Alec was paseing nervously around his room, he was waiting for someone. Someone important, he could possibly hold the key to now finding Murdoch. There was an abrupt knock on the door that made Alec look at the door. He moved over quickly and pulled the door open.
H reminded Alec of Q in the James bond films. He was relatively new, probably why he went for the single letter name. He tried to keep the meaning of H a secret, Alec wasn't the so called world's greatest detective for nothing.
He was young, late twenties; he had wild brown hair and blue eyes which were hidden behind glasses. He was wearing a large overcoat while carrying a large briefcase that he was struggling with.
"You could have called sooner." Said H. "Or at least given me more time to prepare something."
"We didn't really have time Har-"
"Please Alec, secrecy." He said, "People like the whole, man of mystery thing."
"It may work on the rookies Ha-" H raised his eyebrow.
"Fine, H." he said begrudgingly. H smiled. "Where are we on the whereabouts of this hideout?" H frowned.
"I've been working on the cubes you sent back." He heaved his suitcase onto the bed and opened it. It contained inventions in various stages of construction. Alec picked up the first cubes he could find.
"So what are they?"
"Well I ran some tests on them." said H. "We've been able to determine that they are definitely organic based."
"What else would they be?"
"In this world where there are Demon weapons, knowing that it's organic is very helpful." Said H. "Now, anyway, the cubes, so far as I can work out, are really, Keys."
"Keys? Keys to where exactly?" asked Alec.
"Well…that's partly why I've come out here to see you." Said H sheepishly. "I have pieces, but I can't quite put them together."
Alec sighed. "Right, well tell me what you've got and we'll see what we can do."
"Right, well…uh." He scrambled round with pieces of paper and equipment in the suitcase. Alec sighed and grabbed one of the boxes and inspected it his hands.
"Ok, what does these trinity triangles do exactly?" asked Alec. "When I played with it at Burns's house it didn't do anything, but I noticed that it had a small opening." Alec ran his finger down it, "Here."
"Well that is interesting." Said H. "It opens up into a viewer." He took it away from Alec and ran a finger down it.
"They tried their best to conceal It." said H, "But so be honest, nothing gets past me."
"Except for me."
"Except for you." Said H quietly. "But using a revealing charm." H waved his wand and the box sprang into life. It opened at the side and a magnifying glass folded out like an origami pattern. Alec took the box away and inspected it. He looked through the looking glass, one side was clear; he turned it round and looked through the other side. It was blue, but with a weird pattern on it.
"How do you explain this?" asked Alec. "Does the other two have this as well?" H nodded and picked it up.
"They used a different concealing charm." Said H, "But still wasn't good enough." The other box opened in the same way, revealing the seemingly clear magnifying glass. Alec looked through and saw a yellow glass this time with another strange pattern through the looking glass.
"Another pattern." Said Alec thoughtfully. He picked up the two boxes.
"Did you notice the patterns on them?" said Alec. H frowned and looked over at Alec strangely.
"Patterns?" said H.
"The glass has a pattern on it on one side." Said Alec. "It looks familiar, but I can't remember from where." Alec picked placed them together. Hoping something would give, but nothing. He then rotated them until the glass aligned.
Alec placed them down on the bench and rotated the glasses.
"H, what does that look like to you?" said Alec, H looked over. The two aligned glass, rotated formed one pattern on the glass.
"I don't know." he said frowning. "What am I looking at?"
"Two thirds of the puzzle." Said Alec. He nodded at H who got out the third cube and opened it. He checked the glass to see it was another yellow one.
"Do you think that'll work?" Asked H.
"There made up of primary colours." said Alec. "Which means logically we need a red one."
"Why didn't ask the man you got this from whether he had a red one?" asked H.
"It never occurred to me until now." said Alec. "It could take ages to find a mercenary with a red one."
"…So where do we start?"
"I know someone who can find out the pattern." Said Alec.
"How fast can they get here?"
"There already here. Katherine!" he shouted, "Kath, I need something, come here please!" he went back into the room and looked at the pattern.
"I know what it was." He said, "The reason we can't find this place is because he's cloaked it magically." Explained Alec, "Like Hogwarts, or the leaky cauldron, it can't be seen by muggles. This-"
"I'm here." Katherine came in, and walked to Alec, "What is so damn important?"
"This." Said Alec leading her over to the glasses. "It's a revealing charm glass." Said Alec. "Split into three, but we have one piece missing."
"I thought you had three?" said Katherine.
"Two of one." explained Alec.
"And you need me why?" asked Katherine again.
"You did ancient runes." Said Alec, "This is old magic. Can you complete it?" Katherine looked at the glass.
"…Maybe." She said. "I'd have to do some research, it'll take time."
"That's something we don't have." Said Alec, "Murdoch will get whiff and move this operation on before we can figure it out." Said Alec. Katherine whined.
"Fine!" she said, "But be ready." She looked down at the glass. "It's complicated." Alec moved round and kissed her.
"You're brilliant." He said.
"And don't you forget It." said Katherine getting to work.
"Cheers H." said Alec as he walked out, "I need to get an OK from Parks for this mission to go. But hang tight, I'll need you later." Alec walked out into the hallway and touched his ear piece.
"Stanford, it's Alec."
"Ah, Alec." Said Parks. "Glad you're alright, what have you learnt?"
"For one." said Alec, "We know those boxes are two pieces of a revealing charm glass." Said Alec. "All we need to do is figure out the missing piece of charm, which Kath is working on right now."
"So he's hiding."
"That's what we think." Said Alec. "That's why we haven't been able to monitor his position here before."
"But why did Burns have it?"
"To get to the hiding place." Said Alec, "The Charm glass revealed magical spells to him, hidden artefacts."
"Ok, so what's the plan?" asked Parks.
"We go in hard, we go in quick. Disable the base and take Murdoch out." Said Alec.
"Do we know he's there? Alec, we need to have a plan of this building." Said Parks, "I can't just, authorise a mission like that, you know how we work."
"Reconnaissance first." said Alec bitterly, "But come on, we don't know if we'll ever get an opportunity like this again."
"That maybe." Said Parks, "But the general consensus will be we do this by the book." Alec made a fist so tight he could break his hand.
"I hate this." Said Alec.
"I know, but it's our job." Said Parks. "See H and try and figure something out, come back to me when you have something." The line went dead. Alec swore and went back to the room.
"I'm not done yet." Said Katherine as he walked in.
"No, not that." Said Alec. "H!"
"Yes.
"What do you have that can map out an entire building?" said Alec, "I know we have the sonar goggles but I need something that can properly map the building from floor A to Z." Alec looked over at H who was frowning.
"Do you have something?" asked Alec.
"I might do." Said H throwing some half-finished inventions from the table. "Something to map the building…know where people are inside it?"
"That would be helpful." Said Alec, "Do you have something like that." H walked round the table that Alec was by and swept all the things to the floor. He then placed a piece of parchment on the table and a small device. It was circular with blue middle and black trim. He placed it on the underside of the table.
"I've been waiting for an opportunity to do this." Said H. "It's a sonar reader, just like the one in your goggles." He explained flattening the parchment. "But this is brand new, I've just perfected it."
"Ok, what does it do?"
"It uses the sonar to map out the environment." Said H, "Like the goggles, but, it now sends the information to this." He pointed to the paper. "It will map the environment, people, chairs, tables."
"That's brilliant." Said Alec.
"The only problem is that it doesn't move with the changes of an environment." Said H, "So once it's been mapped, it can't be changed until it's been reset." H turned on the reader, Alec watched the parchment as it started to map out the room. Tables, chairs, then a small name tag appeared.
"What's that?" asked Alec.
"That marks a human being." Said H. "I haven't figured out how to get it mark it yet." Alec watched to his amazement as the room began to map out.
"What's its range?"
"So far, 100 meters."
"Meters?"
"It's the new thing." Said H, "But, to map a building, say 5 stories. You'll need one on each floor."
"Will they connect?"
"They have in tests." Said H, "But in the field with magical interference, it might not." Alec nodded and picked it up.
"I might need a few of these." Said Alec, "I don't know how big or small this place is." H nodded.
"I'll make some up." Said H. He set to work, Alec moved over to Katherine who was drawing down a weird pattern. Alec sat down next to her.
"How are you doing?" he asked.
"Ok." Said Katherine looking through the glass and drawing with the other hand. "I've narrowed down to what concealing charm it is, so that's ok." Alec sneaked his hand on her waist. She smiled against her will.
"That isn't going to get this done any faster." Said Katherine, "I'll still need to transfer it onto a piece of red glass."
"I'm sure you'll get it done." Said Alec. She smiled and looked up at him.
"I know you will." She looked down. "James is in trouble again." Alec looked down at the floor.
"What did he do?" Katherine smirked.
"You'll like this." She said, "Him and his friends were caught putting itching powder in the Slytherin Laundry." Alec laughed softly. Katherine smiled more.
"And they also but a charm on the pressure valve which meant they were turned pink at a certain time." Alec laughed more loudly.
"What's his punishment?"
"Minnie didn't disclose that," said Katherine applying the finishing touches. She got up and kissed him.
"I'm going to get this glass made." She said walking out. Alec leaned back in his chair and admired the view as she walked out.
"Are you sure this thing is going to work?" asked H.
"It better." Said Alec standing up. "Otherwise were all in the shit."
The sun was shining into the Hogwarts library, Lily and Sev were sitting doing some homework while it was quiet.
"How is Gibbs?" asked Lily.
"Still in the hospital wing." Said Sev. "Whatever Potter did to him took a lot out him."
"Did?" said Lily, "Excuse me but it was Gibbs who challenged Potter." Lily went back to her essay. "Whatever he got he was asking for if you ask me."
"That arrogant idiot put him in the hospital wing." Said Sev, "He wasn't asking for it. And by the way it was Potter who challenged him."
"I doubt it; he's always up for the fight."
"Do you really dislike him that much." Said Lily. "Even when your friends are in the wrong it's automatically him."
"He has reason to more than most." Said Sev. "Didn't you even hear what he and his friends were going to do to the vat."
"Yes, I did." Said Lily, "But they got caught, you have your revenge."
"But he put one of my friends in the hospital wing, do you expect me to just take that lying down."
"He didn't do it to you." Said Lily. She went back to her work. "Just don't go looking for him."
"Why?"
"Why." Said Lily surprised, "Why, Sev, did you see what me and he did in that classroom, did you see what he did to Gibbs."
"He can't go round strutting like he owns the place." Said Sev. "He needs someone to teach him a lesson."
"And who's going to do that? You?" she asked. "If I remember rightly, you challenged him to that stupid broom race, and you lost to."
"Are you saying I can't do it?" asked Sev.
"Why does everything come down to whether you can do something or not. Just leave it alone Sev." Said Lily in a fed up tone going back to her book.
"I can do it." he packed his stuff up and began to walk out. Lily didn't even try and stop him. If she was honest, she was sick of his little tantrums, if he had to learn his lesson the hard way then fine by her. Secretly she was hoping that Potter would at least make him see sense.
Snape walked through the hall purposely and outside into the sun, he knew where Potter and his gang would be, by the willow like they always where. Snape pulled his wand and strode across the grass. One person from the crowd looked up, she then conferred with someone else, causing the whole of the Gryffindor's to turn round.
Potter was lying down on the grass not looking at Snape. It made him seethe, Potter was going after everything that he geld most dear, it wasn't as if he didn't have everything, he needed her as well. Well he wasn't going to get her.
"Hey Potter!" he shouted. He didn't stir while the rest of the group turned to face him.
"What do you want Snivellus?" asked Sirius, to the groups amusement. Snape continued to walk towards him.
"That stunt you pulled yesterday was stupid and moronic." Said Snape. Finally, Potter looked up at him through one open eye.
"Funny, Gibbs said the same thing." Said James. "Look how he turned out."
"I'm not Gibbs though!" said Snape. James laughed and sat up.
"No, no you're right you aren't Gibbs." Said James. "You're easier." The group fell into laughter. Snape locked his jaw and gripped his wand more tightly.
"Heh, funny." He said Snape coolly. "What's the matter Potter? Afraid of a little challenge?"
"Oooooo." James smiled and sat up again.
"You, a challenge?" James shook his head. "Snape, go home before you get yourself hurt mate, that advice is free."
"Petrificus Totalus!" James went rigid and fell to the floor.
"Whoa Snape."
"What the fuck is your problem!"
"You're getting it!
"Leave it." Everyone looked at James who had used a counter curse and now stood up. "You want to dance Snapey boy, fine, let's dance!"
James twirled his wand in his fingers.
"Rictus Emperor!" Snape was sent flying back onto the green grass. James shrugged his cloak off and walked towards him.
"Go on Potter!
"Go on, go get him!"
"Didn't Snape see what he did to Gibbs?"
James walked over and pointed his wand at Snape. "A little taste of your own medicine Snivellus. Petrificus Totalus!" Snape went rigid.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" Snape's rigid body floated into the air, James twirled him round the air to the laughs of the other Gryffindor's, along with a few other people from other houses who had come to see what the commotion was.
"Had enough?" asked James, "Speak up when you've had enough?" Snape went to speak. "Vinculum linguae!" There was a snap of Snape's tongue sticking to the roof of his mouth.
"Well. It looks like Snivellus still hasn't had enough." Said James loudly for the crowd. He raised him higher into the air, the baying crowd shouting its approval.
Lily was fidgeting, it was what she did when she was restless. The Library was now getting busier and it was becoming harder to concentrate on what she was supposed to be doing. Plus deep down, she was a bit angry with herself with what she said to Sev, he didn't deserve that, but the way he went on about Potter was so…infuriating, that Lily hated the conversation.
She sighed, she needed to find him and make up. She packed her things away and set off after him. She went outside, she could feel the wind blow on her cheeks as she looked around and made her way to the willow. That's where all the other first years hanged out, he should be there to she thought.
After negotiating a wayward quaffle she came to the giant stone steps down to the willow. The first thing she noticed was the huge crowd that was gathered down there, it was a few people thick, obviously something was going down. Lily went down the step quickly and made her way to the crowd.
She wondered what would cause such a huge commotion. Was there someone fighting? Or showing off a new trick? Lily got to the back of the crowd and tried to peer over. All she could hear was encouragement of some sort. Maybe an arm-wrestle perhaps. She'd never seen something like this at her old school before.
She wiggled her way through, being short it gave her a good advantage to get to the front. She looked up at the older years, and then at the scene before her. Her face recoiled in horror.
Potter was levitating Sev in-between branches of a nearby tree, weaving him in and out of them while Sev banged his head on the branches. Lily looked to see who was doing it. Her heart sank, it was Potter. He was laughing with Black as they, they, there was no other word. As they bullied him.
"So Snivellus, had enough yet?" he called. Lily looked up at Sev who didn't say anything. Why wasn't he saying anything?
"Come Snivellus, I said to tell me when you had enough." He jeered. The crowd lapped it up, how could they just lap it up.
"Say something greasy hair!" Lily's mind was thrown back to her old playground, the circle of people around her, the jeering, the taunting. And that blonde hair girl, sneering at her with utter contempt.
"Say something ginger nut!"
Lily tried to wipe the image away from her head, but it was still there, clawing itself to the front of her head.
"So, you still want more!" Potter taunted, "Well, if you insist!" he made Sev hit another branch.
"Leave him alone." Said Lily, but her voice was lost among many, baying for more. Potter made Sev hit another branch. Lily's hand began to form into a fist, she was feeling the heat get to her.
"Say something retard!"
"Leave him alone." She said louder, but still, nothing.
"I said Snape, Have you had enough yet!" James shouted, he waved his wand and Sev fell to crumpled heap on the floor. Lily could see the people around her, shouting, jeering, taunting her. It wasn't going away, her head started to spin. She looked up and saw Potter raise his wand, anger got the better of her.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" she shouted, she then marched out of the circle and stood in front of Sev with arms outstretched, almost shielding him. Lily could see the surprise in his face, in everyone's faces.
"Evans, get out of the way." Said Potter finally.
"No!" said Lily, "How dare you bully him like this, making him a spectacle! What has he done to you!"
"He attacked me!" said Potter pointing at Snape, "He started it, I was finishing it, it's his own fault!"
"Oh yes because it's always someone else's fault with you isn't it!" said Lily, "It never dawns on you to take some responsibility now does it!"
"Hey, I don't take to being attacked lying down!" said Potter walking towards her. "This little weasel tried to curse me with my guard down, what was I supposed to do?"
"Get a teacher!" said Lily, "And not bully him like this for the baying MOB!" she yelled. She then looked around at all the faces staring at her.
"And all of you should be ashamed of yourselves!" she said. "You should have stopped this right away instead of making this a public humiliation!" A few people looked away guilty.
"Public humiliation Evans? Come of it." said Potter, dismissively. "And it wasn't bullying."
Lily couldn't believe what she was hearing. Was this him? Was this really who James Potter really was. He'd obviously never had to deal with this humiliation before.
"Have you ever been bullied Potter? No, of course not." She said, "But I have, I have had to endure this pain over and over again. I will not stand for it now you arrogant, arrogant, TOERAG!"
Potter laughed. "A toerag! That's the best insult you have!" Lily shook her head in disbelief.
"Is this a joke to you?" she asked, "You are bullying someone and you don't care."
"He said he can take it, what's the problem, he won't do that again." said Potter walking back towards his stuff.
"You're a coward." Said Lily, "You're nothing more than a coward."
"That's your opinion." Said Potter.
"Everyone thinks it." said Lily, "They just don't say it." Sev got to his feet after the charm worn off. He brushed himself down.
"Well done on getting your girlfriend to help you Snivellus, clearly you can't even fight your own battles."
"I'm not his girlfriend." Said Lily,
"And I can fight my own battles Potter." Sev spat back.
"Then tell your wannabe guard dog to but her corked teeth away then." Said Potter picking up his bag.
"And stay out of my way." He walked past Sev, pushing on his shoulder and walking up to the castle. Lily seethed with anger and turned Sev, the crowd was now dispersing.
"We need to see McGonagall about this." She said.
"No." said Sev straight away.
"No, Sev, he was bullying you, you can't let him get away with that!" she said forcefully.
"What, and have to deal with the repercussions, no thanks." Lily shook her head.
"Come on, let's go get something to eat." She said picking her bag up. They started to walk back towards the castle they were walking in silence before Lily spoke up.
"I'm sorry."
"For what?"
"No believing you when you said he was trouble." Said Lily. "God I'm such an idiot."
"Well, don't say I didn't warn you." Said Sev. Lily looked up at him.
"Was he always such an idiot?" asked Lily.
"He always thought the sun shone out of his arse." Said Sev. "I did try to warn you."
"Ok, so the spell they were using was called a trinity triangle." Said Katherine, "Ancient Greek magic, so it was quite hard get the pattern right." Katherine got the red glass and placed it on top of the blue and yellow glass.
"All we need to do is now align them and they will point the way towards the building." Said Katherine rotating the glass. "Quite ingénues really."
"Where not here to praise them." said Alec looking. "I need to find this place."
"Ok, and what are you going to do when you find out?" asked Moody. Alec thought for a second.
"Take him out." Said Alec. "No two ways about it."
"And what if he isn't there?" asked Moody. "Then what, we'll be back to square one Alec."
"That's what Parks said." Said Alec bitterly.
"Because he's right Alec." Said Katherine, "Do it right first time, so we put this to rest." Alec nodded.
"Ok, so what's the plan then?"
"Send someone in to find out what the building is like." Said Alec. "So we'll need that sonar mapping system."
"And you're just going to walk in?" said Moody, "Shouldn't you use a Polyjuice potion to conceal yourself."
"Allister's right." Said Katherine, "Go as that mercenary and sneak in. They'll be expecting you then."
"What if they heard about his incarceration?" asked Alec. Katherine smiled as she fiddled with the class.
"You love acting." Said Katherine. "Play it to your advantage, but if you want to do this plan you have to move quickly."
"H, how are we doing on that sonar mapping?" asked Alec.
"There good and ready to go." Said H passing them to Alec. "Remember, they only have a range of one storey, and they can't change with the changes of the environment."
"Ok, what about the paper?" asked Alec, "I can't carry those with me?" H picked up a rucksack.
"You can use this to keep them safe." Said H. Alec nodded and looked at the trinity triangle.
"Is that done yet?" he asked.
"Almost…" said Katherine. There was a small hiss as the glasses aligned. Alec moved over and watched as the glass revealed one purple one. Alec picked it up.
"It will show you magical barriers." Said Katherine, "You need to go above and use it to pin point its location." Alec nodded and kissed her.
"Are you going to be on comm?"
"As always." Said Kath smiling. Alec took everything he needed and made his way to the door.
"Moody, with me." He said waiting for them. They caught up and they went towards the broom room.
"I want you on the ground to provide back-up." Said Alec. "I'm going to get a location by flying round, be prepared to meet me at the location.
"Yes Sir." Said Moody.
"Good." Alec walked to the wardrobe and pulled a long steel case. He placed it on the floor and pulled out his nimbus he turned to the two of them. "You know what to do, now go." Moody walked away while Alec walked to the big widows in the room. He opened the windows and placed the trinity triangle into his pocket. He stepped inside and mounted the broom and shot out of the window.
Alec laughed as he went up into the night sky. He then felt the fresh air of the night hit him as he hit the night.
Alec floated above the city; he pulled out the trinity triangle and looked through the glass at the city below him. The glass showed thermal imaging, the city was in purple, with anomalies being shown up in yellow.
There were a couple of little anomalies scattered around the city, nothing that should be suspected.
"Anything?" asked Katherine.
"No real spikes." Said Alec. "Maybe there hiding in clear sight."
"Do you really think Murdoch would go for that?" asked Katherine.
"No, you're right, he's a hunter." Said Alec, "He needs to hide in the shadows." Alec looked around the city again.
"Wait!"
"What."
"There!" Alec shot off like a rocket towards a spike of yellow light. "It's a wave charm as well." Explained Alec, "So it spikes up at intervals." Alec pulled up on his broom and landed in a nearby alley. He hid it behind a dumpster and ran out into the street, he held up the square and waited, then, the yellow wave appeared. Alec smirked to himself and went down the street and came towards a building that was seemingly demolished. Alec looked through the glass and saw the building. Standing proud.
"Moody, meet me here at my location. I've found it."
"What is it exactly?" asked Moody.
"It's supposedly a demolished building." Said Alec. "But it's still standing. At least through this it is."
A second later he apparated next to Alec.
"Do you have it?" asked Alec, Moody handed him a flask filled with Polyjuice potion.
"Hairs are inside Alec." He said smirking, "Bottoms up."
Alec downed the vile liquid; he almost barfed, but kept the potion down. He looked down at his hands and saw them changing. They were going thinner. He cried out as his body morphed to the perfect image of Mercenary. Alec looked down at his body.
"Well…shit." Said Alec. As he looked down at himself.
"You look ridiculous." Said Moody.
"Thanks dickhead." Said Alec adjusting his clothes so they now fitted him.
"Right, one hour. After that, come in and get me. Got it?" Moody nodded. Alec took the briefcase and walked towards the building sight. He walked up towards the building. He looked through the glass and saw the front door. He placed his hand on it and walked inside.
Alec made a quick plan of the bottom of the room. The whole building was just steel in the basics of construction. There were building materials all around the floor and cement mixers. The building was mostly steel girders with concrete floors and stairs.
He could see another entrance from the other side of the room. He frowned and looked around at the guards in the room, there were seven of them stationed on the bottom floor. They were all armed with guns. Murdoch obviously didn't trust wizards to be here.
"Mr Jenkins." One of the men came over.
"Mr Murdoch wasn't expecting you."
"But this is really important." Said Alec, "There on to us. He warned us Potter was coming and he's going to catch us. I barely escaped, we need a plan."
The guards looked at each other. "Ok, go on up. He's in his office." Alec wanted to ask which one, but knew his cover would be blown. He smiled that weak smile that Jenkins did and walked up the stairs to the second floor not before dropping a scanner on the floor. There were three guards guarding an elevator. Alec walked towards him sheepishly.
"Uhm…Going up?" asked Alec. The guard snarled at him and opened the door. Alec slipped a sonar mapper into his hand and flicked it into a corner. Alec walked into the elevator, the guard closed the door and it started to move up. Alec looked as the city became smaller and smaller below him. Alec placed a Sonar mapper on the door and turned it on. It was a long shot, but hopefully a pulse will be able to give a weak layout of the floors.
"Good so far." Said Katherine.
"Yeah." Said Alec. "A little too well…"
"Please take it as it is." Said Katherine. "We've had nothing but bad luck, let's go for some good now." Alec nodded.
He guessed he might have been about thirty storeys up, he looked into the floors to see them being monitored guards. The lift then stopped and he stepped out.
He stepped onto a metal walkway. He looked over the side to see the very core of the building and the breeze of the city from so far up. Alec walked forward and scanned the room. There was another walkway on the other side of the room where there were six guards. Alec looked forward and saw a set of steps going up towards a set of closed doors.
He walked up and opened the door. And there he was. The whole room didn't have glass in the windows which cause the wind to whistle round the room with each gust. Murdoch stood with his arms folded, staring at the city. Alec could tell from the long coat and the way he folded his arms. It was him.
"Easy." Said Katherine, "Don't do anything stupid please."
"Mr Jenkins." He it said. "What brings you to my humble abode?" Alec shook his head, remembering what he was supposed to be doing. He slipped a sonar mapper into his hand.
"It's Potter." Said Alec, activating the scanner and dropping it. "He got away…potentially with everything." Murdoch laughed slightly and turned round. His hair was longer and more unkempt, like he'd been living rough for months. His beard as well was wild, his eyes though. One of them was open, the other one fused together. There was a pink scar from his eyebrow down to the top of his cheek. At least he got him good thought Alec.
Murdoch walked towards him. The same heavy steps and questioning gaze still didn't trust anyone. He stopped so he was just in front of him.
"Potter isn't our main concern right now." he said.
"Well he is for us." Said Alec. " He has my trinity triangle. What if he gets the other two, he'll be able to find you then."
"That I know." Said Murdoch, he then walked to a desk in the room. "But Burns I doubt even he could find the other two so quickly." he said.
"But how long till he comes for you." said Alec. "Burns is rotting somewhere and no underworld connection will take me in!"
"Shows how loyal people are." Said Murdoch, "And why should I take you in?"
"Well…because of all we've done for you!" said Alec. "Camelot!" Murdoch let out a gruff laugh. It was a long shot, but maybe they did have something to do with Camelot.
"Camelot is much bigger than yourself." Said Murdoch. "But, if I have learnt anything in this business." He placed an arm round Alec and walked him across the room towards the end of the room towards the end.
"Is that you look after you're friends." Said Murdoch, they reached the missing panel with the breeze flying onto Alec's face. "And it's an important rule." He continued, "Only eclipsed by one other." Alec forced a smile.
"And…what's the other rule." Murdoch took his arm back and stepped back.
"That in this business…you never leave loose ends." Alec felt a sharp kick in his back and he fell out of the window. He hurtled towards the ground.
"What happened?"
"He kicked me out of the window." said Alec calmly. He pulled out his wand and pointed it at the ground. He used a wordless copy charm on himself. It was a useful charm to know when you needed to fake a death. He grabbed the copy in-front of him and turned so it was facing upwards. Alec then apparated away as the copy became street pizza.
He landed on his haunches and stood up, causing Moody to jump back in surprise.
"How did it go?"
"The bastard tried to kill me by kicking me off the roof." Said Alec brushing his clothes down.
"So he's there." Said Moody. Alec smirked.
"Damn straight he is." He said as the potion wore off. "Tomorrow when we get the clear, were taking him out. Have a team around this building now." said Alec, "I want the names of anyone who comes on or out of this place, understand?"
"Yes Alec." Said Moody. With that, Alec apparated away.
