Madi shouldn't be around Jeff, didn't he used to get high all the time?" Randy asked remembering the court case from earlier, Jeff had pot in his system then.
"No! Jeff has tried that stuff, but who hasn't." Maria tried to reason with him despite that she had never tried it.
"Come on, I'm just telling you maybe Jeff isn't a good influence." Randy said purposely using Maria's word to his advantage.
"Its different!" Maria repeated, Jeff was her husband he couldn't not be around her.
"No it isn't." Randy replied.
"I am in love with Jeff!" Maria reminded him, not getting why that wasn't getting through to him.
"Well I'm in love with Mickie!"
"What?" Maria asked her voice lowering before realizing he did love her, he was defending her just like she did Jeff.
"Uh I think Madison would love Mickey Mouse, they're having some kind of play down at the theater." Randy tried to cover up his words hoping Maria wouldn't notice.
"Oh my god, you love Mickie." Maria put her hands on her head, now that she thought about it, it was so obvious.
"No I don't." Randy replied, still thinking Maria might let it go.
"How did I not realize this, Randy I-"
"Because I don't want anyone to know!" Randy exclaimed finally giving up.
"Why don't you want anyone to know?" Maria asked curiously.
"Because the last time she told me she loved me I didn't say it back, I was shocked that she could still love me!"
"Randy why wouldn't she still love you?" Maria asked wondering why Randy felt that way.
"Because I never expected to ever have anything with Mickie when I was in high school, sure I knew who she was and I knew she was hot but then something changed when Michelle and Layla started treating her like garbage, I remember they never liked each other they were always on different sides on everything and I thought it was so cool how she stood up for herself, but then Michelle went and sung that song in the cafeteria and Mickie ran out something about that made me mad I didn't understand why, it was the girl who had always stood up for herself and they finally made her crack and from that moment I've wanted something with her maybe I did before that but that was when I realized it, but you know she was always so amazing to me, so amazing that she would never like me, but then Trish told me she did and since then I have tried to be everything she deserved, I'm not what she deserves, she deserves some guy who can give her the world, some guy that can be everything she ever wanted."
"Randy the only guy Mickie has ever really wanted was you." Maria told him and from what she knew it was absolutely true.
"Maybe but that doesn't make me good enough for her." Randy repeated.
"No it makes you perfect for her."
A/N so this chapter was a bit different and most chapters won't be like this, I just couldn't find a right place to put in another plot for this chapter, hope you guys liked it! :)
