Elsa

The breeze is warm on my cheeks.

It blows in a sweet scent, caressing my body, and sending my hair laughing. I pause when I see the colour. It's a brilliant red like a sunset, the same colour as my mother's and Anna's.

Everything's murky, and fuzzy at the edges. I try to grab onto a passing tree branch, but it slips through my fingers. I laugh it off though. Nothing seems wrong in this wonderful place.

"Elsa?"

I pause with baited breath. My feet move automatically as I turn, and she's there. Smling at me in a beautiful green gown, not a day older than I remember her. I take a tentative step forward. "Anna?"

And then we're hugging because she's the one thing in this place that I do seem capable of holding onto. I'm laughing and crying and smiling all at the same time because she's here, and nothing can change that.

Only, it feels wrong.

I finally gain control over myself again, and pull back with a slight frown. "This isn't real, is it?"

Anna shrugs in that careless way she manages. "Not technically. But you are here. I never thought I'd see you again. Look at your hair!"

"I know," I find myself blushing as I twirl a finger in the fiery red locks. "I kind of like it."

"Well it suits you," Anna assures me with a smile. "So tell me. How'd you finally get here?"

My frown deepens. "I don't know. I just sort of woke up here."

Anna laughs. "Not here in limbo silly. I mean how did you die?"

The word stops me short. "D-die?"

"Mm-mhn," Anna nods with a smile, not noticing my discomfort. "I always figured you'd go out with a bang. Did you fall off a cliff? Get ran over by a horse? Kiss a squirrel?"

"What?" I look at her. "No! I... I..."

To my surprise, Anna just grabs my hand gently. "Don't worry. The memories are always foggy for the first bit, but they should clear up in a few years. So, tell me what the world's like after all this time. Do they still have chocolate?"

I can't help a laugh despite the overwhelming situation. "Of course they have chocolate. Well, on Midgard that is. I've yet to find chocolate on Asgard though."

"Asgard?" Anna stares at me curiously. "What's that? And what's Midgard?"

I'm suddenly aware of how I'm speaking. "Midgard's Earth, I mean. Remeber the tales Grandpa used to tell us as children about Norse Mythology, it's all real Anna! You won't believe it, but Loki's my father!"

"Loki as in Jotun Loki?" Anna asks. "Is that why you had ice powers? Which I'm still mad at you for not telling me, by the way."

"Yeah," I wince. "And I am sorry about that. And for freezing your kingdom."

Anna merely waved it off. "It was fine in the end. Kristoff and I became pro skaters, let me tell you that."

I can't help my laugh. But slowly, it fades. Anna must be able to tell.

"What's wrong? Aren't you happy to be here?"

"What? Oh, don't get me wrong Anna, it's marvelous seeing you," I start hesitantly, biting my lip, "But this isn't right. Something-" I cut off, trying to remember what was happening before I arrived here. "If only-"

"Careful sister, you might strain yourself."

"Hela?" Another smile crosses my face as I turn to the girl behind me. I engluf her in a hug. "What are you doing here?"

At that she raises a brow. "Your memories really must be jumbled if you forgot that this is my realm," She gestures around us. "Although admittedly a nicer part of it."

Her words stop me short. "Wait. So I actually-"

"Died?" Hela cuts me off. "Technically speaking. Unfortunately I can't keep you here for long."

"Why not?" Anna frown from beside me.

"Because father won't let her stay," Hela looks at me. "You may have been wounded mortally, but that's nothing he can't and won't fix."

At her words, I'm suddenly aware of the ache in my chest, the dull throb which seems to grow with every passing moment since Hela arrived. Anna flickers, and I grasp onto her arm to steady the image. She frowns and raises a hand to my forhead, only for her skin to flicker and sizzle into nothingness asit nears me.

"What's happening?" I turn to Hela with wide eyes, as she's the only one not moving. She smiles sympathetically at me.

"He's saving you. And unless you come back with me right now, I'm afraid it's going to hurt alot more than this has to."

I look at Hela's out stretched hand, and then back to Anna. Her green eyes stare at me widely, begging me to stay. I feel a tear slip down my cheek. "I'm sorry Anna," I whisper. "I miss you terribly."

"Oh. Alright," She tries to smile, but I can see the tears filling her eyes. I go to touch the gray streak in her hair, only for her image to fuzz out where my fingers near her.

"I love you," I promise. "And I'll see you again."

I turn as the tears finally pour down her cheeks. Everything is flickering like Anna now, except for me and Hela. The pain in my chest is excrutiating, and that's when I realize that it's not in my chest, but rather my core.

And then I grab Hela's hand.

I sit up and gasp for breath.

Lights, noises, sounds, and scents evade me all at once as I push at whatever's on my chest, attempting to gulp greedily at the air. I feel whatever's resting on my chest lift, along with the pain it was inflicting. Something cradles my head and lifts it ever so slightly, and I'm more than thankful when a trickle of water is put down my throat.

Everything snaps back into focus as I open my eyes. Thanos. The fight. Loki trying to save me. Thanos almost killing Loki. And then the unbearable pain as the energy from the sphere was released when I broke it.

"D-dad?" I croak, my eyes finally focusing on his. His hands are red, and face is wet, but he still smiles when he sees me.

"Elsa," He breathes happily. And then he's pulling me into a warm embrace, and despite the pain that screams throughout my back, and the elephant it feels like is sitting on my chest, I don't complain. Because unlike my hug with Anna, this feels right. This feels safe.

"What happened?" I finally gasp out, my eyes scanning the courtyard. All sorts of people are looking at me with worry and relief. The Avengers, that Nova. Charlie and Ryan, and Eilonwy and a young man who must be Taran. Not to mention the countless others that make my head spin.

"You saved my life," Loki says with a rueful smile. "Thanos got away," He shoots a disdainful look at what looks like a broken ice statue. "Somehow managed to transport himself away within the ice before he could be fully frozen. The infinity stone disintagrated, and will probably take a while before it reforms in a new shape. THanos's minions surrendered after they saw their leader bailed."

I try to sit up, only to wince at my back. Sigyn suddenly appears from over Loki's shoulder. "At ease, Elsa. While Loki was able to heal your core, he isn't exactly skilled in physical healing arts. Until we can get you back to Asgard's medical halls, you must minimize your movement."

"Then let us go!" I'm surprised to see Thor smile at me. "Elsa's bravery shall be sung about all throughout Asgard!"

"And Prydain!" An old man smiles at me. He has a harp hung over his shoulder. "I'm Flewdeur Flam. Elsa shall surely have a ballad worthy of Taran himself!" The boy beside Eilonwy blushes but says nothing.

And as Thor calls out to Heimdall, and we're all transported back to our realms, I can't help but feel at peace, because I'm finally where I'm supposed to be.

I finally have my dad with me.

Wow. I can't believe we're here. The last chapter. Don't worry though, an epilogue will be on it's way within the next few days :) I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who supported this fic, and got it this far. When I first started this story over a year ago, I expected it to be about ten chapters, probably around 30 000 words. I fun little winter story. And yet it turned into so much more. So thank you :)

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed the last chapter, and be on the lookout for the epilogue.

Later!
