Chapter 29:

"Okay America, don't be nervous. Just answer the questions honestly and it'll be fine," Marlee said.

I was just about to go do the interview that would be aired live. I was beyond scared to go up there and sit down. A different thing was, it's not going to be with Gavril.

I took a few deep breaths and fixed my absolutely stunning dress.

It was an eggplant purple color and was dress was made out of raw silk and was only a tiny bit tight right above the bump. It all flowed down to my feet and was surprisingly comfortable.

"Queen America, we're on in five. You should sit down on the sofa."

I nodded and made my way up the three stairs.

A lady, probably in her late twenties, early thirties was there.

She quickly stood up and curtsied and I quickly told her there was no need.

"It's a pleasure to be able to interview you, Queen America," she said with a smile.

"Thank you for having me here," I said.

"We're on air pretty soon, but I want you to know that I'm just going to ask you a variety of questions. Some about the baby, some about the guerrilla and just be comfortable talking."

I nodded.

"Okay we're on in 30 seconds," A crew member shouted.

They started the countdown and I fixed my dress and hair.

"Good evening Illéa! Today I'm going to be doing a very special interview with our Queen. Last week on the report we got some news on a new troubling force called the guerrilla. Queen America is also almost ready to have her baby! So let's get started!" She said flashing a gorgeous smile to the camera.

"First of all, I think that we are all staring daggers at that gorgeous dress! You may have an eight month baby month, but you still look stunning," She said.

"Thank you, my maids really do work hard."

"Now our first question is how is the situation right now with the guerrilla?"

I took a breath and then replied, "I'm not going to lie to this country and say everything is as good as we want it to be. What I can say is that we are trying our very hardest to protect this country and any country being affected. It may not seem as if we are doing much, but I promise you all that we care about all of your families and we will do whatever it takes to stop more harm from coming." I said calmly.

"We all know that King Maxon has gone overseas. How are you doing?"

"I think that I'm doing okay. I definitely miss my husband more than anything and I'm sure the little boy in my stomach does to. King Maxon was extremely unsure to leave, but he knew that he has a duty to this country. He may not be physically fighting right now, but he is fighting for all of you. It's hard for both of us to not be next to each other and comforting each other, but both of us knows that the other is staying strong."

"That's one of the bravest thing's in this world. It's amazing how much you both are doing for this country."

"The people in Illéa deserve it. They have been staying strong for us and we shall do the same for them. You all are trying your best even when I know some of you are experiencing extremely rocky times. I just hope everybody knows that we really are trying and fighting for this to end and to make Illéa a better nation."

"Now Queen America, will you be giving any hints on the name of your child?" She asked with a light smile playing on her lips.

"As much as I'd love to say the name of the little boy, I have a feeling King Maxon and I would like to keep it as a surprise. What I will tell you is that it isn't too typical and is pretty original," I said returning a smile.

"Well then, those guesses probably won't be too close to the name. Are you excited to have your baby soon?"

"Absolutely, I've always loved children so I can't wait until he is born." I replied honestly.

"Have you been decorating a nursery room?"

"Yes in fact we have. We're excited for him to have his room. It's going to be connected to ours so it'll be convenient for us to go in easily."

"Well those are all the question's for today! Thanks for tuning in and thank you Queen America for doing this!"

I smiled and waved to the camera.

I thanked everybody in the crew and then started down the hall with Marlee by my side.

"You did amazing America," She said her voice cracking a bit.

"What happened?" I asked her.

"Nothing it's just…. You're so strong. So much stronger than you've been given credit for."

"Thank you Marlee. I just wish I could call Maxon right now," I said looking down.

"Same... Except Carter not Maxon," She said.

"You better not steal my husband," I said jokingly, squinting my eyes.

"I won't, now go get some rest. Concealer isn't going to help those dark eye circles disappear. They'll just make them worse," Marlee said before turning the handle on her door and going in. She said goodnight to me although I knew I wasn't going to sleep yet.

I had another stupid meeting to go to.

"Queen America, you must see this!" I heard Mary yell.

"Mary, she's half asleep don't yell," Anne said.

"Oh… right… oops."

I felt the sun stream through the curtains Anne had opened.

I shifted in my bed and lay there for a minute before sitting up. The sound of water filling the bathtub was prohibiting me from sleeping some more.

"Good morning?" I said more of a question rather then a general statement.

I watched as Mary's head popped through the bathroom door.

"Anne, she's awake," She exclaimed excitedly.

Seriously, what is going on?

I realized a tray of breakfast was in the room and Lucy was arranging it.

They all came together and then brought the tray to me. I didn't realize there were magazines on top.

"Umm what are these?"

"You should read them," Lucy said excitedly.

"Okay…." I said picking one up.

They were exactly what I wasn't expecting.

There were articles, headlines, and pictures all from the interview yesterday.

All the questions and answers were even copied down for others to read.

The most surprising thing is that they weren't bad. In fact… they were amazing.

"Queen America and King Maxon are fighters!"

"Our new Queen is staying strong!"

Tons and tons of headlines. How is it that this country manages to make this awful time not seem too bad. I was expecting complaint articles about how we are apparently lazy.

"Wow this is… just amazing," I said smiling.

"You really did do magnificent yesterday," Anne said.

I gave them all a hug satisfied that maybe this country wasn't planning how to murder me.

Again sorry it's short! I hope you liked it though. I'm going on vacation tomorrow so I'll see if I can update. Review, Favorite, and Follow!
