Chapter 29: And they lived happily ever after
It has been two years since the final battle at Hogwarts and yet it feels like it was only yesterday. A lot has changed since then but somethings remain the same. Harry and Ron both became Aurors and now are the top two in their field. Both of them didn't finish their education. Hermione and I both finished with top marks in the small group of our class that went back to finish. Hermione now works at the Ministry in muggle relations and also for creature rights. I took a bit longer finding my way. I worked at the twin's joke shop for a while before working on helping to restore the rest of the castle to its former glory. After that I accepted a teaching positions at Hogwarts as the new co-defense against the dark arts teacher so Lupin could spend more time with Nymphadora and Teddy. They are expecting another baby in a few months, a beautiful baby girl. Neville is the new Herbology teacher and is currently dating Luna (that shocked all of us when they announced that). Ginny is playing professional Quidditch and is dating Seamus (another shocker but I always had a feeling there was something there). Everyone is guessing on when Seamus is going to propose. Ray became the little sister I never had and became the new charms teacher after she graduated. She is currently dating Dean who is currently working in the auror department with Harry and Ron on missing wizards and witches cases.
Harry and I are still dating and have gotten a lot closer over the past two years. I am now fully recovered from my surgery and for the first time in my life I can live a normal and full life. Harry and I apparated to somewhere in the countryside in front of a two story house with a huge garden and yard in the back. At first I didn't recognize the house but I soon realized we were at the house I lived in with my parents before Mama died. Harry led me inside, showing me all the repairs he had done so far. He had found it after going over my Dad's will. He had left everything to the both of us including Number 12 Grimmauld Place (where were we currently living after a massive refurbishment) and my old childhood home. As we walked around, memories flooded my mind.
"Why are you doing all this Harry? Grimmauld Place is a fine place to live since we refurbished it. Why have two homes?" I asked him.
"This place is better for raising a family for starters. Also since you got both those little husky puppies a couple months ago, they need room to run around and play, right?"
"Harry, we have enough room for both Silver and Balto where we are now. There are too many unhappy memories here for me." my eyes went into the living room where the worst of my memories were.
"Then we'll just have to make new memories here, together." Harry turned me around before getting down on one knee. I covered my mouth with my hand as he pulled out a small black box.
"Jessie Mitsuki Black, I've loved you since I first saw you all those years ago on the platform. You are my light, my whole world, without you I would have never been able to win the final battle against Voldemort. Would you do me the honor of becoming my bride?" he opened the box, revealing a beautiful diamond ring. Tears came to my eyes as I looked at him, to the ring and back. After a few moments I dropped my hand and smiled through my tears of happiness.
"Yes. Yes I'll marry you Harry." I knelt down and kissed him, throwing my arms around him. He kissed me back, only breaking the kiss to put the ring on my finger. We walked out into the garden after a while (and a tour of the rest of the house with a very detailed tour of the master bedroom). To my surprise we found the whole gang waiting for us.
"All right everyone, cough it up. We win the bet!" Fred smiled while a few of the others grumble.
"You mean two bets Fred, though I thought for sure Ron would have proposed to Hermione by now since he had the ring for well for two years now." George accepted a few bags of money from the others.
"What is going on? Did you two make bets on when this was going to happen?" I looked at them with a raised eyebrow.
"Just a friendly wager dear sister. No harm done or caused." Fred answered before everyone started to congratulate us.
We got a married about a year later in a beautiful outdoor setting. It wasn't a big wedding, just family and friends but it was one of the happiest days of my life. Harry and I ended up with five children: James and Sirius, (the twins and also exactly like our fathers), Albus Severus (the only one to get Harry's and Lily's eyes), Lily Luna (who was much like her grandmother and name sack) and the youngest Emily Nymphadora (who sadly received my heart condition but we were able to get her help before it was too late). The whole gang still tries to get together at every holiday, birthdays, anniversaries but we always make sure we gather for the anniversary of the final battle. The main ones who played the biggest roles speak at Hogwarts so the new generations can learn our story and learn from the past.
A/N: And that's all folks! The story is finally completed and done! Once again I cannot thank all of you enough for everything. Thanks for the support guys. I'll be posting new stories soon including The Wish in a couple weeks. Thanks again!
