Chapter 28
The Eve Before the Battle

Fili and Kili stood in front of us as three dwarves approached. One looked like a lord. I stood behind my two boys with Lily. Lily had her arms wrapped around me and I had an arm around her shoulder.

"Fili. Kili. It's good to see you." Dain said.

"Glad you could come." Fili said.

"What's going on that there are men and elves here?" Dain asked, eyeing all of us.

"The elves are here to help with the injured after Smaug destroyed the town of Laketown and the men are here asking for the money that Uncle promised them before Smaug attacked. Thorin is refusing to give it to them and has locked himself in Erebor." Kili said.

"Then why are you among them?" Dain asked.

"We are here on our own choice and to help them." Fili said.

"We will help fight. The orcs and Goblins look like they are here for war." Dain said.

"We all will fight." Thanduil said. There were agreements from everyone. I bit my bottom lip at the memories of the visions I kept having. Dain and the two dwarves leave.

Later that night. Fili and I lay tangled together in our bed in our tent. Lily was asleep in the other bed on the other side of the tent. I looked towards her.

"What's going to happen to Lily while we're fighting?" I whisper.

"I talked to Tauriel and she agreed to stay with Lily while we are fighting." Fili said.

"Fili. Stay with me, you and Kili." I said.

"Astra? What's wrong?" Fili asked.

"I keep having visions of your deaths. I don't want you both to die." I said, tears in my eyes.

"Astra." Fili said, reaching for me, but I pull away.

"I can't lose you. If you die, I'll die or I'll sail to the Grey Havens." I said. Fili pulled me against him and buried his face in my hair.

"We will stay by you. We all will make it out of this fight alive. I promise." Fili said, kissing my hair. I clutch him close and nod, hoping he was right. We fell asleep in each others arm, hoping it wasn't our last night together.

AN: I know its short, but hopefully next chapter will be longer. I'll update soon.
