Ch.29- Running along Memory Lane

* Author's note: So I just wanted to let my readers know some information before they read the next chapter. First off, Jaclyn met the Cullens and Bella when she was fourteen, but it was after the first time she shifted into a wolf and almost six years after her mother had died. She met the Cullens and Bella during the events of Twilight, during one of the times that Bella would visit the Cullens. Secondly, she went to the Cullens for help instead of the Wolf pack because she didn't want to run into her father again; the wolf pack don't find out until she tells them in the second chapter. When she is fifteen, the Cullens and Bella stop talking to her, which is during New Moon. During this time, she meets the band members of the Shifting forms and they form the band together. They stop talking to her when is sixteen. Also when she is fifteen until she is eighteen, the pack stop talking to her. The Cullens, Bella, and Band start talking to her again after she turns seventeen. Jaclyn still knows what happens to the Cullens, Bella and the pack during the events of Twilight and New Moon because she kept tabs on all her friends and those she considered to be family, including the band as well. So that's the time line and the information. Now continue reading my fellow readers. *

* Back to Jaclyn's point of view *

Flashback

How did I even get myself into this situation, or rather mess, in the first damn place? One minute, I was sitting quietly at my desk, minding my own business and focusing on the teacher speaking, and then all of sudden I'm being sent to the detention room down the hall; for a crime that I didn't commit... Well I guess that's not exactly true. I did let my temper get the best of me, but I couldn't help it. I take a deep breath to calm down the anger that keeps on bubbling inside of me, threatening to explode, as my shoes slap against the shiny, clean floors of an empty hallways.

Well, I guess it wasn't fully empty, considering the lockers lining the walls of the hallway and the instigator who managed to land me a free one-way ticket to detention is following behind me; a good distance away from me actually, which is a smart move on their part. If I didn't have such a good hold of my anger right now, the person behind me would be six feet in the ground right now and I would be in jail. You know, I forgot that there was a rule where the teacher could send you to detention for talking in class. Yes, I was sent to detention for doing something as stupid as that. Normally, I was quiet in class and that's how I had excellent grades.

I wasn't stupid and I was intelligent, but I made the stupidest mistake of letting my anger get the better of me when a certain someone kept trying to talk to me during class and wouldn't shut up. Actually, to get straight to the point, I got detention because the individual sitting next to me in class was using pick up lines on me. They annoyed me so much that I yelled at them to shut up, which resulted in the teacher thinking I was yelling at her so she sent myself and the person shadowing me straight to the detention hall or room. I let out an exasperated sigh at the current situation as I finally reach the door leading into the detention room. My hand reaches out and grasps the cold metal doorknob, slowly turning the knob as I open the door.

As I enter the room, my ears are greeted with silence, which is a surprise to me, since I figured the noise level would have been louder, considering the students getting sent to detention were usually rebels. I take a step into the room and see a group of eight students sitting in desks close to each other. They were all facing the front of the classroom, where a middle-aged male teacher with brown and greying hair was watching them like a hawk, just waiting for one of them to make a move, but no one said anything, remaining as quiet as a mouse. The teacher snapped his head to look at me as I fully walked in, followed by the person who was following behind me. They shut the door behind us and I could feel all the eyes of everyone on me as I faced the teacher without any fear at all; the person behind me seem to be fidgeting nervously behind me since I could almost him shifting his weight from one side to the other, as if he was nervous about what the teacher would say to me and what I would say to everyone else in the room.

From the looks of everyone in the room, it seemed that the other students seemed to be regulars in detention and that the teacher knew them, as for myself I was a newbie and they all knew it; I mean I had only been here for two days and already had managed to get myself into a small amount of trouble. The teacher's green eyes that were staring at me glanced behind me and a smirk began to form on the middle-aged man's face.

"Ah, Mitchael. I see that you've caused more trouble again. What did you do this time around?" The male teacher questions, teasingly as he looks at the platinum blonde hair guy who got me into this place. Ah, so that's his name.

"Oh you know, the usual. Mrs. Halls got mad at me for talking during class." Mitchael says and walks from behind me to stand next to me. As my eyes glance at him, I notice that the nervousness that he felt previously seems to have vanished into thin air. Cocky bastard...

"Ah I see. It looks like you found a new doll to join you in your little charade. Did you warn her about how easy it is for you to get into detention with me?" The teacher states and I make a disgusted face as I look between the two males. I was also shocked that a teacher would such as himself would say such a thing as that. I thought teachers were more professional then that.

"Unfortunately for her, I didn't warn her at all. She was actually the reason that we both got into trouble in the first place." Mitchael comments, acting all innocent and sad as he walks forwards, taking a seat next to a guy with dark brown hair. I send him a glare and he waves it off, winking at me. The nerve of that conniving little devil.

"Oh really? Well since you are new here, my name is Mr. Adams. This is the detention hall and it usually lasts a few hours a day so get nice nice and comfy in here with me and everyone else. I'm sure everyone else will introduce themselves to you. Now, if you will excuse me, I have a meeting to go to and I expect that you all will behave while I am gone. Also what is your name again? I didn't catch it." Mr. Adams says, getting up from his seat at his desk and walking towards the door that I just came in from, his keys jingling in his pocket as he walks. As he nears me, I step to the side to let him pass by me.

"I didn't give it but you can call me Miss. Carson." I say to him and he nods his head as he keeps walking. He opens the door, walks out, shuts the door and I hear him lock the door from the outside, causing a large amount of groans to fill the room and for my eyes to widen. Well, that was certainly unexpected. I walk over to an empty desk that isn't too close to the others in the room and is extremely far way from Mitchael, who is sitting at a desk on the other side of the room closest to the window on the opposite side of the wall from where the door is.

"Locked in again? Damn." Mitchael comments, groaning and I notice out of the corner of my left eye that he is slouching in his seat.

"What are you complaining about? This always happens after you join us. Besides, it's not like you actually have anything better to do then terrorize the poor girls that see your ugly face. I feel almost sorry for the newbie over there, who was likely charmed by your hideous looks and bad pick up lines." A guy with dark blue eyes retorts, flipping his long blonde hair back and away from his face as he jabs a thumb in my direction when he says the word newbie. I roll my eyes at that guy's comment. As if.

"Yeah, she really was charmed by my gorgeous looks, the poor thing." Mitchael retaliates, lying through his teeth as if lying came second nature to him. He throws the other guy a glare and then grins as if he honestly did reel in another toy for his collection. The other guy shows no surprise at all by this, as if this happened all the time.

"Asshole." I snap at Mitchael and his eyes widen in surprise; not expecting me to actually voice out my opinion and oppose him. I could almost see a pleading look flash across his eyes as my eyes glance over at him as I move my head to look in their direction, but I ignore it.

"What did you just say to me?"Mitchael questions me, trying to sound angry with me but even I know he isn't angry but terrified instead by the mere fact that I turned him down earlier and I was about to tell his little group of friends. He would likely get teased non-stop afterwards and just that thought alone had me grinning.

"You heard me, also for your information I was not the one who got us into this mess in the first place, that was all you. You wouldn't take the hint of a girl turning you down with your pathetic pick up lines so it resulted in me getting pissed off and yelling, which in turn got the teacher to send us here. So this was mostly your fault, you dumb-ass blonde." I retort, glaring at him as some of dirt blonde and black streaked bangs hang in front of my face. I push them off to the side so that I can give Mitchael a deadly, harsh glare.

The room fills completely with silence for about maybe two seconds as what I said finally sinks in before the room erupts with loud laughter coming from everyone else in the room. This laughter lasts for at least five to fifteen minutes and then everyone calms down, while I just have a grin on my face and Mitchael looks like a depressed puppy that has been abandoned by it's owner. Poor guy, but he had it coming to him after he lied and got me into this mess. Everyone either turns to me with shocked or surprised looks, or I get the occasional thumbs up sign. As for Mitchael, they look at him and grin evilly at him, preparing to torture and tease him relentlessly. A girl with long black hair that had a blue streak running through it turns towards me.

"So you mean to tell us that you turned down the Mitchael Smith, as in one of the biggest playboys in this school? How the hell did you manage to do that?" She asks me and I give her a confused look.

"It wasn't that hard to do. Wait, you mean to tell me that no one has said no to him or told him to back down including the girls in this room?" I ask her back and this time they are the ones that are looking confused.

"Well, we sort of turned down the other guys in our group so Mitch decided that we weren't really 'game' to him. As for the other chicks in this school, he sort of charmed them all somehow, although in my opinion, they would get with anyone who had a heart beat anyways. So it wasn't like it was hard for Mitch to charm them all." A girl with bright blonde hair explains and I give a small laugh at that.

"Dude, I can't believe that you got turned down by a girl. Has your luck with the ladies finally drained out of you?" A male with brown hair and a bright, crimson streak running through his bangs comments teasingly and Mitchael glares at him.

"Shut up, idiot." Mitchael retorts and the guy rolls his dark brown eyes at him.

"Is that the best you got, Yankee?" The guy retaliates, laughing as Mitchael growls.

"Oh go ride a stupid polar bear." Mitchael snidely remarks, smirking as the other guy merely rolls his eyes again.

"That's pathetic. I don't see you riding an obese person so why would you even suggest that." The guy comments and Mitchael gives him a disgusted look but doesn't make a come back.

"So you're a Canadian? That's pretty cool." I comment, laughing at Mitchael's and his little hissy fight.

"Yeah, my name is Connor by the way."He says, giving me one of those smiles that usually makes the girls go wild and I smile back at him.

"What is your name?"He questions me and I grin back at him.

"My name is Jaclyn, but you can call me anything you like." I say to him, winking at him and he only laughs while shaking his head.

"I like your style. I think we all will be great friends. My name is Scarlett by the way but you can call me Scar." The girl who had talked to me previously, the one with the black hair and the blue streak running through it, says and I smile at her. She is sitting closest to me and Connor is sitting across from Mitchael.

"My name is Abigail." The girl with the blonde hair says and I nod my head.

"My name is Hillary and the girl sitting in front of me is Olivia."A pitch black haired girl says to me and then points to a girl who has dark brown hair. The guy sitting in front of Mitchael who has long blonde hair turns to me.

"I'm Chase and you already met the retard behind me."Chase smirks at me, causing Mitch to scowl at his back.

"My name is Jayy and the guy next to me is Isaac. So it is nice to finally meet someone who can likely help us keep Mitchael in line."Jayy says laughing and I smirk at him, laughing along with him. Mitchael sighs and goes back to slouching in his chair.

"Awe, what's the matter Mitchy? Did you get played?" I say to him with a laugh and he automatically sits back up.

"N-no. Although I'd love to show you just how good I can play."He flirts, his confidence returning and I roll my bright blue eyes at him. Bi-polar much.

"If you treat me like a game, I'll show you how it's played. If you think that me turning you down earlier was harsh, you haven't seen nothing yet. Although, enough of that. I think that we should do something more fun, instead of making fun of Mitchael and his pathetic flirty, while we have detention together." I say, getting thoughtful as I finish my sentence. A light bulb flashes on in my head as I look around the room and notice a few objects.

"Like what? There isn't anything to do."Jayy comments, boredom filling his voice and I smirk at him.

"Well, why don't we form a band. There are a few musical instruments over there that we could likely use."I explain and I see everyone else's eyes all brighten with excitement at the idea.

"Sure, we could do that and later come up with a name. I mean this room did use to be a music room before they turned it into a detention hall. Although, why do you want to form a band?" He questions me and I give him a small laugh.

"Well, I have always wanted to be in a band, plus it gives us benefits; such as getting to know each other more and having something to do during detention."I say to them and they nod their heads.

"So what was one of the pick up lines that Mitch use on you?"Scarlett asks me and I laugh a little bit.

"Oh Mitch, should we show them how I turned you down?" I question him and he nods his head. You could almost see the humiliation flash across his eyes all over again. He turns his head towards me, gets up from his seat and moves to be in one behind Scarlett close to me. Then he gives me a smirk that could melt anyone's heart except mine.

"Hey there, do you have a map because I'm getting lost in your eyes? Did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?" Mitch flirts with me, just like he did when we were in class together and he got us into trouble; only difference is that he added that second pick up line. His dark blue eyes staring deep into my bright blue ones.

"Sorry, no map so why don't you just get lost? No, but I did scrape my knees when I crawled up from Hell." I retort back, winking and his eyes widen in surprise and then disappointment as he gets burned metaphorically. Everyone in the room laughs and say 'oh burn', causing Mitch to huff in response and retreat back to his original desk, slouching once more.

"Why exactly did you join or get sent to this summer school anyways?"Mitch questions me, grumbling, and I look over at him.

"I mean a pretty girl such as yourself shouldn't be in a place like this, I would suggest my place..."Mitch begins to say but I glare at him, cutting him short and then I speak before he can say anything else.

"Yeah, sorry, over my dead body would I ever go to your place. You might as well stop while you are ahead with those pick up lines because I'll have a come back for everyone of yours. Besides, I mainly came to this summer school for something fun to do. My teacher suggested the idea and I took her up on the offer."I explain and everyone's jaws all drop in complete shock.

"You went to summer school for fun?!"

Flashback ends

That's how the band and I all met. It was the greatest time, or summer, that we shared together and it was only a couple of weeks later when we pick our band name, the Shifting Forms. Although, all good things must come to an end and ours did when they stopped talking to me after I was sixteen. They did eventually come back to talking with me again, but that was after they found out that I knew what they all were and after they left me alone for a full year. Even though the Cullens & Bella, and the Band all hurt me when they stopped talking to me, I believe that I got caused the most agony when the Pack all stopped talking to me. They broke a very important promise that they made to me two days before they stopped talking to me, as if the promise had meant nothing to them or to me.

I can still remember the day they made that promise. I bite my lip as I, once again, am dragged into another memory, my heart burning with pain as old woulds begin to reopen up as I'm sucked into the memory...
