It has been so long since an update. but it made sense to have a 413 update. It is finally getting happier c:
==Be the other boy
You spent three days on the R.M.S Carpathia making your way towards New York City. The majority of the time was spent getting yourselves organized into the ship's routine, and having many emotional breakdowns. John was in the same state as you. You were haunted with nightmares of John and Bro dying and fake sights of the ocean rising over the edge of the ship.
The last day on the ship before you docked the following evening, you were at your wits end. You were sure you heard Bro's voice while you were walking through the halls. You could even swear you saw him once or twice. John thought it was the "guilt" from not being able to save him. He told you many times that it wasn't your fault but you never listened to him.
You ran through the events of that night over and over again, trying to see if there was a way to save John and Bro. John always shook your shoulder before you could think of anything. He was obviously worried about you. He said once that while you were deep in thought, you looked so sad it was making John sick. You had tried to stop after that but still found yourself thinking about it; mostly at night.
This day seemed to be going on and on. You were quite anxious to get back on land and it seemed like the hours were dragging on. John had taken you back to your room to organize the small amount of clothes you had left. You were wearing the suit you wore to dinner and something else underneath. John had his clothes packed in the bag you were sharing, but you broke down trying to put yours away.
Many of the things you brought were things Bro had given you. But you lost all of them. The suit was a special thing you got. Those memories came flooding back and John had to calm you down after you broke some more. He would rub your back and tell you he was there for you. You just nodded and tried to steady your breath.
When the clothes were packed, you left the bag outside your door with your name on it to be picked up and taken to the carriages you were to get on that evening. You and John went to the sunroom on the top floor and had a cup of tea with some of the other passengers who survived the wreck. That was really all anyone did. Many people were in the same state as you; men, woman, and children all the same.
You spent a long time in that room trying to figure out what you both were to do once you left. John still had that job offer and you were supposed to continue in school. You figured it would be best to drop school and keep the money you saved up for university bills as payment for a house. You decided to use your passion for music as a career choice. You could write music which might become popular enough to be put on radio programming. It was a new technology which was just recently invented and becoming quite popular.
After your planning, you sat outside looking at the ocean and watching the sky slowly turn pink. You took a deep breath and smiled. You might be ready for this.
==Be the older man
You ended up sharing a room with Nepeta once you were "settled in." The staff were all very nice and tried their best to get you a room and food. You noticed the ship was quite packed the next day. The original passengers minded a bit but no one was complaining.
You and Nepeta had mostly walked around the ship, trying to find something interesting. This was mostly Nepeta's idea. You didn't find much but you ended up talking to this nice pair of old ladies who told you about their past and how they never found a husband but enjoyed staying friends. They offered you some knitting and Nepeta (of course) had to agree. You only smiled and tried your best. It was looking better than you remember. Maybe practice does make perfect.
You had spent the majority of the time on this other ship speaking with other guests and entertaining them. You didn't know if the people were from the Titanic or the Carpathia but every person you spoke with seemed to love the company. A few kind couples from first class who made a successful life told you two how to do the same. You took down many mental notes.
You had a chat with Nepeta about what the plan would be once you got off. She told you about her father and the bills she needed to pay. You had not much planned for a life in New York. You brought up the idea of living with Nepeta. She wasn't sure what to say at first. She said that the current relationship you had was not that kind and you apologized for coming off as such. Nepeta just giggled and told you that she would think about it. One thing for sure was you would definitely stay in contact.
You had hardly noticed that the sun was going down until you let out a soft yawn. It was almost time to dock and you were not ready. You both rushed to your state rooms and get the limited amount of stuff you had ready. You were given a ticket which gave you specific instructions on where you were to go when it was time to leave.
Nepeta was given similar instructions. You made a small plan that in a week's time you were to meet at the docks again and see if they wanted to move in or just give their new addressed so they could visit.
The boat was shaking a little more than how it was before. It was docking. You nodded to Nepeta as you both headed towards the doors which lead to a new life.
