A/N: Hello everyone. This chapter is a little different. Rather than being one chapter I wrote this more as three mini-chapters that focus on some important characters. Hope y'all enjoy it!

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto or the Legend of Zelda

Jugo ducked under a swiping claw from a giant ten headed dog with grey ringed eyes. He ran between the dog's legs past the beast. He skidded to a stop and groaned as he saw a giant rhino with the same grey eyes charging at him.

'I don't think I could have ever planned for today,' Jugo thought while dodging the rhino that attempted to trample him. 'Spend the morning going in and out of maniacal moods followed by an old man fighting me. Just to make things even stranger I am then reminded that I am a sage.' Jugo raised his right arm, his skin morphing into a large shield. The claw of the dog slammed into Jugo's arm, tossing him in the air. 'And to top it off, now I'm fighting giant animals after everything just decided to collapse around me.' Jugo turned his flying body towards the animals on the ground as wings formed on his back. 'On the bright side I'm not going insane while using my techniques,' Jugo thought as he glided around the beasts. He landed on the ground and saw the rhino charging once more. He dodged the rhino once more, but felt his body crushed beneath the paws of the large dog.

Jugo hissed in pain under the weight of the monstrous dog. 'Dammit too much running and thinking not enough fighting.' Jugo looked at the ground and saw a single blade of grass illuminated by a ray of light from between the beast's claws. Jugo grabbed the grass in his hand and grinned. 'I was told not to do it but screw it.'

"Feel nature's madness!" Jugo yelled. Jugo's body let out a bright green light and the earth trembled. Trees, grass, and flowers jutted out of the ground, entangling the dog and rhino. Jugo held out his glowing hand and motioned it towards the ground, causing the fresh vegetation to pull the beasts into the ground.

Jugo smiled at the beautiful garden he had created. He looked at the sky and smiled. 'That didn't really feel bad at all!' Jugo's eyes widened as the sky flashed with a bronze light and he clutched his heart. He groaned in pain as started to sweat profusely. He forced himself to sit up as he struggled to breath. He looked over at Jiraiya who was laying motionlessly on the ground.

'That is not good,' he thought as slowly stood up. 'A sage just died and I'm not sure if it affected him or if he even felt it.'

Jugo saw a shadow had come over him and looked up. A giant ox with grey ringed eyes fell on him.

'Dammit this is going from bad to worse,' Jugo thought angrily. He grabbed a handful of grass and flowers with a frown. 'It worked once, it should work again!'

"Feel nature's madness!" Jugo screamed once more. The small amount of foliage grew slightly in his hand. 'So it doesn't hurt me to use magic but I can't tell how much I have left. What else could go wrong?' Jugo's eyes were filled with gold and his heart pounded in his chest as holy rage and fear washed over him. The beast leapt off of him and he gripped his chest which ached once more. Jugo looked over where Jiraiya was laying and saw only small flecks of yellow light floating into the sky, Jiraiya nowhere to be seen.

Jugo watched in horror as a blonde teenage boy with golden glowing eyes dismantled the group of orange haired men. With every movement the boy made, divine energy flowed out of him and crashed into Jugo in waves. Jugo tried to stand against the energy, but each wave forced him back down.

The last orange haired man let out a terrified scream as he fell to the ground, causing Jugo to wince. Jugo's fear turned to curiosity as the blonde boy fell to the ground at the feet of the black haired teen. The boy disappeared leaving behind Jugo, Orochimaru, and the black haired teen.

Jugo stood up and surveyed the area. He shuffled over to a large circle of blood caked dirt and knelt down. He grabbed a small protruding red circle. He turned the circle around to reveal a yellow medallion. He closed his hand around the medallion and placed his fist on his head, his eyes closed. After a moment of silence, he stood up.

'I must find the others.'

Shikamaru smiled as he floated in a fluffy white cloud, the sun warming his body as he watched clouds. He pulled the fluff of the cloud around him into a blanket and looked below him, seeing more clouds and the green forest surrounding his home of Konoha.

He turned his gaze back towards the clouds above him as blue sky turned to black night. He looked at the full moon and his brow furrowed. A bright gold light appeared in front of the grey moon and appeared to grown in size. Shikamaru's eyes widened as the light rushed towards him. He attempted to roll out of the way but could not move. The light pierced through him and started to drag him towards the ground. Tears of pain welled in his eyes as the light burned his chest. Through his blurred vision he saw the black starry night fade into a hellish wasteland.

Shikamaru gasped, trying to force air into his lungs as he stood up. He nearly fell when he found himself in the middle of a burning forest. He looked through the smoke and horror filled him as everywhere he looked he saw burning corpses of his friends. He felt a pull from behind and turned around. A black figure covered in orange flame stood across from him. The lush meadow between Shikamaru and the figure turned into a decaying wasteland behind the burning image.

"Shikamaru!" a voice called out.

Shikamaru looked behind himself towards the voice. He saw a small village with faceless people cowering in fear. He looked back at the figure, who held out his right hand in a claw. Shikamaru growled as he clasped his hands together. The figure's hand pushed towards him, but was stopped by a translucent gold barrier.

"Shikamaru!"

The figure leaned in towards the man, causing the barrier to start shake. Shikamaru roared in anger and tried to push back towards the figure.

"Shikamaru!"

The burning figure pushed its arm into the barrier, causing it to crack and pushing him to his knees.

"Shikamaru!"

With a loud cry Shikamaru tried to push against the figure, but he could not move. The cracked barrier shattered and the burning hand engulfed his head.

"Shikamaru!"

Sikamaru's eyes snapped open and were met with kind black eyes. He looked at the pleasantly plump face of Choji. He looked around the hospital room as the soft beeping of a heart monitor drew his attention. He saw his father laying in the bed, asleep.

"Are you okay?" Choji asked. "It looked like you were having a nightmare and you started to bleed from your nose."

Shikamaru reached up with his right hand and wiped his face. His eyes were caught by a dim golden light exuding from the back of his hand. On the back of his hand was a golden triangle on the bottom right of his hand. The light faded and the triangle disappeared.

"Did you see that too?" Shikamaru asked.

"Y-yeah I did," Choji replied. "Do you know what it was?"

Shikamaru looked at his hand and frowned. 'Why was I chosen to have the Triforce of Wisdom?' he thought. 'This makes no sense. And why can't I stop thinking in this language?'

"For some reason I know exactly what it was," Shikamru said. "It's troublesome."

Choji chuckled. "Of course it is. Well since you're good, I got some good news and some great news!"

"Oh? What is the good news?"

"According to the doctors, your dad is fine from whatever those chest pains he had yesterday and can go home tomorrow!" Choji said jovially.

"And the great news?"

"Your family, Ino's family, and mine are all going out to eat to celebrate!"

Shikamaru rolled his eyes. "Of course that's the great news." Shikamaru stood up from his seat and stretched. "I should sleep in a bed instead of in this chair. Want to get some dinner?"

"Of course! I'll meet you at the barbeque down at the fourth alley at the east gate. The one that has the broken sign. They have buy one get one half off pork every Thursday!" Choji said as he started to drool. "I'll go save us a seat."

Shikamaru watched as Choji ran out of the hospital room. He shook his head and turned his attention to his father. He walked over to the sleeping man and placed a hand in his pocket. He pulled out a small purple medallion that had a triangle in the center. A small dot was above the center of each side of the triangle. He placed the medallion on a tray next to his father's bed.

'Now I know why you had the Shadow Medallion,' Shikamaru thought. 'It seems our family lineage extends back to the shadow folk.' Shikamaru closed his eyes. 'But why has this all surfaced now? And why can't I stop thinking in this stupid language?'

The afternoon sun shined down on a dark skinned man with blond hair and goatee. His eyes were covered by oval sunglasses and he wore a white forehead protector. On his left cheek was a tattoo of a bull's horn. He wore a white flak jacket hung over his left shoulder with one strap with no shirt, leaving his muscular chest and arms exposed. His neck was covered by a long white scarf and on his back were two red handled swords and a large bandaged object with a hilt sticking out of it.

"We've been walking to the Stone village for three days, we'll get in thanks to the help of my big bro A," The man rhymed. "You're lucky he liked the gift you gave me Killer B, saving my life and your sword Kisame!"

The large blue-grey man in a blue cloak following B groaned in pain and annoyance.

"You said my name wrong just to work your stupid rhymes," Kisame said as he clutched his head. "Out of everyone in the world I could have gotten in good with, it had to be your annoying ass."

"Don't hate 'cuz you can't appreciate the talent I have, it's innate!" B shouted back.

"You're rhymes are shit!" Kisame yelled. "I could do it better but I know it'd just encourage you to keep doing it! Can you even say something that isn't a rhyme?"

"Yes," B said with a cheeky grin.

'I'mma kill him,' Kisame thought. 'Blast him in the back of the head with my strongest jutsu and I'm free!'

'No you don't kiddo!' a woman's voice called out in Kisame's head. 'You're supposed to be a good guy now! Stop trying to disappoint me even more than you already have!'

'Ah screw you,' Kisame thought as he gripped the medallion in his pocket. 'You and the stupid goddesses can stop me from doing fun stuff but that doesn't mean I'm gonna stop thinking about it!'

'At least it's progress,' the woman replied. 'If it helps, he annoys me too.'

'Can I curse him to stop him from rhyming?'

'No! That's an abuse of your powers,' her voice paused for a moment. 'Although it is tempting.'

Kisame groaned again. 'I can't even do anything cool with magic. All I get outta this saving the world deal is constant bitching.'

'Hey I had to come back from my peaceful rest to deal with an ungrateful excuse for a Zora like you! It seems like anyone can be a Sage nowadays.'

'Having you stuck in my head ain't exactly ideal either grandma Ruto,' Kisame thought. 'Now that I think about it, at least I'm not stuck in B like the eight tailed beast is. It's the little things in life I guess.'

Kisame gave a toothy grin which turned into a grimace as B spoke once more.

"You did save me so I'll do you a favor and try not to rhyme," B said. "I still don't understand why you saved me from that red eyed black haired guy but I didn't worry about it at the time."

"You just said you wouldn't rhyme!" Kisame yelled. "Hell that one is so over used I think everyone has used it!"

"I said try," B said. "But c'mon and tell me why you decided to be a good guy!"

"Long story short I got beat up by an old pervert," Kisame said.

B stopped and looked at Kisame. He then turned around and started laughing. He looked back over at Kisame and doubled over in laughter. "Big bad shark man can't handle an old guy?" B's laughter slowly turned to small chuckles. "We've got a long way to go, might as well tell the long story and try and save some face!"

Kisame growled in annoyance. "Fine long story it is. I was following a lead with my old partner that one of the tailed beast hosts was making a ruckus. We were leaving this town with a fancy red-light district and whiel we were walking through a forest and bam! I get tackled out of nowhere." Kisame rubbed his chest and frowned. "Pretty sure I broke a couple ribs too. Anyways, this old dude with really ugly warts and two toads on his shoulders started to punch me. At this point I didn't know what happened and was a bit dazed. His punches were super strong and when I tried to dodge him he still hit me. I tried to use my," Kisame paused and glared at the bandaged weapon on Killer B's back. "I mean your sword, but it started to turn to stone with every attack I blocked. Next thing I know I got a piece of metal slammed into my face. I went unconscious and when I woke up I saw it was the toad sage Jiraiya!"

"Jiraiya?!" B yelled, "The legendary author of make out paradise? His writings have become many men's vice!"

Kisame's eyebrow twitched. "Yes that Jiraiya."

"If he's the legendary perv that took you down, it's not as bad as a random old dude who took you to town!"

"Fuckin' hell I thought you said you'd stop with those shit rhymes!" Kisame yelled.

B shrugged. "The more you talk, the less I rhyme."

Kisame shoulders slumped. "That's fair. Okay so after I got the shit beaten out of me, I woke up and saw Jiraiya. He said something about me realizing who I am and that I had some duty to find a guy. I kinda just nodded my head and went along with it so he wouldn't punch me more."

"Sounds like he had a few screws loose," B said.

"I thought so at first too," Kisame said. "Turns out he was right. So after he left me beaten and bruised, I got up and saw my partner just kinda standing in a small clearing. Asshole didn't even bother to help me in the fight. To make it worse, he was acting super happy and depressed at the same time. I mean normally he's just a brick wall but that's better than dealing with him being moody. Like boohoo you killed your family. So what? I'd kill my family for morning practice. Nothing gets the blood running like a good familicide." Kisame stroked his chin in thought. "I guess regicide would be better, but we don't really have kings anymore."

"You really like killing don't you?" B said with a tinge of worry in his voice.

"What's not to like?" Kisame asked. He froze and closed his eyes as his head burst into pain. "But I can't really do it anymore unless it's for good reason. And not like actual good reasons like someone pissed you off or you're bored. No it has to be to save someone or fighting evil dudes. It sucks."

B chuckled nervously. "Why exactly can't you kill anyone?"

"Well that's part of the whole story. You see it turns out that whole story of one of you jinchuriki walkin' about was just to lure us there. I was pissed that we had our time wasted and I got my ass handed to me and to make matters worse some punks decided to cash in on our bounties. So Itachi takes the three on the left."

"Itachi? You mean that Uchiha kid?" B asked.

"Yea he was my partner. Really quiet and boring. Good at fighting though. Back to the story. He took the three on the left, I took the five on the right. Used good old Samehada to shave 'em up to bits." Kisame said as he looked fondly at the bandaged weapon on B's back. "Well after that bit of fun we made camp. And while I was sleeping I was visited by the most terrifying creature I've ever met."

B raised an eyebrow and listened intently.

"My grandmother," Kisame said with a slight tremble.

B stumbled and fell to the ground. "Your grandma? That can't be right!"

Kisame shook his head slowly. "Oh no she is absolutely terrifying. When she came to me in my sleep she was super pissed and kept going on about how big of a disappointment I was and how I was ignoring my divine duty," Kisame said while rolling his eyes. "I didn't give a shit but then all of a sudden three golden figures appeared behind her and the next thing I remember was the fury of the gods collapsing on me like a divine tsunami," Kisame shuddered. "My head hurt, my body couldn't move, and all I could do was lay there in fear. To say the least it fuckin' sucked."

B stared at Kisame with his mouth slightly open.

"I woke up in a cold sweat and tried to grab Samehada, but the lil bastard wouldn't let me touch him. Then in my head my grandma started yelling about how I'm on probation and that she was enjoying being dead and blah, blah, blah. Now whenever I do something she doesn't approve she gives me a headache and makes it so I can't move. Hell I can't even use some new abilities of mine unless she lets me!"

"Did your grandma like you when she was alive?" B asked.

"Well here's the thing. She's my grandma but like from a really long time ago," Kisame said. "The worst part about this whole thing is I found out I'm the last survivor of my kind. Turns out I'm from an entire species of fish people. Grandma said that over time we evolved to be more human like, but she doesn't know why there were so few of us. On the bright side I got more shark features than I did dolphin or manta ray features."

B rubbed his chin. 'Gyuki have you heard about of this old fish race?' B thought. 'You're old enough, you could give your knowledge a showcase.'

A strong voice replied in B's mind. 'I agree with this Kisame person, your rhymes are rather lacking lately. Now for the fish race, I've heard rumors and legends of a type of sea people, but that is way before my time.'

'Before your time? You've been around forever!' B thought.

'If it's older than me it seems whatever this Kisame person is involved with is pre-chakra,' Gyuki replied.

"You good there B?" Kisame asked.

B gave a thumbs up. "Yea I was just asking Gyuki if he had heard about your people. He said that he heard legends but it's before his time."

"Really?" Kisame said in bewilderment. "Grandma said it's been a while since she's been around, but I didn't know she was that old."

"So how has this lead to us going to the land of stone?" B questioned.

"Well after I was awoken I started having memories of past lives, including my grandma's. She said that we were tasked to find other people like me," Kisame paused.

'I probably shouldn't label myself as a sage,' Kisame thought. 'Hell I'm not sure why I'm telling him so much. Then again it's nice to have someone actually talk with me and not stand around depressed.'

"But seeing how I was part of Akatsuki it's kinda difficult for me to just waltz around looking for people," Kisame continued. "So I started keeping an eye out for opportunities to earn favor with either one of the kages or daimyo. When me and Kakuzu, that threaded freak, found you last week, I saw an opportunity and so I saved you. Guess I got lucky that you're the Raikage's brother!" Kisame glared at Samehada. "Although it annoys me Samehada accepts you but not me."

B chuckled. "Well at least you are now with the Cloud Village! So how do you know the person you're looking for is in the land of stone?"

"I don't," Kisame said. "The only thing I have going for me is my grandma saying we're going the right way."

"Even if we don't find them this is a fun adventure!" B said.

Kisame chuckled. "Thanks for listening. I never knew how much I needed someone who would actually listen and talk with me."

B gave a flashy smile and two thumbs up.

A/N2: Writing rhymes is not my thing, but B is awesome. Struggles man.
