Twenty minutes later, Rachel, Kate, and Tim were waiting for Gibbs and the Admiral in an interrogation room. Tim was pacing the floor nervously.
"Would you stop that? You have nothing to be nervous about. He can't hurt you anymore. He can't hurt any of us anymore," Kate told her brother.
Tim laughed humorlessly. "Do you know how many times I've thought that over the years? He always seems to find a way."
"That was when we were children and later when we had things to hide. That's over now. He has no power over us anymore," Rachel said. She couldn't really blame her brother for being anxious. History did tell him to be. However, she really did believe this time would be different. Everything was out in the open. There was nothing the Admiral could do anymore.
"Yeah, we'll see," Tim said. He couldn't help but be worried. Every time he thought he had the upper hand, his father seemed to pull the rug out from under him. He was just afraid that would happen again.
Just then, they all heard the door start to open. Kate and Rachel immediately stood up from their seats and Tim stopped pacing. They all watched as Gibbs appeared and none too gently escorted the Admiral inside.
John stopped dead in his tracks when he saw who was there. Not only was his son and his stepdaughter there, his other stepdaughter was there as well. "What the hell is this? An intervention?"
"No," Gibbs said before roughly dragging him to the table and forcing him to sit down. "Interventions are for people in need of help. You're beyond help and no one in this room cares enough to help you anyway."
"Well, then what the hell are they doing here?" John asked.
"They're here to watch you finally get what's coming to you. You've spent a lifetime abusing and torturing these three young people. You've made them feel powerless," Gibbs said before placing a hand on the table and leaning over the man in front of him in the most intimidating manner he could. "Now it's your turn. It's your turn to be intimidated by someone with the upper hand."
The Admiral laughed. "And you think that's you? You're nothing but a pencil pusher. I'm an Admiral in the United States Navy."
"No, what you are is a worthless bastard who had to torture kids to make yourself feel like a man. You thinking raping your stepdaughter makes you a man?" Gibbs asked in a menacing voice. He wanted to tear this son of a bitch to shreds. There was nothing he hated more than an abuser, and Admiral McGee was as abusive as they came.
John glared daggers at Kate. "If she told you that, she's lying."
Gibbs stood up and chuckled slightly. "It's funny. You're staring at Kate, but I never said she was the one who accused you of rape."
John shrugged. "Lucky guess. It made sense. This is obviously an attempt to get my son to hate me. She's always gone out of her way to come between us."
"Oh, he's right about that," Kate admitted freely. "I have made it my life's mission to protect my brother from him. But I never had to lie to do it. The truth about you is much more damaging than anything I could possibly make up."
"He's my son! You had no right to interfere!" John yelled.
"And that's why you went after her, isn't it? Because she dared to go against you," Tim all but growled.
John glared at his son. "You remember who you're talking to, Boy. I can make your life a living hell!"
"Don't think you can intimidate him now. He's a grown man. You can do nothing to him now," Rachel said.
"Is that a fact, Timothy?" John asked with an evil smirk.
"Hey!" Gibbs yelled causing the man to turn to him. "You don't talk to him! You're done with him! You're done with all of them!"
John glared at Gibbs. "He's my son. I'll talk to him when and however I want."
Gibbs loomed over the Admiral intimidatingly once more. "Your son? Your son can't stand the sight of you. Your son thought that the best way to get away from you was to take his own life."
John looked at his son in surprise. Apparently his boy had told his Boss what he'd done. That certainly shot his plans to hell. He had nothing left to blackmail him with
Gibbs stood up and sat down across from the man. "What was it like? What went through your head when you watched your own son shoot himself in the head?" He certainly knew what such a thing would've done to him. If Kelly had lived and he walked in on her shooting herself because of him, it would've driven him so mad that he would've taken a gun to his own head.
John leaned forward to get closer to Gibbs. "You wanna know what I thought? What a coward."
Gibbs glared daggers at the man in front of him. If he could even be called a man. No man, no father would act like this. McGee Senior wasn't a man or a father. He didn't deserve either of those titles. "You call your son a coward? No, you're the coward. You're the worst kind of coward at that. You're the kind that goes after women and children because he's too afraid to take on men."
"How dare you?"
"How dare you?!" Gibbs bellowed. "How dare you treat your own child like such garbage?! He's ten times better than you could ever hope to be. Although, how he ended up that way is a wonder."
Tim couldn't help but blush. He'd never heard his boss talk about him like that.
"Actually, it's not a wonder. It's because of her," Gibbs said as he pointed to Kate. "She was your son's real parent. She was the one who turned him into man, and it's a good thing. Lord only knows how he would've turned out if it weren't for her.
"She destroyed him! She turned him into a pathetic little coward!" John yelled.
Gibbs was staring at him with a death glare when he heard the door open followed by Tony's voice.
"Boss."
"What?" Gibbs asked through gritted teeth.
"We've got something," Tony said.
Gibbs motioned for Tim and Kate to come before standing up and following Tony out of the room.
