Author's Note: And thus be begin the second part of the Chunin exams, and what a part it is. Read, Reveiw and Favorite!
Atsuko's entire team along with most of the Chunin exams participants were ordered to report to the docks on the Eastern most part of the village, which they were quick to note overlooked a large open sea with the island in the distance. On a soap box platform Atsuko saw the blond haired instructor that was helping out with the first exam earlier, standing in front of a table that was filled completely with paper work.
"Congratulations Chunin examines! You all passed the first part of the exam!" The woman gave a slow clap of her hands, not the joy filled and energetic variety for when you legitimately want to thank someone, but rather the sarcastic and condescending variety. "Now you're all probably wondering what this big mess of paper here is all about?" The woman said indicating the large amount of paper work that was on the table near her. "Now yah see, I'm legally obligated to inform you all that the Ocean of Death is quite dangerous. It's full of all sorts of things that just love to eat little brats like you for breakfast lunch and dinner, and the only thing that is between you and them are those!" The Blond woman stated pointing to over a hundred dinghies that were docked on the water. "So before we let you go and join them for lunch we gotta make yah all sign those papers saying that it's not our fault you dumb asses got eaten. If yah's do decide to chicken out and not go in then you and your team will all be disqualified from the rest of the exams! But as a consolation prize I had all of these hats made for you all!" The Woman said indicating a series of crates that looked suspiciously like they were filled with Chicken shaped hats.
"Talk about mean! This Woman is doing everything in her power to belittle and humiliate us!" Atsuko noted sounding a little bit upset by the woman's antics.
"We're going into a place called the 'Ocean of Death' Atsuko if you can't stand a little bit of teasing then you have no business being here." Shiro stated and Kenta, fresh from the table, passed him and Atsuko some of the paper work.
"No I won't do it!" At the sound of that cry everyone looked at the street, where Karai and Domoi were trying to yank Zed off of a light post by his legs. "You can't make me!"
"You already went toe to toe with a gigantic killer octopus and won you idiot! Are you telling me that you're scared of a little bit of water!" Karai shouted as she used both her arms and her legs to pull on Zed.
"Have you seen what the inside of your stomach looks like? I have and I'm never going to see it again!" Zed yelled at the top of his lungs, now visibly bending the light post with the strength by which he was gripping it.
"Is that it Zed you dumb ass!? You don't wanna get into the boat because you'll get motion sick!?" Suddenly Karai ran off and grabbed the permission slip from the table and brought it to Zed and smashed it into the light post that he had been hugging. "Because of you I know what the inside of your stomach tastes like! I didn't come all the way out here and go through all of that for nothing so sign the damn paper already!"
"If I might be bold to interrupt." The trio from Kumogakure looked over at the instructor who was currently twirling a chicken hat around on her finger. "If that's the case then you can simply walk or swim there using the Water walking technique. If push comes to shove then we can just knock you out for the trip."
"Excellent idea!" Suddenly Karai knocked Zed out with her elbow, before she took out a kunai knife and slashed his thumb with it before putting his bloodied thumb print on the dotted line. "I assume that this will do!?" Karai stated handing the instructor both her's, Zed's and Domoi's completed paper work.
"I didn't see anything!" The instructor replied back warmly.
With that humiliating display over with the hundreds of Genin all began the process of loading their stuff onto their boats.
"Attention future shark bait!" The blonde haired instructor shouted while she stood on the exact middle of the very far edge of the docks. "Those of you to the left of me are all carrying these 'Scrolls of Heaven' in your Boats!" The instructor stated holding up her left arm with said scroll in her hand. "Those of you to the right of me all have these 'Scrolls of Earth' in your boats!" The Instructor stated holding her right arm with said scroll in her hand. "You will need both of these scrolls to complete the examination. For those you who can't do math that amounts to about half of you getting knocked out of the exam. Until such a time where the examination period has expired and you are on the island at the center of this Ocean you will not open, tamper or any other kinds of screwing around shenanigans with these scrolls, doing so will result in your immediate disqualification from the exams! Am I understood!?" The instructor stated seriously to the Genin Army that had been assembled. The Genin gave a collective 'Aye' to the instructor whom just smiled Darkly. "Hit it Suigetsu!"
At the instructor's instruction the white haired man in question appeared on the docks, he dived into the water, then turned into water, before he suddenly popped back out again as a hundred foot tall giant that immediately turned into water and created a tidal wave that sent all of the Genin careening off into the ocean. "Are they insane!?" Atsuko shouted as she held on for dear life. A couple ours later the group were all in the oceanic equivalent to the middle of no where.
"Is everyone alright?" Shiro asked as he pulled himself into sitting position on the boat.
"That Zed guy is right." Shiro looked down at Atsuko who was sprawled out on the bottom of the boat looking quite pale. "Boats are terrifying!"
"Right no time to lose!" Suddenly Kenta used the water walking technique to jump onto the surface of the water before he took out a rope and tied one end around the end of the boat and the other around his waist. "Lets go-ohoahh!" Shiro interrupted Kenta's antics by pulling him by his collar back into the boat.
"Slow down you speed crazed knucklehead! Even if we did know which way we were going we gotta get a Earth Scroll first!" Shiro yelled while he held up the team's Heaven Scroll.
"Ow!" While Shiro and Kenta argued Atsuko had pulled herself into a seated position, she had just slapped herself on her neck on account of a mosquito biting her there before she looked on at the Horizon spotting a column of smoke rising into the air.
"Guys. I don't know what this means but there's a big column of smoke coming out of the horizon right now!" Atsuko stated pointing at the column of smoke in question with her finger.
"Smoke means fire and fire means land can you check it out with your Byakugan?" Shiro asked as he let go of Kenta.
Atsuko zoomed in with her Byakugan and saw a adult man tending the fire on the shore of the island.
"Oh someone's working on the fire on a island! Oh it must be the island that we're suppose to find!" Atsuko shouted in surprise as she banged her fist on her hand.
"That's all well and good and all but there are two problems between us and there. The first is that we, like everyone else, must retrieve a second scroll from one of the other teams, who will also be coming after us for our scroll too. The second problem is that we have company." As Shiro said that the group looked around and saw that they were being circled by shark fins.
"Lovely." Atsuko stated with just a hint of sarcasm.
As Atsuko got up to help fight off the sharks the swatted form of the fly suddenly regenerated and flew off.
Elsewhere Konoha's infamous Ino Shika Cho trio were passing the time on their boat ride while Choza did the bulk of the work rowing Shikai was confined to her wheel chair working on the part for another one of her puppets and Inoue was sketching. What all three of them had in common was the fact that they were seemingly oblivious to the three sets of eyes that was on them.
"Confirmed, target has a Earth scroll, prepare to attack." Suddenly three individuals dressed in the red colored clothing of Iwagakure leaped out of the water and attacked the group with Kunai knives.
Shikai suddenly threw her screw driver behind her with expert precision and stabbed one of her would be attackers in the leg. Another soon found himself the victim of a mauling by Inoue's sketched lion. The third however successfully threw his explosive tag lined Kunai at the boat which blew in two, destroying Inoue's ink lion in the process.
"They were a lot tougher then they allowed us to believe at the hotel. Still, now we just have to fish out their scroll and the second round of the Chunin exams will be ours!" The apparent leader of the troop stated with a joy filled tone of voice.
"Damn cripple." The Genin that attempted to blind side Shikai pulled her screw driver out of his leg before he spotted her body floating in the water. "I'm probably gonna have to drop out of the next round because of you!" The disatisfied Ninja wound his good foot back into kicking position. "So eat THIS!" The Genin growled be he landed a solid blow on Shikai's un-moving body. "YEOUCH!" Pain visibly shaking up his leg into his body before he started to jump into the air on one foot while holding his broken toe with both hands. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU MADE OF!?"
An excellent question the leader picked up Shikai by her neck and held her face to face, at which point in he realized that they didn't attack a row boat full of people but rather a but that was full of puppets.
"IT'S A TRAP!" Too little, too late.
The three Genin were suddenly scooped up by a giant wooden platform and had a large dome encompassed them, not realizing what was going on immediately all three of them were knocked out by anesthetic gas before Choza came in wearing a gas mask over his features and after but a moment of searching he found the group's scroll of Heaven.
"We got it Shikai, and it's a Heaven scroll! Not like the earth scroll we got from those other guys." Choza explained while he held the scroll in question up.
"Good work Choza, Inoue bag em." Shikai stated over a small communication device.
At Shikai's command Inoue walked over to the fallen Genin and sealed them into a scroll, before all of the gas seemed to be suck out of the room. Choza and Inoue both walked through a door and met up with Shikai who was driving the submersible puppet that the group was using.
"Now we got one each, looks like your plan to sucker people into attacking us paid off Shikai." Choza stated as he carelessly tossed the scroll into a bag with a Earth scroll.
"We will be continuing to eliminated rival teams gentlemen. The Chunin exams are quite ruthless, the more rivals that we eliminate now, the fewer that we'll be facing in the future." Shikai explained, just a hint of ruthlessness in her voice.
"I don't mind, only sixteen people are suppose to go onto the next round anyway, and it's not like we're hurting them like this. We're just putting them somewhere they can't hurt themselves or anyone else." Choza explained trying to rationalize their otherwise heartless tactics.
"That said we will be avoiding the stronger contenders here. If we can't take them without destroying this puppet that is the heart of our current strategy then we're better off avoiding them." Shikai stated with again cold rationalized ruthlessness the group went looking for another ship to sink.
