Hello! Okay, show of hands... Who loves the Chuck/Serena sibling/friendship? ME TOO! For a while now I've had a story kicking around in my head about them. I think even more than sharing a mom, the biggest relationship they share is that they both love Blair. I also think it's interesting that there have been times they've each helped with the other's relationship to B. Of course there was his little elevator trick, and her often being Team Chuck. It started me wondering what it would look like if they fought... and how this would affect a certain brunette caught in the middle. This is meant to be a fun little piece based off of that, and is dedicated to a SUPER great person! Here we go...
Chuck sat in a chair, next to the couch Lily and Rufus were cuddled up on, and across from his brother Eric. Chuck smiled, not at the musician who played for them tonight, but at the ecstatic glow and joy on his mother's face. He truly loved Lily, and making her happy. There was only one person on earth who he loved even more, and she'd bowed out tonight, insisting that this should be family only. Chuck had balked, because she was his family, but Blair had touched his cheek, and he'd caved. She had, however, texted his 8 times in the last hour and a half to see how the night was going. That's his girl.
Suddenly Lily reached out and grabbed Chuck's hand, and his eyes shot down to them, and then back up to meet her warm gaze. She mouthed thank you, and Chuck felt himself swell with pride. He returned her smile, and squeezed her hand back. It was in moments like this where Chuck felt like a good son, like he had succeeded at something his father had spent nearly a lifetime feeling he could never be.
It was nearly a half hour later when the elevator dinged. The musician, ever the professional, kept playing, but Chuck scowled at the rudeness of the interruption, and more seriously, the interrupter.
"Sorry!" Serena loudly whispered, with the smile that charmed everyone... but her latest brother, as she slid onto the chair beside Eric just as the music ended. He stood, bowed, kissed Lily's cheek and wished her a happy birthday, and then left quietly. Lily was still speechless several minutes later, in fact the whole room was still in a contented bubble... Until his sister spoke.
"Was that Elvis Costello?"
Eric nodded. "Adele was his opening act."
"Wow." Serena's eyes went wide. "I'm sorry I missed that."
Chuck rolled his eyes. "Yes, you'd be surprised what you're present for when actually show up for things on time... Like your mother' birthday..." Chuck looked over at Lily fondly. "Again, Happy Birthday, Lily."
"Thank you so much, Charles." Lily smiled. "Everything was wonderful."
"Called you a whore." Serena fake coughs into her hand.
Chuck's brows knit together as he looked at his sister. "I'm sorry you missed most of the evening. I'm sure you have an excellent reason..."
"I had a thing." Serena defended herself.
"Blonde or brunette?" Chuck said dryly.
"You're one to talk." Serena said with an edge to her often sunny tone.
Chuck placed a hand on his heart. "Brunette. Now, always brunette."
"Wow. A reformed man-whore after what? Four whole months of monogamy?" Her eyebrow shot up. "Blair is such a lucky girl."
Chuck's deep scowl was instantaneous, her sarcastic words hitting a nerve. He prided himself of making Blair happy.
"I'm the lucky one." He said as he stood, adjusting his suit. "And if you'll excuse me, I have a plan to surprise Blair at the library with dinner from Gramercy Tavern."
Chuck kissed Lily's cheek and then looked over at her sister with a pointed smile. "Besides, I'm sure you'd like a few minutes alone with your mother to give her your gift."
He walked away, knowing Serena had arrived empty handed.
"Happy Birthday!" Serena said with exuberance to cover for her late and gift-less status. However minutes later after fuming over her brother, her brow's shot up and a devious smile was hinted on her lips. She excused herself, and pulled out her phone. She started walking towards the elevators, but everyone could hear the start of her conversation.
In her most overwrought voice, she beseeched the person on the other end. "B, I need you! Can you meet me?!"
Eric sat back, instantly seeing what his sister was playing at. "Well, she just put out her Blair-signal... I'm guessing Chuck's going to be surprising the homeless man who likes to sleep by the vending machines with the best meal of his life."
"Oh, dear..." Lily said softly. "Perhaps I should speak to them?"
Eric snorted. "Don't worry, Mom, ever since Junior year, for the most part, they try to keep the blood out of the house. My guess? Blair Waldorf is in for a rough week..."
"Should we warn her?" Rufus asked with a raised brow.
"No, she'll try to run... and we need the head start." Lily told him, already planning a couples trip to the spa for a week or four.
Blair lay curled on her bed, listening to Serena, and being not entirely sure what her best friend was going on about. She did however pickup on Serena's idea to go to Eleanor's country home for a weekend of fun and bonding.
"Fun and bondage sounds like a perfect way to spend a weekend..." A deep, sexily timbered voice said from the doorway.
Blair sat up with a happy smile, her dark curls bouncing around her face. "Chuck!"
She was so happy to see him, in fact, that she missed the narrowing of Serena's eyes. "Bonding." Serena correct her brother. "It's a Girls weekend."
Blair face screwed up at the thought. She enjoyed her Bestie time... but she was incredibly addicted to her Chuck time... plus her body had been humming since he'd said the word "bondage". She had new leather restraint she'd been dying to break in...
"S!" Blair stopped for a moment to clear her throat and not sound so eager. "I'm sure the boys don't have to be excluded from our weekend... The changing leaves brings out the amber in Chuck's eyes... Nate still has most of his summer tan left..."
"He uses a cream." Chuck added in, liking the part where she was poetic about his eyes, but not overly found of her talking about her ex's tan.
Blair rolled her eyes, and shot him a sultry smile that told him his was the only skin she wanted to see... and touch.
"NO!"
Blair head quirked to the side at her friend's adamant reaction. "Serena?"
Serena sat up on her knees and threw her arms around her friend. "Blair, I just need my BEST friend."
"Okay, S... okay." Blair patted Serena's back.
Chuck scowled as his sister smirked at him over his girlfriend's shoulder.
"Blair?" His voice was innocently mild.
"Yes, Chuck?" She turned her head to peek at him over her shoulder as she pulled strands of long, blonde hair out of her lipgloss.
"Harbinger."
Blair's pupils dilated at signal word. Their Go word. She nearly shoved Serena off the bed in her hurry to get rid of her, and didn't stop till her friend was in the hall. Chuck lifted a brow at Serena as Blair grabbed his tie to pull him to her, and his hand slammed the door in his sister's face.
"Foiled by hormones." Serena grumbled to herself as she left, but was buoyed by the knowledge that she'd have Blair, and Chuck would have nothing but Nate this weekend.
It was a Wednesday, and it was about to be the longest two days Blair had had in a while.
The next morning Serena walked her to class. Chuck was waiting in his limo to take her to lunch... which ended up being in Paris where they oddly had no access to wifi. Serena and she went on a marathon shopping trip Friday morning, and only at the end did Blair realize her cellphone had "mysteriously" been turned off.
Chuck had brought flowers. Serena macarons. Serena bought her the new Birken. Chuck an array of Agent Provocateur. Serena begged for endless shopping trips. Chuck did endless things that made her beg to him and god. Mostly him.
By that night she was laying on her chaise, a stress mask over her eyes, and her Dorota fanning her.
"Dorota, I'm a good person."
"Yes, Ms. Blair." Dorota said with a straight face. "Everybody always say, 'Ms. Blair is a good person'."
Blair ripped the mask off her face, and shot a narrowed glare at her maid, having caught the hint of sarcasm in her tone, before continuing. "Do I deserve this? I keep looking over my shoulder to see if King Solomon is there, ready to pronounce I should be cut in half!"
Dorota shrugged, and mused. "Well... maybe then you know who loves you most..."
"Clearly they both love me, because, let's face it, I'm me." She ignored the eye roll of her maid. "And let's be clear, this is all Lily's fault!"
"Maybe it is Ms. Lily's fault... but what are you going to do about it?"
"Fix it." Blair nodded with focused determination.
"Because you are good person."
"Because I'd like to not be driven into an early grave."
Chuck sat back in the limo, smiling to himself as he again read over the text that he'd received from Blair. She's snuck away from her girl's weekend with Serena, and was at a rental house just down the road. He'd brought champagne, flowers, and handcuffs.
His car pulled up, and pulled away before he'd gotten to the door. He glanced over his shoulder, and then back to the door. He turned the knob, and it was open, just like she said it would be. His eyes shifted around the empty, unfurnished space, and he thought to himself she might be going for an Eyes Wide Shut theme for their evening. Hearing a sound, he walked into a huge room that looked to be that of a small ballroom. There was a small, round table with a wooden box set on it. He was almost to it when Serena stumbled into the room. They looked at each other, confused for a moment. Then the only to doors in the room slammed shut, and the distinct sounds of locks being slammed into place echoed through the space.
"Blair." They said at the same time.
Serena spun around to bang on the heavy wood. Chuck lifted the lid of the box, and rolled his eyes, lifting the bonded card that was included with the contents. He held it up between two long finders for a now quiet Serena to see.
"Stop cutting me in half. Work it out. Love, Blair Cornelia Waldorf"
"It would seem... we're not getting out of here anytime soon..." Chuck mused.
Serena walked over to him, her heels clicking against the polished marble floors, and glanced into the box.
"Subtle as ever."
Out in the hall, Blair and Dorota stood against the door, each with their ear pressed tight to the wood, straining to hear.
"At least we not hear gun shot... yet." Dorota pointed out.
"They're not loaded." Blair snapped. "They're symbolic."
"Fine, but remember, cousin Uri only do clean up in New York City. He hates the country air."
"Dorota?"
"Yes, Ms. Blair?"
"Shut up!"
Serena picked up one of the two silver, antique dueling pistols and started counting off paces. At 4 she spun around, a wave of blonde hair, and aimed the gun sharply at Chuck. "Pow." She pretended to blow a puff of smoke off the barrel. "So, how do you want to do this?"
"Well... since the recognized count for a duel is ten paces, and you only made it to four before shooting me... I think perhaps we should take the non-violent solution..."
"Hug it out?"
"I think not." He scoffed. "Talk?"
"Fine." She huffed.
He nodded and again looked around. Weighing his options he frowned as he chose to lay down right where he was, at stare up at the ornate ceiling above him. With a resigned sigh, Serena lay down beside him. For long moments they lay there.
"You'd have thought she'd at least have turned the heat on..." Serena muttered, pulling her jacket a little tighter around herself.
"Torture tactic. The cold keeps us motivated." Chuck commented.
"Or it kills us."
"That too."
Another several minutes ticked on until words burst from Serena. This fight had started about Lily, but underneath it was about someone else. Blair.
"I had her first!"
Chuck raised a brow and sultry smirk crossed his lips. "Technically, I had her first."
Serena folded her arms across her chest with a cocky smile. "Sure... Or... What happens at a slumber party stays at a slumber party..."
Chuck nearly snorted at this. "Please. Our girl?"
Again another pause came.
"I got used to sharing my mom with you-"
"Sort of." He cut in.
"I did, Chuck. My mom loves you. Eric loves you. You're my brother."
"But..."
"Sharing Blair is new."
"Nate..." Chuck offered.
She shook her head, silencing his words. Her head rocked too the side to meet his eyes. "Come on. We both know how different it is. You and Blair..."
Chuck nodded, knowing she was right. He and Blair were different. They both looked back at the ceiling.
"You're not just her boyfriend. She talks to you, you listen. She listens when you talk. You aren't just dating... You're after my job." Serena smiled sadly.
Chuck's brow furrowed as he sat up to look down at her. "I know you're blonde... But you have to know that's the stupidest thing you've said in at least three weeks."
"Ouch."
Chuck sighed. "You're her best friend. I don't want that to change."
Serena sat up. "You hog her."
Chuck smiled. "That I do... But I also know that she needs her best friend. She's Blair Waldorf, and I love her."
Serena couldn't help but smile at one of her oldest friend. Chuck Bass was massively, and deeply in love. If he hadn't been such a pain in the ass the last few days, she'd tell him how adorable he was.
"So, while I love to spend time with her... it has never been my goal to steal her way, and keep her all to myself. I want her to be happy. You, her parents... Dorota... make her happy. I don't want to change that."
Serena looked at him, and saw Chuck Bass. Her bestie's true love. One of her oldest friends. Her brother. She smiled and laughed before throwing herself at him and hugging him.
"You know I love you more than my luggage, right Chuck?!"
"She just quoted Steel Magnolias!" Blair whispered excitedly to Dorota.
"If Mr. Chuck knows that... you have bigger problem than BF vs. BFF..."
Blair rolled here eyes before hushing her maid, and pulling the door key from her pocket. She popped her head in the door.
"If you both are done... You can flip a coin for who gets to buy me dinner."
Serena looked over at Chuck, and then back at Blair with a smile. "I'm going to go and find where Nate is hiding out there, and make him feed me." She got up and hugged her friend. "You two stay here and have fun."
Blair and Chuck heard Dorota follow Serena out of the house. Blair slowly walked over to Chuck, straddled his lap, and slowly lowered herself down. His hands danced up her legs as she did so, and the wrapped around her to pull her close.
"Chuck?" She whispered against his lips.
"Hmm?" His eyes were closed, and his forehead rested against hers.
"You make me happy." She told him quietly as her hands took his and played with his fingers.
He was about to speak when he felt the leather restrains quickly slip over his hands and tighten on his wrists. That's his girl.
"You make me happy too."
TahDAH! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELIZABETH! I know it's a little late, but I hope you enjoy this little present!
