A/N: Yes, I am taking part in Makorra Week 2015. School just has me behind on my stuff. The week landed on the same time I had my midterms.
"You missed the turn."
"No I didn't."
"Yes you did."
"No, I did not."
"Yes, you did."
"Korra, I have been paying attention to every road sign we've passed and have not seen Walker St. yet, so how have I missed our turn."
"Because a tree was partially covering the street sign and this next light is going to be Pearl Pkwy – two blocks away from where you were supposed to turn."
Mako huffed as he tightened his grip on the steering wheel, slowing to a stop at the intersection. He leaned forward to look at the street sign above him. Pearl Pkwy. Mako leaned back in his seat and tried his best to keep his cool.
"Say it," Korra smirked as she rerouted their directions on her phone.
Mako looked out his window and bit his lip, still trying to keep himself together and not showing his defeat.
"Say it," Korra repeated in a sing-song voice.
Mako tightened his grip again. He then faced forward once the light turned green and took a deep breath. "You were right."
Korra looked at her stubborn boyfriend and smiled. "You know it." She then leaned over to kiss Mako's cheek to get the angry look off his face. "Now, make a U-turn at the next intersection and I'll make sure you don't miss the turn again."
"Are you sure this is the hotel?"
"Yeah, this is the address."
"It doesn't look like the picture," Mako said as he looked at the hotel's website on his phone and then the print out in Korra's hand, seeing the same building on his phone.
"Maybe it's an old picture," Korra said as she looked between the black and white photo and the building.
Mako looked around the lot they pulled into. "I don't really trust this place. It looks really shady."
Korra looked around the lot as well. "I'm going in," Korra said as she unbuckled her seatbelt and opened her door.
"What?! What if you can't get in? This place does not look- Korra get back in the car!"
"Come on Mako, I can take care of myself," Korra said before she closed her door and started for the door of the rundown one-story hotel (motel). After a few minutes Korra exited the lobby doors and tried to walk back to her boyfriend's car as fast as she could trying not to look suspicious. She flung the door open just as fast and she closed it. "Drive."
"What?"
"The hotel is three blocks over and a creepy guy kept staring at me," Korra said quickly and she stiffened in her seat once she saw the said 'creepy guy'. "Drive, drive, drive!"
Mako did was he was told and pulled out of the parking lot as fast as he could. Once the shabby building was out of sight, Mako's grip on the stirring wheel loosened. "Say it."
Korra stiffened a bit before sliding down in her seat a little, keeping her eyes on the people walking on the sidewalk.
"Say it," Mako repeated as reached over to pinch the ticklish area on her knee.
"Ok, you were right," Korra shouted as she jumped for the jolt.
Mako put his and back on the steering wheel and smirked.
"I want to marry this bed."
"I don't think that's possible Korra."
"It should be. This bed is awesome. Come and try it!"
"I'll take your word for it," Mako said as he pulled out a shirt from his suitcase to put away in a drawer. "Are you not going to unpack?"
Korra propped herself up on her elbows. "Have you ever heard of living out of a suitcase?"
"Korra," Mako sighed, "We're going to be here for a whole week. It would be smart – and easier – to unpack and but your stuff away instead of living out of your duffle bag."
Korra pouted and looked at her neat-freak boyfriend for a moment. She then look out the balcony glass door, getting a perfect view of the beach that was literally right by the hotel they were staying at. "Let's go to the beach," she said casually as she pushed herself off the bed.
"Can't we get settled in first? The beach will still be there when we're done," Mako said while Korra was off digging through her duffle bag, setting clothes she didn't need to the side.
"Come on Mako. It'll be fun and you need to loosen up. I'll even wear my new bikini," Korra replied as she stood and held up the black and gold string bikini top she was talking about, knowing that this would make her boyfriend putty in her hands.
Mako stared at the swimsuit top for a moment, his mind stopping for a bit. "Ok, let's go to the beach," he said as he started to dig for his swim trunks.
"I love the beach."
"Well, for someone who spent most of her life surrounded by snow and woods, make sense you would."
Korra wringed out the water from her short hair as she looked at Mako and smiled not only for his snarky comment, but also that he had his nose stuck in a book. "How are reading when you have something so amazing right in front of you?"
"Well, I have someone that's better sitting right next to me," Mako smirked as he cut his eyes away from his book to look at his girlfriend.
"You're such a dork," Korra said before kissing his cheek. "Why don't you come swimming with me?"
Mako thought about the idea for a moment. He's never really cared for swimming in the ocean for as long as he remembered, he would much rather stay on land than go swimming in clouded waters.
"Come on Mako, we're on vacation. Loosen up. I'm not waiting till we go bar hopping for you to do that," Korra said as she nudged her boyfriend's arm.
Mako smirked. "Ok, let's go."
