Death
He wasn't a showman. He wasn't fond of being the center of attention or doing big tricks that took a lot of thinking and planning. He preferred to be in the background, the one that most people forgot about. His tricks were always simple, spontaneous, but expertly done. He was stealthy, sneaky, easily forgotten. No one saw him coming, or expected him. They never thought to look for the wide-eyed boy, the one who could just as easily slip your watch or your wallet as slip out of your sight. No one paid attention to him. No one expected him.
Just like death.
