...
Sara and Laurel caught up with them soon after as they stood there watching Slade. They both broke out into a run, Laurel grabbing Cat and pulling her into a hug as Sara did the same with Oliver.
"You saved my life, again." She murmured.
Cat shook her head as Laurel pulled away and moved over to Oliver as Sara stood in front of her, throwing her arms around her. The redhead was too stunned to move at first and glanced over at Oliver who had a small smile on his face. She finally lifted her arms, wrapping them around Sara.
"You've saved my sisters life, you've saved my life countless times, thank you, Cat."
"Uh… you're welcome?" Cat replied, finally disentangling herself before going to hand the staff back. "Thanks, for your weapon, it's much appreciated."
Sara shook her head. "Keep it, you're really good with it."
"Thanks." Cat replied.
"What now?" Laurel asked.
Cat cocked her head to the side with a small frown. "ARGUS will be by soon."
Oliver tensed beside her. "For what?"
"They have somewhere to put Slade Wilson. I think you'll approve." She replied with a mysterious smile before turning to Sara. "Nyssa's looking for you."
"How do you know that?" Sara frowned.
"I don't even know, I know too much for some reason again but please tell her I would like to talk to her and I'll meet you at the docks."
Sara nodded and grabbed her sisters hand as the two walked away.
"Cat, what's going on?" Oliver asked.
"Things are… coming to me. It's making me a little uneasy." She sighed, rubbing at her temples. "By the way, all the weird looks and words and touches, ending with you confessing you loved me, what the hell?"
"I had to make it believable."
"You could've told me." She cried.
"No, there were camera's everywhere. I needed everyone to believe it, you included. I had a hunch he would do this when I found the camera's, so that's why I started acting weird. When you kissed me and gave me that vision, that told me that Slade already believed it, that if I put you in the right place at the right time, and you were powerless, as far as he knew, we could take him down. When I realized it might not be me but the person I love the most he would go after, I needed it to be someone he would find believable but that could take him out when the time was needed."
She let out a sigh of relief. "Thank god. I was getting a little worried until that kiss at your place but I was right, it was like kissing my brother."
He let out his own sigh of relief. "Good because that was definitely weird."
Cat nodded. "You should definitely make with the smoochies with Felicity and maybe never tell her about that kiss. She'll be sad."
"What?" He asked in confusion.
"Nothing." She replied with a grin. "I need to talk to Nyssa so I'll meet up with you soon."
She turned away but Oliver grabbed her arm. "What? Why?"
She shrugged, her mind moving rapidly. "Because I'm curious about that wolfsbane. I want to know more about it, for my wolves, so I can caution them."
"What about Mexico?" Oliver wondered.
Cat's brow furrowed as she thought it over before gracing him with a smile. "I'll head down there after we get back from your Island."
"My Island?" He called as she turned away. Her only reply was to look back at him with a mysterious smile before running off into the night.
… … …
Cat was now in street clothes as she jogged towards the harbour, waving at the Lances as Sara talked to Laurel and their Father. All three Lances waved at her and she heard the Detective confirm her identity before asking how she was all healed. She only waved again, turning and calling out to Nyssa who was busy gathering her people into the boat.
"Hello, Little Wolf. I was hoping to see you again before I left." The Assassin told her with a pleased smile.
Cat gave her a weak smile before plowing forward. "I need to know about that Wolfsbane that poisoned me."
She immediately looked worried as she looked her over. "Are you still not well? You should be healed by now."
"Should I?" Cat asked with a frown. "I mean, I feel fine, except-" She stopped, wondering how to explain what she thought was going on with her. "I don't know how much Sara has told you about being a Wolf and a Seer."
Nyssa's eyes widened in disbelief, looking behind her to make sure no one was listening in before grabbing Cat's arm and leading her a bit of ways down the dock.
"You are not supposed to exist." Nyssa hissed. "Sara has told me and only me in confidence. No one else knows."
Cat's eyes narrowed. "You know what that means."
"There are stories that have been passed down, one such is the story of the Wolf Seer and her tragic end. If the League were to know of your existence, it would not bode well for you."
"What haven't you told anyone yet?" Cat wondered.
"You are different. Sara also has a soft spot for you. I do not want to upset her."
Cat nodded, filing that information away for later. Since when would Sara have a soft spot for her?
"Okay, here's the thing. Obviously, I didn't go crazy, my Seer and Wolf have co-existed with a few problems. The wolf side has grown while my Seer side seems to be fading, as in, it's just not there. But we learned when I transform, I get visions but I also get hallucinations. We came up with the idea that I shouldn't push for visions or try and shift. But lately the rare time I do shift, no visions so I've been pretty convinced that my Seer side is fading out and the Wolf won. Ever since I was hit with the wolfsbane though, that side is returning. It's very faint and very weak but it's there and I'm worried about what that means for me in general." She stopped her rambling to look at Nyssa who was looking at her in concern.
"Am I going to go insane now?" Cat whispered.
"To be honest Little Wolf, I am unsure. When we have used this Wolfsbane, it was to dispatch the wolves right away."
"Then how did you know how to save me?"
"From notes I have on wolfsbane. We are returning home, I can give everything I have to Sara to pass on to you, if you so choose."
Cat sighed, knowing that was the best she would get. "I choose. Thanks, for your help and for saving my life."
"I do not believe you will go insane. You have not yet and from what I have read, it was a rapid descent into insanity."
"So I've been told." Cat muttered.
Nyssa smiled at her. "It was a pleasure working with you and I do hope to see more of you in the future. Please, let Sara know if you would ever be interested in joining our League of Assassins. I do believe my Father would be quite pleased with a rare gem such as you. I do not believe he will care that you are both Seer and Wolf."
Cat bit her lip to stop the snort of disbelief from escaping before she forced a smiled to her face. "I'll make sure to let you know if I ever to choose to become an Assassin. Thanks for your help and please let me know when you have information for me."
"Of course. Goodbye Little Wolf."
Cat sighed. "My name's Cat, but goodbye Nyssa."
The Assassin left and Cat walked over to the Lance's just as Sara was putting her jacket onto Laurel.
"Lina." Laurel said with a grin. "Everything work out okay?"
Cat nodded. "It's okay, you can call me Cat. Cat's out of the bag, no pun intended."
"I'll take it to the grave." Detective Lance told her.
Cat sent him a grateful smile before turning to Sara. "So I guess this is goodbye. I'm heading home soon too."
"You are?" Laurel asked.
Cat glanced at her with a nod. "My friends need my help and well, I need to finish High School."
"You need to finish High school?" Lance asked in disbelief. "you're nothing but a kid? You know what? I don't want to know. I don't even want to know." He threw his hands up and walked away from them.
Cat grinned, stepping forward to hug Laurel before turning and hugging Sara. "I'm sure I'll stop in from time to time." She told Laurel before directing the next part to Sara. "And I'm sure we'll be in touch."
"Is that what you were talking to Nyssa about?" Sara wondered.
Cat nodded. "Yup. I'll see you guys later."
She left the two and walked out of the harbour towards her car, her phone beeping along the way. She stopped and pulled it out, seeing a message from Felicity, giving her a time on when to meet them back at the harbour . Knowing she had just enough time, she went back to Felicity's and packed up all her stuff, throwing it into her car. She sighed, knowing she wouldn't have time to go to the Foundry and get her weapons, she would have to deal with what she had in her car. And she hoped it would be enough. The moment they got back from the Island, Cat was taking off for Mexico. No one was answering their phone and she was worried. She pondered going straight there now but knew she had to at least see this through in case anything went wrong and they would be home the next night. She figured she could make it to Mexico in no time if she sped the whole way and avoided cops as best as she could.
When she was done, she met the others at the harbour Oliver at the helm of a tiny seaplane. She got inside and looked around.
"You want me to get inside that?" She asked in disbelief. "With Ollie as the pilot?"
He smiled. "I know how to fly."
Cat stopped to check out Felicity's cut on her head. "How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay." Felicity promised her. "I barely even feel it. But what about you?"
Cat smiled. "I'm okay. All healed. Diggle?"
The big man nodded and she moved to sit up beside Oliver, turning his face to check him over.
"How are you?" She wondered.
"I'm okay. ARGUS and Slade are on their way already. They said they have a facility there to hold him. They were nice enough to have this plane readily available for us."
"Did you ever wonder how they accomplished that so quick?"
He let out a small snort. "I feel that at times it best not to ask. What about you? Don't you think you should head down to Mexico?"
"I will, after. Unless of course, this is a trap by Amanda to snag me. If so, I'm taking her out with me."
"Cat?"
She grinned. "Oh come on, not even a little bit."
Oliver replied with a look as Cat put on her seatbelt.
"You sure you know how to fly this?" He nodded as he began setting up for takeoff, telling her to reach over and hit certain buttons or move specific dials. Cat obliged, stopping when her hand touched the buttons. She froze, her mouth open in a silent O of surprise and it took Oliver gently calling her name a couple times before she became aware and finished doing what he asked.
"What happened?" Oliver asked.
"Nothing." She quickly replied, staring at everything in front of them.
She couldn't quite believe it herself, really. This hadn't happened since she was a full on Seer back in Beacon Hills but touching the parts of the plane had given her exact knowledge on how to fly it.
Her Seer abilities were coming back, so what exactly did that mean for her and her sanity?
… …
"This is kind of pretty here." Cat noted, looking out into the ocean as they waited for Oliver who was down in the cell with Slade.
"I came here last year but I didn't really notice." Felicity told her before sighing and looking to her friend. "So you're leaving when we get back? I heard you talking to Oliver."
Cat nodded. "My friends are in Mexico, no one is answering me and I'm worried."
"How do you know where to go?"
"I'll call Deaton when I'm on the road. He told them where the Hunter's were and I'm sure he can tell me."
"I'll miss you. It's been really awesome having you around."
Cat smiled. "I like Starling City. Who knows, maybe I'll come back and work for Oliver again after school, or if you guys need me before then."
"You mean if he gets his family's company back."
"I'm not worried. That boy can turn up the charm when he needs to. A little bit of that will get him on the right track." She glanced sideways at Felicity. "You'll call me though, if you ever need me? I'll be there whenever you need me, City."
"I know." The blonde replied. "And if you need anything in Beacon Hills, I'll send out the cavalry for you in a heartbeat."
Cat grinned, knowing they would be there if she ever needed them but she wouldn't call them. The whole supernatural side was still another world to them and she didn't want to bring them into that if she could help it.
"It's been a pleasure working with you." Diggle told her as he walked by them towards where Oliver had disappeared.
"You too, Diggy." She grinned. "Lyla tell you any interesting news before we left."
His brow furrowed. "How did you know? Vision?"
She shook her head. "Hearing. I could detect the other heartbeat but she wanted to tell you."
"What other heartbeat?" Felicity asked, looking between the two.
Diggle gave a slight not and Cat's grin only grew as she looked up at him.
"You'll make a great Dad, Diggy."
"You're going to be a Dad?" Felicity shrieked. "Oh my god, that's amazing."
He grinned, his face full of pride. "Yes, it is. Don't tell Oliver yet though, I'm going to wait until we're back."
Behind them, Oliver pushed open the latch as he pulled himself out and hopped down onto the beach beside them. Cat and Felicity stood up as he walked towards them.
"Do you think that would be enough to hold him?" Diggle asked.
"Him and anyone else we send here." Oliver said. "This battle may be over but there will be others. Starting with getting my family's company back."
"That's not going to be easy." Felicity pointed out. "Especially since you're poor now. You're going to have to get a job." She grinned. "If Slade Wilson doesn't scare you, that's got to."
He gave them a small smile. "Do you know anyone hiring ex billionaires with superior archery skills?"
Cat let out a small snort and he stopped, giving the other two a quick look. They nodded, walking ahead to the plane and leaving Oliver and Cat alone.
"Are you okay?" She asked, noting that while he smiled, he didn't seem exactly fine.
"I just wanted to talk to you before we get back on the plane and drop you off in Mexico."
"Mexico?" She questioned, confused. "What are you talking about?"
"I know you needed to get to Mexico fast. I arranged it to have your bike as well as your outfit and some weapons delivered to where we're going to drop you off. Your car will be returned to Beacon Hills and should be there when you're home."
Her eyes narrowed. "Ollie, You're poor. How could you have done all that?"
"I had a few more favors to call in. Lyla and Diggle used some ARGUS resources without Amanda finding out. This way we can pretty much sneak you out of Starling so she doesn't come looking for you."
Cat smiled at him. "I'm sure she'll find me in Beacon Hills at some point. I guess I'll have to see if I can learn how to do that program I threatened her with."
"That might be a good idea." He sighed. "I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me, Cat. You came to my city, you helped me save it, I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for all that you've done for us."
She shrugged, all of a sudden bashful as she looked down, digging her toe in the sand. "If you were like me, I'm sure you would've done the same."
"Maybe but you did and I'm glad you're my friend."
"Like I told City, anytime you need me, call and I'll be there."
"I know." He replied with a smile, reaching into his jacket to pull out some papers. "These are for you."
"What are they?" she asked, unfolding them.
"The papers you gave me in Beacon Hills to look over. Fortunately for us, my lawyer was able to look through them before I could no longer afford to pay them. Your Mother's money, all her assets have been released to you effective immediately, as well as the your grandmother's assets. She left everything to you."
"Holy wow." Cat whispered, looking at the amount that was bolded at the bottom. "That's all mine?"
He smiled. "Yes. Looks like you can go to college anywhere you want to."
"Hm, well I heard Starling City has a University I should check out and I know a place I could work too. I do believe there will be a spot in IT open if a certain billionaire isn't in need of a personal assistant."
"That's if I get my company back."
"You will. Even if I have to hack to the moon and back to make it happen, I'll figure out a way." Cat glanced down at the papers again, letting out a low whistle. "Or perhaps I can buy into your company now."
He grabbed her hand, waiting until she looked up at him again. "Go home and finish school Cat, be a teenager a bit longer while you can."
"That ship sailed a long time ago, Ollie." She pulled her hand away, digging into her pocket and pulling out a bank card that she handed to him.
"What's this?" he asked, in confusion.
"Before you try to give it back, hear me out. It's quite obvious that I'm well off now. I would love nothing more than to just give you what my Mother left me but I know you would never accept it. However, on this card is everything you've paid me since I came to Starling City so take it and get on your feet then go take whomever you have to by storm and get your company back."
He shook his head, trying to return the card. "Cat, there's no way I-"
"There is and you will." She interrupted him. "I know you paid me more than you possibly should have. I know I was probably the best paid personal assistant ever, I do look this up. But I didn't come to you guys for money, I came to help you and in the process you guys more than helped me. Basically, I'm not dead because of you and let's be honest, the whole PA thing was a cover so take your money back but keep it in this account, under my name until you get your stuff sorted. Please, do this for me."
He stared at her before looking down at the card then back at her with a sigh as he slowly pocketed the card. "I really am going to miss you."
"I'm only a phone call away." She reminded him. "Also, next time I come back, you better have asked Felicity out."
"What?"
Cat grinned. "Ask her out already. She wants you, bad. And you might as well admit it, you want her too. I know you've been skirting around the issue because of your lifestyle but, come on, life's too short."
He shook his head, returning the grin as he wrapped his arm around her and began walking them back to the plane.
"You're definitely one of a kind, Cat."
"And you're a great big brother, Ollie."
He sighed. "With how much Thea hates me, it's good to hear that from someone."
"She'll come around." Cat told him. "she's in the dark about a lot of things, she doesn't understand and you can't blame her for reacting the way she does. But if she knew even half of what I knew, she would be telling you the same thing. You're awesome and I kinda love you for it."
"Just kind of?" He teased.
"Well a lot. Now, let's get me to Mexico."
"Are you sure you don't want our help?"
She shook her head. "No. This is something different and I don't need you in the crossfires. If I go in alone, I can sneak my friends out if I have to. No one ever suspects the little one."
He laughed and they joined the others at the plane.
… … …
Cat stood beside her bike, having just got off her phone with Deaton who told her where he sent the others. She looked to her Starling friends, sadness coming over her now that it was definitely time to say goodbye. She was already changed into her Cat gear, her newly washed wig on her head, her mask in place.
"Far to go?" Oliver asked, a small frown on his face at losing Cat, a great asset to his team.
"Not far at all, just a bit more south." She told him. "I should get going though. It's been a while since they checked in with Deaton."
"You'll be okay?" Felicity asked, chewing her lip.
"I"ll be fine, I promise." She stepped forward, pulling the blonde into a hug. "I'll miss you City."
The taller woman sniffled. "I'm going to miss you too. I'm so glad we finally got to meet, that you got in touch with me again."
"Of course, you were the first person besides my mom to care about me, I will never forget that. Call me as often as you need to. I love you City."
Felicity gave her an extra hard squeeze before pulling away. "I love you too Lina."
Cat stepped over to Diggle, reaching up to give the tall man a hug. He returned it, easily pulling her off her feet.
"Don't be a stranger." He told her.
"Never. And look after Lyla and… well you know."
He chuckled before gently placing her on her feet. She stepped back and finally turned to Oliver who had his arms open already and she stepped into them, a few tears leaking out as she leaned her head against his chest.
"Thank you again, Cat." He whispered.
"And thank you for saving me." She whispered. "Remember, I'm there whenever you need me. I'll charter my own private plane if I have to."
He chuckled. "Don't spend it all in one place and you call us if you need us."
"I will." She stepped back, giving them all a small smile as she wiped at the tears. She turned to her bike and grabbed the helmet Oliver had sent with her bike, informing her that she wasn't in Starling and would need it so as not to draw attention to herself. Just before she put it on, she stopped and looked back at them with a smirk.
"Oh and Oliver?"
"Yes?" He asked.
"I told you so."
He laughed as she put the helmet on and started the bike, giving them one last wave before she took off down the road.
She had some friends to save.
