A/N: Hi! Thank you all for your feedback! It's always so appreciated! :) I'm sorry for the delay, but this chapter was one of the only ones I've ever written that didn't always flow. I must have had about five versions of certain parts. I knew what I wanted to do, but how it actually happened was difficult to decide. Anyway, I appreciate your patience and I hope you all enjoy this!

Blair takes a deep breath. She did it. It's over. Well, it's not over yet. Her eyes cut nervously to the crowd and then she looks back at Louis.

She's surprised when she sees a smile start to form on his face. He lets out a rush of air and bends over for a moment. "Oh, thank God." She's surprised by the sheer relief she hears in his voice. Her eyes cut to the confused priest nervously. She's certain they're going to be smited any second now and Louis is acting rather flippant about this.

"'Oh, thank God?'" She repeats feeling somewhat annoyed. Here she was agonizing over this decision, partially, granted it was very partially, because of him, and he's about to pass out from joy. "You didn't want to do this either?" She asks in a daze and flips her veil back hastily so she can see him better.

"No." He says quickly on a light laugh. The crowd gasps collectively behind her. She rolls her eyes and focuses on Louis. He stands back up and faces her. "Thank you for saying something." He takes her hands in his and squeezes them.

She opens her mouth to respond, but all that comes out is laughter and Louis joins her nearly immediately. "You're welcome." She shrugs in confusion. She wraps her arms around him. "Oh, God. I'm so glad we're on the same page." She pulls back and smiles up at him warmly. "You and Beatrice have been so dear to me this summer; I didn't want to hurt you." She rests a hand against his cheek. "This just wasn't right." She shakes her head. "For either one of us."

He places a hand over hers. "No." He looks down at her sweetly. "No, it wasn't."

Her breath hitches and she hugs him again. She rises to her tip toes and whispers in his ear. "I think we should live the lives we want, Louis." She pulls back and rests her hands against his shoulder blades, keeping him close. "No matter what." She says pointedly.

He takes a deep breath. "I think you're right." He nods slowly.

She smiles and releases him. She takes a deep breath and surveys the room. The whispers are becoming louder. She looks to see her parents and Dorota watching her. She looks back at him. "What now?"

"Uh…" He looks at their rapt audience. "I can handle this." He nods confidently. "You should probably make an escape while you can." He looks at her stomach for a moment. "You should also probably lock yourself away somewhere unknown. It's going to be a little crazy." He winces as he looks at his mother. Blair follows suit and sees that she is looking every bit the terrifying royal matriarch at this particular moment in time. They look at each other and share a small smile.

The baby has been so still since she started speaking that she actually almost forgot somehow. She rests a hand on her stomach and nods. "Thank you." She squeezes his hand before she starts down the steps.

"Wait, Blair." She looks back to see Serena moving towards her, dress in one hand and their bouquets in the other. "I'll come with you." Serena smiles at her and tosses the bouquets aside to link her arm through hers as they make their way down the steps confidently. The wedding guests remain relatively quiet and rise to their feet as Blair and Serena approach the bottom step. They may not be official royalty, but they're certainly the queens of the Upper East Side.

Just as they start their walk up the aisle the sanctuary doors are thrown open. Everyone's attention immediately shifts to the doors and another round of gasps fills the room. Her heart jumps to her throat when she sees it's Dan. He's wearing his grey coat, which she instantly notes is buttoned incorrectly, and jeans. His curls look especially wild and unkempt, like he's been playing with them endlessly. His eyes are wide and worried. He looks crazy and she's never been happier to see him. She grips Serena's arm tight with her free hand to steady herself. He's moving toward her and Serena purposefully with Nate trailing behind him. She realizes that she hadn't even noticed Nate wasn't there. She'd feel bad about not even noting his absence, but, well, Dan is crashing her already crashed wedding. She bites her lip. He stops a few feet away from them in the center of the aisle. He takes a deep breath and cuts his eyes around the room. He locks his eyes on hers and suddenly she feels like it's just the two of them. If he's nervous about interrupting a royal wedding, it doesn't show. "Waldorf, you can't do this." Her mouth falls open. She cuts her eyes to Serena briefly when she hears a soft squeal come from her. Logically, she knew something to that effect would be coming out of his mouth, but it's still somewhat shocking….and exciting.

"Humphrey—" She starts with a soft smile, but he interrupts her.

"No. I—I don't want to hear excuses and, frankly, Blair Waldorf as the martyr just doesn't make sense to me." He laughs lightly, breathlessly and it makes her smile. He takes a step closer to her and purses his lips thoughtfully. She looks at him expectantly, assuming Dan Humphrey has come to her with a well thought out, poorly delivered speech planned. "Fu—" Her eyes widen as he almost blasphemes in a church. "Sorry. I'm sorry." He holds a hand up and looks toward the priest before he looks back at her. He runs a hand over his jaw. "I don't know what's wrong with me, but, for once, my brain doesn't have an overwhelming amount of words to just shoot out. I—just—I know that you shouldn't be doing this. I know it." He looks at her pointedly. "You know what? Fuck it." He shrugs and exhales loudly. She hears Louis' mother groan behind her, but she can't bring herself to care. "I don't want you to do this. I swore to myself a hundred times today alone that I wasn't going to say that to you because I shouldn't be a factor in this. You should decide your life, but it's all I have. I don't know what it means to—to me or to you, but I don't want this for you." He shakes his head. "I don't want this for us. I don't want this for any of us." He gestures to her stomach and lets his gaze drift there for a moment. He looks in her eyes again for a long moment before he begins speaking. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry to do this now and with a clear lack of actual intent besides stopping you from marrying someone else, but I know how this ends. We both do." He lets his words hang in the air for a moment before he takes another step closer to her so he's right in front of her. "You've fought so long and so hard for happiness." She can feel her eyes start to water as she looks at him. He cups her cheek and lets his thumb smooth over her skin. "Don't give up now." He says it so quietly that she's pretty sure she's the only one who heard him.

"Dan…." She has so many questions and as she studies his eyes she sees he does too.

He drops his hand from her face and she sees him clench it at his side. "I don't know what I'm doing or what this means." He looks down for a moment. "I only know that I wouldn't be able to stand seeing you unhappy." He looks back at her sincerely and tilts his head to the side.

She takes a deep breath and looks around the room. Some people are crying and some are watching with their mouths open. She returns her focus to Dan. She's already stopped the wedding and he hasn't said that this actually changes anything between them, but she feels entirely overwhelmed. She thinks it might be the fact that he's not offering her some over the top, romantic alternative. He's here because he genuinely cares about her and he wants what's best for her. One way or another he's given her what she's always wanted: a family. She swears she can feel her heart growing and making room for even more love for him. She wipes at her tears hastily. He reaches out to take her hand and it pulls her back into the moment. She looks at their intertwined hands and she can't help but notice his shoes. She smiles to herself before she looks at him. "Not only are your shoes awful, as usual, but they don't match." He furrows his brow and looks down at them quickly.

He laughs. "So they don't." He nods to himself and squeezes her hand in his. "For the record, I don't think my mismatched shoes are an administrative problem." She laughs lightly as she remembers the last time one of them had this issue. He studies her closely. "What's it gonna be?"

"Good grief." Beatrice calls out before Blair can even open her mouth. "I do not have all day for romantic comedies." Blair rolls her eyes as Beatrice stands beside her. "Let me ask you, Dan Humphrey, at what point in the wedding do you think the bride and maid of honor exit the ceremony together?"

Dan opens his mouth to respond and then seems to realize what Beatrice is really saying. He inhales sharply and his eyes fly back to Blair's. She can't help but smile. "You were leaving…..with Serena?" He smiles at her and then it falters. "That doesn't mean you're already married does it? I told Nate that we should have just taken the subway….." He runs a hand through his hair. "I honestly don't even think I noticed what was happening once I got in here." He shakes his head and looks at her with wide eyes.

"Unbelievable." Beatrice mutters beside her.

"Humphrey, you may need to finally transfer out of NYU." She says on a sigh. "It's doing nothing for your intellect."

"Blair, come on." He takes a hold of both of her hands. "I just need you to say it." He takes a deep breath. "After all of this, this summer and the past few months, I want to hear the words."

"She's not married, imbecile!" A man with a thick French accent calls out from somewhere in their otherwise well behaved audience.

Dan smirks and rolls his eyes. "Thanks, buddy." The crowd laughs and she giggles as she keeps her eyes on Dan. His smirk changes into a warm smile as he watches her. "Say it." He says softly and lifts his head slightly to encourage her to speak.

She laughs breathlessly and leans her head back to get a better look at him. "Dan, I'm not married and I'm not getting married." She says quietly, emotionally. His smile brightens and his eyes shine. "I was on my way out when you came in." She smooths her thumbs over the backs of his hands. "It seems you can't even crash a wedding properly." He laughs and leans in like he's going to kiss her. She can't believe it and then his eyes widen slightly and he stops himself. He gently lets go of her hands. She shifts awkwardly.

Serena clears her throat and steps closer to them. "I think we should probably leave." She looks around the room and tilts her head toward the doors.

"Yeah, yeah." Dan nods. "You're right." He scrubs a hand down his face and looks around the room. "I can't believe I just stopped your wedding." He laughs lightly and looks over at Blair.

She furrows her brow and tilts her head. "Well—"

He rolls his eyes. "I know, I know. You already stopped it." He smiles at her and extends his hand to her. "Either way, I'm ready to get out of here."

She looks at his hand for a moment before she slips hers in it. "I am too." She can't believe this wedding is ending with Dan walking her up the aisle. She grips his hand tighter.

She can feel his eyes on her as they finally exit the sanctuary. They can hear the shocked conversations and chatter even after the doors are closed. Nate and Serena lead the way and are now talking off to the side. They're talking very animatedly and with the fervent looks they keep tossing her way, she can only assume it's about her and getting her out of here. She watches them as her own wheels start turning. This is going to be crazy; especially with what just happened with Dan. Even dealing with well-meaning people seems daunting right now. She just wants peace and quiet. "Are you ok?" Dan's voice interrupts her thoughts.

She looks at him and nods. "Yeah, I just think I need to get out of the city for a few days. I need to lay low." She takes a deep breath. "And, honestly, I need to clear my head now that this is all over."

"I know the feeling." He looks at her intently and swallows hard. "I—uh—I have my dad's car." He pulls the keys out of his pocket. Her breath catches as she eyes them. She slowly raises her eyes back to his. "My mom's been bugging me to come to Hudson." He says tentatively. She's not sure either one of them know what he's offering; if he's even offering anything at all.

"Is there room for me?" She says the words without thinking and wonders if he picks up on the tinge of desperation in her voice. He looks somewhat surprised that she's asking, but he nods his head anyway and she thinks she sees a small smile tug at his lips. "Take me there." She says quietly, hopefully.

"Ok." He says slowly. He furrows his brow and curls his fingers around the keys.

"I know none of this means anything, Dan." She squeezes his hand that she's still holding. He cuts his eyes to her and she smiles faintly. "I can—I can always find another way to get to somewhere else if this is too much."

"No." He looks down at the keys before he looks back at her. "I think this is a good plan." He nods his head slowly. "I'll be there with you….for whatever you need." Their eyes lock and she's not sure if that statement is supposed to be as heavy as it feels. She darts her eyes away first and he takes a deep breath. "I mean it's probably best if we're together right now. I'd be so worried about you." He slips his keys back in his pocket and looks around. "And the baby. You and the baby." He adds awkwardly.

"Of course." She runs a hand down her stomach as she studies him.

"Do you have a bag or something?" She watches his hands as he starts to unbutton his jacket. He chuckles. "Oh my God. Those people must think I'm a nut. I couldn't even button my coat right. I was so frazzled this morning." He shakes his head and laughs lightly. "And to think it was all for nothing." He says reverently, mostly to himself. He looks up again and clears his throat when he sees her watching him.

She steps closer to him and rests a hand against his cheek. "I didn't want that either, Dan."

He leans into her touch and nods his head. "I know that. If I thought for one second that any of that was what you wanted I would have been on that plane to London this morning." He eyes her before he leans forward and presses his lips to her forehead. "I'll always want the best for you. No matter what." He says quietly, just for her. She sighs and nods her head. "Bag?" He says again after a moment.

"Oh, no." She waves a hand dismissively. "Let's just get out of here. Dorota can always bring me something or I can go shopping."

He winces and slips his coat off. "Yeah, I don't know that you're going to like the shopping in Hudson." He helps her into his coat and rests a hand on the small of her back. He smiles down at her as she scrunches up her face.

She eyes his plaid shirt. "God, you're right." She groans as he quickly guides her toward a side exit. They hurry to his car, hand in hand, without saying goodbye to anyone. Nate and Serena were too busy arguing to even notice their escape. She'll text her parents and Serena on her way there. Right now she just wants to focus on leaving.

She's looking at the trees flying by outside the passenger side window. The baby's been so peaceful and it's helping Blair stay calm too. She rests a hand on her stomach and rubs it gently. It's been a quiet car ride. She's sure Dan has just as much on his mind as she does. "Uh oh." She furrows her brow and looks over at Dan.

"That is not something I want to hear from my driver, Humphrey." Then she notices the distinct feeling of the car slowing down, quickly. "What's going on?" He ignores her and bites his lip as he pulls over to the side of the road carefully and puts his arm out in front of her as the car comes to a stop. "Oh, no. No." She shuts her eyes for a moment. "Please tell me this fossil did not just break down."

He unbuckles and turns in his seat to look at her. "Are you ok?" His eyes scan over her body.

"You crawled off of the road. I'm fine." She says gently.

He exhales slowly. "I hope you still feel that way when I tell you that we are indeed broken down."

"Uggghhhh." She groans and throws her head back against her head rest.

"It's ok. I'll go check it out and call my mom if I need to. She's not that far away." He hurries out of the car before she gets to ask any other questions.

"I feel, ultimately, that this is my fault." Blair says sullenly when she hears the car door open a few minutes later. She's staring out her window.

"Here we go." Dan says teasingly as he settles into his seat.

"It's true." She looks over at him and purses her lips. "I knew better than to get in this car again. It was miraculous that it held up the first time." She sighs and smooths her dress out. It's taking up her entire side of the car and then some. She frowns as she uselessly tries to contain it.

"It's a car, Blair." He says tiredly. "These things happen. Let's just be thankful that I was able to pull over safely, ok?" He turns his head to look out his window. She cuts her eyes to him and is about to comment on the fact that these things do not have to happen if one has a car that is not older than one's parents, but she swallows the comment. He still seems frazzled and preoccupied.

"Ok." She says quietly and turns to look out her window. She's not sure how long she's been transfixed with the view outside and her thoughts when it occurs to her that Dan's mom probably should have been here by now if she lived just up the road. "Humphrey, should you call your mom again? I can't imagine she'd have missed us though." She sighs as a light snow starts falling. She's not sure if it's his presence or the baby's calm or the scenery, but she's feeling more relaxed than ever. He's been quiet a long time so she turns to look at him. She raises her eyebrows expectantly when she sees that he's already looking at her.

He shakes his head as though he's just waking up. "Uh, well. About that—"

She narrows her eyes. "If you're about to tell me something that will make me leave my child fatherless, maybe you shouldn't."

"She's probably almost here." He says defensively. "Honestly. This time." He tilts his head.

"You lied about how far away she lives?" She shakes her head. "Why would you do that?"

He snorts. "Seriously?" His eyes dart around the car. "I'm trapped in a broken down car with pregnant Blair Waldorf. I'm going to try to minimize the damage." He raises his shoulders and holds his hands up. "I won't apologize for having survival instincts."

"Oh my God." She groans and tightens his jacket around her. "You know, I have not even been that crazy. I take offense to the thought that I can't handle inconvenient news because I'm pregnant." She crosses her arms and faces forward. "You're about to have a daughter; I hope you lose this misogynistic attitude before she arrives."

"Ok, well, you're kind of proving my point right now." Her mouth falls open as she turns her head to glare at him. "I'm sorry, but it's true. I knew you would freak out if I told you how long she would actually be." She readjusts in her seat so she's facing him. It's taking longer than she anticipated and so he continues speaking, much to her dismay. "Also, I think we both know that I'm not maligning pregnancy or women. I'm just saying that you are you and you're terrifying on a good day so—"

She holds a hand up. "Stop. Just—stop." She wants to turn back around, but it was too much work to get this way so she settles for looking away. It's not helping. "I don't know why you even bothered." She mumbles and pouts her lips. She can feel tears forming behind her eyes.

"What?" She can feel him leaning closer to her.

"I said I don't know why you even bothered." She huffs out loudly.

"No, I heard you; I don't think I understand you though." She looks over to see his eyes are dark and annoyed. Well, good. She's annoyed too.

"If you're just going to insult me I don't know why you bothered crashing my wedding and helping me get out of the city." She arches an eyebrow as he looks at her with confusion.

"You crashed your own wedding and you invited yourself—" Her eyes widen and he stops talking. "Shit. I did not mean that like that." She turns away from him quickly. The tears she was keeping at bay come rushing to her eyes. She tries to sniffle quietly, but it's no use. She wipes at her eyes. He gently takes her hand from her face and wipes away her tears himself. She turns to look at him and he looks so sad that it makes her bottom lip tremble and more tears spill out. "I'm sorry. I forget sometimes that all of this stuff has happened between us and I can't be as, well, insensitive as I used to be with you. It—It's not really fun banter when there's all this extra stuff involved." He casts his eyes down for a moment. She takes a few hiccupping breaths and he looks back at her with a warm smile. "You didn't invite yourself. I wanted to take care of you; I wanted you to come and I absolutely implied it. I knew what I was doing and saying. I was just too scared to actually do or say it so I set you up to do it. You're the brave one."

"I don't know." She says quietly. "I think it was pretty brave of you to try to stop me from doing something stupid. I mean I am kind of terrifying." He laughs lightly and she locks her eyes on his. A long moment passes between them. "Dan, why'd you do it?" She knows he already babbled on about this at the church, but there must be something more. People don't just crash other people's weddings for entirely selfless reasons.

"I told you." He sighs and leans back against his chair. "I think I know what would make you happy, Blair." He turns his head to look at her. "It wasn't that." He shrugs and turns back around.

She takes a deep breath. He does know what would make her happy and he also knows she can't have it; can't have him. "It's just—You can't do things like that." He turns his head quickly and watches her. She wishes she would just stop talking, but now she's started and she can't. "It seems like a waste of a romantic gesture is all. I hope you don't ever want to crash someone else's wedding someday, for the right reasons. You've wasted your only opportunity to do so." She looks forward again and wipes at her fresh tears. "A person can't just go around storming into weddings. It's a big deal. Once in a lifetime….." Her tears start to flow more freely. She can't wipe them away quickly enough.

"Who else's wedding would I crash, Blair?" He asks softly.

She chokes on her laugh and looks at him helplessly. "I don't know, Dan, someone you want to be with, someone you're in love with!" He opens his mouth to say something, but nothing comes out. She rolls her eyes and groans as she turns away from him again. She feels his hand move over hers gently. "I'm sorry. It's just confusing." She shakes her head and closes her eyes for a moment.

"You were already walking out though." He reminds her hesitantly. "I didn't stop you from doing anything."

"I know, I know, I know." She closes her eyes tight. "And I know we're over." She opens her eyes again and slowly takes in her blurry world. "Whether or not you had walked through those doors, I wasn't going to marry Louis. You're right; it wouldn't have made me happy and I know that too." She turns to look at him. His eyes are intent as he listens to her and watches her. "Regardless, a girl thinks certain things when she sees a boy running into a church on her wedding day." She shrugs sadly.

"This is all a little more complicated than a boy and a girl and her wedding to a prince she doesn't love." His eyes move to her stomach slowly.

She slowly reaches for his hand. "I actually think she makes it all a lot less complicated." She intertwines their fingers.

He cuts his eyes back to her briefly before he leans his head back against his head rest and looks straight ahead. She does the same. This is a useless conversation. He's been clear more than once and he only came today because he cares about her well-being. He's not a monster and they're having a child together; of course her happiness matters to him. Her eyes start to close when a draft settles in the car. She shivers and grips his hand tighter. She hears him move and turns her head to see he's leaning closer to her. "Are you ok?" She pouts and shakes her head. He brings his free hand to her face and his fingers trace over her cheek lightly. "What's wrong?" He asks softly, his brow creasing with concern.

"I'm tired and cold and hungry." She says, feeling like a petulant child.

"I'm sorry." He leans forward and presses his lips to her forehead. They're soft and warm. Her eyes shut and she leans into him, craving the contact, especially now. "This car was an awful idea. You shouldn't be out here like this." He presses another kiss to her forehead before withdrawing slightly. They're still close together.

"It was kind of romantic." She mutters quietly, a small smile teasing at her lips as she peeks at him through her lashes. "I mean I know you didn't intend it to be that way, but it is. Romantic." She wipes under her eyes quickly.

"Back to the beginning." He adds absently.

Her eyes meet his. "The beginning of our friendship, Humphrey. Don't rewrite history." She adjusts in her seat to try be closer to him and his warmth. It's ridiculous and nearly impossible with her dress, but she manages. "We had a connection long before this car."

"We did." He nods slowly. "Even if we didn't always know it." He laughs lightly.

"I knew it." She says confidently. He narrows his eyes. "I did. I just chose to ignore it." She smiles playfully and bites her lip. "Let's be honest, we're easily the smartest out of our friends and we have similar cultural tastes. At the very least, we're the only ones who get each other's references. Chuck and Serena could never keep up. Nate….Well, I don't think I need to say it." He laughs and it makes her feel good. She revels in the moment before she continues. "All of those times you were there for me, when you had no reason to be…..They weren't lost on me." His breathing seems to falter and so she looks down. She places her other hand on his and rubs the back of his hand. "And these past couple of months when I'm sure you wanted anything but to be around me, you've done everything I needed and you've been by my side. You even crashed a royal wedding to save me from myself." She sighs to herself and continues rubbing his hand absently. "There's no one like you. You have the best heart." She looks at him and smiles. "I'm sorry I ruined us and my chance with you, but I'm so happy that you're the father my baby." She nods and wipes away her tears. "Don't worry. These are happy." She watches him for a moment before she looks back out the window. She pushes too hard sometimes without meaning to.

"I have a candy bar." His voice is nervous as it cuts into the heavy silence.

She looks back at him, confused by his outburst. "Please tell me this isn't some genetic disorder that I was unaware of?"

He laughs and shakes his head. "No." He closes his eyes and rubs the palm of his hand over his eyebrow. "It's just my awkwardness. Of which you are well aware…." He widens his eyes and sighs when he looks back at her. She laughs lightly and brings his hand to her lips. She places a gentle kiss on it. She stares at it for a moment before kissing it again.

She looks at him. "I love you. There's nothing in it for me and there doesn't have to be." She smiles warmly. "I love you."

"Blair…" He starts quietly.

She shakes her head and brings a finger to his lips. "Don't. Don't say anything." Her eyes dance with his. "I love you. That's all. Nothing else needs to be said or done." She flits her eyes away before moving them back to his. "Do you really have a candy bar? Because it's not wise to tease pregnant Blair Waldorf…." She bites her lip.

He smirks. "I do have a candy bar." He reaches into the back seat for his messenger bag. She can't help herself and claps happily as he rifles through it. He pulls it out triumphantly and she snatches it out of his grasp. She tears it open and takes a bite. Her eyes close and she moans.

"Oh my God. You two speak the same language." She says through a mouth full of candy bar. His thumb runs along the edge of her bottom lip. It startles her and she turns to look at him causing his thumb to smooth over her lip.

"You had….." His lips are parted and his eyes have darkened. He shakes his head and withdraws his thumb. She swallows hard and looks back at the candy bar. She takes another bite nervously. Their baby kicks in her stomach.

He's looking at her like she's wished, dreamed he would. "You have no idea how good this is right now. It's perfect." She says to fill the silence.

He clears his throat. "I think I have some idea." She holds the candy bar out in front of him and he shakes his head. "No, thanks, I'm good."

"Suit yourself, Humphrey." She says quietly and takes another bite.

"Are you still cold?" He grips her hand in his a little tighter. Her mouth is too full to speak so she nods. He takes her hand in between his and rubs slowly, creating wonderful friction. She stops chewing and watches him carefully. She should warn him that it doesn't take much to get her going these days.

"Dan…." She starts, but he doesn't let her finish.

"I love you too." He says clearly. She doesn't know what to say, what he wants her to say. Love hasn't really been their issue. So she takes another bite of her candy bar and chews slowly. He laughs lightly as his eyes move over her face. "God, I love you so much." He leans in and kisses her. Her mouth is full of chocolate, the snow is falling, and the tiny crescent moon is starting to shine. Only Dan Humphrey would wait until she was chewing on a candy bar in a cold, broken down car with barely any light to speak of to kiss her again, after all this time and change. It makes her love him even more somehow. She didn't know it was possible. He breaks away slowly and she finishes chewing quickly, before whatever spell has come over him vanishes. She doesn't know where this is going or what it means; she just wants to keep kissing him. She grabs his face, candy bar still in hand, and leans in to kiss him back. He sighs into her mouth and his hands tangle in her hair. He deepens the kiss and her heart flutters shamelessly in her chest. She lets the candy bar fall from her hand and she wraps her arms around his neck. He breaks away, breathless, and eyes her before he leans back in. She's just settling in to the feeling of his mouth and hands when there's a knock on his side of the car. They jump apart and she sees his mother through the window. Allison eyes Blair before she makes her way back to her car. Dan's in a state of shock watching her carefully.

"Your mom is here, Humphrey." She says softly and smiles at him. He nods and places his fingers over his lips. He clears his throat and looks away from her, quickly grabbing things they need from the car. Her smile fades as she realizes those kisses only made one of them happy. She swallows hard and turns to open her door.

"Hey, wait." He reaches for her arm but she scoots closer to her open door, trying to get out. "It's wet out there; let me help you to the car." She ignores him and tries to climb out of the car. Pregnancy and this dress are ruining her dramatic exit. She manages to get a good hold on the door and lift herself up as Dan comes running around to the passenger side. "Blair, will you just wait a minute?" She tries to walk faster, but her shoe slides over a wet patch and she nearly falls over. She gasps and she feels Dan's hands grab her. She grabs onto him tight. That could have been bad. She takes a few deep breaths to calm herself down. She rests a hand on her stomach. She has to be more careful. "Why are you always so stubborn?" He asks quietly and takes her face in his hands as he inspects her.

She locks her eyes on his. "I don't think I'm the stubborn one this time." She hates the emotion in her voice, but she can't help it.

He exhales slowly. "Waldorf, I'm sorry." He shakes his head and drops his hands to her arms. "I shouldn't have done that." He's about to offer her more apologies and she might actually scream if he does so she cuts him off.

"It's ok." She clears her throat. "I'm ok. Just help me to the car." He looks at her skeptically. She gives him a small, quick smile. "It's been a long day and I'm very tired. Let's go please." He nods his head and carefully helps her into his mother's car. She and Allison share an awkward look before she gives up and rests her head against the window. She just has to be more careful. She lets sleep overtake her before the car even starts moving.

Btw, a Dan chapter will be coming up soon. I think his perspective is going to be needed. It'll only be one chapter, but I think it'll trace back a little and lead to the present.
