Escape from Gotham/Team Bishop MIA

Gotham City

The arguments that those two could have would make anybody run out of the room and lucky for us they kept each other busy enough for us to get out. Their trip back to the hotel was like a prison escape. Batman and Shadow fought it out back in the hotel but they must have stopped when somebody noticed that we were gone. The warriors ravens flew over head and some of the airborne members flew over the city in an organized search pattern. The Batjet could be seen flying through the air from time to time, but our team was split up.

Half of the team was moving across the rooftops while the other half was trekking through dangerous territory, the sewers. Before they had gone in, Huntress warned them that Killer Croc had recently disappeared from Arkham and hasn't been heard from since. This with everything else going on made the situation worse.

The sewer team with Sub-Zero, Talon, and Killer X was now under the financial district of the city, just a few blocks away from being under the hotel. From there we could be safely teleported back to base by Raven. In the mean time, I went ahead and called in for a quick port back to base.

(San Francisco)

When I walked out of that sanctuary I felt different. I didn't know how to describe it better other than saying that the pain that I felt was gone. It was a relief.

The storm had subsided and the moon came out. A cool breeze swept through the street in front of the church, I enjoyed it. For once the small things felt enjoyable. In the past I would always neglect the little details that made a night or day wonderful. All that that I focused on were the narrow tunnels that kept me focused on the mission at hand. This is what I was taught in my captivity and not too often did I deviate from my training.

The old man back there offered me a ticket to Phoenix, but I turned him down. Where our HQ was located was somewhere hidden and going through an airport would be sticking my neck out too far.

"I guess its time to call up steve."

Raven's black aura swallowed me, Archer, and the Huntress in a small black dome. The chill of the darkness only lasted a second, and then we were home. Miranda ran across the room and hugged my neck.

"I'm glad you made it!" she said.

"What about the other half of your team?" Steve asked.

Raven held a hand up and went into a trance once more. Across the room another dome appeared and the rest of the squad had arrived.

"So," Jessica paused, "i'm guessing that tall, dark, and gorgeous over there is Talon, but who is the lady in the purple?"

"I am the Huntress for your information. Now who are you?"

"Well, i'm Jessica. Over there is Miranda. Big, tall, and scaly is Drax. Then there is Raven, Stephen, Emily, Temarius, Archer, Madison , Hunter, and Kevin and that about covers all of us here at the base."

The two guests took one look at the crew standing around them and marveled. They were such a small team and yet they managed to pull such a job off; it almost made the huntress cry, almost.

"So, where is your leader?" said Talon. "I can tell that he wasn't with us because I've heard of the Red Crosshairs."

"He has a reputation, thats for sure." said stephen.

"I didn't hear about him from word of mouth. The only way that I could know about him was from checking out social networks."

Miranda scratched her head in confusion. "What?"

"What i'm saying is that civilians aren't the only people who use social networks. Mercenaries, villains, anti-heroes, all use some social media website and as I could tell, your friend is popular amongst the villains of Gotham."

"He was with the Shadow Warriors for a while." said Miranda. "Now he has us."

"So when is he coming back?" asked the huntress.

A beeping noise came from Stephen's ear. Miranda recognized the tone, which could only mean one thing...Marcas was coming back.

Stephen teleported out of the room, throwing some papers here and there. Another rift appeared in the same spot and he had returned, except he had another individual right next to him.

The tall man stretched out his arms and puffed out his chest in relief.

"I will never get used to teleporting, period." he said in a russian accent.

Marcas looked at the rest of the room and saw the rest of crew, as well as the two new comers that were standing near Miranda. His smile slowly fell from his face when noticed something.

"What's wrong marcas?" Archer asked.

The Russian paused for a moment and continued looking around.

"Where is Slade? What happened to his team?"

(Crate, location unknown)

It was dark, cold, and it smelt awful.

...

I could hear rain pinging against the metal shell of this damned thing, and freedom could be so close, but these restraints are stronger than anything i've ever faced. It would probably take years to make scrape, a mark even.

The damn aliens knew how to imprison people. First thing they did was to separate us from one another. It was smart to separate a leader from his pack, otherwise he might find a way to escape from danger. Of course these freaks have weapons that could burn right through me, there would be no point in risking my life without risking the others.

The others...the whole team...

I wish that I could have acted fast enough but I didn't and now we were going to some forsaken place, probably where they crash landed. I've ben trained to resist interrogation but the thought of what they would do when we got there filled my head.

It made me angry knowing how weak I am right now. I feel powerless not being able to break the cuffs on me. Maybe they were made to make the prisoner feel powerless. If so, then they were doing their job and well.

I wish that I knew where the others were...

BINGO!

Back when I was still down for the count, thanks to terra, Raven was able to pick up on my brainwaves while entering Robin's mind. The boy thought that it was just him going insane, but he wasn't. If I can try and contact Raven, I might be able to save me and the rest of the team.

(HQ)

Everybody stood by as Miranda pulled up the satellite images from Brazil. None of them gave assurance or promises of what had happened to Slade and his team. Since the only two satellites covering the region flew over the target area one hour after the other, it felt pointless.

In other words, one image showed them in the jungle, the next didn't.

Marcas was staring at the screen hoping to find something that resembled people, but it was hopeless. The whole team was starting to feel what their leader was feeling, sorrow.

"This is headquarters to Bishop, come in Bishop." Miranda repeated again and again.

No response came...

The only sound coming through was the Static that filled the speakers. Silence from everyone except Miranda covered the entirety of the command center.

"GAAAAAAAAH!" yelled Raven.

She grasped the sides of her head as if somebody had struck her. Her knees gave in and she fell to the floor. Emily and Stephen were the first responders at her side. Opening a compartment in her hand, Emily stuck a sensor to the side of Raven's head and started running scans. The results shocked her.

"What's happening to her?" Stephen asked.

"She's...I don't know how to explain this any better, but Slade is trying to contact her through her mind."

"What? I didn't know that Slade had psychic powers!"

"No, he does not have the ability to do that, but an easy explanation would be a past connection with him."

Marcas grinned, "I've read the files on the Titans. She had a connection with him when Robin had a mental episode."

"Are you able to trace the brainwaves?" asked Miranda.

"I will not be able to trace the source of the waves, though Raven can."Emily replied

Stephen raised Raven's head a little and looked her in the eyes and said, "Baby, can you point out to where the source is? Can you find Slade?"

Raven nodded.

Temarius walked over to a filing cabinet next to Miranda's station and pulled out a dry-erase board and a marker. Stephen threw a questioning look at the man and it subsided. Once Raven had gotten the marker in her hand she started writing out the things that Slade could sense.

Waves crashing against a surface.

There was a constant rocking.

Seagulls sung overhead.

"Okay, we know they are out at sea, but where?" Drax asked.

Raven closed her eyes to concentrate.

She saw the earth, then she focused in.

There was Africa and Southern Europe in view.

She then saw a lone ship pulling into port. It had many containers from all over the world. The one that she focused on came from Brazil. it had to be where they were keeping Slade.

Suddenly her eyes opened, makig Steve jump and a few others as well.

"They were brought to a port on the west coast of Africa. I saw a sign that mentioned something about the People's Republic of Konglomo."

Miranda's fingers danced across the keyboard. Lucky for them a military satellite made by Wayne Enterprises was in a locked position above the African continent. All it would take was a few minor adjustments and...

"I found the port you were describing. I see one ship docked there and judging from the looks of it, they are about to unload the cargo."

The whole team gathered to watch the picture by picture series of events that was unfolding. One picture picked up on three figures leaving the boat. The one in the middle through Drax into a frenzy.

"I know him." he said, anger seething from his voice. "That is Kronos, the one who killed my sister!"

To Be Continued...

Short chapter? Long Hiatus? WHATS UP WITH YOU!

Well, I lost the inspiration to continue this story a while back. I felt like I should have added something new down the line, but I just could not bring myself to do so, soooooo. Now I am going to try to post more new chapters until I finish up the story which will hopefully be in the next month or so.

Right now I have finals coming up and papers to type up so my time on here is limited. Also my laptop rolled over and played dead so I have to fix that now as well.

Thank you all for hanging on for dear life to this story because its not dead yet!

P.S. Check out my newest story The Arkham Diagnosis. The chapters may be short, but the story will be good!
