The Floo Powder Accident
Chapter 29
My internet is so bad but hopefully this'll work. It's been the worst thing ever! And it's only on my computer, on my iPod it works. But here is the chapter. :)
School immediately started for everyone. People rushed by through the hallways, dropping books, snatching them quickly. Prim found herself lost easily as she had no idea where she was. She thought it was the fourth floor corridor and was trying to find Potions. Prim bit her lip while her paranoid self looked over her shoulder. Emma had another class...
Her fingers twisted around her blonde locks. She was the last on in the corridors. At this point she expected to never find anyone. Her feet began to echo throughout the torch lit corridor. However, her expectations changed as she saw a boy around her age walking.
"Hi, hey!" Prim shouted, running towards him; her long ponytail swishing back ad fourth. "Hi, um, could you help me?" she bit her lip even harder as his pale eyes looked at her. She remembered him, wasn't he in Panem too?
"No," his voice came. He looked at her drone-fully and began walking away.
Prim scowled like Katniss. "Please?" her voice echoed like the sound of her footsteps. "Weren't you in Panem too? Like in the arena, with... Luna." Prim raised an eyebrow as he quickened his pace. Maybe he didn't ever want to think of that time.
Prim frowned as more footsteps came, but the figure of Draco Malfoy had disappeared. She turned and found herself facing one of the Hufflepuff girls. A quick smile rushed her face. To her curiosity though, why was everyone in the corridors? They've been here before unlike Prim. It was Acacia.
"Hi," Prim spoke.
"Uh, hi," Acacia replied, sweeping her long hair over her shoulder. "Do you need help finding where you're going or something?" her voice was so high, able to be identified quickly. It would soon be drilled in Prim's brain as fast as possible.
"Y-yeah," Prim stuttered. "I'm trying to find potions but I can't seem to find it." her eyes darted to Acacia's brown ones. They had mascara coated all around them, on the eyelashes. Definitely eye-liner too. Acacia began walking, gesturing for her to follow. "Thanks," Prim added. Acacia shook her wavy hair.
The walk had silence lingering over it, following them immediately. Acacia paused and held open a door. Prim walked through, the door slamming behind. She was in the potions classroom. Cauldrons were everywhere, as well as old potion books. Ingredients were everywhere and then the Professor stood by his desk.
"You're late, Ms. Everdeen," his voice had a cold sound to it. "Take your seat." Prim rushed to the back where there was an empty tables. "Someone explain what you're making to Ms. Everdeen."
A first year girl had reached for her book, hopping her way towards Prim. She had frizzy brown hair and big glasses. A wide smile was perched on her face as she took a seat next to Prim.
"Hi," she opened her potions book again. "I'm Isabelle."
"Prim," the blonde replied; her mouth twitching slightly.
"We're doing the Wiggenweld potion," Isabelle pushed some ingredients towards Prim.
Prim nodded, opening her book to the page the guide said to open to. She scanned the text and began brewing the potion slowly.
OoO
Professor Snape had been looking down at Prim for several minutes. It made her feel uncomfortable as she finished. She herad a quick 'eh' from behind her and footsteps moving by now. Eh? That's all she got as feedback. Wow, thanks. Prim bitterly thought. And I have to come back after lunch to go ahead of the class? she rolled her eyes as Professor Snape dismissed the class, instructing a few students to stay and help tidy the classroom.
She had Transfiguration now.
OoO
"Hermione," Ron said, attempting to close the book held in her hand. "Stop studying, you can do something. It's not like you won't pass the exams." they would be having them before Christmas break, Draco, Luna, and Neville included. Possibly even Prim. She had lots of work to catch up on. A few days had passed however.
"I know, you should be the one studying," Hermione replied, not letting her eyes off the book. Her fingers turned the page. It was lunchtime by now and Ron had been pouting how she wasn't having any 'fun.'
"Harry, can you believe this?" Ron sounded irritated. "She's been pouring herself over these books for hours." he looked desperate to do something. All he got as a reply was a shrug from Harry. "Fine," he muttered, opening a book to like Harry and Hermione. Ron got bored quickly and grasped a chicken leg.
On the other side of the hall, the Hufflepuff fifth years were chatting excitedly. It wasn't everyday when you got a new student. Emma was sitting to Prim's right, while another fifth year sat next to her. His name was Luke. He had blonde hair like Prim and blue eyes. He was a muggleborn. Prim had no idea what "blood" category she was in, if she was considered a squib or not. It didn't matter to anyone really as they talked to her like she's been here their whole life at Hogwarts. Lauren and Liz had been nice in ways. However, out of all the people that were talking to her, she felt like Luke and Emma were the closest yet.
"Prim," Emma bit her lip. "What class do you have next? I can take you there." Prim scanned her little notes of classes she had that day.
"Um... Care of Magical Creatures," Prim replied, it wasn't a first year class but she was doing it already. Emma nodded. "I have so much work to do in so little time." Prim added with a groan. She'd have to study all weekend. It was only Thursday too, yet Professor McGonagall was her favourite teacher so far, she seemed eager to help her as well.
"That's too bad," Luke chuckled softly to himself. "You won't get any free time during the weekend." he added sarcastically. "Emma and I will lead you out during Christmas if you're staying though, we won't even step foot in the library once."
"We're already talking about Christmas? It's the first day of school," Prim raised an eyebrow while Luke and Emma nodded in sync. "I don't know if I'm staying anyways." Prim added as an owl swooped over heard, dropping a letter. She had already knew it was unusual to get mail during the day. It dropped on her plate of food, the envelope getting greasy. Her fingers picked it up and wiped it on her napkin before ripping the letter open. She had noticed Katniss' and Peeta's handwriting on the outside of it. Mrs. Weasley must've thought them about 'owl post.' It was one of her first lessons basically with Ron and Harry, if you considered it a lesson.
Her eyes scanned the untidy writing as Emma and Luke wondered what she was reading. She wouldn't tell them, they had no idea that she "time traveled" anymore, oblivious from the first day. She was thankful that Professor Dumbledore hadn't told about her or anything, only the teachers knew. She sighed as her fingers concealed the letter into half. It was just about jobs and such, Katniss had stated that nothing was happening.
So did you guys like this chapter? I'm curious what you guys think of the OCs. There weren't many Hufflepuffs that I really loved, and since they were in Harry's year basically, all of them. So I made some up, hopefully you guys like this. Do you think she's good in Hufflepuff? If you don't like the OCs however, I can change them, or somehow "get rid" of them. Haha. I'm going to do more of studying next chapter. I think I'll do about six chapters per school year too. I may also go into her future even more, and everyone's. (I'm going to do a part of Sirius Black next chapter.)
Please review! :)
