Thirteen year old Harry Potter looked into his caldron, and then checked the book. The color was just right, and it shimmered like the book said it should. He was reaching for the value that would shut the magical flame off when his potion vanished. Blinking he looked again and then turned his head.
"A troll again. Just like your father, a failure," Snape said with a sneer and then added, "Twenty points from Gryffindor for your failure."
Harry saw red at the man's words. Grabbing his stuff, he shoved it into his bag and stood up to leave the room.
"Sit down Potter," Snape snapped out.
"There was nothing wrong with that potion when you vanished it. That's it. I've had enough of you. So go fuck yourself. I quit!" Harry replied in anger and stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Snape rushed for the door and grabbed the handle, and when he tried to open it, it refused to open.
Harry stormed through the hallways up to the Gryffindor tower and to the third year dorms. Slamming the door open, he walked over to his trunk and pulled out his muggle clothes. Yanking his robes off, he quickly dressed in his muggle attire and reached into his trunk and pulled out several items. Slamming the trunk closed, he shrunk it down by pressing the rune engraved on the top he had installed from the trunk shop and slipped it into his pocket. Dropping a package of envelopes and his broken wand on the bed, he swung father's cloak around him and left the dorm. Descending the stairs to the third floor he walked up to the statue of the one-eyed witch.
Harry looked around and then tapped the statue on the head and said, "Dissendium."
The statue moved and Harry descended into the tunnel and walked down the passageway. Ten minutes later, he was in the cellar of Honeydukes. Looking around, he saw no one was in the room. Heading for the stairs, he stopped and looked at the boxes of chocolate. Biting his lip, he pulled out a piece of parchment and wrote a quick note. Laying it on the crate near the stairs with twenty-five galleons he then grabbed several boxes of the chocolate and stuffed them into his bag. Slipping up the stairs towards the door he saw it was open and he peeked out. The staff was stocking the shelves and he snuck across the room to the main door and with a final look around he stepped out into Hogsmeade he walked across the street and down the road to the Three Broomsticks that everyone mentioned about in the common room. Looking around again, he slipped inside and over to the fireplace where the container of floo powder was.
Harry tossed the powder in and said, "Leaky Caldron!" and he vanished in a twirl of green flames to arrive in the pub that was the entrance to Diagon Alley. Stumbling out, he looked around to see if anyone was paying attention and then slipped into the back area and waited under his cloak for the gateway to open and it did so in less than five minutes. He followed the people that had come out of the inn and headed for Gringotts to get some money.
Harry handed his key to the goblin and watched as he opened the vault door and quickly entered. Inside the vault he started filling two sacks that he had pulled off the wall with as much gold as possible. When filled, he noticed the pile was still pretty full so he grabbed two more sacks and filled them as well before stepping out of the vault and back into the cart where he was whisked up to the lobby. Once in the lobby he converted three of the sacks of galleons to pound notes before leaving the bank and headed for the pub but stopped as he saw the trunk store again and went in where he bought the trunk that he had seen at the beginning of the year that had seven compartments including an apartment. The trunk also had several spells built into it as well. Using his key, he paid for the trunk and then hit the book shop and the apothecary for potion ingredients before getting out of the alley before Dumbledore or his people showed up.
Harry made it out of the Leaky Caldron just in time as Professor Snape and McGonagall flooed into the Leaky Caldron just as he left. Harry's first stop was to a used clothing store after taking a taxi away from the Leaky Cauldron so he could buy some clothes that fit him before he hit several grocery stores to buy food to place in his trunk. He headed for Hampstead Heath where when he was nine years old had gone to as a class outing had gone there for the day. He remembered a lot of the woods were thick and he thought it would be a good place to hide out in the trunk.

Forty-five minutes after Harry stormed out of his classroom the door was finally opened and Snape stormed out of the room and headed for the Headmaster's office. Whatever Potter had done had prevented him from sending a message patronus of summon an elf to take a message to Albus. Most of the students headed for the great hall but two, Ron and Hermione headed for Professor McGonagall's office to tell her what happened. When she did, she was not a happy kitty especially after Hermione gave her a memory of the class and she viewed it in her pensive, even though she wasn't a potion master she couldn't see anything wrong with the potion Mr. Potter had been making and the insults he hurled at the boy had her fuming. Sending the two kids back to their common room she headed for the headmaster's office.
Slamming the door open she saw Professor Snape talking to Dumbledore and she silenced him with her wand and then started to dress him down. Dumbledore tried to interfere and she handed him the memory and told him to watch it and both saw Severus blanch when she said it was the third year potion class for the day.
When Dumbledore came out he had a sad look on his face as he turned to Severus and demanded an answer on his abuse and vanishing of Mr. Potter's potion. Snape was unsilenced and he responded with his typical arrogance that Minerva put him on probation and removed his ability to take and give points. Minerva ordered him out and then turned on Dumbledore where she dressed him down. He tried to appease her but she wasn't having anything to do with it. They were still discussing it when the gargoyle announced that several students wished to see them. Dumbledore allowed the gargoyle to move and Hermione and Ron rushed up the stairs and into the office.
"Harry… Harry… Harry has left," Ron said as he tried to catch his breath.
"What do you mean Mr. Weasley?" Minerva asked.
Instead of answering, Ron just handed the letter to Professor McGonagall instead.
Minerva opened the letter and quickly read through it. Everyone could see the blood drain from her face as she gripped the desk in front of her and then she handed it to Albus.
"Albus, I hope you're happy," she said as she sat down.
Hermione handed her letter to Professor McGonagall and she read it too. The second letter was basically an apology to Hermione telling her that she was his best friend but she couldn't stay there anymore. She never noticed that Albus had gone to the fireplace and made several floo calls.
"This was with the letters as well," Hermione said as she placed a broken wand on the desk.
Tears started flowing down Minerva's cheeks as she gasped out, in Gallic, "Chuir e air falbh a chasg!"
Ron looked at his head of house and asked, "What?"
"Sorry Mr. Weasley. I said he snapped his wand," McGonagall said.
"Yeah and he took all his stuff like the map and cloak, the git…"
"They were his Ronald. Why should you get them?" Hermione said with a huff.
"What cloak? What map?" Minerva asked as Dumbledore came back to his seat.
"His invisibility cloak and a map that showed where everyone how was in the castle where they were," Ron angrily said.
"What do you mean he had an invisibility cloak in the school? Where did he get it?" Minerva demanded.
"Professor Dumbledore gave it to Harry in his first year. It belonged to his father," Hermione said and then added, "As to the map. The twins gave it to him. It was made by four people called Prongs, Moony, Padfoot and Wormtail."
Minerva pinched her nose as she shook her head, "I should have known."
"Professor?" Hermione asked.
"Prongs was James Potter," Minerva stated and then said, "So that makes the map his property as well as the cloak. Albus, why did you give the cloak to Mr. Potter?"
"The cloak has been the property of the Potter family for hundreds of years. It is a family heirloom. When James loaned it to me to examine he asked that it be returned to his son when I first met him if something happened to him. I did as instructed," Albus said as the door opened and Remus, Flitwick, Severus and Pomona came into the room.
For the next twenty minutes, Albus and the four head of houses questioned the two teens and then they were dismissed as Remus, Snape and McGonagall headed to Diagon Alley to find out if the boy had been there. Gringotts wouldn't say but Remus detected his sent and followed it to several stores including the trunk store and then out to the muggle worlds where his scent was lost several blocks later where a bunch of taxies were parked.

Harry spent several days staying inside the trunk and sorting his belongings. Hedwig had arrived and was happy to see him. Harry decided that from seven am to three-thirty pm he would stay in the trunk studying the books he bought and come out after three because that was the time the non-magicals would leave school. Harry was surprised when he started to climb out one day when he spotted a pair of familure eyes watching him and he invited Dobby into the trunk. Ten minutes later, he had Dobby bonded to him and he was sent to Gringotts with a request for a Goblin morphing necklace that Dobby had heard about when Lord Malfoy got a wand for Draco when he was ten. With the necklace on, Dobby took Harry to Dublin where he entered a wand crafter's shop and asked for a wand to be crafted as his was broken when a muggle jumped him to rob him by surprise. The wand cost six hundred galleons and was Redwood, twelve inches long with the tail feather of a thunderbird. Very swish, good for transfiguration and defense. Dobby returned the necklace and Harry started learning what he needed to know.
Up at Hogwarts, November 31st came and Sirius was able to get into the Gryffindor's dorm room and grab Scabbers and was caught by Professor McGonagall as he was trying to escape in dog form. When she hit the dog with the Homonculus Charm and revealed that the dog was Animagi known as Sirius but also caught the rat Scabbers as one Peter Pettigrew. The backlash that fell saw the fall of the Fudge government with his kiss on sight of an innocent man and that he had been bribed by Lucius Malfoy to have Lord Black kissed so his son could inherit the title and wealth was revealed and Malfoy was sentenced to ten years in Azkaban while Peter was given the kiss because there was no way to keep him contained in the prison. After the swearing in of Amelia Bones as the new Minister for Magic she started cleaning house, but to Harry he didn't care as he refused to go back. With Dobby's help, Harry was enrolled in a private school in the New Year under a new name and he continued his mundane education with some difficulty. They also rented a two bedroom flat and had a place to stay which was only a temporary home to them as they were trying to find a better place to live. The search would intensify as Sirius started searching around London and one day in early June, Dobby saw him as he was in the park that their flat overlooked. With quick snaps of his fingers, the flat was packed in Harry's trunk and he used his glamour's to go to the school where he started the withdrawal process. Harry was summoned to the headmaster's office and he was told his grandmother had fallen and was in the hospital. Since Harry had taken his exams they quickly left and when alone, Dobby explained that he had seen Sirus Black in the park across from the flat.
They took the first evening train out of London Paddington Station to later disembark in Bristol Temple Meads where they stayed in a hotel for the night. The next day they would look for a new place to live and a school for Harry to attend. It would take Sirius two weeks to find the exact flat Harry had lived in and by the time he did the trail had gone cold again.

Note: Well that's it for this one shot, up to anyone who wants to take it. Will Harry's name come out of the cup? Up to you.
