Ruby felt a warm wet sensation against her chest and hot breath on her skin as she lay there in bed relaxing in bed just wanting to sleep the day away. Except this sensation was followed by the feeling of a tongue on her skin sending some small chills through her body which made Ruby curious.
"Mmmm...Hey who the hell is doing….that….?" she sleepily mumbled as she slowly opened her eyes feeling her normally pale face turn flushed red. Dogmeat stood on top of her on the bed wagging his tail which from what the young woman could gather he had come in to wake her up and had suddenly taken an interest in her breasts as his tongue passed over one of her nipples making Ruby shiver. It was then as she tried peeking her head around she saw something immediately concerning.
"Whoa! Whoa! Down Dogmeat down!" She cried as her canine friend quickly jumped from the bed in surprise, having not noticed the girl had awoken as he had been mesmerized by the two gigantic lumps upon her chest as well as her two nipples. The moment had left him with mixed feelings, the most of which leaving him with the need to mate with a female. The sight of which Ruby had immediately noticed as she dressed; her face still flush with embarrassment realizing if she had remained asleep Dogmeat would have exercised his prime animal urge onto her sleeping form. She sighed as she stared at the 'problem' between sticking out between Dogmeat's legs, if it had been upon a man with that size she'd have considered fucking his brains out then and there if she didn't have Amata. However since this was with a dog who was the first friend she made when she entered the wasteland before Thorn first reappeared into her life.
"We HAVE to get you laid buddy...I'll see if I can find something useful at Craterside Supply. Just try to bear with it for a little while okay?" She said with a look of concern on her face trying to stifle back a nervous laugh that she was almost raped by her own dog. It had been two days since she had returned to Megaton and began her 3-week leave from the war. Unfortunately the lack of front line combat made things particularly dull for the young woman as she traveled across the plaza, as she passed the bomb she noticed Confessor Cromwell giving her a suspicious stare. Lately the Children of the Atom had been shooting Ruby dirty looks as the girl assumed that they had eventually figured out what she had done to the bomb. This left a worry in the back of her mind that she had never been much concerned about, if the time came where the Children became extremely radical and wanted to hunt her down for 'defiling' a sacred artifact of hers then she was more than willing to gun them all down.
Ruby heard a loud whirring noise when she stepped inside Craterside Supply as before she could call out to Moira she heard the woman yell out.
"DUCK!" As the sound that followed sounded like a cannon while Ruby dove to the ground as something shot over her head and blasted through the window above her as shards rained down nearby. As Ruby stood up she shot a vicious glare at the redheaded woman as she waved away the smoke coughing as she lifted up her goggles.
"What the hell Moira?! I'm supposed to be on leave! Not back on the frontlines getting my head blown off!"
Moira could only chuckle embarrassed as she scratched the back of her head.
"Sorry Ruby I was just testing a deploy-able version of the Rock-It Launcher! Of course...using a jet engine might have been overkill." She said as she looked at the small smoking tripod deployed weapon from earlier.
"I'm probably going to have to explain to Sheriff Simms why a baseball suddenly shot out my window..." She mumbled as Ruby sighed and looked around the room.
"Well I did come for a little rifle today since I've finally earned up all the caps but….after a little….'incident' this morning with my dog I wanted to buy him a….well an aid." She said as to her embarrassment Moira's face lit up like a Christmas tree.
"Oh my~! Inter-species breeding between humans and canines?! How fascinating! Please I must know the details!" Ruby's pale face went bright red as in the back of her mind she heard Thorn hysterically laughing.
"I DID NOT FUCK MY DOG!" She cried as Moira giggled as she walked behind the counter and picked up a large rifle. Ruby's face went from anger to delight as she gazed at the 50. caliber Anti-Material rifle.
"Oooohhh there you are baby~" Ruby purred as she caressed the long barrel. Moira smiled as she watched another extremely pleased customer as that had quickly fixed the mistake she made
when she was testing out her junk cannon.
"For you Ruby that'll be 2500 caps! A bit pricey but seeing as how resourceful you are I bet you managed to grab that many caps pretty easily right~?" She asked as Ruby grinned as she took out large sacks of caps from her pack.
"Go ahead and count em Moira, now as for that 'aid'…." Ruby said as she gave a wide grin staring at her new sniper rifle. As Moira put away the sacks she thought for a moment before speaking.
"Well the best stress reliever I can think of for Dogmeat would be at least a teddy bear...although given his size it'd be a big one...which I don't have, although I know where you can find some." She said as Ruby perked up leaning over the counter and holding out her Pip-Boy, despite the war going on making things much more dangerous than usual for wasteland scavengers she was always willing to entertain herself at scavenging for more equipment. She nearly drooled at the possibility of stealing abandoned Enclave equipment or even stealing a Vertibird.
She thanked Moira for the information and quickly walked out with her equipment packed and left town. Her new rifle weighed heavily in her arms however it did not bother her as her mouth watered at the chance of testing her new weapon. She knew she would need to be careful as she had to forgo her familiar M4 carbine rifle this time around to adjust the weight of the equipment she was carrying including swapping out the 5.56 rounds for the 50 caliber rounds of her new sniper rifle. For a moment her eyes drifted towards the skies as she felt a sense of nervousness knowing an Enclave Vertibird could very easily strafe her if the pilot ever so wished.
As she followed the directions to the coordinates of the location that Moira gave her Ruby began noticing the high vantage points near her that skirted along the edge of the downtown DC ruins. Her only main issue with setting up a sniper's nest in any of those points however was the point of entry; if she was able to get into a building and get to the top floor and set up camp to begin sniping, then that meant someone or something else could access the same or another point of entry and possibly ambush her from behind. Ruby was certainly not looking forward to being a victim to another raider ever again after the 'accidents' she had at Springvale Elementary and at the Super Duper Mart. Her face flushed with shame as she remembered Maggie stumbling upon one of her 'accidents' when the raiders in the lower basement of the school ambushed Ruby and had been sexually assaulting her by the time a terrified Maggie and a heroic Dogmeat arrived to the rescue.
"That poor girl's been through too much….and she definitely saw too much too..." She said as she arrived at the end of a ruined intersection and noticed a tall dilapidated building that she hoped had a view of the entire area. As she cradled her new rifle in her arms she took hold of her Brotherhood of Steel holotags and kissed them in a prayer of good luck as she looked for a point of entry. As she peeked around she noticed signs of previous habitation as she stepped over a couple of charred skeletons with very little sign as to their age. She could only conclude them as being just more casualties from the bombs falling as she discovered an exposed window pane within the wall where what had once been glass was long gone.
"Well this is the only point of entry I've found so far which means the other entrances are either barricaded or parts of this building may still be crumbling..while not exactly comforting I'll just need this place for one night." She said as she took off her pack and slid it through the window pane and hearing the thumping sound of it landing on the floor inside. Next she held her breath as she put down her rifle and wormed her way through the window as well as the opening was just enough to accommodate her body's entrance. Before she examined the interior she quickly poked her head back out through the window to grab hold of her rifle and pull it through the opening.
"Sonuva bitch all those times in the gym back in the vault really paid off because you are heavy..." She groaned as she pulled the large rifle back into her arms before falling back onto a pile of rubble letting out a sigh of relief. She had spent so many of her hard earned caps on this new beloved rifle of hers, she wasn't about to lose it now or ever. As she once again cradled her rifle against her chest she noticed the suffocatingly dark surroundings around her with only incredibly small gaps of sunlight poking through holes in the building's steel and concrete walls. She momentarily reached to turn on her pip boy's light but her hand stopped when she remembered the very possible threats she could face in such a shut in building like this.
"Feral Ghouls and radroaches…." She whispered and sighed as she wrapped the sling for her new rifle across her chest and put on her pack as she took out her pistol from its holster and began cautiously securing the room. From what she could gather the building she was in seemed to be an office building, with the room she entered in being a dining and recreational room as she noticed a small glint of a half buried pool table with a skeleton poking out on top of it with a wooden pool cue still held tightly in its left hand.
"Just couldn't get the perfect game could ya buddy?" She whispered and chuckled while looking at the skeleton before continuing her sweep. As the room was cleared she found the staircase and began ascending towards her intended destination on the top floor. As she walked she noticed signs of old booby traps that had been triggered long ago. That confirmed the young woman's suspicions that this building was the home of many a wastelander long ago. As she began getting closer to the top floor she began to feel more sunlight press onto her skin and she stopped for a moment as the scent of smoke and death began intruding her nose.
"Doesn't smell like its in the building..." She muttered as she began rushing to the top floor; when she arrived she put down her pack and took out her binoculars seeing pillars of smoke along the road on the outer edge of the city.
"No fucking way…." She whispered as she looked through her binoculars to see the remains of a small convoy of two brahmin caravans that looked as if they had been slaughtered and cooked alive with such force that she noticed a small crater. It was when she saw puddles of green goo that she knew what had happened.
"Fucking Enclave ambushed them…." and to make matters worse as she saw a group of raiders begin to descend upon the ruined convoy, more than likely to check for weary survivors to capture and fresh loot. As she looked back at the crater she noticed movement amongst the ashes as she saw what looked to be a young boy peeking out.
"God damnit stay down…!" She mumbled as she quickly unpacked and deployed her rifle, unfolding the bipod and began peering through the scope. As she began to take aim she noticed the young boy step out of the crater with two other survivors as the raiders surrounded them. She counted and took deep breaths as she looked at the survivors, the taller one of the bunch looked to be a teenager, possibly an older brother or father of 16-17 years old while the other two looked like they were 8-9 years old. As the raiders tried separating the three siblings she saw a struggle ensue.
"Now's my chance..." She whispered as she loaded the rifle as she squeezed the trigger and a near deafening explosion was heard from her firing the rifle. Ruby winced as she felt her ears ringing from the powerful sound of the rifle and she felt her face become flushed red as she let out a moan.
"Buying this baby was worth every fucking cap..." As she looked back through the scope she saw her shot met its mark on one of the raiders as his head had exploded into a small shower of gore. She felt her whole body trembling with excitement as she saw the siblings attempt an escape as the raiders attempted to pursue while running for cover. Ruby felt an intense combat high set in as her eyes became wide with an intensity that would unnerve any common man as a horrific smile creased her lips.
"Time for the Ghost to haunt…." She whispered and licked her lips as she pulled back the bolt ejecting the spent casing and began firing once more upon the pursuing raiders. Her body moving mechanically as she saw raiders fall one after another. As she stopped to reload she saw that the siblings were moving towards her location as the surviving raiders fired upon them while frantically trying to shoot towards her location as bullets peppered off of the walls near her.
"Cmon boys and girls, run..! run…! Get to safety…!" She cried as she gasped seeing the tall survivor go down as a bullet passed through his skull leaving his two younger siblings crying out in terror as they hid behind a car. She bit her lip as she shot a female raider that attempted to flank the two children blowing her skull wide open.
"GET INSIDE NOW!" She stood up and yelled down towards the children as she began firing upon the surviving raiders. The two children seemed to comply as the two remaining siblings soon disappeared from her sight. She grasped hold of her holotags and once again kissed them for good luck praying for the safety of the children as she shot what she believed to be the last raider as the bullet sent his arm flying as he fell over crying out in agony.
"Shock and bloodloss will do the rest on you asshole...now do me a favor and keep crying like the bitch you are, it'll be lovely music to my ears when I go to sleep tonight~…." She purred as she ejected the last spent casing from the bolt momentarily listening to the small clinging of the casing on the floor as she put her rifle back down and nearly collapsed against the wall as she nearly broke out in giggles.
"This thing is so fucking amazing…..man if my rifle was a man I'd be riding his cock so damn hard and purring like a cat in heat while doing it~…." She whispered as she heard Thorn giggling before the sounds of labored breath and rushing footsteps were heard on the stairs as she took out her pistol and aimed towards the stairs and saw the two children from before standing there terrified.
"D-Don't shoot us please..!" The little girl cried as the boy alongside her held her in his arms protectively. Ruby sighed in relief as she lowered her pistol.
"You're those two kids from the caravan...were you followed?" She asked as she holstered her pistol as she looked back out towards the smoldering mess that used to be the caravan convoy.
"There was one of those raiders chasing us after we heard you're voice but...I think we lost him..." The boy mumbled as the young woman saw how terrified they were.
"Hey about the older guy...was he your big brother…?" Ruby asked as the two children sadly nodded and she bit her lip in regret.
"I'm sorry….If I was faster I could have saved him too..." She said as she looked up at the sky thinking about Amata and remembering seeing her unconscious form with her severed arm on the ground. She gritted her teeth in anger as she slammed her fist onto the floor. As she looked down she had seen that the two children had relaxed and sat down against the wall in front of her, the both of them still cautious of the strange young woman before them. As she relaxed and the combat high wore off the pain in her shoulder from the rifle's recoil finally set in.
"Agh….sonuva bitch….!" Ruby groaned as she held her shoulder hissing at the pain. The two children winced as the girl asked.
"Are...Are you alright?" She asked as Ruby tried giving her a soft smile.
"Don't worry about me..just getting used to my new sweetheart here…." Ruby muttered as she gave them a crooked grin. The boy looked over at her new rifle and his eyes went wide with surprise as he gasped in awe.
"So this was that thing you used to kill those raiders…? That's a massive rifle..." He said as he stared at it. Ruby felt a surge of pride as she chuckled and rubbed her the back of her head.
"Yep...cost me a really pretty cap too..." Ruby said as she thought for a moment and saw the sun beginning to set. Unfortunately for her Dogmeat's little relief sex toy was going to have to wait, she had to see to what she was sure were now two orphaned children and what Enclave forces had been doing in this area. Something didn't feel right…
"Hey listen, I'll set up camp and I have enough food for the three of us so we can talk over an early dinner huh?" The two children smiled and nodded and began helping her set up camp as what had been the worst day of their lives finally wore down into salvation.
