Chapter 29 - The New Plan

Ally's POV

After the performance, I rushed of the stage - quickly waving at Trevor - and tried my best to quickly get back to the booth. I was stopped many times with people cheering me, crazy dancers and the drunks. Finally after what seemed like an hour adventure, I reached the table to see that Cassidy was still sitting next to Austin. My eyes zoomed onto their linked hands. Well, more like Cassidy's hand clutched to Austins. I banged my hands down onto the table and smiled at Cassidy sickeningly sweetly before turning to Austin.

"Austin, where did Trish go?" I asked, my teeth barred. He looked at me scared.

"Um.. She went to the um.. toilets! Yeah! She went to the toilets!" He said quickly, stumbling over the words. I raised an eyebrow.

"Well, you guys take care. I'm suddenly bored of this place. Have fun with your new friend there." I said, winking playfully. Both of them looked at me as if I had grown another head. I picked up my purse, gulped down Austin's drink and walked away. Once I managed to push past the new surge of people trying to get into the club, the cold hit me. I felt all the sweat mingling with the cold air, my hair sticking to my face. I sighed deeply as I parted my hair, leaning against the rail on the steps. I sighed again, closing my eyes. Not a moment passed before I heard my familiar sound for a new message. I took my phone out, moving my hair from my face once again and opened the new text. As soon as I read it, I turned around, my arms supported by the metal bar.

"Took you long enough." I grinned. They smiled back.

"Well as soon as we got your text, we tried to escape." Trish started. "It didn't help that the line for the women's room was massive."

"My excuse is that as soon as Trish left, Cassidy came out of nowhere and kissed me." Austin said loudly, shuddering after. "That's all that was! I swear Ally!" He said as he remembered I noticed what had happened. I laughed.

"Why would I care? It's not like you were talking to the girl that's hated me since I was little and turned you against me with blackmail." I said sarcastically. "How did you get away from Cassidy anyway?"

"I told her I was gonna get her a drink. As soon as she started flirting with another guy, I legged it." Austin said looking back at the door. "Can we leave before she comes out that door with steam coming out her ears?" He suggested, already backing away to his car. I chuckled at his cowardliness and followed after him, Trish by my side amused.

Once we got home, I rang up Seth and Candy but both times leading to voice mail. I walked up to my bedroom where my friends were waiting and shrugged.

"There still not answering." I said, holding up my phone. Trish began biting her nails and Austin didn't look fazed.

"How about later on this week we go to Candy's?" Trish decided. I thought about it before nodding. Austin just looked at us blankly. "What?" Trish replied impatiently.

"Honestly, I think they just need some space. They're pretty serious and when couples move in with each other too soon it doesn't turn out well. They'll come around. So Ally, what was so important that you needed us to leave the club?" I sat down crossed legged on the carpet as Trish took my wheelchair and Austin had made himself comfortable on my bed.

"I found something very interesting on the reigning ice queen." I said, smirking evilly. They stared at me contently.

"Ally, I love this attitude of yours but get to the point." Trish said, leaning into the chair in a huff.

"Well.. It seems like our favorite blonde can't sing and has a little 'help' every now and again." I said suspiciously. They both looked at me, when a dawn of realization came upon Austin.

"HEY! I thought I was your favorite blonde!?" He screamed.

"Austin, honey, it was sarcasm." Trish said, patting his arm. He backed away, blowing his fringe out of his eyes.

"Pshhhh, I.. I knew that." Trish and I rolled our eyes.

"Anyway Ally, simplify please." Austin deadpanned.

"Oh right! Basically, Cassidy can't sing! She uses this headset that has a vocalized voice replace hers so she sounds great!" There mouths dropped open.

"Your kidding right?!" They both spluttered. I shook my head, a smile growing on my face.

"Ally... why are you smiling like that..." Austin spoke.

"I think, we may have a new plan."

Pretty soon, the school was covered in flyers and banners about the new singing competition sponsored by Austin Moon with mega recording artists such as Jimmy Star attending. Nearly everyone was going and half the school were going to be taking part. Whenever there was a free moment to talk, at lunch or even in a test; people would be whispering about songs that would be perfect, dance routines and costume. Without a doubt, there were people betting on who would win and those with high confidence. One of them being Cassidy.

"I am so going to win." She said. Immediately the hallway went silent. As she closed the locker and walked away, hushed murmurs were spread.

I can't win if Cassidy's taking part!

Omg, I have no chance now.

I wonder if she needs any dancers?

Nobody seemed to know that the girl who had talent didn't.
